As the title says, I need an original omnia 7 pre-8107 ROM.
There is a thread with links, but they are dead.
There is also a page on sammy firmware, but I don't know which one should I use:
http://bit.ly/IbRp3A
My phone has been bought in Croatia (Europe) on t-mobile operator and has been sim unlocked after that. I need to keep SIM unlock too.
Are these instrucion applicable for what I need to do:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973420
My intent is to do a manual rollback to be able to windowbreak my Omnia and than update via Zune to the latest OS version (8107 currently). I am doing this because Croatia has been given a marketplace access and I want to do a hard reset.

In my opinion you should install a custom rom, like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1485576

Thanks for the advice, but i've given up on custom ROMs, since i noticed all of them have some bugs and problems. And CAB updating does not work reliably. And they more often than not come with those modified tile and icon skins.
Got an answer on another thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1570569&page=2
Downloaded firmware, no magldr needed, i just need to follow these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973420
Also, it would seem i don't even have to flash anything, since zune restore will be enough for my purposes.

Hello all,
like many users i've forced the mango update on my Omnia 7.I ended up with firmware version 2424.11.8.2.
However, i read that most of the users that got the update the "normal" way got firmware version 2424.11.8.5, so i rolled back to NoDo and updated again - still i get 2424.11.8.2.
So my question is - is my firmware ( 11.2 ) mango, or do i need to update my phone manually somehow?
Anyone knows what's the difference between 2424.11.8.5 and 2424.11.8.2 ?
My samsung now app doesnt auto-refresh also..could this be related to the firmware ver?
When you say "forced" the update, what do you mean?
Also, when you rolled back and then re-installed, did you need to do anything special to re-install?

2424.11.8.5 is the Mango update with Samsung drivers and 2424.11.8.2 without.
If you wanna enable Internet Sharing feature you need firmware 2424.11.8.5, this you can also do manually with Cab sender... just search here in the forum.
I flashed back to a branded T-Mobile rom for getting firmware 2424.11.9.4, with my unbranded Samsung rom I couldn´t update the firmware.

I mean i used the cable trick (google it) to get the update b4 it was available for my phone through zune.
After i rolled back i installed in the normal way - didnt use tricks, zune said there's an update, so i updated.I guess this is the official update for my phone. But i dont get it, why it comes without samsung drivers..
Unbranded phone
As I understand it if you have an unbranded Omnia 7 then you will only have 11.8.5 and that does not give you tethering. For me to get tethering I need the firmware update that only seems to come from the carriers themselves which leaves me in the lurch.
I do not want to faff about with unlocking them especially as I have 3 unbranded phones I guess I will just have to wait and see what Microsoft push out to us plebs. You can of course install the firmware if you phone is unlocked and you will find plenty of instructions on how to do this.
hey guys,
i've got the samsung omnia w gti8350 and i installed the latest update including kk2, but now i havn't the phone either unlocked nor i have a backup.
i downloaded the full mango build 7720 rtm and the wp7 update cab sender. when i wanted to "update" actually downgrade, the anser was no cab was required. the phone doesn't let me downgrade to mango!
is there a possible answer how i can downgrade it or how i can uninstall kk2 without having a backup?
thanks for your attention
daniel
I'd ask what you did with your backup, but it's probably too late for that now.
You need a ROM flashing tool, not a CAB sender (which is used for updates, not full ROMs). I know that ROM flashing utilities exist for the first-gen Samsung phones, and would assume that either they can be used with second-gen or you can find one that works. The tool used for HTC (like I have) is called ROM Update Utility, commonly abbreviated RUU.
You may want to look in device-specific parts of the forum. Also, just for the record, do you mind posting your firmware version info (from Settings -> About -> More Info)? People are constantly asking how to check for the KK2 version, and it would be good to have a number I could point to and say "if it's at least this high, you need to downgrade."
Here we go,this is what i got after the update:
Firmware revision number 7.10.8107.79
Hardware revision number 23.15.0.8
Radio software version 2424.11.12.1
Radio hardware version 0.0.0.800
Bootloader version 6.1.2.0
Hope it helps, since update i was unable to unlock using windowbreak.

@GoodDayToDie: would it be possible to use the ROM Update Utility to flash my omnia w?
Daniel
I don't know; ROM flashing isn't my thing (I'm still on a stock ROM). I strongly suggest you go look at the Omnia [7] forum, if you can't find an Omnia W forum, and ask how to re-flash the ROM. Alternatively, you could try searching (using Google/Bing, since the forum's search tool is down). You could also look at the XDA-Devs wiki; a lot of this sort of info is stored there.
Here you are
OS: Windows Phone 7.5
Date: 2011 November
PDA: I8350XXKK4
CSC: I8350PLSKK4
Download: Click HERE
This ROM is from Poland, unfortunately it's the only ROM I could find for your phone. Anyway this shouldn't give you any kind of problem.
How to flash:
- Extract the archive
- Open the folder Downloader and run WP7_Downloader_Ver_3.8_for_Secure_and_SMD_change_Parttiton_and_Support_Retail_binary.exe as Administrator
- Click on PDA and choose PDA_I8350XXKK4_REV0.nb0
- Click on CSC and choose CSC_I8350PLSKK4.csc
- Click on Phone and choose PHONE_WEMBLEY_16002402_open_KK1_rev00_RC1.bin
- Click on Eboot and choose EBOOT_I8350XXKK4_REV0.eb0
- Put your phone in Download Mode (Turn it off and press Volume Up Key + Camera Key + Power).
- Plug in your phone, wait until the program finds the phone and then click Start
If the program doesn't find the Phone, then you need to install Samsung USB Drivers: Download HERE
hey AshleyT
i tried all you said exactly that order but nothing worked:
picture as attachment
Have i made a mistake?
Uhm... Everything seems correct
Try these USB drivers:
Samsung USB Driver v1.3.2300
Uninstall the old ones before installing these!
Also, I found another revision on that firmware, if you have the same error with the new drivers, try with this other one:
http://hotfile.com/dl/142699209/c6a2bc7/I8350XXKK4_XEKK4_SERKK4.rar.html
i have samsung omnia w with frmware v7720 and diagonisis ver 1109 in which the window break method does not get applied...so for this reason i want to downgrade my phone...is possible to use windows support tool for downgrading to earlier windows ver i.e. NoDO because i dont have any backup of it so i cant even reterive it with zune
i've now tested the new drivers and the new rom that you posted.
It seems not to work! Same problem as before, no way out! I think samsung provided with kk2 an update that blocks all possibilities to "hack" this phone.
2nd gen devices (like Omnia W) can't be downgraded to NoDo because they didn't even exist before Mango!
Anyway 7720 is the OS version, not the firmware.
You can always try the ROM that I posted above and see if you're able to apply WindowBreak on it

Well, my Samsung Omnia 7 also received KK2 update which blocked the possibility to use WindowBreak, but I was able to flash even a custom ROM, so I don't really think that the problem is realted to the firmware.
Are you sure that you're in bootloader mode?
You can also try the procedure on another computer, but I don't know what else I could suggest you, because I didn't have any problem on my Omnia 7!

Are the bootloader mode and the download mode the same? First you mentioned i've to go to the download mode (vol. up + cam. + power).
If that's true i am in the right mode.
I'm interested in downgrade my Omnia W too. I found this. I hope that it helps, but i think, that it's only for upgrade...
Can i make a custom frimware for 2nd gen devices???
Since you'd need to unlock the bootloader before you could install it, a custom firmware for gen2 phones isn't yet a useful project...
So i tried it with later drivers and Poland Firmware and it seems that it doesn't works.. Still the same firmware.
@WooDoo.CZ: don't you forget to ckeck the checkboxes from PDA, Phone, Eboot & Phone Boot. Unless you check these, i think it won't send any files to your wp7 device...
Sorry boys. So I did it again and now i checked it. And same problem as you had.
edit:
I found this. Anybody should try it. I don't have time right now.

i tried now what you found. For me it didn't seem to work! Error: md5 checksumm not valid for both of the roms mentioned before in this threat.

Hello folks,
I know there are a lot of threads going around that cater to this topic but I had just one little question. I have an Omnia 7 (8107, updated via zune) which is developer unlocked (no interop).
Is there any way, or will there be any way via which I can put custom accent colors on my phone?
I loved doing that using advanced config but I flashed my rom & all the changes I made were lost.
Also I loved having the 3g/2g toggle button, but ever since I flashed the new rom & updated it is no longer there. Is there anyway by which I can get back the toggle?
Thanks!
Why didn't you interop-unlock again? You can still use Advanced Config or similar apps if you do...
Use WindowBreak or any of the Interop-Unlock apps. If your firmware is incompatible, roll back first using Zune (it should be the last update, so easy to restore).
Hi, Thanks for replying. I don't want to roll back because I am unable to! I have a backup restore but my phone never restores to that point (gives me a weird error, I don't remember the code right now, my phone reboots twice and the restore fails giving me an error code. I did some digging around but didn't find anything useful)
It's the same story with ALL the restores that I have, I cannot roll back to any of those. Does windowbreak work on 8107?
Thanks for replying!
I said firmware, not OS (7.10.8107 is an OS build version). 8107 doesn't matter one way or the other, but some phones get a firmware update (Samsung's KK2 update) that disables hacks like WindowBreak and the other Interop Unlock tools.
Oh okay
my specs are :
PDA : i8700xxkk2
phone : i8700xxki1

So I guess, I have the kk2 which won't let me run windowbreak or any other tools. Am I right?

japmeet, unfortunatly kk2 was just to break the project, nothing more.
I have an Omnia 7 and i can give you two advices about what i did:
A)First, i have downgrade to 7.0.7004.0 and run windowbreak or chevronwp7 and then u can update,i suggest manually to 8107 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1306415
B) I also tried after downgrade to 7.0.7004.0, done a clean reset and tried the custom already unlocked roms:
mi7ROM from mirolg: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1499102
xda-devs from ceesheim: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1533229
Maybe you can try it!
Thanks for replying but doing so will result in a loss of my text messages which I don't want to go through again. I think I'll wait until the devs come up with something that can break the kk2's defences. Thanks!
Hi Guys
I'm on the orange UK rom for Samsung Omnia 7 and this provider currently isn't going to release the Tango update.
Two questions:
Firstly is it possible to make my phone eligible for the update via changing registry settings (my phone is unlocked and ready to rock and roll) or through the cab update method (I can't find reference to the latest cab version number and instructions on the forum - I've cab updated to 7.10.8107.79 currently)
Secondly - of I can't do anything suggested above I don't mind wiping and starting with a new rom so is there a different english ROM that will be eligible to get all the updates?
Thanks!
CAB updater allows you to forcibly install updates directly. Follow the instructions carefully.
I recently had my Orange Galaxy S2 i9100P unlocked by the local phone shop.
The unlocking worked fine, but I have now noticed that it has been rooted too.
It has a superuser app installed, which he said he didn't realise it had installed.
Not sure that I want it to be rooted when I sell it as it might put off potential buyers.
So I called the shop and asked if it has to be rooted to unlock it and he said that it does.
He said that the other way to unlocked it is to use a code but that system is currently down (the website that gives out codes) and it would cost £26 instead of the £10 that I paid to have it unlocked using root. I asked him if I could unroot it by flashing with the standard Orange firmware (using Keis) and he said yes I could and that would unroot it. When asked that if this would then lock it again he said that no it shouldn't, but he didn't seem too sure about what he was saying.
So some specific questions:-
1) Did he have to root it to unlock it?
2) Did it have to be left in root once unlocked?
3) Can I unroot it and return to standard firmware (using Keis) and it still remain unlocked?
4) If the answer to 3) is no, then can I delete / uninstall the superuser app?
5) When I run the superuser app, there is a temp unroot option. What does that do? Can I use that to unroot it?

1. Yes root was required to unlock from the carrier. Or else you had to pay full price to get the unlock.
2. Not exactly! If he made a permanent change then no need, But if he's using something dependent to unlock it then it needs to be rooted.
3. Not sure, cause if the stock Orange firmware finds the phone as locked it might re-lock it again. So there's a risk. If you can find a fresh carrier free firmware for your model why not flash that?
4. I used SuperSU there's an unroot button there but nothing that says 'Temporary'. But if the root binaries are once flashed I'm not sure that gets rid of it.
Just trying to be helpful.

That is an option. But Last time I looked (a few years back) I couldn't find any i9100P specific unbranded firmware. There was i9100 firmware, but that didn't support the i9100P NFC chip.

My app is just called "superuser" and is at v3.1.3. I suppse that I could try the temp unroot and see what happens.
Yes, I'm saying there might be some app keeping the unlock alive. Cause that's how I unlocked my iPhone 4, quite a lot of times. :3
And you should search again for unofficial rom.
And also try the temporary unroot button.
Rightho, I have now moved over to the S5 and I would like to get my S2 ready for sale.
Someone mentioned earlier that Keis might not recognise the device. Well you are correct it doesn't and will not let my flash. I does not recognise it as a Samsung device.
So I would like some generic I9100P firmware that supports NFC.
I would also like to unroot the device.
Current firmware is V4.1.2
Baseband version is I9100PBVLS2
Kernel is 3.0.31 - 1246097
[email protected] - 109 #3
SMP PREEMPT Tue Jun 4 15:49:20 KST 2013
Build number is JZO54K.I9100PXXLSS
I do not get a yellow warning triangle so I assume that it is a secure kernel.
So can anyone help me to:-
1) Unroot the device.
2) Get it so that Keis will talk to it again.
3) Keep it unlocked
4) Get a secure kernel if mine is insecure.

Flash a custom recovery through Odin and then backup your current Rom. And then find flashable-zip official firmwares and then flash and see results. If anything goes wrong revert back to the old firmware.
The solution seems to be to download and install firmware XXLSU Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
This will install a generic unlocked stock ROM and generic firmware, which is just what I need.
See here.

I have founf some working links but this is for Spanish / French versions. Will these be OK?

Keep in mind to use the firmware with the right "MODEM" version. SamMobile offers the firmware version(s) you are looking for. BUT don't risk flashing another firmware, if its much more easy. Install "SuperSU" from the play store. Open it an switch ROOT to "SuperSU", you will be prompted to uninstall the current superuser (root). Accept it. Reboot your phone. Open SuperSU and perform "Complete Unroot". Thats it
Ok that will unroot it but stay with orange firmware and be re-locked to orange?
I was wanting a generic ROM and firmware that supports NFC.
SamMobile has the I9100PXXLSU firmware which I believe I need. However, it has 2 versions:-
Date Country/Carrier Version PDA CSC MODEM
2013 August France 4.1.2 I9100PXXLSU I9100PXEFLS3 I9100PXXLS8
2013 August Spain (Vodafone) 4.1.2 I9100PXXLSU I9100PATLLS6 I9100PBULS3
Should I be concerned about the carrier / country?
You say get the correct MODEM version but how do I know what the correct one is?
My current details are:-
PDA: I9100PXXLSS
PHONE: I9100PBVLS2
CSC: I9100PPORALS6
Please can someone just tell me where I can get a generic ROM / firmware and tell me which one I should be using.
It all seems to be riddles and cryptic clues.
I am confident of downloading the ROM / firmware using ODIN, but I just want to know what to download.

Vodafone firmware is Vodafone branded, so i won't use it as its probably highly customized by vodafone. The France version should not have a branding. You can check your modem version in Android: "Settings-->about Phone". If you get you right, you want to sell a branded phone as unbranded and potentially next owner may not know. sounds not very good
I was just trying to get rid of all the ornage bloatware. If someone wants to use a different network operator, they might not want all the orange stuff on there. I was certainly not wanting to trick anyone. I suppose I could just unroot it and leave it as it is (it is obviously an orange branded phone as it has orange logos on it). Or I could just download the standard orange ROM / Firmware and return it to stock. My worry is that this will lock it again. I keep asking this question but no one seems to give me a straight answer if it will or not. Maybe it is an unknown. As I am a newby I have no idea.

I suppose its hard to say, because no one but the shop owner exactly knows what method was used to unlock the phone. Thats the reason why there is no guarantee that the unlock survives a firmware flash. If you just want to get rid of unwanted apps, you can use "Titanium Backup" to uninstall whatever you want. I would never use a non rooted phone again, so may be the new owner is happy that its already rooted
