that being said, now for the fun stuff
i take no credit for any of this other than typing(incdoes leaked most of these port bases). i am just posting links to roms i found in inc forum with the instructions for porting to evo from incs blog. just trying to initiate some more rom development. i am still trying to decide which i will be working on...but this is open source so i just put it here for evo users/devs to view and get porting

HOW TO PORT INC ROM TO EVO
-excerpt from incdoes blog-
Okay, to run an INC ROM on your EVO would be simple. There will be a few broken 'stuff' e.g. bt, wifi etc... but easy fixes!
First you will need the INC ROM you desire to run on your EVO. Now, if its an "INC Sense ROM" you will need a "EVO Sense Kernel" and if it's an AOSP ROM then you will need a AOSP kernel.
Now there will be a few things you will need to replace on the INC ROM to make it run on your EVO:
~We are going to use a sense 2.2 rom as an example~
"so grab these files from any EVO sense ROM, preferable stock 2.2 EVO"
- boot.img (for your phone to bootup)
- system/usr (for buttons)
- system/lib/hw (for lights)
- system/lib/modules (for wifi)
- system/etc/vold.stab (for sdcard readable)
- build.prop (for market and LED's fix)
please note: some prop files include different edits that can break market/data/network/LED's... but then again, easy fixes!
Now you have an INC Sense ROM and 'all the files listed above pulled from an EVO Sense rom, you will have to add/replace the files pulled from the EVO ROM into the INC ROM, sign the .zip and flash (via recovery).
Should/will bootup if its based on the same firmware i.e. 2.2 INC ROM and 2.2 EVO ROM.

I had a idea, the Incredible version of the normal LiquidE ROM (not the sense hybrid) seems to have incoming calls working unlike our Evo version. What if we tried porting it using this method, anyone think that might work?

this is dev, just like any here i put it up for you to try this out yourself(opensourcewin)...let us know how it goes, this is simple please report findings. this could turn into a sweet beta rom thread with a little help...

Edit: I realized the boot.img would be for a sense rom, and nexus is aosp. So i can rip the boot.img from cyanogen out and stick it in the nexus rom and it'll purr?

OHHH I wish I had patients!! Quite the opposite actually.....just a really busy life.....but I may try to start tonight anyway .

So im flashing a nexus rom right now, that i switched out all the stuff + threw in a cyanogen kernel.
If this thing bricks...

UPDATE: It booted up, but it doesnt register any touch on the touch screen. LOL.
Hmmm maybe if.. Any ideas guys? I switch some other stuff around too. Maybe i can figure this out...
UPDATE: I flashed netarchy universal kernel and now the touch works, i cant get any signal, i dunno what stuff needs to be switch out from GSM to CDMA.
Wifi WORKS! I dont have a keyboard for some reason, so i cant enter my password to test it but it looks to be fine. And since i have no internet connection i cant get astro to install one from my SD haha.

I flashed over sky raider 3.3 final and every thing is perfect. Theres a uncommon sense patch which I also ported because I remember reading that on the hd Rom the ego didn't like the 4 signal bars. Only thing not exactly right is the camera. It doesn't have the capture button but I can take pics by holding a finger on the screen. Video is a no go due to not having the nature button. This Rom is the smoothest I've used and I'm a flash a holic so I've used them all.

So if I use the flash patch do I need to do any of the other stuff listed in the op(replacing files)?

Sweet Magnus, may have to get back to you details of what i find wrong. But i got a porject due next week for school. I have to record us BMXing this weekend. Then make an edit. If i get that sweet alone time in the eveing, i'll be sure happy to port all three and give findings.

My flashpatch is the same thing,
This post is what i dont want to happen, like i said before there is no point in repacking a whole new zip file when we can just have a flash over patch zip that does all the work for us.

[PORT][ROM]LeWa Rom (extremely early alpha, further development done by EminSG)

This is just a quick 30 minutes port, i saw a tutorial on how to port LeWa to CM7, but it failed actually so i screwed a bit around with the files and got it booting, I'm not gonna continue any development on this rom, so don't ask me for anything, I have broodROM to take care of already XD
couldn't decide to take the ROM tag or the JOKE tag, since it actually runs i chose for the ROM tag
If you're really bored atm this might be fun to test, else don't even waste your time on it , I actually did no effort at all to make it bugfree, just wanted to get it running
What is not working, almost everything that is needed for daily use
To get past the lockscreen you need to press the home key and then tap menu and back a few times, only this way you will unfreeze the screen. So this is just a fun test, since it sucks so hard to actually use as rom (because of all the bugs, not the rom itself)
Installation:
1. install arco's recovery
2. install the zip in recovery
3. wipe /data and /cache and boot
if you want some laughter you could hold logcat next to it, the errors list is humongous.

I think this LeWa ROM could be a good port, it's has a nice MIUI like design and is extremely lite,
I got it booting pretty easily, so I think a actual port could be made, just like MIUI but of course with the known bugs of CM7!
I'm starting to hate the fact that the i9001 doesn't even have proper AOSP support more and more, If broodROM would be built on AOSP it would be ****ing great , samsung really screwed up their baseroms (if you only look at rom size and ram usage)

[UNCONFIRMED] ICS Source Code for SGSLCD

Hi guys, if you would like to comment or update about the source code samsung released "GT-I9003_ICS_Opensource_Update2.zip", please do it here as we might end up flooding CM9's Dev page. Samsung developing a complete ICS rom for our device is not possible, just forget it.
Our hope is that this is the test version they tried.

First up we do not need crappy Samsung software that makes ICS look like gb. One thing is for certain that Samsung wont be releasing any ICS rom for our device. If this is some kind of source code of ICS for our device then I guess a few lib files would help. The value pack didn't help dhiru in anyway, I hope this helps him out a little. There are just a few minor bugs in the CM9 rom by dhiru which will be fixed soon, hopefully. CM team is going to release a stable ICS SC and after that they wont be working on ICS (not sure about this) as they are shifting focus to CM10.

Anyway .. all these hour we are predicted without any confirm ..
What I think is real ics source which it the best thing in world ..
Just we need confirm and try from dev which will be around time ..
If it real that mean we will have most stable room that mix stock with it ..

The thing I feel is that.. .
When they ll be building official ICS for our phone , they might have achieved quite close to a stable fw but as everybody know that due to Samsung touchwiz the ram consumption would be very high and they might have left the development of the Rom.
But I feel still its the complete ics fw otherwise why would they upload source code for an incomplete fw.

Let's just wait until someone with some knowledge discovers what version this actually is, i would be very disappointed if it wasn't ICS, the naming got many people excited.

why would they be naming it ics open source if it wasnt ics...duh

In the readmekernel it names to new kernel XXXXX GINGERBREAD....so..i doubt ics

Guys dont u think so that we are discussing un-necessary things...!! It look like we have got a lottery ticket & we are discussing that shall we get money from that ticket or not.
Whatever this source is but dhiru & other experienced developer will check & they will tell us whether it is useful or not Till then have some patience...! Just wait & watch...!

but without a doubt all recent and coming development started because of him

Actually it all started because of wkpark and his omap4boot.
After his tool was made the rest was easy stuff because i could try everything and no matter how many things went wrong and even if i bricked my phone 100 times i could omapboot my phone and fix it.
Porting ICS after that was only a few tests.
What really helped me with ICS was that in the past i had fixed with teamviewer plenty of SU760 phones for fellow xda members and knew that these phones were compatible because i had SU760 Gingerbread ROMS running in my P920 in the past.
I just happened to have free time those 4 days and was tired of reading posts regarding LG not releasing ICS for P920 all these months and no unofficial progress was made so i just decided to port it because until then i was playing with my SONY.
Thats the whole story.. nothing more nothing less.
So all thanks should go to wkparks for making it safer for all of us to run new things without the fear of getting bricked.
All ROMS are nice, kernels are nice, overclocks are great, smoothness tricks are cool etc etc but an unbricking tool (combined with necessary knowledge on how to use it) is the biggest development that happened for this device.
Regarding this ROM once again a great job from iBluemind.

At first, it's android 4.1.2. Moreover, it's Cyanogen (it's one of the best ROMs, clean Android with improvements).

Is it rather stable? are you planing to release an alpha?

Will it be as simple as installing from .zip using clockwork?

To use ICS roms you have to upgrade to ICS first.
As for roms, it's all personal opinion what is best. If HDMI/lapdock support isn't essential for you, I would recommend CM10.

Uhh..no CM10 is actually really stable. There are a couple really minor bugs left.. but it's Jelly Bean so it's smooth as butter (project butter) and is well worth the tiny bugs.

yeah, cm10 is very stable.. no random reboots or anything for me.. sure it has a few bugs, but nothing to stop you from using it as your daily driver. Actually what keeps making me go back to cm10 is that its so friggin smooth and ofcourse the little customisations you can do and themes..
For the OP, I dunno much about the GB roms, but id recommend both cm10 and and magicmod with performance and customisations in mind and that they are JB based
If you want full functionality, then all the ICS roms are good, just read thru the threads for the ROMs and devs description and screenshots and try the one according to need.. the latest one is numa and the first one is SCV7 which still is one of the best roms for our phone on ICS. If you ask me, you'll know which one to use only after youve flashed enough
Also remember to read the devs description of the ROM and how to flash properly, cause you need to use different recoveries for different ROMs. So better if you read up as much as you can. Do keep a backup of your stock ICS on ur sdcard, (i have like 3 now stock, cm10, numa) but you know how it goes, since youre already on a ROM..
Mostly youre gonna love your phone more after you get on ICS and flash one of the ICS and JB roms. Happy flashing !

yes.. I got Optimus G Lets see how it works out. I was actually about to recommend your rom to this guy.. So was checking your both roms. Anyway We will meet again. I was off the development for sometime as I had SGS2 (I9100), It had so many roms that I did nothing. But Now as I'm on LGOG may be I might need to cook. if time permits.

I loved Victory Rom. I'm sad to hear there wont be another one for my A2
CM10 doesn't have a functioning camera? doh
