Nice job ,
p720 is waiting
Using the SU760 kernel i guess
Nice!
Wonder if you will put on the entire source on github
gr8 work
Theorycally, if is possible to port CM10 on 3.0.21 kernel, i guess will be possible to port 4.2 too, is worth a try?
I 'm downloading entire android sources and i will do experiments
The know bugs of keyboard and maybe camera will remain, i guess the more of the work will be centered on selecting right libs and right system files.. just guessing
lol the O3D is funny Damn Whole year not much on the DEV Front And Them Bamn ICS CM9 JB Unbrick. Many had the O3D a Few Will get to enjoy It .

Yeah yeah man i know that
just thought i mention other devs too
but without a doubt all recent and coming development started because of him
Actually it all started because of wkpark and his omap4boot.
After his tool was made the rest was easy stuff because i could try everything and no matter how many things went wrong and even if i bricked my phone 100 times i could omapboot my phone and fix it.
Porting ICS after that was only a few tests.
What really helped me with ICS was that in the past i had fixed with teamviewer plenty of SU760 phones for fellow xda members and knew that these phones were compatible because i had SU760 Gingerbread ROMS running in my P920 in the past.
I just happened to have free time those 4 days and was tired of reading posts regarding LG not releasing ICS for P920 all these months and no unofficial progress was made so i just decided to port it because until then i was playing with my SONY.
Thats the whole story.. nothing more nothing less.
So all thanks should go to wkparks for making it safer for all of us to run new things without the fear of getting bricked.
All ROMS are nice, kernels are nice, overclocks are great, smoothness tricks are cool etc etc but an unbricking tool (combined with necessary knowledge on how to use it) is the biggest development that happened for this device.
Regarding this ROM once again a great job from iBluemind.

At first, it's android 4.1.2. Moreover, it's Cyanogen (it's one of the best ROMs, clean Android with improvements).
Is it rather stable? are you planing to release an alpha?

Why does everyone seem to think that simply because the processor is the same, the rom can be ported? It also depends on the baseband i/c, amount of ram, optimisations, partitions etc... while most can be resolved pretty easily, it's still very difficult to guarantee the port will actually be stable enough. The best course of action imo is to wait if you want ICS/CM9, or ask the developers of <rom> to port it for us
rootzwiki.com that's the site where all those smart guys uploaded AOKP ICS for many many devices including LG Nitro .You know what i like my O3D it's such a nice phone but there's no support from developers and i'm asking why ?? for example Samsung I9000 (my girlfriend has it) has plenty of roms all based on ICS .Anyway check that website rootzwiki.com maybe we all O3D users need to asked them nice and politly let's do something , we need some action for christ sake i need new ics rom i'm crawing for it like a junky need drugs i need ICS !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have an idea for every O3d user let's go to rootzwiki and let's ask them to help us to port one of their roms i mean Aokp ICS .I already did it , i registred myself and in development section i started new topic "ICS for O3D" why don't You go overthere and just ask them let's do some action ,because i'm sick and tired that we are stucked with GB bull**** we have to push things up LET'S DO IT

If you just Google "Project Butter", you'll find a ton of links about it. They will prob do a better job explaining than I will but I can try.
From what I understand, project butter was one of the major changes Google made from ics to jb. It is meant to make the phone quicker and more responsive by making some tweaks to GPU rendering I think and some other things. The team that released Cm10 for the infuse tried to include the code but it caused stability issues on our phone. It did make the phone seem "snappier" but it would randomly freeze so they had to remove the code.
I'm sure there is a lot better information to b found on the web.

I just tried to flash it a couple times but couldn't get past the Samsung Logo. I tried once straight from CM10 and then once after first flashing an ics rom to get blue ics recovery.
Could just b user error but I used the same method as I always do. Full wipes then install. Maybe it was a bad download. I didn't do a MD5 check.

LMFAO:silly:
Just food for thought... CM10 is still in the early development stages.. Its probably a bad idea to start "porting" other ROMs since the actual files that are MEANT for our phone are still being worked on. For project butter, it involves updating the PVR drivers. JT had ported the code over from the crespo kernel to update the PVR drivers, but something seemed to conflict with it as it had random freeze ups. The reason this hasnt been fixed yet, is it is a HUGE change.. Literally hundreds of lines of kernel codes are changed/removed/added so its not a simply thing to pinpoint. Entropy is taking a look this weekend as he found some things to be a mess.
Also, you might want to give some credit in your OP... ALOT of people including myself worked incredibly hard to bring CM10 to the infuse, so its the least you could do for using it as your base.
First off, congrats on getting the port to work, but I have to agree with pretty much everything Scott said. Unfortunately what you mention trying to accomplish is going to take more than just zipping a few files over the top of an existing ROM.
As a good rule of thumb it is always advisable to get permission from the original source if you are going to use it in your build, and from the sounds of Scott's post this hasn't happened. We all like new things and all are trying to improve or phone experience, but it is important to be respectful of the time and effort of those that have come before.
Food for thought as you continue your endeavors and best of luck to you.

Hi Guys,
Can we share / Suggest which ROM we are using..??
As we know Many questions will arise:
Q. 1) Why I made this thread..??
A. For sure, We can discuss here what features we are availing in which ROM.:good:
Q. 2) Who will be most beneficial for this thread..??
A. 2 .Specially Noobs / Newbies will come to know that Which ROM are suitable for them & why.
Just like me:
I am using Angeek ROM. Its Awesome in Battery Life. Using MIUI home launcher in it, looking like real one. But I am unable to flash Ardatdat's new kernels due to some changes done in this ROM.
Don't know what is in my Mind Now but I thought we should share our thoughts here.
This thread is not Made to Dominate our Dev's. If any Dev feels so then I can ask MOD to Close this one.
Also, Note that "You're sharing opinions, not facts." Any suggestion would be welcomed. :highfive:
Just something to keep in mind with threads like these, Vikesh:
This thread should not be used to 'advertise' any one Developer's products. I have no issue with the thread staying, provided this is the only one made, and that it's used by you guys to simply share what ROMs you're using. No links etc.
Posting what works for you is fine. Posting 'why would you use that crap' though, is most definitely not.
Remember, this is a subjective thread. You're sharing opinions, not facts.
Keep that in mind, and enjoy :good: I'll keep an eye out here, too.

Yeah u are rite games r much smoother in gb as compared to ics.
currently on BlueBerry ROM 1.2, found it very stable and with no major bugs. and right now really in Love with Sensation theme of BB (though there is no blue in this theme still it is called BB )
Since it is an opinion oriented thread, I would like to say few word about other ROMs which I have tried so far.
Mazel 2 : It felt very smooth with different animations and theming, though it had bugs but now it has been resolved.
Suggestion : Hoping Selva to release next ROM based on XXLQ9.
Angeeks : This ROM is very Powerful (Battery life :good::good, bug-free and smooth,
Suggestion : Make it kernel friendly and ability to update GAPPS via Play Store.

Using Stock Nordic ICS ROM (XXLQ9) with ardatdat 4.0 kernal...
I wanted to be stock completely coz currently this is my primary phone and i can't experiment/tests softwares on it but to avoid eMMC bug risk i've switched to ardatdat 4.0 kernal which is stock kernal without eMMC bug....
Issues i'm facing :
1. Battery backup is not as convincing as GB
2. Games like Temple run often lags.. i play this lot so a bit frustrated
3. Network reception seems bad compared to GB
4. Some other minor issues

its all right buddy. actually this thread is being watched by our great MOD "Justin". So, any comment which is not acceptable by him can close this whole thread. Thats why I said you buddy. I didn't mean that..Sorry If I hurt you..:crying:
I'm using TheFrankenstain mod 4.0.2 with some custom additions like BlueBerry mod or my kernel and I'm very satisfied with it.
MIUI is also very good, I really like it.
Mazel II: It drains my battery because of the nice animations and transitions, so I cannot use it as I don't bring my charger.
GS3: It has very good conception behind it and it's quite promising despite the fact that the gallery and music doesn't work. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't have created a repack of it.

Using stock XXLQ9 . Just waiting for sensation rom port.
Used FrankensteinMod but was draining a lot of battery.

Buddy, its clear that we can not suggest the Rom as per rules decided by mod Justin. So u can see the users comment and can deside by ur self. Hard decision bt need to take alone.

Okay this question has been bugging me for a while now. Everyone is waiting on RC aka Ricardo AKA..... on getting the ported p990 to then be ported over to p999. We have many fine Developers here like Eagleblood , Rafase282, tonyp, Kashamalaga and many MIA ones that may or may not return like nycelitemaster, owain94, x0xhellx0x and my favorite Mr. Apocalypse.
My question is simple and would love one of these guys to answer it if possible.
Why are we waiting for RC to port it over when anyone of you guy have done it before. Am I wrong when saying that most of you have ported P990 over to P999 before? I respect everyone I have named. You have brought new life to my G2X. JUst wondering why we wait for RC, like he is the only one who can do this. Please if I am missing something let me know. thanks
I believe they are waiting for a more stable release of CM10 for the P990 before they bother to port it over for the P999. They should have many of the same bugs that need to be worked out. There is no need to do it twice.
I felt the same thing. Can some of the Developers list above or others I missed confirm this? Maybe this can stop or slow down the rants. The only reason I feel it may not be a difficult thing to do it because of this guys post...
Lezo OS
Hello everyone.
This is a port of the P990 Lezo OS a CM based rom. I am not a developer, just someone who was lucky enough to have this work It's just another piece of a so called "Crack Flashing Series". There are plenty of roms provided to our community, and this also brings people with different likes and dislikes. I aim only to share some of the other roms out there with the community. Maybe you want to try something out inbetween updates from your favorite rom, well, try this.
None of this would out be possible without the help of guides from dubntz and blindndumb. If you like any of the ports thank them as well.
This guy has done it before with other p990 Roms with little experience.
When we were on Cm7 we were able to port roms by using the already created cm7 base. The problem now is we don't even have a P999 cm10 base to port with, which is why we're waiting on RC since he needs to create the base.

That seems to make sense. thanks. Can any Developers confirm this. Is RC truely the only one? Or is he just the only one with the spare time to help us? thanks
We need kernel and some of the drivers for our device which only ricardo has for jb. Like all of you, i am myself waiting for it. I might be moving on to nexus4 depending on money in hand. 16gb will run for almost $400 after tax.

Don't we already have the drivers and Kernal? They are part of p990 and then don't they just need to port it over.
More then likely it would be easier to port tonyps experimental ics. We can compile a kernel for it and have the drivers. We just need the experience lol

Here's what I think based off what I have read:
I think first and foremost, our Dev's who all own P990's are working in wrapping their wits around the sources for their phones, us and our G2x's are the red-headed step-children (figuratively) of LG. The phone has potential, but gets little attention. I also believe that the Devs are waiting for a kernel to be built with the new sources, which those sources have to be altered to work with the G2x, as they did for the O2x. Something which I don't think our Devs want to do. I may be wrong, but I would think that Bene, or Dj V. have the know-how to do it. Again, we're back to the fact that they're (understandably) going to do work for their phones first.

As far as I know, the kernel sources for su660 has some issues compiling kernel for p999. It can be one of the reason why we don't have cm10 yet. I believe the developers are working on it. Also the kernel source comes with locked boot loader. So its essential to port old boot loader which is not locked to the new kernel. This might also be preventing other developers from building kernel. If I have time, I will try to see if I can compile the kernel with old boot loader or not this weekend. I am a full time science student. I think to port the p990 ROM we just need a p999 kernel and some p999 specific drivers such as ril drivers. I do hope the cm10 comes asap though. I might be wrong.
While I do not consider myself a developer, I thank you for listing me there. I personally do not have the time and knowledge required to build a cm10 base for the p999 based off the p990. The kernel and rom needs to be change to work for our phones. Also as it was said already, it would make no sense to make an early port, based on RC work which will most likely piss him off if we start kanging and using his work while it is not even stable enough to build for our phone. So I would say that out of respect and time/knowledge required most people able to make the port would either wait for help debugging the p990 version so it can be ported to other devices without the same issues to be fixed twice or more times.
In order to port you need a current rom with jb drivers for our phone. Porting will rip the kernel out of our rom and plug it into the ported rom. Thus why we can't port yet.

A regular port from one rom to another with a CM base is mostly replacing a bunch of files with the ones you which to port while keeping the specific libs and files for your particular device, so besides the kernel, you need to make a compatible base if there is not one, then the proprietary blobs and editting files to fix issues. Porting can be very easy or very hard depending what you want to port.
who wants a kernel?
I've posted a kernel built from the cm10 lge-kernel-star repo in the dev thread, maybe somebody feels like taking it for a spin.
was wonder why the mixed results on the p990 CM 10 by RC then it hit me they have like 14 basebands. Things should be better for us we only have 2.

In theory, I believe that a main issue for our guys did have to do with the absence of lge_star_ril being not present in the sources. That then caused the data, Gps, and battery issues.

Which is the problem for the G2x when it comes to Wifi Calling for example...the Kinecto .ko is a GB module at best. Same goes for the Tegra HDMI blob(whch I monkeyed around a very LONG time with);thankfully the P990 has the same HDMI blob. We will never have as good of a port as the P990 because at least the P990 has a ICS leak so kangers for P990 can use modules that work better in ICS leak in CM while all we have to build on is GB blobs and libs.
(PS:awesome avatar...ochem was a long time ago so I can't figure out the formula and nice use of -ase in your name!)

Is the lge_star_ril something LG was supposed to have included? From my (limited) kernel knowledge, that bit seems pretty vital to having a properly working phone.
Without it, how hard is it going to be to get working calls/data/gps without having serious battery and quality issues as you've alluded to?
It was missing from the old sources, and yea, like I said alot of the deal-breaking issues were due to that, the ICS (which I think was already hacked) was hacked into JB.

Hi Guys,
I'm currently on 2.3.6 VictoryRom v1.1 which new ROM has ICS and will give me the best performance?
Will it be as simple as installing from .zip using clockwork?
Thanks for the help!

To use ICS roms you have to upgrade to ICS first.
As for roms, it's all personal opinion what is best. If HDMI/lapdock support isn't essential for you, I would recommend CM10.

Cm10 roms are not stable.you can update to stock pics and root your phone.then pimp it(using pimpmyrom) free in play store.

Uhh..no CM10 is actually really stable. There are a couple really minor bugs left.. but it's Jelly Bean so it's smooth as butter (project butter) and is well worth the tiny bugs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869692
yeah, cm10 is very stable.. no random reboots or anything for me.. sure it has a few bugs, but nothing to stop you from using it as your daily driver. Actually what keeps making me go back to cm10 is that its so friggin smooth and ofcourse the little customisations you can do and themes..
For the OP, I dunno much about the GB roms, but id recommend both cm10 and and magicmod with performance and customisations in mind and that they are JB based
If you want full functionality, then all the ICS roms are good, just read thru the threads for the ROMs and devs description and screenshots and try the one according to need.. the latest one is numa and the first one is SCV7 which still is one of the best roms for our phone on ICS. If you ask me, you'll know which one to use only after youve flashed enough
Also remember to read the devs description of the ROM and how to flash properly, cause you need to use different recoveries for different ROMs. So better if you read up as much as you can. Do keep a backup of your stock ICS on ur sdcard, (i have like 3 now stock, cm10, numa) but you know how it goes, since youre already on a ROM..
Mostly youre gonna love your phone more after you get on ICS and flash one of the ICS and JB roms. Happy flashing !
EDIT: i missed it, but better if you post questions in the Q&A thread..
Thanks for the reply. I'll try CM10.
When installing ICS, will all I need to do is install .zip Blur_Version.55.13.25.MB865.ATT.en.US.zip? for ICS leak#1 or will I have to downgrade first?

yes.. I got Optimus G Lets see how it works out. I was actually about to recommend your rom to this guy.. So was checking your both roms. Anyway We will meet again. I was off the development for sometime as I had SGS2 (I9100), It had so many roms that I did nothing. But Now as I'm on LGOG may be I might need to cook. if time permits.
anyway from my side a BIG THANK YOU to you and Jim.. for putting so much work on this tread.
I loved Victory Rom. I'm sad to hear there wont be another one for my A2
CM10 doesn't have a functioning camera? doh
