[Q] Android 4.0 tablet will not boot up - General Questions and Answers

I just bought an Android 4.0 tablet from china on Wednesday and it worked perfectly till today. Now when I try to power on the tablet, it only goes up to the android logo and stops there and will stay there for hours. There was a little reset button on the tablet and i pressed it but that didn't help. Can someone please help me fix it ?

Remove your battery and try...if not work then replace.usually chinees phones have short life...
Hit thanks if it helps....

Its a tablet. I don't know how to remove the battery and I'm pretty sure the lifespan of a Chinese tablet is not 2 days.

May be its because of boot loader problem..approach to the tablet service centre...
Hit thanks if it helps....

china tablet product...hahaha good luck

Well I had one before and it lasted a long time until my brother broke it so I thought I would buy a new one.

Acer 701 does not turn on

Hello everyone.
Probably someone could give me an advice?
I have been using 701 Iconia for about two weeks and it was more or less ok.
Today it just does not turn on at all... I tried to turn it on both without charger and with it with the same result...
Any ideas on what should I try before giving it away to service?
:crying:
Push the reset button with a pin after plugging in the charger. Maybe it crashed and lost its charge.

Thanks for the tip.
Unfortunately did not help :crying:
Tomorrow I had to give it away as a present... so unlucky..
Don't feel too bad, it happens to the best of us. I just had my Acer A510 replaced too. It spent a week in Acer support before they decided that my gyroscope issue was irrepairable. I now have a shiny new tab, with a better microsd cover and better screen responsiveness.

[Q] Help - dead N8010

Hi All,
I'm hoping somebody can help me here. I have an N8010 which is stuck on a constant reboot cycle.
It displays the "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" Logo and then blanks the screen. After a couple of seconds, then it redisplays the same logo.
It first did this on Thursday after being in use for about 30 Mins. The Tablet just hung and rebooted. It got stuck in this loop until somehow I managed to turn it off. After about an hour, it started up and worked OK, but I didn't try prolonged use.
This morning, it did the same thing, hung (Editing contacts) and rebooted. This time it started back up, but almost immediately id hung again and now it's stuck in the Reboot/Logo loop. I cannot even turn it off - It's just displaying the Logo.
I can press and hold Power/Vol Down to invoke Odin. Selecting Restart Phone just returns me to the loop.
Earlier I could press and hold Power /Vol up to invoke the Reboot/Reset screen and I have done a factory reset.
Oddly - Now I can no longer use the Power/Vol up combination to get to the reboot/reset screen, but I have managed to use it to turn of the tablet.
Occasionally there are a number of corrupted pixels flashing on the screen.
I am assuming that there is some sort of dry joint/bad connection that is warming up and causing these issues.
This Note has not been flashed with any software at all - It's stock.
Anyone seen anything like this before or should I just return it
Thanks in Advance
Steve
Return it, don't try to flash anything to it.

If it is under warranty and you are on your stock market rom then give it to a service center

Did you try to root it or flash another rom? If not just send it to service.

Thanks guys - No didn't try to root or flash at all. I'm waiting for the JB update to see if I need to.
It's working perfectly right now, While it was rebooting endlessly, I managed to get the battery display to appear - It seemed to be completely discharged. (85% a few minutes before) . So I connected it to the charger.
After 35 mins, the charge was showing 92% and it booted and has been running happily ever since.
Exactly what it did on Thursday - showed empty and then charged after about 30 mins.
I think I'll take it back and see if they'll swap it for one with the 3G. Hope that they don't have to send it away, it's gonna be my Christmas present
Steve
Good luck! Since you didn't flash a custom rom or anything, there's no reason you should have to deal with that stress.. Just return it and demand an exchange or something. If you got it at a store, they'd probably be happy to exchange it. If you got it online, it'd be a little harder and more delayed, but still doable! Good luck again!
Unfortunately there are lemons in all manufactured goods, looks like you got 1... I hope it doesnt sour your attitude towards a really good product, as long as it works....

[Q] My tablet seems to be bricked?

Hello people!
First of all; thank you very much for your time and effort in developing ROMS for all of my android devices. Keep up the good work :good:
Now, I just bought the galaxy tab 2 10.1 Wifi (p5110) a month ago. Naturally I didn't like the bloatware Samsung shipped with their default ROM.
So I started flashing some custom ROM's. All went flawless until yesterday.
I guess it's my own fault, but here's my situation:
Yesterday, in order to install the Zap Blaster rom, I installed TWRP.
Here is where i think it went wrong:
I Wiped the /system partition and then rebooted the device. Naturally it wouldn't boot up anymore. But I wasn't able to shutdown the device anymore and enter the Recovery (or so I may thought).
My next action was to drain the battery, in order to completely shutdown the device. But now it only shows a battery with a loading indicator.
I charged the device for 8 hours but it still only shows the battery with the loading indicator. This screen appears when I connect the tablet to a power source. I can then "hard"-shutdown the device, by pressing the power button for 10 secs.
Otherwise it isn't responding at all.
When I connect the device to my computer, it shows up as a omap4430 device, but it quickly disappears. Only to show the device again, and so on.
Can I save my tablet? Or do I need to send it to the Customer Service and pay for my "sins"?
Like to hear from you, and thanks in advance for your time!
Greetings!
P.S: Sorry if my English isn't that good, I did my best effort!
P.P.S: I know my tablet isn't complety bricked, but I didn't know any other word for it.
I just got done with that same problem, you. Can actually still power off your device from the battery logo.
Then you will have to hold the power and volume down to get into download mode and flash the stock rom using odin for windows or heimdall for Linux/mac.
If that dosent work then let me know i have another solution to ypur problem. I just meed to know if u can get into the download mode or not
Sent from my MB865 using xda app-developers app
Hope i can help

Whatever you do dont send it in quite yet. Try holding the power and volume down button and wait till the samsung logo comes up. keep holding them until the samsung logo a second time. If you can get into recovery mode i will be able to guide u from there. If that doesnt work i have one other idea too

[Q] moto g won't boot up

Hi, I have a moto g and since 2 days, I can't charge it and the the phone won't boot up. When I make the power and volume down sequence, and select normal startup, the motorola logo comes up and it make one vibration and stay like this, nothing else happens. Now do you think it's the battery's death? I'm looking for a new battery but I'm not sure it's the issue. My phone is warranty but I was so hurry that I open the phone to disconnect and reconnect the battery to see if it will work and I've broke a small piece of plastic on the plugin, it don't boderer anything but if they see that, they will probably void the warranty. Anyway, I don't want to wait a month to bring the phone at the companie also. The best for me is to buy a new batterie online and put it in, but if somebody can help me on what is the problem and if my new batterie will fix my phone. I hope somebody reply on this because I have very importants things on my agenda and I have to access to it as soon as possible. Thanks

Onda v919 Air 32GB wont boot past Onda logo

Hello,
I am a newbie on here. I have searched for an answer to my problem and I'm not really sure if I can fix the issue by flashing a new ROM or have the know how to be honest.
It is dual boot with windows 10 and android 4.4
After a week or so of use i was in android and it went blank, i assumed the battery went flat. On charging it gave me the option of booting to windows or android. I chose Windows and since then it wont boot past the onda logo. I have tried factory reset by holding down on button and volume down but it doesn't work. Nothing comes up bar onda logo on loop.
After contacting Deals Machine they have finally given me the option of sending back the tablet, with carriage at own expense and they will refund money or send replacement. Second option is keep tablet and get refunded 20% of money. Third option is keep tablet and pay half for another!
Oh i should say i have ordered an OTG usb cable to see if i can plug in a usb keyboard to press f8 for recovery options, as i assume its trying to boot to windows but i don't know if its getting far enough for this option.
I'm thinking i should cut my losses and send it back and get refund if carriage is a decent price.
I'm pretty gutted as this was for my sons birthday and it got such good reviews etc. And i flipping stayed up the whole night before his birthday changing it from Chinese to English. This was character building! no pun intended.
I'm very sorry if this has been covered elsewhere (i really have looked).
Any help and advice would be greatly received
Kind Regards
Brian
