Just freeze or uninstall the My Music 2.3.6 app, and get a new music player..

I need to remove it from the blurmusic
I do not need another player

I got My Music 2.3.6 and the Music Store is associated with that.. I assume BlurMusic is another version of My Music..
So, you want to pull out the Music Store out of the apk so it doesn't launch with the player? That would be nice.. Probably gotta edit some smali and/or xml files in the apk..
Sent from my mind using XDA
EDIT: My bad.. My Music is BlurMusic.
I wonder if you could just remove the Music Store entries from the android manifest xml?? I may mess around with it later 'cause i like the player, but can't stand that store popping on in the background...

Searching for the perfect music app

Alright, here's the story.
I come from the world of iPhone. I ditched the Jobs crapification of the mobile world in search of open source awesomesauce.I am SO happy with my move over to Android, I could kiss Gary Bussey... but I won't. Moving on...
The one thing I do missabout my iPhone is the media player. I listen to music via my phone all day long, and the android system seems to be lacking in the media playback department. Therefor, I'm calling on the masses to help me out.
I'm looking for a music player that incorporates two major things:
1. Gapless playback (No pause between tracks)
2. An equalizer
Is there anything out there for audiophiles like me, or are we stuck with laggy, almost-complete music apps?

Have you tried MixZing? I hear alot of good talk about it. I dont know that it has an equalizer or gapless playback but its worth a try.
My iPod doesn't have gapless playback. I know iTunes does though.

It was built into mine. When I told iTunes that an album was gapless and then synced it to my phone, it would play back gapless on the iPhone.
+1 MixZing

Alright. So I installed MixZing lite, and I love it so far... but heres an issue. All my music is in a folder on my SD card called "Music", then broken down in folder by Artist, then by albums.
After having MixZing search my library, it completed, and afterwards I added another album folder into my SD Card, but MixZing isnt recognizing that I have new music. Suggestions?

I would try going into the applications options and purging any saved data for mixzing, then fire the app back up and see if it recompiles the music db.
I like b tunes and also 3 search for rock on, both free on the market

theres a app called "sdscan" that scans the card and it should make the new album folder availible in the app.

The only option in there was to clear out the cache. Did so, but Mixzing wont recompile the db. I even tried removing it and re-adding the folder "Music", still doesn't see the new stuff.

[Q] How to take advantage of SRS with another player?

Hello!
I've got my Sensation yesterday
Loving it, despite of the bugsss
I see that Sensation can config SRS in the default player, wanna use it with speakers
But I rarely use the default player =\ .. mostly mSpot and I'm thinking of testing Google Music, both having their "custom" players
Is it possible to take advantage of SRS with any other streaming music player?
Or make the default player see the songs downloaded by mSpot? (yea.. I wasn't able to make it do that )
That's weird, cuz it can find musics downloaded by "MP3 Music Download". And it's not the codec either, it's m4a by mSpot.
Thanks in advance!
SRS and Dolby 5.1 are only available through stock apps from my experience. To get your media to show up in the stock app use an app that causes a new media search. SDRescan is free on the market. I use Extended Controls.

Thanks for your reply.
I tried the SDRescan, but it didn't work =\
I've also rebooted the phone.. it just doesn't see the mSpot folder -.-
I'm not familiar with mSpot. You say it stores m4a files on your phone? Try to look for the directory with Astro or Estrong. I'm betting they aren't there or are in a hidden directory. Make sure you set the file manager to show hidden files. Check mSpot to see if there is a setting that allows you to hide media from the Android system. Subsonic has a setting like that.
I did a test copying the mSpot file to another folder.. it was able to see the music
So I guess the file is not the problem
But still can't make it to scan mSpot folder

The files are there. Didn't find any setting like that.
I think I'm just gonna try Google Music (to sync) and play them with default player
Thanks, though!
Oh.. I found a file named ".nomedia" inside mSpot's folder
After deleted that file, it was able to scan the folder ^^
But the song's properties (song name, singer, album..) are encrypted, so they're all messed up XD can't use it!
Just gonna try Google Music..
Use Volume+.

That sucks man. DRM sucks. Yeah any folder with a file .nomedia or any folder that begins with a . is hidden from a media scan. The period first in the name is how you label a file or folder hidden in Linux.

[Q] Google Music

Hi,
Does anyone know where the Google Music app stores the downloaded music on the sd? I uploaded some music files to my Google Music account and my sensation made it available offline... as i know that means it downloaded the music on my phone.
I'm interested because i'm running on ARHD 3.1.6 with Beats and i want to use the stock music app. I certainly don't want to copy all my music on the sd card once more assuming the Google music app has already done that.
Or one way around, is it possible to use the Beats enhancement in the Google music app?
Thanks in advance

Google music doesn't store anything on your sd card that's the beauty of the program which is why it requires its own music player which acts like YouTube and streams your music. Unfortunately beats is not able to be accessed through a msound enhancer altho I believe that if you set beats on your music app then switch to google music the enhancement remains.

It does save to the SD card
SD/Android/data/com.google.Android.music/
In here you will find a "cache" folder and a "music" folder (music folder is created when you save music for off line use)
Thanks

Thanks, found it. Unfortunatly in that folder the files don't have their original names like "asd fgh - xyz.mp3" , theire stored as file1, file2, file3 etc..
Anyway now i just need a way to make the HTC Music app find them and play them.
Edit: There is a .nomedia file in that folder. Deleted and now i can play them in HTC Music app
nice im bout to do that

Hmm, doesn't seem to have any effect for me - I removed the .nomedia file and opened the music player, waited for it finish scanning my SD card, and the Google music cached songs don't appear. I can tap on the song in ASTRO and play it, but it's impossible to know what's what based upon file names. Wondering if maybe Google Music is stripping all tags from the music files and maintaining those tags independently so you're hooked into their player?

Manage music.

Hey guys.
I've been using Google play music since it came out, but I have a big problem with it and finally I've had enough.
Every time I want to try a new music player or use me music in other apps or so, Google play just doesn't allow me to do that.
I mean Play Music is a great app and a great service. But if I wanted "rules" like this I'd use an iPhone xD.
So I went ahead and started downloading my 6089 music to my computer, and now I'm looking for a program to manage and organize and decide which ones to copy to my phone.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
Do you use Google play music? Or have the same problem.

you can use any music player you want, but you can only play music stored in google play with google play. to think otherwise is borderline absurd. you cant play pandora in another app. can you?
Isn't Pandora a streaming service? The music files in Google play music are MY music files, so what I'm trying to say is that I'm upset that they don't allow me to use my music in other apps just because it is stored in their service.
This is something I'd expect from iOS not Android.

ok, i understand what you mean, and there is a solution for this.. you can go to the desktop browser site www.google.com/music (destop, not mobile) and download whatever of your songs you want, itll be in a mp3 format, and itll download to your download folder. you can play these with any music player.
I'm not being clear enough. I apologize.
By musics (songs) I mean the ones I have stored offline.
Those are the ones I wish I could use on other apps.
Again, sorry about that.

youd need to download them to play in other players, as google uses its own format to stream an play in the app. other players can not play that format(probably).

From my understanding Google play music stores the songs in its own database so only it can access the files. Google made it impossible for other players to play it.

right, in its own proprietary format. which is why it has to be downloaded first(via the desktop site).
When you stream music from Google Play Music, it saves those music files on this location
/data/data/com.google.android.music/files/music
That's the reason no other player can access it. It's named like "1234.mp3".
If you are rooted, I remember there's an xposed mod to move it to SD card or somewhere else.
You can technically play Google music files in any player as it stores them in native mp3 format in /data/data/com.Google.android.music/files. The problem is you'd have to move them to /sdcard and also the files have no title or tags.

YEah we're talking about downloading music through play and playing it in other music apps... It can be done but it doesnt bring through any tags and the file names are just numbers.
Let me trow a question at you guys.
What do you use to manage your songs?
Do you all use Google Play Music?

factory music player install

I have an MTCD-KSP unit.
I was wondering if there is a way to install a better music player (factory app). and how do you install these? are they compatible between manufacturers (jy, ksp etc)?
Power amp jet audio take a lot of resources.. I need a better default music app that can support reading song name from idv3 and not the filename-
I have been asking the same question for a while, so far no luck

use root explorer to go to /system/apps and find a folder called MTCMusic (or somwthing like that) open it you will find a file called MTCMusic4.apk. back it up and delete it and replace it with the new MTCMusic4.apk
Just rename poweramp, or jet player?

you can not replace the factory music player with jetaudio/power amp..
you install these and use them like ordinary android players..
My advise was to replace the factory music player with moded or music players from other ROMs (still factory players)
Hello, I would use only default poweramp ... Is it possible? If yes, how ? For example I listen to music with poweramp and the next day when I start the car poweramp does not start automatically and with the last music I was listening to? Please help

first of all post the system information of your device, so people can advise you of what is actually compatible with your devise.
Malaysk's ROM is very good and includes many stuff and many radio and audio mods. AS LONG AS IT IS COMPATIBLE
