I was wondering if any of you know of an app that can turn off notifications when I put it in the AC charger but doesn't do it when connected to USB?
I would like the phone not to notify when I'm sleeping and it's in the AC charger
but when I have it in the computer or my car I want to have the sound on.

Nice, that's just the app I was looking for, but sadly Android 4.0.4 doesn't support different ringer and notification volumes
Don't know why Google decided to change that, but it sucks..

I have purchased a cheap Nexus S dock from ebay and I am pretty happy with it, I remember reading a year or 2 ago of an app that could run any app when anything is plugged in, for example start music player when headphones are plugged in, or start a clock when the battery is plugged in.
Ideally I would like the default ICS clock app to start when i dock my device.
Thanks.
I'm using the Infuse dock and while I really am enjoying using it, the lone issue I have is that all phone calls are audible only via the internal phone speaker rather than the car speakers (via 3.5mm). I know that the Infuse dock was (obviously) not made for the S3 so I don't know if it's an issue only with this dock or if this is how Samsung intended it to be with all docks. Would it be possible for a dev to enable this function in a custom ROM or other method? Thanks very much.
I don't have a dock but quick question. When you navigate to Settings/Dock, is "Audio Output mode" selected?

It is. The audio (music/videos) sounds perfect through my car speakers using a 3.5mm cable but actual phone calls are only audible via the phone speaker. Thanks very much for the reply.
Bump to see if this is feasible. Thanks.

i run my phone via a no name mount (moslty just a holdeR)
& a male/male headphone cable plugged from the phone into my headunit & it plays everything (pandora, calls, Svoice etc) all via the car speakers.
not sure what your issue is.
when you plug in the headphone cable, does the notification area say "headphones connected?"

Thanks for the reply. The headphones connected message does appear and while all my music is routed perfectly through my car speakers, it's only phone calls that play solely through the internal phone speaker. The difference between our setups is that my male/male headphone cable goes from the dock's integrated 3.5mm audio out jack to my head unit rather than from the phone's 3.5mm audio out. I'm hoping there's a way to get it to work without having to plug the cord directly into the phone as that would take away the advantage of having a dock with integrated audio. Thanks again.
I am having the same problem music goes through the usb port but calls do not. It is very frustrating. Hopfully they will fix it for CM 10.

That is something else entirely

My understanding is that Ice Cream Sandwich doesn't have USB audio output standard, but that Samsung adds it into their phones. So, having call audio not route through the USB sounds like an issue to send to Samsung.

I just got the Universal Flip Stand from Amazon and like it flexibility. I did not realize that a special cable was required for it to put my Maxx HD in Desk Mode. I found an app that can open the Desk Mode and can use Smart Actions to initiate it, but is not fool proof, and the app does not exit when I unplug the phone.
Does anyone know where I can get a Smart Charging Cable? Is there another way to better use the stand? I was thinking of getting some NFC tags, but was not sure how easy they are to program and if they can initiate multiple things (open dock mode, set notification volume off, turn vibrate off).
Look for a program called RAZR Dock in the app store, it will launch the desk dock. Then you can set up a SmartAction that will start the all once the phone is plugged in and its night time.

Thanks. That is exactly what I did. My only issues is that the dock app does not stop once the phone is unplugged. Minor, but annoying.

Is there any way to disable the vibration the nexus 5 makes when you first plug it into a charger? My phone keeps vibrating when I plug it into my a/c adapter for my car because it keeps switching between charging on USB and AC and it's annoying. I've tried looking through all sound settings and googling and I can't find anything. I can't tell if I'm getting a notification or if my phone is wanting to charge. Thanks in advance!

I think that's a feature in your Rom.

Sounds like a custom ROM thing to be honest as the stock ROM doesn't do anything upon plugging a charger in unless you use an Xposed module.
Well shoot. I never thought about that. Its been a long time since I've been on stock so I couldn't remember. Im using mahdi-rom right now. I guess I'll head over to that thread and see if there's anything I can find. Thanks guys!

Hello all!
Recently we discovered that we had an AUX cable hooked up to our speakers at work. It's been great being able to plug in our phones to stream music, but we are looking for an alternative solution.
We have an extra GS3 that we would like to essentially turn into a Bluetooth speaker so it can stay plugged into the power and the AUX constantly. I've found a plethora of apps that can do this via WiFi/Hotspots, but this is not an option for us.
Is there any way to stream audio via BT from any Android device?
Thanks!
