Accidently Wiped system and almost everything using Team Win Recovery Project v2 - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Was trying to flash the ICS ROM V5 but it got stuck on the boot animation. I did a factory reset, surprisingly it was still there. So i used "Team Win Recovery Project" aka "twrp-crespo-2[DOT]0[DOT]0RC0[DOT]img" in nexusshacks.com. I went in there to do a factory reset but i wiped the ACTUAL system instead. So when i reboot i am stuck on Google. Unfortunely i only had 1 back up which is in ClockworkMod, but i cant access that. I dont mind my lost files because i can recover that but i want my phone to work again. Can i copy the nexus s contents from another nexus s and place it in my SD and will it work? If you guys have ideas please do reply because i need my phone fixed asap. Bootloader unlocked and rooted using superuser.

flash a rom, thats all that you should need to do.

i tried doing that. These are the things that went wrong:
on fastboot mode there is a red text that says "Exceed blocks 0x000001b9 > 0x0000001c"
When i flash using the team recovery, it says:
E:failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or direc
E:error opening /sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/30320279963
E:Unable to mount /sd-ext
--Verify md5 for /sdcard/update-cm-9.0.0-RCO-cr
--No md5 file found, ignoring
--Install /sdcard/update-cm-9.0.0-RCO-crespo-si
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installing update...
It ends there without saying installation complete
When i flash using command prompt is says this:
c:\nexussrootICS>fastboot flash recovery update-cm-9.0.0-RCO-crespo-signed.no.v5.p0.zip
Sending 'recovery' <112885 KB>...
OKAY [ 14.144s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED <remote: Write Fail>
finished. total time: 14.152s
I might want to get a stock rom than for now.
These are the things that i wiped using team win recovery
Cache
Dalvik Cache
Factory Reset
Battery Stats
Rotation
System
I left out SD Card and SD Ext
FIXED!!!
All i had to do was flash CWM Recovery img via CMD on Fastboot mode. Once you flash it, it gets you in CWM Recovery than i restored my backup

Recovery verified failed ??

Hello A510 owners,
After playing with patching google store using lucky patcher, my tablet start to bootloop...I was on Piccolo Rom,so I just flashed the rom again (wiped everything that could be wiped), but didn't worked, still bootloop...So I said to myself, let's make a fresh and clean install and get back to stock. I've download a stock rom, put it on my external SD Card and flashed it in CWN. I got a warning like I won't have recovery anymore after flashing but accept anyway, and start to flash...Tablet reboot and this is what I get :
Code:
erasing cache before sd update
SD update cmd : recovery
--update_package=SDCARD : update.zip
booting recovery kernel image
[COLOR="Red"]Recovery verified failed[/COLOR]
Then, I tried many stock rom I could find on the internet, still same error. I even tried with removing first line of the updater-script, nothing work...and I can't use adb anymore to push cwn again.
Any idea ? I really need help here ! :crying:
I guess u might flash the stock n still kept the cwm, so u can't enter the cwm anymore 'coz the bootloader was locked back.
Maybe u can try to unlock first, or u can consider to rewrite the recovery partition.
Rename update.zip to something different, CMW may not accept "command line" flashing.
Anyway if you can boot CMW (rename update.zip first!)
a) wipe dalvik-cache (under Advanced) and try to boot
b)if this fails- wipe data/cache (factory reset)
THX guys, I don't know how but I just format everything and reinstall cwn+rom, and it worked... I just lose all my datas on sdcard:'(

[A510] Bootloop, can´t install any rom

hello there, i have a serious problem:
i had my a510 with unlocked bootloader and had the CM11 rom installed...so far, so good: all of a sudden when reading a PDF, it shut down, rebooted, went into a bootloop showing the acer logo.
i had also CWM installed, tried EVERYTHING there to erease cache and stuff like that..nothing worked it started flashing a different rom...no success...
i´ve already installed TWPR 2.7.0.0....worked until the point where i wanted to install a new rom...installing works, saying "successful" but in the lower left corner it says:
E: error opening ' /data/tf '
E: error: I/O error
Click to collapse
can anybody help me please?! this is driving me insane!!
EDIT1:
i tried formatting DATA....after 5 minutes still no luck....it keeps "formatting data". could this be the reason for everything?!
EDIT2:
adb shell
recovery --wipe_data
did the trick!!!! i went back to TWRP, wiped DATA, no errors in /data/tf this time...clean installed CM11...and now it works again
Try to flash back CWM, format every partition (via the advanced menu)
and then flash a ROM like CM11

Stuck at boot animation after installing factory image

Hi there
I wanted to install the Android L developer preview on my Nexus 5. For this I had to unlock the bootlader because it was still locked. That worked fine.
I then downloaded the Android L image for my Nexus 5 tried to install it, got stuck at the google logo and then thought to just roll back to Android 4.4. So I downloaded the factory image from google, switched into fastboot mode, and executed the flash-all.sh script (running on Ubuntu). That seemed to work, device restarted a few times but got stuck on the boot animation logo again.
I wanted to switch into recovery mode to wipe the cache, but the red triangle appears. As quick solution, I just downloaded the clockworkmod-recovery and installed it using the fastboot flash recovery clockworkmod.img command. That worked, I was able to get into the clockworkmod recovery, wiped everything and restarted, but I'm still stuck at the boot animation.
While wiping I had the following messages in the log:
Code:
Formatting /data
Error mountin /data
Skipping format
Formatting /cache
Formatting /sd-ext
E: unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]
Formatting /sdcard/.android_secure
Error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure !
Skipping format..
Data wipe complete.
When rebooting from clockworkmod it asks me if I want to root my device because it seems to be unrooted. I've tried accepting and declining that message, but I can't still boot up my device. Anyone got any idea what might be wrong here?
Thanks alot!
Edit: Allright, somehow, after hours of spending with reflashing, it seemed to work. I can't remember to have done anything special. Only thing I did different was that I executed every command from the flash-all.sh by hand instead of executing the flash-all script.

Failed CM11 install on Wingray (E: can't mount /cache) Help! :(

I was trying to install CM11 on my Stock unrooted xoom, so I went ahead and followed cyanogenmod.org's guide.
It was great until the flashing CM part. And then, I got this error: System is not bigpart . (something along those lines.)
I found a same guy who had posted a solution to this.
So I go ahead and follow this, and when I flash BigPart TWRP 2700, I get this error on the device: Installation aborted. I used the sideload method for this.
I looked up some forum threads on how to fix this, and there was a thread which told me to install another version of TWRP BigPart, the R.A.H version. I did that by sideload, it installed, and I rebooted into recovery (after wiping dalvik cache). Teamwin loaded up fine, and I headed into the wipe section. According to the solution at ditoforge.com (link above), I had to go to advanced wipe and wipe everything BUT the sdcard. I did that, and I got this error: E: Can't mount /cache. I went ahead and flashed CWM through fastboot again, repeated the process, and no luck. Then, I went into fastboot and flashed TWRP Bigpart 2.7 directly using adb. It worked, though I got a series of errors upon trying to wipe (unable to mount /system, /cache, /data, etc)
I panicked, fearing a brick, and flashed back CWM. Luckily, I had taken a backup of Stock 4.1 and I restored back to that, thankfully finding it working. *phew*
I also tried fastboot format cache but I got this error on cmd:
Code:
C:\Users\User\Desktop\adb>fastboot format cache
formatting 'cache' partition...
Formatting is not supported for filesystem with type ''.
FAILED ()
Strangely, fastboot erase cache seemed to work.
I wanted to call quits, but I love CM11 and I would really like to give this a shot. Any help and tips would be really appreciated. Thank you all in advance.
Bump. Tried to use CWM recovery again after flashing, but now ADB doesnt work in recov. :\
Bump..
Any help would be appreciated..
I formated all partitions individually in TWRP and it worked... I.E, managed to flash CM11.
Hope that helps.

stuck on dead android no command. i cant access bootloader. no rom.

hi, im really frustrated with this problem. i've spent three days already to search for answers but to no avail. im really hoping someone can help here.:crying::crying::crying:
situation is: i tried to install custom rom and part of the step is to wipe cache, data, etc. now, im guessing im not supposed to inlcude wiping the internal storage (to which i did), now i can no longer boot the system as well as go to bootloader mode. i thought i bricked my device good thing i learned online on how to access stock recovery. i can see the recovery is android system recovery <3e> (KOT49H.24526_447.6867). the only options are: (1 ) reboot system
(2) apply update from ADB sideload
(3) apply update from SD card
(4) wipe data/factory reset
(5) wipe cache partition
my problem is when i try to flash stock ROM from nvidia via apply update from ADB sideload, on command prompt window, it just say cannot ready zip. now when i try to apply update from SD card, it get stuck on install/sdcard then after a while, it just go back to the dead android logo. i also tried ADB sideload trying to flash by images inside the zip. when i try to flash it, it loads and send successfully but on my tablet it says E: footer is wrong . E: signature verification failed. installation aborted. btw, i was not sure if my shield is US LTE or RoW so tried both but still same result. i hope someone can help pls. im so desperate to fix my tab. :crying:
