Hi, I have a sony ericsson Arc s which i downgraded to android version 2.3.4 to root it. I have searched the forum and not found an answer so hopefully someone can help me.
I have tried both superoneclick and doomlord method to root but both say that my adb drivers are out of date.
the exact message is: ADB server is out of date. Killing... *deamon started successfully*
But then nothing happens. This is my first ever root so am i missing anything.
(I have put it in USB debugging mode)
Thanks alot and i hope this is in the correct part of the forum

what does it really happened?
already flash uk roms.
almost tried everything. but still the same.
You need to use this version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913709
Make sure you have Debugging turned on and on mode "None" or "ChargeOnly" connected to the PC.
Then you must have RSDLite 4.9 that you can get here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=853674

even when i try to connect using adb to do manual root, adb hardly detected my device. anyway i'm on win7 pro.
it keeps reinstalling drivers whenever i change into whichever mode on the usb mode.
seriously bro, whats the matter.
whats the latest universal androot version anyway. i'm using v1.6.2b5.
hope someone encountered this and successfully rooted can help me with this.
originally i'm from SEA rom without blur. now i'm on GB (uk) rom with blur.
i suppose what sbf should i flash for vulnerability the secure for defy?
I think the only way to root it is thru superoneclick 2.21 that we posted

If you want help plz post EXACTLY what you have done yet and where you stuck...
Like this:
- start up phone
- attached USB Cable
- turned debugging on
- ....
and so on
ok, this might light things up..
what version of motorola driver are you currently using?
because yesterday I tried to root my defy using super1click with moto driver 4.7 in my win xp laptop.. always failed becaused it always waiting for ADB server (my defy won't install adb driver in the xp laptop.. )
than I downloaded the motorola driver ver. 5.0 at motodev here you have to register, but it's free anyway..
and then I tried to root it using the new driver in a different laptop using win 7 32bit.. and it works..
should also be working in windows xp since I assume the main problem is the motorola driver
32-bit driver:
http://ifile.it/zfct95b/Motorola_End_User_Driver_Installation_5.0.0_32bit.msi
64-bit driver:
http://ifile.it/lzx8hmf/Motorola_End_User_Driver_Installation_5.0.0_64bit.msi
Like the title says I need help rooting this phone. It's a 2.3.5 Gingerbread Android version.
I tried SuperOneClick but the program stops responding after:
"Killing ADB Server"
"Starting ADB Server"
*daemon not running. starting now on port 5037*
*daemon started successfully*
After that...nothing. Just freezes.
I also tried DoomLord's ZergRush Root but I get the same "Daemon started successfully* and nothing after that.
USB debugging is turned on.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi man, have you succeeded in the meantime to root this phone. I've got the same issue and need the help!
Hey everyone, i know this is kind of a newbie question. but after looking on the internet and i cant seem to find the solution to a problem i have been working on for a few days now
I downloaded the Motochopper to root my device and when i press enter it says:
Daemon not started. Daemon started using port 507
Daemon run sucessfully.
Then it just sits there.
I know my usb debugging is on im not sure why it gets stuck here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! thank you so much!
I would try installing the drivers again.

Looks like you need the proper ADB drivers. You can find them on Motorola's site or I think you can now use Koush's new Universal ADB drivers for all android devices. Report back after installing the drivers

Ok so I finally found a way to root this b***h the LG L80. I've had 3 Androids before - Sony and two LG's, rooted them no problem, but this one is just ridicilously hard to root... So I found yet another way the ioroot method, but again I'm encountering some problems, this time it goes like this... I installed all the latest drivers and all, latest SDK and ADB, and everything's fine, the adb shell works and all, but when I put it in recovery mode and choose Apply update from ADB my Windows say's The device is not recognized, one of the devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and blah, blah...
Could someone help me get the adb sideload thing working, please?

Hmm ... you have already posted on xda assist ([Completed] [Q] Need rooting help LG L80!).
So I assume that you rooted like described in the linked thread.
If you have issues, you can either ask in the rooting thread, or in the Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.
Good luck !

Hello XDA member
I have a touchlet xa100 tablet running Android 4.4.2 and want to root it, but Towelroot said "device not supported" and I cant use a pc because i have no adb driver for it. After searching, I tried a guide to modify the google usb driver, but that didnt work either.
My computer is running Windows7 x64 and other devices (Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Sony Xperia M C1905) are detected by adb decives.
I hope you can point me to the right point.

I didn't find any report of workign root for your device on xda.
But you can try the most popular and generic rootng methods:
How to Root Any Device
How To Root Any Android Device
[TOOL] Rootx 2.2 (Rev 3 )- Root almost all android devices
[UNIVERSAL GUIDE] Root Any Android Device Manually !
Root any Android device (without pc n in one click)
[ROOT] Framaroot, a one-click apk to root some devices
...
BTW, on some devices, TowelRoot only works on an older firmware/kernel version. So if nothing else works and you know how to downgrade to an older firmware version, you might try TowelRoot again.
Good luck !
After trieng all those methods, i got superuser installed but root not useable, SuperSU cant uninstall/update the su binary, so i gave up.
From fun and trieng to find out if i could use fastboot i typed adb reboot bootloader, 10 seconds after the tablet gave up and isnt booting any more. Its stuck in the kernel splash Image.
Its detected by my pc as "Samsung Android Phone" but not by adb.
You know a trick to revive it from the death (except JTAG) or do i have a new paperweight?
I dont know if it has a recovery, but even if it has one, how can i get there? It has only 2 Buttons, Power and Back, and if i press those 2 together, the kernel splash Image appears.

Oh no ... sorry to hear that.
You can ask in the General discussion > Questions and Answers forum.
Hopefully someone knows a "trick" :fingers-crossed:
