Hey everyone,
I am currently running Eclipse 2.0 on FP1. I am very happy with Eclipse but I am reading a lot of good things about Tweaked. I have yet to see a screenshot of Tweaked. Can someone who has used both explain to me the difference between the two ROMs?
Thanks,
Tweaked 2.0 looks identical to TweakStock 1.5.
I went to Tweaked 2.0 from Eclipse 2.0. Both roms are amazing. Main difference between the two is that Tweaked allows for more customization.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using xda premium
Tweaked 2.0 is smoother than eclipse IMO but both roms are great. I just happen to like the theme that tweaked offers. As for screenshots if you ever installed tweakstock 1.4 it is the same theme. The difference is the fp1 base with TSM parts and some other mods

If you like TouchWiz, go with Tweaked, because it retains the TouchWiz apps but with a new coat of paint.
If you like AOSP, go with Eclipse, because it swaps as many apps as possible for their AOSP equivalents.

Right. From what I gather, it's all about the apps. If you're a fan of TouchWiz apps over AOSP, then go with Tweaked. Aside from that, Tweaked let's you do a ton of customization with the status bar, lock screens, carrier text, Lidroid toggles, etc.
Make a backup of Eclipse, then give Tweaked a try. You can always go back to your backup.

While appearance-wise they look the same - the toggles no longer are based on the lidroid mod (all TSM-based).

Yeah some of the lidroid toggles were glitchy for me like data but the tweaked ones work fine.

The lidroid flashlight was glitchy as hell for me, but the TSM one works great.
I really like the look of Eclipse (especially the dialer). I definitely do not like the look of stock so I will stay with Eclipse. Thanks for the input to those of you who responded !!

When coming from another rom it's best to wipe everything. Data, cache and dalvik cache
I hate having to do that in order to try a ROM i don't even know if I will like. I'll pass for niw and thunk about it down the road when the next update comes out.

I came from Eclipse and my tweaked was really glitchy. Then I just ODIN'd ep4d stock, took fp1 ota and ODIN'd tweaked.

I've jumped ships to the Droid X over night and I've flashed Gummy Jar 2.5, as much as I dig the gingerbread, IMO plain white AOSP looks better. Does anyone have a regular AOSP theme, preferably with the regular battery or just percentage shown inside it (Like in Cyanogen) Thanks in Advance.

Hold home as you turn the phone on, when the M appears let go of the power but keep holding the home button, it will eventually go into recovery where you can let go of the home button

Nope these are metamorphs...I didnt see the need in making two or three separate framework-res apks when metamorph is easy especially for only 11 images...I was thinking of a full generic aosp theme...but with Liberty Rom and Rubix around the corner I'm going to hold off. Especially since kejar and jrummy have teamed up on Liberty...I dont want to invest a lot of time in gummy since it probably will not be supported or updated.

It will do a complete backup literally exactly as you left it, it will be like nothing happened, meaning yes it will save your saved games.

as mister hat said a nandroid will back it up completely so if you return to that rom with restore it will be exactly like when you left.
but if you install a new rom and wipe data and cache unless the game data is backed up on the sdcard it wont pick that data up from the nandroid.
the data will be there if you restore the rom you backed up but wont be found by a new rom.
hope this helps.

Eagles blood had a lot of data disconnects which makes you reboot the phone- at least for me.

Would a different kernel gives better battery life for weapon?
I say Weapon is the best all around. If I didn't think it was so ugly I would use it as my main driver.
CM7 is known for its options and theme support. It has an occasional bug but pretty solid.
MIUI is based off CM7 and is VERY themeable and has its own set of unique options and tweaks. You can change the appearance of everything and mix and match themes, change lockscreen styles, and even boot animations on the fly through their theme app. I also love all of their defaults app (phone, music, messaging apps). I also like how the wallpaper and sound options also have an "online" tab to find and download media to use on the go. Really slick. Its what I use.

I've been running this since last night, and it seems to work much better for me than when I tried to run TW 4.5. The only issue I've had so far is with market updates crashing the market, but I'm sure that's from the way I restored all my apps, since I was so tired.
I would like to know if anyone knows of a way to do this true TW4 standalone from the ROM, or is the only way to use this ROM?
If it is anything like TW4.5, you have to turn on landscape mode followed by a reboot. It only has to be done once but once you do you get landscape.

Just manually add the apps you want on the dock.
(App Drawer > Menu > View Type > Customizable Grid > Menu > Edit > *Make Changes* > Menu > Save > Menu > View Type > Go back to what you like.)
It's a lot more annoying than other launchers on the market, but you can still do it. TW4 seems to have a maximum of three apps, plus the app drawer. On the custom TW4.5, it allows for more, but the app drawer still will always be the right-most icon. Those two things are all I would as for Samsung.. well maybe an auto-hide home screen number too. Minor annoyances but a silky smooth launcher.
Also, thanks for the reply xboxfanj, about trying to add this without needing to flash the whole ROM.
Thanks.

If I can find the time, I might try learning how to do that, because I'm having a bit too much trouble combining my mods. I might tinker with it, along side working on getting ACS ICS where I want it on my phone. In the meantime, I've been using QQLauncher. It's nicer looking, and more of what I want, since it readily works with ACS ICS, but TW4 seemed to be a bit smoother for me. Now that the Galaxy Nexus has been announced, I might also be a little more patient as things develop. Not to mention, Cyanogen is getting pretty polished. Decisions, decisions.. I'll be glad when I'm finally settled on something. Until then, hopefully I can learn enough to help put some of these solid mods together.

Hello everyone i just signed up and i own a Samsung Infuse 4G and ive been flashing some roms on it lately and i want to know in your opinion what is the best rom.
i tried zeus, and i like it but i hate build 5.2 and build 6, because of the fact that wallpapers do not scroll. live wallpapers do, but static ones do not. I love build 3 fixed for ZEUS because it has scrollable wall papers and the app drawer is transparent. i dont like the black background when looking through my apps i like it see through.
but, being build 3 it freezes quite a bit. i tried CM7, didnt like it. i want to try something else.
I hate flashing roms and testing them because every time i restore it gives me an error saying "No sdcard/.android.secure Found. Skipping restore of SD card apps." so i have to re install 1 by 1 the apps with titanium backup and its really annoying. once i reach my 10 post mark i will start to post in the developers thread but this is all i can do now.
in a rom in need stability, no freezing no non working elements, all that.
clean, simple and crisp.
no dumb animations to lag the os and use mass ram. clean simple and fast. id even use gingerbread with touchwiz 4.0 like on the samsung galaxy s 2 skyrocket LTE that has a very good stock OS. maybe there is a way to put that on my infuse? I want to try s.u.r.f.a.c.e. rom but that's a hard way to flash it
any suggestions?

You can always Port your own ROM. Just saying.
If all you don't like about ZEUS is the launcher's look, then you can use one of the alternative launchers available off Market... err Play... or whatever Google is calling its new and improved more privacy breaking app download thing.
Off hand, the two I can think of are GOLauncher and PhoenixLauncher. I currently use GOLauncher on ZEUS and like it quite a bit, plus it's free. I think I'm going to give PhoenixLauncher a go after some of the bugs are worked out.

Yerp on the surface rom...super lite...has lots of add on apps...smooth,stable....
The reason that wallpapers don't scroll is a SAMSUNG issue, not a Zeus issue, a change they made in the new gb leaks, so they wont change, on any rom built from that leak. Build 3 is no more and outdated, so if you don't want another launcher I suggest keeping build 3 because I removed it from the server. And tw 4 is way too buggy and unstable, that's why it was removed and will not return.

Hi everyone, I was just wondering what you all recommend for a lightweight ROM for the infuse, id like it to be stable as possible and no bloatware. Basically a ROM with nothing but the basics and lets you get the job done.
Thanks in advance!
Also, if there is not really a match for this or others would like this I would love to get one up myself. If someone could point me towards the basics of creating a ROM it would be greatly appreciated.
I've only tried Legend 3 ICS, Mind of Mac, and Ethereal 1.2/1.3, and while they're all great in their individual ways, i've found Ethereal to be the smoothest with a slight speed advantage over the others. It seems to be the most basic with not a lot, but just enough theming to set it apart from stock. It's the ROM i'm sticking with for now. I'm sure others will have some suggestions too..
I've been using stock gb with bloatware removed for about two months now. Works great and is pleasantly smooth. Used Holocaust launcher for the ICS look w/o the battery drain, bugs, etc.

Those are all good options for stable, close to stock, and debloated. I'd add Vagabond 3.5 and 4.0 to the list too.
You can also grab dman's UCLB3 rooted, deodexed package and do your own debloating either by removing apps from the zip in /system/app or using TiBu to do the same once installed... that will get you very close to stock, stable, debloated, and rooted...
And...there are plenty of other roms that have more customizations, are still stable, and provide a different look and feel to using your Infuse. I recommend finding the stable rom you like, then using the infuse toolkit to make a full rom backup and a config backup. After that you can survey the Infuse Super Everything Thread (ISET) for links to other roms. (Links to toolkit and ISET are in my sig).
cm7
or cm9?
I just started using slim ics,its small like 80mb
Ethereal for me, I haven't tried a lot of ROMs though. I tried MIUI few months ago, the version I tried was very fast, but buggy. No Bluetooth, no HDMI etc.
Recently, I tried Ethereal, most recent version with HOLO Launcher and I must say my Infuse has been brought back to life. I might keep it for another year until a stable Jelly Bean Android device comes out. I wish they make a Nexus with expandable memory and a +5 inch screen; until then, Infuse on Ethereal will be my daily driver

Using JB liquid smooth and its quick and haven't had any stability issues at all. I would give it a go, think you would love it ! You can remove anything you don't want to lighten it up
Slimbean and liquidsmooth are the 2 most stable of the roms I've tried. Slim being the lightest I believe.
