Where's a good site to pick up a replacement screen? - HTC Inspire 4G

Long story short, I busted my Inspire's digitizer, but the LCD underneath is still intact, and I'm having trouble finding a replacement.
Amazon sells just the digitizer, but I've seen that replacing the digitizer is a extremely tedious task and it's way too easy to damage the LCD in the process (one video had a guy completely obliterate the LCD trying, was freakin hilarious!), and the only LCD/Digitizer assembly they have on there has reports of the seller sending damaged parts.
Anyone know of a good site that sells the digitizer/LCD assembly that isn't Ebay? I freakin hate Ebay....
Edit: found this for the Desire HD, anyone tried this seller before?

try ebay ..
it is easy and safe ...
but if you don't like try
amazon .. but it is very cost .. and you must be in USA
or try
aliexpress
but not sure ...

I hope I'm not to late.
I went on amazon and looked up the digitizer display assembly. The screen you are getting should have the home, menu, return, and search button on the bottom.
It's kind of expensive, but it's the entire screen with the digitizer already attached to the glass, and is super easy to put in. You can also find videos on youtube to put in this exact screen.

http://www.cnn.cn the guy is in Hong Kong but ships quickly and cheaply. Best source for any part for pretty much any phone.

Ive purchase both a digitizer and an LCD from amazon. Make sure you buy replacement adhesive.

Need help finding parts for HTC Surround

So, I really need a new LCD Assembly for my HTC surround. The digitizer still works, but as you can see, the outer shell part thing is bent and busted. I'd rather not pay $90 to have the whole screen replaced if I could simply get that one little part from somewhere.
Does HTC sell replacement parts for their phones? There's no warranty, as I bought it off eBay.
This site has the digitizer for I think it's $60, and the whole LCD for $90: http://www.repairsuniverse.com/htc-surround-replacement-screens-repair-parts.html
yes its too much

LCD Screen & Digitizer assembly

Good evening guys, I wanted to ask, any one knows the average price for an Original LCD screen and its Digitizer together?
Im seeing prices from 45~120$ but i wanted to ask if anyone have ever got any before, plz would help me to find the best for my friend Sensation thx.
I called HTC they said 180 and I think its worth it through them rather than a phone repair shop. Which I wish i did....
So I broke my screen. I looked up some digitizers but I dont know what I should get. Could someone please suggest one to buy? I have a T-Mobile USA sensation. Does it really matter which part I buy or will any digitizer work?
I'd recommend you just send it to HTC. I had my digitizer replaced by a computer repair shop that said they could replace my digitizer and I had it done for 70 bucks. After they replaced it my digitizer would barely respond to the point that I couldn't even use it. They replaced it because they had a 30 day warranty but even that replacement was just as bad. I had the digitizer replaced one more time and it was better but still not the same. I just couldn't use it without getting frustrated. I ended up just exchanging my phone through my carrier but I wish I avoided the hassle in the first place....
I replaced both the LCD and the Digitizer just last week on my Sensation. I had the the touch screen issues you guys are talking about, but as soon as I upgraded the radio the problems went away.
Here's a post with the firmware update. You have to be rooted and have your bootloader unlocked.

Well can you please PM or post which one you ended up buying
Does anybody has got the link to replacement guide in relation to original lcd + digitizer? On yt I just see how to replace only digitizer but I want to buy an original set (lcd + digit) and replace it. I'm afraid of getting the dust after changing just digitizer.
I bought digitalizer for 30euro and followed you tube video to change it my self... The repair shop asked 180euro for the repair (300 new phone) so I gambled and it was worth it.
Good thing on sensation and htc phones is you can replace the digitalizer alone compared to example Samsung where u need to buy and replace lcd screen same time. Costs loots more.
Sensation XE. Bricked kernel. ViperS ROM. Powered by Mugen battery.
Yeah, but while replacing only a digitizer it's very easy to get dust under it when man doesn't have laboratory conditions.. And then what? Starting all from the beginning? Some time ago I saw on ebay a digitizer + lcd for htc sensation for about 50$ but I just don't know how to replace it
Actually when u have working digitalizer connected u don't need to diassemble. Ucan just pull the screen out with knife from the frame. (because flat cable u need to put phone to pieces) I left some dust under first but then saw this trick on YouTube and used it to clean under screen with micro dust towel.. Anyway even with the minor dust its lot better than broken screen.

You tube is your friend.
On you tube are only videos that show how to replace just digitizer or how to DISASSEMBLE lcd + digitizer. I'm looking for info how to ASSEMBLE digitizer + lcd set.
just seen a pair on ebay for $55 :good:
ebay item number: 130646942239
From where should I know which type (A or B) I need to buy? Another problem - how to ASSEMBLE it?
Does anybody know if every lcd + digitizer works with normal sensation? I mean if there exist different versions etc. I have sensation from Europe. Im going to buy the whole screen so I need to know it. Additional question, does lcd + digit from sensation xe works with normal senny? Thnx in advance.

S3 Digitizer - How does it work?

Hello Everyone,
I run a repair shop and have been having a lot of customer walk away when I have had to explain that the screen and LCD need to be replaced as one unit (And cost £130+ a part then labour cost). I have watched a few videos and gain a lot of advice from these forums regards to a glass only replacement. I have a lot of experience with screen replacements, but the one thing that stumps me with this screen is how does the Digitizer work? Most phones have one cable for LCD and one cable for Digitizer, but when I look on eBay at the parts, it's just a piece of glass with nothing connecting it between the phone but some glue.

Dust under Screen Repair

After having no reply from HTC with regards to getting the dust removed under the screen of my HTC Sensation Z710e, I got quotes from 2 different websites.
First was http://www.gsrepairs.co.uk/ who quoted as estimate of £20
They sent me this reply:
"Hi Matthew,
Thanks for getting in touch. You would be looking at around £20 to tidy up the inside of the phone. We would have to completely disassemble the phone as the flex ribbon which is connect to the mainboard sits behind the lcd. We would also have to replace the adhesive which holds the front screen down."
Second Was http://www.buzz-box.co.uk/ who quoted me £88.35.
They sent me this reply:
" Hi matthew moss
HTC Sensation Screen Repair
Your screen including digitiser and lcd are replaced with this repair as they are factory bonded. We just need the phone including battery so we can test it before returning it to you. No sim, memory card or accessories need to be included with your device. We recommend you back up your device for data before sending it, though we do not usually need to wipe data with this repair.
Repair Information
Screen £ 81.65
Return Courier £ 6.70
Total Quote £ 88.35"
Obviously, there is a huge difference in quotes, but first company say they can basically just clean up the dust, but second company saying the digitizer and lcd need to be replaced!!
The phone is in absolutely mint condition, the only problem is the dust, so basically what i'm trying to figure out is....do I really need to pay to have digitizer and lcd replaced, just for dust? and maybe the £20 quote to clean the dust from the first quote is dodgy?
Or, is the second quote just taking the pi$$ by saying they will have to replace lcd and digitizer?
Can't afford to go changing my phone and neither do I want to, but with summer coming fast, it's a nightmare trying to view the screen in the bright sunlight and there's NOOO way I'm going to attempt the repair myself.
Has anyone ever heard of or dealt with http://www.gsrepairs.co.uk?
Are they a reputable company and know what they are doing etc?
£20 to clean the dust out underneath the screen sound too good to be true?
Or, can anyone recommend a good reputable company in the UK that can clean the dust out from underneath my screen?
Any info and help you can give me will be hugely appreciated.
thanks
Matt.
Hi,
I think it's indeed neccesay to replace at least the digitizer. The dust is trapped between the digitizer and the display, and removing the digitizer from the screen will/could:
- break the seal between the digitizer and the screen. this is glue I believe.
- stain the digitizer, a new one comes with protective sealing to prevent it from getting dirty during repair.
unless they damage/stain the lcd screen, I think it's bull they have to replace that one aswell.
a new digitizer comes at a price of € 14 with prying tools. I'd say ask gsrepairs for specific cleaning method. Will they remove the digitizer in order to clean the dust (I believe there's no other way)? will they replace it and if not how will they guarentee the display will come back nice and tidy to you?
if it's typical sensation dust I would not even send it in if it were for free. I've got a bad experience with repairing the one time I did it and the litle bit of dust in my case isn't bothering me. But if it is as severe as you say we're talking a whole different situation. And what I find harmless, could be an absolute pain to others.
Since I'm dutch I can't tell you anything about the repair centre you mentioned. But finding reviews shouldn't be that hard

[Q] Can I Join New Digiter glass and Seperate New LCD

Okay so I was duped by the low price when trying to fix my wife's One X and purchased the digitiser only.. I didn't even attempt to install it but I did pull her phone apart and destroyed her LCD and Touch screen before even separating the assembly as my tool slipped between the digitiser and LCD resulting in cracked/broken LCD
To be honest its a scam sellers are selling the glass only without clear warning of the dificulties ahead that LCD is sooooo fragile! and too much heat would just break the LCD..... and possibly de solder parts....
Now it still powers up and is visible via USB
Should I splash out the extra $30 and get the LCD only part from eBay and attach it to the touchscreen I already have?
or should I just buy the whole assembled unit for $90(Australian)
also Which LCD would I want? I have the Aussie Tegra version...(So I'm guessing the non AT&T version..)
Any Advice and experience would be appreciated Cheers!
To be honest I'd just buy the LCD + digitizer. The chances of being able to successfully join the two parts together yourself are fairly slim.

What timaaaaa said. I've yet to hear of anyone doing it successfully, and if there is someone they're definitely the exception. You know first hand how difficult it is to handle those parts, do you really want to risk it? Just put the digitizer you bought back on eBay (if your conscience allows you).
