Hey yall,
I just help my dad out by installing Android Revolution HD 6.6.2 on his
HTC Sensation... a lot of trial and errors, about 3-4 hours I got it just right.
I had put CM7 on it a few months ago but he was really excited about ICS.. lol
I guess I missed the CID 11111111? once I did that, everything went smoothly.
I'm running CM7 on my TMo G2x or LGP999 is it? and I know about the gapps
I have to install after I flash... but I'm a little new to the HTC phones... is their anything else I'm missing?
Gapps are already included

Just got a new HTC sensation. I have already rooted and put ARHD 3.1.1 on it. Love the rom but i get random restart's and boot loops all the time. Does the t-mobile sensation not support the cm7 rom? If not what would be the next best thing? Any answers will help me out! Tdhanks in advance.
Mine is running great, I had a random reboot on the last rom but not this new one. I can suggest trying the suggested radio, running the superwipe script, and leaving the phone alone for ten minutes after your initial flash. I even reboot a few times the first day.
Good luck

I guess it depends on your comfort zone ;-)
There are many ICS ROMs based on "leaked HTC ICS" that work well. Until the official HTC ICS comes out we don't know the delta.
I, personally, would root, but I haven't had an unrooted device in two years lol. I'm on gingerbread still, because every ICS rom I've tried hasn't been as stable or fast as my modified cm7. It's really up to you, but if you've had your last phone rooted, chances are you'll root this one too lol, it's just a matter of when. Anyway, welcome to the sensation forums and good luck

Nothing wrong with rooting, it's possible to unroot if u have to send it back for defects, why not
Thanks fellas...I guess what it is is that I didn't succeed in getting S on once I went back to stock on the mytouch before I sent them both back lol o well seems rooting is easier on this phone then the gfree method for the mytouch and that was pretty easy itself

I don't know why some may say ICS on Sensation is lagy, but I can say it is smoother. I love everything about the update. If you have a Sensation 4G, the ICS update is well worthy to update to. So, the update is not available in the US, it is worth rooting and the whole 9 yards, be advised! Getting ICS on Sensation 4G is a wreck of work, but there are a lot of helpful threads to seek into before attempting anything. I'm rooted/CID/Firmware ready to flash and I love ICS 4.0.3 Sense 3.6 Being on Sense 3.0 Gingerbread can't compare! So, thanks to all of the helpful threads and Developers and last but not least XDA!...CHEERS!

I was worried just after install, my Sensation was all over the place, but all has settled down and I am really happy with ICS glad to have left gingerbread behind

Even that wasn't hard. Unlock your bootloader which is almost fully automated, flash su, done.
arent mikes firmwares rooted already? so no worrys about that
ics wokrs like a charm
flashed it 3 days ago, my batt is at 12% !
Can only agree, even for a novice is not that hard to do at all, just have to follow guide (there are quite few around) to the letter and all goes well.
From what I've read is people who cut corners and miss important steps that often have problems with their phones.
Many thanks to everyone here on Xda for their hard work bringing us goodies!
Ok I just wanted to clear up what seems like some confusion that everyone is having. To flash the ICS and Sense 3.6 OTA file all you have to do to a stock Sensation or stock Sensation XE is to S-off your Sensation first then write Super CID to your Sensation. That is it really, you have to S-off because branded Sensations will only flash ROMs that have the correct security clearance for whatever carrier that the branded Sensation is from. You need Super CID so the OTA file will pass the cid check during the flashing process. You do not have to be rooted as being rooted has nothing to do with being able to flash a ROM.

I have not had a HTC phone in years, Mytouch 3G to be exact. I read the treads before I even think about flashing, and boy did I see a few with bricked phones soft bricked/ hard bricked, and lots that was confused. I'm a good guy and I just hate when somebody destroy something they care about. So, with that said, I hope to put precaution in those who are fast to act and slow to read. Thanks to all of you for sharing your thoughts about ICS, my feelings are likewise

Sorry, but I just had to add, coming from a Google flagship phone/dev phone without any third party security and bloatware, it was a one step thing just root and flash. So, I'm proud to say I felt like a nube coming back to HTC

Hey everyone first time posting on here. I tried out ARHD to see how it worked with the ICS on my phone but after a few days I decided I really missed CM7.. so I tried restoring it from one of the backups that I made but I get bootloops so I restored ARHD and my phone worked. I tried looking everywhere to fix it but nothing I try works.. From what I gathered it seems like I might need to change my RUU or h boot version to work with gingerbread again, which is what CM7 is. If I'm right how do I do that? I really miss CM7...

Hi, sorry. I think I found the answer in the noob thread... I have to downgrade my h boot version to one that is GB compatible...
Yes you do but the firmware is the main concern, get the latest one ( highest number) from here:

Oh. My. God. I can't stand the stock T-Mobile ICS rom on my phone! So, here's the story... My phone was having tons of issues with ViperOneS 2.1.0 so I ended up getting a replacement at the suggestion of others... after doing so T-Mobile decided on the next day to send me a phone with grey lines down the screen and a few dead pixels! Woohoo! I then called for a replacement same day... and now I'm currently waiting on my third HOS. If this one is messed up, I'm going to be pissed! I'm going through flashing withdraws and I'm in need of Venom Tweaks~! I didn't realize how hooked I was until I couldn't use it anymore. Sucks to have an S-On stock phone. Anyone else feel this way?
Nope. I have a perfect working HTC One S (S4), with unlocked bootloader, S-OFF, the latest 1.13 T-Mobile radio, with ViperOne S 2.1.0, with workin WIFI...and WORKING screenshots...and working BEATS Audio.

Well mine is a Vodafone Spain branded HOS, but I've had no problems flashing other roms... While I'm not precisely in love with sense I must admit I liked the camera app and the calendar widget A LOT. I may go back to trickdroid or viper at some point. For now I'm happy with Liquid Smooth, but the branding was never really a problem anyway...
AW: Who else hates stock this much?
If you guys live in Germany or Europe, you can get a lower price after 2 exchanges or repairs and you even can get your money back

I was just asking if anyone else hates being on stock as much as I do, currently waiting on my 4th replacement btw. Last one came and the screen was popping up out of the device... you could see the button backlights from the side... >_<
As this thread does not do anybody any good and you had your answers, I close it now.
