I have 2 inc2's. Mine and my wife's that have to be returned to verizion, I tried running the ruu from a friends comp and kept getting stuck at rebooting to bootloader and it revolts phone and stays on a HTC screen, than the ruu says can't communicate to phone, adb is working I can use it to reboot, and when type adb device it outputs my serial # or what ever that # is, was wondering if anyone had a complete stock rom with no mods or ind.scripts. thank you in advance. Not sure what to do besides find a stock rom and send it like that, hopefully ie OK. Any suggestions. I'm home bow with no comp

Is there any reason why the initd scripts can't just be deleted? I know some of them can't be but I kinda don't see what difference it would make for them to be there.

That's what I am wondering. Every other RUU he uploaded were zip files that you just flashed through HBoot & this one is a exe file. How do you use this? This is a non-Rooted Rom right?

Don't know exactly where you coming from and going to, 4.53 to 4.54? But something and that has been working and continued for me.
This ruu.exe is ran from the PC through usb debugging enabled, and having the correct drivers installed, I am on xp so I ran latest drivers maually, for higher o/s ver. its going to regonized the android and try to install autmatically....press stop/cancel you will need to configure it manually to have it install the correct drivers.
assuming you done this already, then enable settings>applic>develop>usb-deb and device powered on to home screen, from pc just double click the .exe and go through simple menu's and continue to process.
good luck and hope it helps..

my dilemma is that I have a rooted evo running a synergy rom on Hboot .79 and Radio 1.39
thing is that the s status is S-ON on this particular phone and unrevoked forever does not work on that radio version.
I've tried to upgrade the radio through clockwork recovery with the prepackaged zip yet when I reboot the phone still shows the old radio version.
I've tried installing an RUU from the PC but they all error out.
I'm looking for an RUU packaged in an install-able .zip that includes updated Radios Kernels Hboot and ROM in one. Is that even possible so i can fix this phone and get it some updated radios?!

So I know you say it "should" but I don't want to RUU and then still have my batman logo as my splash screen, that would suck. I would ave to re-root it to try and find a splash .img, but I guess I will try it out and see if it works.

I have the opposite issue. I have S-OFF (Revolutionary) but on stock unrooted (brought the phone to Sprint for a broken power button, and they ended up not fixing it, but flashed 4.53 stock rooted).
How the hell do I get this ROM rooted since Revolutionary doesn't want to root it because the bootloader is unlocked and I can't go to recovery because once I'm on the HTC white background fastboot screen, the volume button are locked and my power button is dead anyway...
I'm trying this Ruu .exe hoping it will give me S-ON but I'm doubtful it will happen...
EDIT: Just as I thought, I'm now on stock rooted 4.54 with S-OFF. And no power button

They will always update the splash screen, it helps to identify the firmware and rom versions at a glance. During install the setup program will create a temp folder with PC36IMG.zip or update.zip look in this zip file and you should see a splash.img file or something like that (sorry haven't looked HTC updates since my Hero Days).

what do i chooose in fastboot mode bootloader reboot or reboot bootloader
A friend of mine asked if I could help him fix his phone. He is a noob and so am I but I have rooted several phones and flashed many ROMS on all sorts of phones with no issues. So I would a least say I am pretty tech savvy. Here is the dilemma- If I hold volume down and power I get a white screen with some options such as hboot, fastboot, recovery, factory reset, simlock & image crc. It also says S-On....which I believe is the problem. He says that he though he downgraded to 2.2 before rooting but couldn't be sure but says he was originally on 2.3.4. I can boot into recovery CWM, mount usb/SD and load roms but no matter what ROM I load it will never get passed the HTC screen. Can someone tell me or at least point me in the right direction as to how I can achieve S-Off? Also I must note that he made no backups prior to his rooting attempt (Ughhhh!). Is there an easy way to get S-Off when the phone seems to be unlocked, rooted & CMW installed? Thanks a bunch my fellow XDA Einsteins.
I didn't think you can have a recovery without s-off for the shift... You could run an RUU and use one of the root guides we have if someone with more experience can't cone up with an idea. Of he did downgrade to 2.2 he should of used the shiftrr.exe to root

No worries, no need. Not offended.
Sounds like something got screwed up during the RUU process of downgrading. I've run into a similar issue when running the ROM Update Utility and it put me back to s-on but It kept my custom recovery. Same thing, no matter what I flashed I couldn't get it to boot. Your best bet is probably going to be run the the RUU. It will depend on which version of bootloader is on the device to which RUU will work. I can't remember the specific number but I believe the 2.2 bootloader is something like 93xxx something or another. If that's the case then you should be able to run the old RUU, putting your back on 2.2 and continue rooting. If your bootloader version is higher (98xxx or something) you'll have to run the newest RUU in order for it to work.
I may be completely wrong here but when all else fails... RUU!

Yes, you know when I water damaged my phone I (stupidly) was trying to RUU it while trying to fix it and the RUU failed and I got to a point where RUU was telling me that a newer version is installed.

I had ended up using the all in one HTC One S root utility that was linked in the fourms. Don't know what you are disappointed about. S-OFF stands for security being off. This may sound bad, but from a developer perspective, it's pretty good. If you have true S-OFF like you claim you do, you can flash ROMs, kernels, radios, etc... in a recovery with no issues at all; regardless of what hboot or custom recovery you have. Unlocked means that you can flash custom recoveries and such using fastboot, which is what you want. To sum it up, S-OFF is good; many devs are trying to get S-OFF, but NONE can figure it out. Just be happy about it.
Having this 'Unlocked' text is what you're going to get if you root/unlock the phone. No way to get around it. If you want to return to complete stock settings and re-lock, your best bet is to be on stock recovery and flash an RUU that corresponds to your network. You may also want to try 'fastboot oem lock'.

Oh sweet jesus you're lucky as hell.
Never ever ever sell your phone, because you got your hands on a developer one or just a phone that slipped through the cracks, because you have full S-OFF.
You should be able to flash ROMs in recovery without going to fastboot to ever flash a kernel, if the ROM is set up for it.
You would do better to change thread title...

You put a PB31IMG.zip?? that is not for your hboot, which is PD98IMG. Anyway, what rom were you flashing? It seems that you are prone to flash other phones stuff in yours.
Have you flashed recovery again? seems that you have no recovery at all. Use the guide in my signature to flash recovery again. You are S-OFF, so there is no need to flash a RUU.

Delete that last pic. No one needs to know your imei number. It's personal info that shouldn't be shared over the web.

If you are S-OFF why are you trying to flash a RUU? flash recovery again. I don't know what you have done to your phone, but it is not promising.

I updated using the PD98IMG.zip but it gets stuck on the white htc screen. I saw somewhere online it could be a problem with the sd card being corrupt. Could this be why I can't get passed the htc screen?

Really? Then You are not paying attention. You are flashing a different system file. So, i give up buddy, You can't follow instructions nor read. I am done with You. My advice Is that You should buy an iPhone.
