EDIT: never mind - I found the apk somewhere - works fine
There's a new TED app which is supposed to work with
honeycomb or ice cream sandwich.
I've got the ics rom on my gtab, but the play store says
"not compatible with your device" when I try to install
TED.
Any way to force this app onto the g tablet? TIA
(here's a link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS50ZWQuYW5kcm9pZCJd)
I can install this app, and i am on a froyo rom.
I have a modified build.prop with optimus 2x
as my device. Google "optimus 2x build.prop" .....
As far as i remember u need to change 4 lines in the build.prop

Here is the new Google Maps 5.0 apk for the ones that cannot update it.
Push it via ADB.
I have the streetmap available as well dunno if it was updated in the 5.0 though.
It is taken from a Samsung Galaxy S so the devices that are not compatible with new 3D View and new stuff may not work.
To be Confirmed.
Don't forget to backup your apk before trying to push via ADB.
EDIT : I've re-extracted it from my device, this time with Titanium Backup, and I guarantee this is 5.0
It looks like Google Maps 4.5.0 and Street View 1.6.0.6...
I Tried this with no luck
Fixed
Only available for those devices :

You probably need to add G2 / Desire Z + HD to this list though.
And it seems there is no need to update streetview as it is still 1.6.0.6 after the update.

Yeah, for the ones who cannot update it.
Like everybody on Cyanogen Mod usually cannot update their system apps like GMaps.
with maps5 is possible to cache all country maps on cache ? or only the already navigated roadmaps?

IT WORKS!
On my Nexus One w Cyanogen works fine, the compass like a charm... and it installs fine withoot problems.
Works fine @desire2.2
3D and compass works great, unable to rotate.
Is there a way to update this via SideLoading? I tried (via Sideload Wonder Machine) and got the error message "INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS." Any tips, suggestions would be appreciated!
What's the deal with the rotate not working?
Droid X - 3d rotate works
Nexus - rotate doesn't work
Archos A70 - rotate doesn't work
Everything works but rotate on my Nexus...
Updated via Market on HTC Inc. running Cyanogen 6.1 and everything works but rotate. According to Google, rotate is supported on the Incredible. Anyone know what might be the issue?
Rotate on droid works. But it doesn't work on my milestone. Im running got telus froyo. Any ideas?
x10i 2.1 eorks fine

simply installed it on Desire. works fine. thanks!
i wasn't able to find it any other way...
For this to install you need a rooted device?
It will replace the maps that I have it installed on Htc Desire?
Can I install simply by transfering the file to memory card and then install?
Thanks
you can use "adb install -r com.google.android.apps.maps-2.apk"
to install it
Saw this on androdheadlines.

I followed the steps and installed the 3.2 market on my inspire. I'm running the latest 1.10.7 MIUI with the latest TalonAce kernel 1.0.6.
I even downloaded an app and it installed correctly. This seems to work.
If I go into Market>Settings I can see that in fact i'm using build version 3.2.0.
Haven't noticed much difference though as far as looks. Maybe just the size on the install button and location of it?
But it works if you follow the instructions.
EDIT: The ICS wallpaper.apk works as well. There are some pretty good looking wallpapers on there. But nothing special about the app.

Maybe he was talking about the 3D style launcher. For third party apps I think Launcher Pro is the best solution. I've used it on my old Hero and it was very fast.
he was talking about the 2.3 gallery view...

That "version" as you say, is the phone's name. The i9023 and the i9020(A/T) is a different device(Nexus S as well but different). Maybe you flashed a wrong ROM what has the i9023 in its .prop file.
So I think you have an i9020 device with a ROM what has the identity of a i9023. I don't know if that matters in the rom, but i think not.
So where can I found the right one ( I think makes difference as when I press on setting alway appear a red square line) so I would like to try the I9020t version
I guess I am more green than I thought when it comes to this stuff, but I have an OG Asus TF101 with ICS 4.0.3. All my old apps from Honeycomb are there, work fine, but when I try to update or if I uninstall and go to re-install I am told they are incompatible for many, like HBO Go.
Am I missing a setting somewhere that will let me install these? That's for helping me out in advance with my noobery.
Did u try using AppBrain and fast web installer That is what we use when we modify build.props and change density's and the market gives us incompatibility issues so it may work the same when going from HC to ICS
Still tells me that my device is incompatible.
what ics means?
CM 9? yes?

Can anyone confirm that the Marvel Comics app (the on where you can purchase comics) isn't available on the P-1000 with ICS. It was available on Overcome 4.0.1 but since i'm on ICS (tried both AOKP and CM9) it tell me that it cant ne downloaded on my device
Thanks
I am on AOKP Milestone #5 (with DPI set to 160), and I can confirm that it is not visible. When I look at play store from my desktop, it tells me that it cannot be installed because of my country (I am in Turkey), but even with Market Enabler, it is not shown on my phone's Play.

yes its not compatible
Yep this one, thanks guys. I wonder if ils an ics or Galaxy tab incompatibility. I guess it is an ics since it was ok with Overcome.
