that's cool i searched for a way to download only the sources that i need from CyanogenMod but with no luck, now when we have someone here we are in the good way.
BTW, i am here to contribute to this project and keep me on

Hey maroc, how are you?
2 Things,
1- i can teach you how to compile cyanogen if you want
2- I am making a linux server for android compilation, it will be for public usage (for developers), i will have all the tools required for cyangenmod compilations
Im missing a 775 Socket motherboard, hopefully i get one soon
Atm im organizing the galaxy Y files, will try to upload something soon

Froyo @ Vodafone 845 (Huawei U8120)

Kernel Source of Huawei U8120 released (seems it's the same of the U8100/U8110). It's 2.6.29 version.
By now we are waiting about U8150 kernel source that uses .32 kernel and seems to be easier to port.
You can feel free anyway to test the original Huawei U8150 ROM but it's unstable by now, here's howto:
Using the original UPDATA.APP of the Huawei Ideos U8150 we can extract the boot, system and userdata images to work with them.
You can make your apropiated update.zip to FLASH it, but isn't working at all, so the 'more-stable' version is using fasboot to quick flash it.
They are all the official info about porting on this web:
http://code.google.com/p/froyo-vodafone845/
If somebody is interested and has the knowing about port it, feel free to help/join with us.
kosmos, upload to googlecode the boot.img, system.img and userdata.img separately of the .zip I uploaded on the mr edition post please, becouse is better use it than the test "FroYourself" I made
Done

hi, i don't speak english very well, you can send me a guide in spanish, i have a vodafone 845 joy, and i want to know, how install froyo (android 2.2) and if possible unlock
****, there's no official support of Froyo on Vodafone 845, you need to install the Mr Edition Eclair version, becouse all work with it.
About Unlocking, the only way is paying, it's another story not about ROMS.
(Spanish)
****, no hay forma humana aun de echar a andar Froyo mediamanente bien en el móvil, mientras tanto te recomiendo que uses la ROM de Mr Edition, va de lujo
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741643
Respecto al desbloqueo, la única forma es pasando por caja, el tema del desbloqueo de operador es otra historia que no tiene nada que ver con ROMS ni nada por el estilo.

thank's, i understand, only ask you if this possible (unlock), i try to use the ROM, the guide is a little complicated, maybe is that i don´t speak english very well but i want to learn
How to make language english? I can't understand anything from this language
Edit: found..
Anybody check the 4x new Roms `?

The U8120/V845 is not similar to the Pulse. It's similar to the U8110 Pulse Mini so you might want to work with those guys.
Could you also remove the link to FLB-Mod from your page please. Thank you. If you need access to the code from the Froyo Pulse project then you can access the code from the github in my signature.
I'm not maintaining the google code web, kosmos30 is maintaining alone, anyway how I said in MoDaCo forums, i'm leaving the project due to the problems found. I surrender.
Anyway i'm waiting about movements of the Huawei device project until I sells the device.
Greetings, Darkplace (davidluke @ MoDaCo).
Hi,
does the hardware of the phone is well known?
I'm asking because, if we know the hardware, don't we could find some sources for it?

I'm downloading it but that's the 2.6.29 kernel which we basicly allready have and although I need to fully download and compare first I strongly suspect this is just the the same pulse mini kernel source as has been out a long time now, just with a new name on the .zip file.
However in their technical forum they claim U8150 kernel will be released within two weeks. That's the kernel we want for Froyo.

The pulse guys (U8220) runs Froyo with a 2.6.29 kernel so I'm sure it's possible but it will propably be a lot easier to use the U8150 2.6.32 kernel once we get the source.

So I suppose the hardware of the U8150 is the same/similar as the 8100/10/20 devices ?

That would be nice, it would be easier to find new threads Really looking forward to Froyo (I found out, that JIT on Eclair disables downloading in Dogcatcher podcast app and it is a bummer
- The "new" kernel is just the same old release that T-mobile gave us months ago. It won't work on U8100 and U8120 unless you modify the compass driver. But sure, once you figure out what changes you need to do it does run fine, but once again, they just re-released old stuff.
- My posts (and others) asking about kernel sources has once again been deleted from their forums
- My account in their forums doesn't seem to work anymore.
I'll never ever buy a Huawei phone again. Never trust a company that censors the word "censor" in their forums.

Hey guys, We are going to try something new for our china phones - cyanogenmod.
But we need some more devs to get everything going.
For now we have:
-Github tree for Lenovo P700i(mediatek 6577, android 4.0.4, kernel 3.0.8)
-Lens_flare - original port author(may work with system folder and configs)
-some kernel source from other devices like liquid gallant
The main problem is getting adb to work that could help a lot on remaining development. For now even zygote not starting, but all partitions seems mounted successfully.
We need more devs (especially that could assemble working kernel for device), working with p700i may lead to following porting for other mtk devices, as sources are nearly the same.
ᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗᗗ

Nopes! I am not making a CM Kernel instead directly building CM9! The Prebuilt Kernel will boot CM9! Though.... @DanceOff was also working to get CM10.1 Booting :cyclops: Now, That he knows about already available CM9 Sources we could get CM9 Booted first then think about fixing bugs etc. Plus, Most of the people are ready to sacrifice 1 sim to get a Working CM on their MTK Device

Its time to united whole developers... support and help cyanogen dev., instead of developing so-called ROMs..(everything is same features... so boared)

Hi Everyone,
CyanogenMOD would be an awesome accomplishment for these devices. Please try to stay on topic and not engage in petty disagreements. It is incredibly easy for a community effort to get derailed or fall apart. Remember, if you see something you don't like or disagree with, you can always ignore it or report it.
Thanks!

Well I am still working upon this matter in the background. Somehow I messed up my build environment and god knows why, my recovery builds aren't booting as seen on the thread even though my device trees are untouched. Will be starting cleanly once I finish my exams on 16 May.
And regarding CyanogenMod, I have made a pretty good progress here. I have been studying the android ICS sources since they were discovered. Till now I have succeeded to frontport the MTK Gemini support, FEATUREOPTION builder, MTK GPS, MTK Camera HAL to the AOSP 4.2. But all of them are untested because I don't have the device, everyone knows. For this purpose I am going to buy the upcoming Xperia C3, which upon using as a medium for testing I can do this stuff a bit faster which will be beneficial to all MTK devices throughout. I have more than 30 commit patchsets lying on my machine which I will outsource soon.
I will suggest to use AOSP as base for these experiments because its always good to understand the pure upstream code. Once we have done noticable progress here, we can diff and merge them in projects like CM.

[Q] I want to build CyanogenMod 10 for my Samsung Galaxy Chat B5330 myself. Help!

Okay so I've bought a samsung galaxy chat B5330 device back in feb'2013. Don't ask me why cause I conciously bought it. So I realised after searching for 6 months that there is no interest of developers in this device. so I have taken up the initiative to 1) Build CM 10, 2) Port CWM, 3) Root the device myself. However I don't have much idea about building android. I've rooted and flashed Custom recovery n ROMs to my dad's phone before and I'm a geek so I learn things quickly about computers n phones. So I'm nor a complete newbie neither a Master developer. Therefore I need help of those devlopers who will be kind enough not to discourage me. Anyone can root a device which is more popular because it gets vulnarable too quickly so there is no point in telling me that "you should have bought a device which has developer support". I am interested to be a developer myself n that challenge is really so tempting to me. So here are my questions which I don't have exact idea about.
1) I have a computer of the config -> AMD fx 6100 hexacore buldozer 3.3 GHz/4 GB RAM/500 GB HDD/Windows7(32) & Ubnuntu 13.04(64). Can I do the job of building roms from the source with this config in the first place?
2) Does galaxy chat B5330 support 'fastboot'? if yes then How can I boot into fastboot mode? I've tried with adb 'reboot-bootloader' but the device just restarted normally. So I don't know How can I get into the fastboot mode?
3) CM developers are really kind enough that they have put alot effort into making the wiki. I've got precious informations about building android from source and all. But I have a confusion. There was mentioned fastboot is necessery for building CM. So if my phone does not have fastboot should it mean that I can't build CM for my device at all?
4) How much data do I have to download? Do I need to be connected to the internet always while editing local file? n If I use 'repo sync' to update the code always won't my editings get overwritten by stock code again?
so these are few basic questions I have for now. I know I might not get any response at all. But there's no harm in trying. thanks

The best way to start is to use another Rom as base (get permission first) then start tweaking it with scripts, apps and build.prop tweaks. Once you start to get familiar with the basics, start experimenting with different tweaks. Since you are going to create a Cyanogenmod 10 Rom from scratch, I give you best of luck and hope many people will use it!
FINALLY!

I'm currently working on it. It still does not support audio/bluetooth/wifi/phone/usb nothing. It just supports full touch n can run games. You can't use it for calls/internet! I just sideloaded few apk files via adb. So it ran them smoothly. N don't call me sir please. I hate formalities.. just chill

[CM DEVELOPMENT] Asus MeMO Pad ME172V

Today my wife got this device as a gift for Christmas. She asked me to look at it and set it up for her. After about an hour of research I was deeply disappointed by the fact that this device has no ROMs or Kernels and barely supports ROOT. The device is kind of slow for 2013 due to its one core 1GHz processor. But I am sure this issue would be fixed with optimizations from custom ROMs and Kernels. I myself am not an android developer but do some coding in the free time and worked on a few ports of sense for several devices. On this thread I would like to get as many developers possible with the Asus MeMO Pad to communicate and collaborate to develop a working port of CyanogenMod for the device. I will be happy to help anyone interested in this project by doing some work in the free time. I chose CyanogenMod as it is probably the easiest one to compile and is much simpler than its competitors. If we get a successful build of CM then we can move on to developing Kernels and more complex versions of Android. Keep in mind that this is not a request for any particular developer but just an invitation to collaborate and build a working ROM for this tablet. If you are interested in working with me on this project please PM me or comment down below. I will be glad to help as much as I can. Thank you to all of the developers that would be willing to participate in this project.

I did the AMPC app and mini rom (not a full rom but more mods collection)
How are you skills to decompile img ?? since the guy who did root before is no more...and we should start by doing root for latest FW.
and CWM is also very buggy (build using online kitchen)
Please feel free to PM me
I'd like to but I don't know android coding. I do some basic Java programming if that helps

Thank you for you reply also, as of right now I don't see our need for any Java coding, but maybe if we find a need for it I will message you. Thank you once again.

Hi! I'm the guy that made CWM for this tablet, as well as the one on whos idea the whole root thing is based I'm very glad that someone picked up work on this tablet and is trying to make it better, since I don't have the time and I've lost my patience since ASUS is refusing to co-operate as far as updates and source codes are concerned. You can always PM me with questions as well as all or any info you have and I'm also willing to test builds out. Thanks

Hiya @nerotNS, I'm currently new (a noob) at xda-developers forum but since I'm actually getting a memo pad what better way of installing cyanogenmod properly than asking for help. However I couldn't help but to find the source code, and I did. I'm currently still learning so the source code wouldn't be of help to me than it would to you. So that said, heres the source
==> support (dot) asus (dot) com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=ASUS+MeMO+Pad&p=28&s=6
(remove spaces and replace '(dot)' with '.')

Hmm that's the kernel source code, we already have that Though it was in a bit of a strange format, plus I firmly believe that it's outdated as I think ASUS made some changes in the kernels via OTA. Thanks for your tip though,it's good to see that someone's trying to do with this pad
RE: CM Development
Hello, new guy here at XDA, I do not have any knowledge to Linux or Android programming yet I know how to flash and play with recoveries and such things. I am willing to be a tester for this project.
waiting for someone to port this into CM...

I Too Am Interested
I may be able to lend my tablet for the cause of testing. Just can't brick it.
It's my 7 year old daughter's, so no harm no foul.
I'll look for updates
It could be hard to port on cm, because the chipset is VIA and no similar device successfully ported with this chipset..

Btw I'm a total noob with custom roms so it may take a while + my PC is old
Thank you Darthsternie
