Just a simple question. I want to ask whether GB roms support swap?
mine with fastboot do.
Did you mean that we just have to fastboot boot.img and the swap will be enabled, fjfalcon?
I tried yesterday and swap enabled as soon as i fastbooted. Question answered.

Getting ready to flash a new rom and was wondering if flashing will wipe the "built in" sd card?
Ive flashed many roms on many phones but all had removable sd's, just need to know if I should back up everything, thanks!
As you know, you should back up the sdcard before flashing anyway. This question was answered somewhere in sub-forum but forget where and the answer. I would not think it would wipe the 10gb section of the card. Just the OS section and maybe the 2.5gb app section, that you would restore with TB. Not 100% sure though. I haven't flashed a rom yet, just rooted and flashed custom recovery. Waiting for a very stable .78 rom, or whatever US number is, for US TMobile or the OTA. Phone runs so well, not in a hurry--
it wont wipe the sd card. its on a seperate partition and wont be touched.

Appreciate confirmation. I will have to look into repartitioning the card after a format, when needed. And, exactly what the partitions are on the card. Easy on the N1, haven't researched it yet on One S.
ok great thanks to both for the replies

Install bootstrap then search for JY daddy CWM on boot and install the zip after booting into cwm then download any ROM and follow the instruction provided by developer
Yes, you can install ROM even after having a locked bootloader

To answer your questions more accurately:
1. Can i install custom rom with a locked bootloader??
(Answer) Yes, the locked bootloader only has affect on our current Moto kernel, if it were unlockable, we would have the ability to flash other kernels and run such roms such as any of the cyanogenmod roms, as well as others. The locked bootloader means we can only run off the stock Moto kernel, and no others -at least to this date.
2. Can i overclock cpu?I tried using setcpu but it shows max speed as 1GHz. So i m confused.
(Answer) Yes, as long as you have init.d support within your rom or you can flash an init.d support zip file. It's as easy as changing the echo 3 table values to a higher CPU frequency. This is either done in 00pptimize or the echo 3 from in init.d folder (using Root Browser: system>etc>init.d)
Code:
# Droid3/Bionic/Atrix2 stock Settings
echo 3 1200000000 1375000 > /proc/overclock/mpu_opps
echo 2 800000000 1313000 > /proc/overclock/mpu_opps
echo 1 600000000 1200000 > /proc/overclock/mpu_opps
echo 0 300000000 1025000 > /proc/overclock/mpu_opps
3. If i do a factory reset, will i loose root??
(Answer) Yes, if you FXZ back to stock 2.3.5. you will lose root. But, in doing so, you can OTA update to 2.3.6. and run the one click root method (takes less than 5 minutes) to re-root your device.
4.Best custom rom if i cn flash with a locked bootloader.?
(Answer) This question is subjective, and you will get varied opinions based on which functions/looks/feels/tweaks/mods/etc. that certain users are looking for in custom roms. Your best bet is to try them all, and see which you like as per your own personal preferences.
5.In a few threads there are claims that recovery can be installed, some threads say we need to use bootstrap.
(Answer) In order to run custom recovery, i.e.: CWM Recovery, you need to install the RazrBootstrap.apk as well as the RAZR-CWMOnBoot-Global-J.Y.Daddy.zip. Follow the instructions found in THIS THREAD. It will step you through pretty much everything you will need to know. If you are still having some confusion regarding this, PM me and I can step you through the process!
Hi
Thnks for ur detailed reply.
One more ques.
Does installing custom roms enable us to use the full 8gb internal storage?
Sent from my MB865 using xda premium
To my understanding, no. The phones internal storage is reserved for the system.

Fall of Enosis is right, to an extent. Some of the storage space internally is available for the user to store, say some apps to. However; some, if not more of the internal storage space is reserved for system processes. That does not mean that you (the user) has no ability to store things internally, it just means that some of the space is already occupied by the system's proprietary processes. You're best bet is to buy a 32GB class 4 (ideally) and store most of, if not all of that which can be moved from phone to SD card. I am running a Kingston 32GB class 4 and have loads of free space still -even after 200+ apps, several hundred photos, and some documents saved to the card...
Hi there everybody (first post BTW)
I've been recently using XDA for Flashing ROMs on my SGS etc. But from few days I'm happy owner of brand new TF300T (no docking station) and got some questions and one problem.
I've just bought today micro SD card for my transformer and it's not recognizing it. My SGS and laptop do it well but not my TF...
The card is EMTEC microSD HC class 4, 16GB and it should be recognized by my tablet, but it's not -.-'
I've tried to reformat it (FAT32 and NTSC, and changing allocation unit (or whatever it's called) 16KB & 8192 bytes etc.) but nothing worked :/
Any suggestions?
Problem solved by myself, I've formatted SD card with default settings without checking option "quick format"
Other thing is flashing ROMs
What's the risk? Because SGS "cannot" (as far as I know) be bricked when flashing (using Odin flashing or CWM). I even once "bricked" it and had to use USB JIG to enter download mode to repair what I've done ;D
How about TF? Is simple ROM changing safe like in SGS? Something happens, caught boot loop or whatever and can I restore it?
Can I return to stock ROM to send it on warranty? In SGS I can simple install stock ROM and send it to repair.
Simple guide would be very useful and answers for my questions too, listen to some experienced users flashing ROMs for their TF; to get some simple knowledge about this device
About SGS I know a bit, I can change from any ROM to any ROM (from CM to MIUI, from stock Eclair to ICS, go back to any stock ROM, change kernels etc. etc.) and that's what i wan't to know about TF ;>
Sorry for long post, it was hard to explain you everything what i wanted to tell ya especially that English is not my native language :q ;D
I was searching over the internet about the app2sd things and how to create a partition with the recovery, I was about to do the partition when I read that not all ROMS are compatible with this, so my question is... how can I know if it's compatible?
Sorry if it's a dumb question but I'm getting tired of trying to use an ICS ROM and not having space to install anything after the ROM installation. :/
Thanks in advance.
I am seriously irritated with 2 partition bs while im screwing up my phone with different ROMs, TWRP's , ROOT est...
So is there any way to merge partitions so i can have one ?
I read somewhere that flashing MIUI is solution but i really dislike MIUI so i want to have possibility to flash different roms and i dont know if they demand 2 partition
no.

I don't understand the problem.
The easiest way to avoid issues with two partitions is once you upgrade a partition only boot from that one.
I normally flash BOTH partitions with the same OS version.
The issue is because although the ROM has a different partition, the settings for the phone are stored in a common partition.
Switching between rims in different slots will cause issues.
