I have a Droid Incredible Rooted using Unrevoked forever with S-Off. I have been running CM 6.0.2 for a while now and had an issue the other day with my SD card. The card died and when I put a new card in the phone got stuck in a boot loop. I tried reflashing CM 6.0.2 and gapps but I continue to get the same boot loop. I understand that you need to wipe all data but when I atempt to wipe the Dalvik Cache I get the the following message "E:Can't mount /dev/block/ (File Found)" what do I need to do to fix this. I have no phone right now and have become extremely dependent on using it for everything from GPS to MP3 player in my daily life so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have read some posts suggesting running logcat to find what error I am getting during the bootloop that is happening, but I have no idea how to do that. I think the main issue is that I cannot do a full wipe before flashing the ROM.
Please help! I don't want to chalk this up to a bricked device, but I won't be able to hold out much longer since I have to travel this weekend.
First of all, do not double post. It just clutters up the forums.
Second, you need to post this in the Droid Incredible forum or at the VERY LEAST, the Android Q&A forum. I'm not sure why people took the time to create all of the different forums around here if you guys are not even going to use them.
I'm just taking a shot in the dark here based on my experience flashing older Android phones. So do not tell me I'm wrong, AGAIN this is just an option to try:
Just boot into recovery and do a factory reset on the phone. AGAIN, I'm just going on what I CAN REMEMBER here. Use the hboot menu try a restore. Load a factory ROM onto the SD card (using your PC) and the flash it.
I don't know man, maybe I'm wrong about all of this. FACT is that I've had NUMEROUS phones that were in the same shape you are in right now and after google searching, a little common sense and READING I was able to fix the issues. There is a way to go back to your FACTORY ROM but I'm not going to waste my time doing the research for you here, it's your phone and you have access to the same information all of us do.
EDIT:
I mentioned common sense. With that being said, take a look at your own post bro.

I assume you meant "(File NOT Found)". You are trying wipe data off of a NEW SD Card here. How do you expect it to wipe files that are not even there to start with? Make sure your battery is fully charged before doing anything with the phone also. You might think that sounds like it has nothing to do with your problem BUT it can cause boot loops on SOME devices (android and others). Reset to factory from hboot menu. SKIP THE WIPE ALL PART BECAUSE YOU HAVE A NEW SD CARD. Just get back into your phone running Android and then you can redo everything from there.
Thank you for the response.
Sorry for posting in the wrong thread, perhaps a mod could move this to a more resonable place for this question. I'm not trying to clog anythining up. If that isn't an option I'll just create a new thread over there, but like you said that would just be clutter.
First: I did not mean (File NOT Found) the error says (File Found), seems like an odd error on a Formated SD Card that is why I mentioned it.
Second: I tried going to a stock ROM and it would not flash to the device I think it was looking for the previous official ROM that was relesed for the phone and would not install since that did not exist. The one that I downloaded was when Verizon pushed FroYo for the DInc, perhaps I can find one that supports a different upgrade path.
After trying all logical steps, google searches and reading many thread regarding people who have been stuck in this situation I was not able to find anything that was helping me restore my phone, that is why i started a new thread.
Roll Tide <<<< so you won't be so upset with me
The only reason I said posting in the device specific forum or android forums would be better is because there would be more people that know how to fix it viewing your question.
I'm shooting in the dark here but have you tried flashing Clockwork again? Just putting the .zip on the new SDCARD and flashing it? I'm sorry man, I've searched and tried to come up with a good answer but I've not found THAT much. Post in the Incredible forum would probably get your problem solved. I'm not sure that there is much of a difference between deviceds when it comes to recovery but I'm sure that you will get more accurate answer over there, even in the Android section.
Is not recognizing my external Sd. I am running CM9. Everything was working fine for a week. All of suddenly no SD card recognition .
Is there a step or steps for me to correct this problems. I want to go back to the Stock Exhibit rom, but has been unable to do so. I am at a lost, I have no idea what to do. In other word my phone and I am screwed. There a bevy of problems I have created and do not know how to correct them. Any help and advice would be appreciated.
Thank You in advance.
This is part of the risk you assume when you play around with roms. If you are not willing to assume that risk, then don't play around with things.
If your card is not being detected, make a backup of your card to your computer and format the sd card. Then copy the contents back once the card is recognised. If that is not working, then buy a new sd card and try with that one. It's quite unlikely that you phone has a broken sd card reader.
Not Recognizing my Sd Card
I assumed the risk, and I am not blaming anyone. I appreciate your help. Thanks.

I asked for advice about why my phone was not recognizing my SD card. I appreciate your suggestion. I accept all responsibility for what happened to my phone as I was playing around with things. It is not the end of the world, if I cannot get it back to recognizing the SD card or when it is connected to the USB. I will and can continue to use it as it is running CM9. Just wanted to return it to stock; so that I could play around with it again and flash a new custom rom to it. I am not deterred because of this one hiccup.
I thank you for that I have formatted the SD, tried another one and still no regonition. It can be the worst case scenario my sd card reader could be shot but I did learned how to flash and root, install a custom rom...no regrets there. Thak You for your help.
Hopefully you had made a nandroid backup of the stock rom after you had (again hopefully) installed recovery.
If that is the case then you can boot into recovery and restore the stock rom nandroid backup. If you do not have that, then things will get more complicated. You'll have to find a stock nandroid backup for that specific phone+carrier from somewhere and load it back while in recovery. If you don't have recovery, you'll have to push that on first while your phone is connected to the computer via usb.
I got it back by flashing stock via ODIN
I am back with the stock rom. Much thanks to all the people at XDA for posting questions and answers for the same problems I was having. I just kept reading question and answers forum pertaining to the Exhibit and I finally found the answers; of course nothing was easy after the ODIN download, the phone was in a rebooting loop. Someone had the same problem and I found the answer. I tried the solution and the phone booted up perfectly. I will give myself a week and then I will root it again and install one of the custom roms for The Exhibit 2. But now I am too tired and so glad to have my phone back as it was when I got it via Tmobile.
Thank you and everyone for your help and explaining it in terms whereas a person like myself came solve his/her problems.

Alright, I have been answering threads for simple stuff about rooting, and modding the p3113, and its cousins. If you have questions about how to do anything, please post them here, and I, and others will help you. This way we can keep a running q/a thread without flooding the forum with the same question. I am in the process of writing new how to's so hopefully we have the answers to your questions in a easy to find thread. Happy new year.

Is there an alternative place to find espressowifi-recovery-5-18.tar.md5 other than from goo.im...
Or what could I use for an alternative,

RESOLVED: The ODIN flash did work after I used the right tar file.
I buried this in another Q&A thread and have no replies so far. Maybe you could give me some advice.
I tried flashing one of those firmwares for 4.1.1 which was only 357 MB and it got stuck at the boot screen, It seems I had bad instructions I followed with a link to an incomplete flash file, perhaps part 1 of a 2 part download. When it flashed it last said it was updating remaining files and then went back to the recovery, When I rebooted it stuck at the recovery even after a data wipe. I tried flashing a 3113 rooted stock rom and it gives me an E:signature verification failed. I used odin to flash the 4.04 stock rom which passes, but it still freezes at the boot screen even after a data wipe. Should I try flashing CWM recovery through odin to get around the signature verification or does someone know another procedure that has worked to get back to stock 4.04 from this condition. I have seen this mentioned a couple of times in the development threads with users indicating that they got back to stock, but without details of exactly how.
The firmware I apparently partially flashed was GT-P3113_P3113UECLI4-OTA-P3113UEBLH2_XAR_374372839
Also I was not able to see if usb debugging was enabled since I could not do anything but recovery or download modes on the tablet.

How do I get back to stock and have no root access at all. I dont mean just flash a deodexed ROM and say thats it. I want to completely recover my device (P-3110 , same as P-113 just no IR blaster) to the original settings as supplied by Samsung.I need it to be fully updateable via kies and accept OTA updates.
Thanks

Power button and the Volume button directly next to the Power button will bring you into "Recovery mode".
Power button and the Volume button furthest away will bring you into "Download mode".
To boot into "Safe mode" When the tablet is on press the power button till the reboot menu appears then press and hold the Reboot button , until you get the option to boot into safe mode. Reboot and you are good to go.
Thought I'd try this rather than a new thread.
Hi Jeramy, hopefully you have some advice.
My problem: I want to be able to install some apps on the SD card, and still use the stock 4.1.2 that I upgraded to using Kies.
What I've discovered so far:
Samsung doesn't like moving apps to SD (Link2SD for example which makes a soft link in the normal Samsung place to the SD card)
First must jailbreak
Jailbreaking uses "odin" (something to put Roms on) and a ROM
So far I've got Link2SD, and downloaded some ROMs, but there doesn't seem to be a good ROM that is basically just the stock + superuser. I do see some for France etc.
One thought I had is will this work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1887757
Wherein they install some Zip somehow. What's the CWM do? Is it version dependent?
Anyhow, thanks I hope this makes some sense.

@Sean Seany
Thanks Sean for picking up the question. I have been shirking my duties here, and I apologize. Are you serious about your question, or are you pulling my leg. I know you have been around here much longer than I have, and have answered one of my questions already. If you are serious though, cant you just Odin back to stock with official firmware, and take the ota? This is my first Samsung so I am learning as I go. Though rooting Samsung's is so much easier than my Rezound. We have to short the board with a paperclip to achieve s off on it.
Edit, I used this to install the official from UK.(p3110) on my p3113. Complete stock. I would imagine you would do the same, just use all 3110 files.

@ QFX
First, sorry. I havent checked this thread today, and whenever i need something answered, i want it yesterday. It sounds to me like you haven't been in the android world too long. If you have, I mean no disrespect. So far, I have ran a few custom ROMs, but the stock experience is really smooth in my opinion. My best advice is to try a couple, and see what you like. Now to answer your questions. Clockworkmod is a custom recovery that allows you to backup your tablet in the state it is in when you make the back up. It also allows you to flash custom ROMs Like the ones you downloaded. It is a must have if you plan on rooting(jail breaking). Yes they are version specific. There are guides that will walk you through this, and it is pretty simple. If you look in the threads for cf auto root, the thread will walk you through it. After you do this, you will need to flash Clockworkmod. It is in the same threads. Look under development. Both of these files have to be flashed through odin on your computer. As soon as you flash Clockworkmod, reboot into recovery, and make a backup. This way, you can flash other ROMs, and if you want to go back, just restore your backup in Clockworkmod. I am crashing in a few, but will send you links to the files that you need tomorrow. Remember to read the guides a couple of times to make sure you understand everything before you try. After I send you the links, if you need additional help, pm me, and I will walk you through it. Good luck, and have fun
Add on
Apps2sd no longer works, but there is a script that allows you to switch your Mount points for external, and internal storage. I have a class 10 32 gig SD card that now works as my internal storage. The only thing is that you have to manually switch the files between the two at the start so the os can find what it is looking for. I will send you a link for that too.

I don't think that Google did this. My friend has a Galaxy II running 4.2.1 (custom ROM CM10) and can move apps to the external SD card.
I've tried rooting the my tab and installing the latest stable CM10 ROM but I still don't get the option.

Hi Jeremy,
I just rooted my 3113 and I've lost my external sd card when looking in my files. It is however showing that my internal storage is 29.7G. Obviously I've gone and loused the thing up somehow.. After exhaustively searching the fourms, installing "ntfs mounter" and "ntfssd," trying to mount from CW, and trying different cards - I'm more than a little fustrated. I just realized that the movies that I had on the internal memory are not showing either. Any help for a "12:00 Flasher: would be appreciated
I've got CW and I used "gtab2_jellybean_rooter"
@ caniknow it sounds like you flashed the partition swap that swaps the external, and internal memory. Try powering off, and removing ad card, then reboot. See if it can't see internal at all. That will give me some idea of what is going on. I highly recommend cf auto root for jellybean. Super simple, and works without issues.
@ rains try cf autoroot.

Ok, I did as you suggested
After rebooting without the card: Memory shows 4.49GB
Movies stored on internal have returned
My Files show correct list again
YAY!!! It's not broken!
Ok, now with the 32G card (formatted NTFS - forgot to mention that) reinstalled, the memory has reverted to 29.7GB and showing everything (yes, everything from internal memory; though it is showing that there are memory using applications, file and such, though different amounts) has disappeared once more. GRRR
Tried NtfsSd to mount card: nodda. Tried Ntfs Mounter again: nodda Tried powering down and loading CW, inserting the card and mounting there: nodda Tried touching my left ear whilst standing on one foot in 10" of snow and holding the power button, then swiping left, left, down, uppercut, triangle, square.... once again, nothing.
Back to without the card and rebooting. Everything normal. ?????? I'm now at a total loss.
All I want is to seemlessly transfer my +12GB movies from my media storage to the tab and watch them in the car using the bluetooth interface for the sound. I need the NTFS to do this without chopping the movie into little bits that ruins the sound - and so began this quest which is turning out to be epic. Please help me slay the monster that is my lack of programming knowledge.
I am looking for some guidance and assistance in the following matter.
Did a standard over the air update to JB and from what I can see I lost all my user data from my internal storage.
All my custom directory are gone, DCIM empty.
Been out of the country, not that it matters where I was, and the standard HTC One X device prompted me of a system update. (I have not rooted nor flashed any custom firmware on this puppy yet.)
All seemed to go smooth and the phone started normally. Although I lost all my data.
Android Version:4.1.1
Software Number : 3.14.401.31
First I wanted to ask if anyone has seen this behaviour before?
I tried to do some date recovery with Recover my Files v5 but now see that there is an internal SD mount issue with JB.
What would the best way be to proceed as I am only interested in trying to recover my data?
Thanks in advance.
Internal SD data has been lost or corrupted for some people (including myself a couple times) while flashing custom ROMs. Don't think anybody ever figured out exactly why, but it seemed related to the phone itself (rather than custom recovery or the ROMs themselves). So it wouldn't surprise me if this is the same or similar issue.
Not sure how to recover your data. There was a similar post (maybe last week) and I think somebody mentioned a couple market apps that might be able to recover the data in this situation (since JB can't mount as mass storage to use PC programs like Recuva).
Solved
Thank you Redpoint for your thoughts. I hoped that I would find an easy reply to solve my problem but in the end this is what I knew I ultimately had to do.
Quick summary:
Unlocked Bootloader via HTC Dev.
Flashed Recovery, Team Win Recovery Project 2.4.1.0
Mounted SD as a drive via Recovery.
Ran RecoverMyFiles v5 and recovered the files that I lost.
Now to go ROM shopping and start again. This time I will listen to my own warning and keep a copy online.
Nobody wanted to suggest that because all that stuff includes writing to the sd card which could overwrite your files. Glad you got some recovered

Ah yes, I always forget that the SD can be mounted as mass storage in recovery.
Nice job. IMO, unlocked bootloader is a great thing. Just probably a bit stressful under the circumstances!

This should be in Q&A, but there's no real reason you should have to format before root. Maybe if you are flashing a rom and want to get rid of old data...But I didn't wipe mine to root.
I had come from a Tbolt and used the 32gb card in the S3. just so i didn't have to deal with any problems between the two different phones leaving files specific to each phone and interfering with each other, i pulled a clean slate and formatted the card. no issues, it's just like when you first got your Tbolt and it came with a wiped clean card or even straight from the package.
would it hurt to have those original files on there? maybe and maybe not but why risk going through the process to find out.
good luck!!
thanks
