Hi,
I rooted my phone quite a while. Amd flased custom roms. Now im using OnceICS, and now wanted to flash new rom as current one is unstable. After flashing new rom the phone completely cannot boot up.. can i know whats happning and what i should do? Thanks.
hopefully, you made a nandroid backup before you flashed the new "unstable rom". use that to restore.

Is the new rom an ics rom? If so, you should flash the newest firmware that goes along with it. Are you supercid?

plz help. rooted sensation. I was running sense-o-maniac rom but switched to an ics rom using 4ext recovery but then my phone didnt start after 1 hour so i tried to put it into hboot and it said that no image or something and then asks ffor an update. When i do that update it reboots and gets stuck again but if i dont i cant press to go back only reboot where it gets stuck. What do i do? i am willing too do a full wipe or ANYTHING just gte me into recovery.PLEASE
Did you flash the recovery using hboot (pg58img.zip) If so remove it from your SD card (use an adaptor or just remove the SD and see if you can get to hboot as normal.

And if that's the case, you can put a Gingerbread ROM on the SD card and reflash that one. Should spin right up.
IF this is your problem
Yes most probably the problem is due to the flashing of the firmware. First flash the firmware required for ICS ROMS and then install the ROM, should work out fine for you
Guys. Im on ICS 4.0.3 and would like to return to stock Gb. How can I do so without running ruu.exe.
Is there a pg58img zip file I can fast boot flash to do so?? Have no PC at the moment.
Hope you can help

You can flash the 3.12 firmware and then you should be able to flash a Stock ROM.

Best option is to install the RUu fron shipped RUU op in development thread it returns to stock s on and unroot. I couldn't because I have no pc at the moment. Find the one specific to your.network and the LE editions are for XE sensation .
Hope it helps

Since it is a totally different firmware did you perform a super wipe?
No i did not but is there anyway i can reverse this or if i downgrade my firmware will or solve the problem thanks for replying to my question

Well I think you have answered your own question.
And I'm quite sure you are a little confused - firmware and radio are different.
You flash the firmware when you flash the ROM, the radio remains.
And no, you have to wipe everything (either via script or custom recovery) then flash the ROM of your choice again.
What firmware would you recomment for ordroid
Sent from my Sensation using Tapatalk
??? Looks like you did not understand. Try latest radio - FIRMWARE is already included when you flash OrDroid.
Oh Ok thank you

Hey guys, can someone tell me how to update my phone to run on 1.85 or higher. I'm on a mac and already rooted with unlocked bootloader. I'm not opposed to running a custom roms.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Do you have a custom recovery? If not, look around for CWM or TWRP. After that, download a rom and you'll be on your way Use the custom recovery to flash it (rom threads have more specific instructions) CleanRom 2.6 is what I'm running and I love it. It's based off 1.85/1.88
If have cwm then the only thing I need to do is flash the rom. Will that automatically put me on 1.85 or whatever? No other installs will be needed?

Ok I've been searching for about a month on how to root this, but I am not understaning any of the root guides. Here's my plan, my sensation came stoock s-off and now its running ics OTA, for now I just want root, so I'm planning to fastboot flash the 4ext recovery and install superuser. Would that work? Also, in the future if I want to flash a rom I just flash the firmware, flash the boot.img, then flash the rom. Is this correct? I'm comming from a mytouuch 4g slide were everything is much simpler then this, so I'm a noob.

If you are s-off you can do anything you want to. 4ext will let you flash any rom you want easily (regardless of if your stock rom is rooted). Since all custom roms are already rooted you can flash any new rom now and it will have root on first boot.
You can flash roms in one step from recovery. Wipe everything but the sd card then flash the rom. You dont need to flash boot image and what not separately from the rom if you are s-off. It'll do it all at once for you.
You only need to change the firmware if you are switching from Gingerbread to ICS/Jelly Bean. You dont need to do it for every rom flash.
And you can install Superuser from adb (and maybe from 4ext if there is an install script for it but Ive never tried that) to get root on your stock rom.
Basicly by having it come s-off from the factory it could not possibly be easier to root and flash.

So if i want to flash a sense 4 rom i just flash it through ext? Cool youre saying that i olny need to flash firmware if im going from gingerbread to ics but im going from ics to ics? If so, thanks for this for info!
Sent from my myTouch 4G Slide using Tapatalk 2
You don`t need to flash firmware if you pass form gb to gb or ics to ics. I`m convinced that your firmware is 3.32. Flash 3.33 from here http://d-h.st/bCV via bootloader.(You just put the zip on your sd card)
And after all of this you make a full format except sdcarc(from 4ext) and VOILA ! You`re phone is ready for all roms from here.
Why flash firmware 3.33? What does it do?
Sent from my myTouch 4G Slide using Tapatalk 2
It is newer....and maybe improve you signal. It`s only for ICS.
On my device signal was improved drastically.

And can you tell me the bestt version of 4ext to use
Sent from my myTouch 4G Slide using Tapatalk 2

//You find it here http://4ext.net/ (4ext recovery updater)
This can be installed directly from app.
