Yeah, I paid $600 for my 16 GB P6200 in Kenya (and it doesn't even have infrared!). They're $300-$350 on Amazon in the United States!

So nice
I am living in Malaysia. Last month I bought the tab 7+ with the price RM 1699. It also don't have infrared....

But the 300 - 350 ones at amazon are the WIFI only version. The GT-6200 is 457.

Guys I was waiting for 7.7 but it seems like ain't selling in Italy
Galaxy Tab 7 Plus P6200 16Gb dropped from 499€ to 350€ so I bought it
I can't remember a similar drop (in the whole world and in few time) such as this one for Galsxy Tab 7 Plus

Insist on change from the seller. I did when I noticed my P6200 did not have an infrared. Apparently they have 2 models; not sure why. The seller was puzzled too when I told them that the samples they have got infrared while the ones they got for me none. They changed w/o charge.

I believe the local models for SEA do not come with the IR Blaster as the peel program is not supported in the region.

GTab 7 Plus also has a massive price drop in Malaysia, from RM1699 to RM1399.. I don't know why, because 8.9, 10.1, 7.7 are still on the same price.
Just a speculation, if Samsung wants to finish the stock before they release Tab Plus 2?

in Malaysia... price for GT-P6200 (3G with IR)
Official Retail Price : RM1399 or USD460
Lowest price : RM1229 or USD400 (Original Samsung Malaysia set, not grey market ones)
What I know from SenQ (major distributor for Samsung products), Samsung is releasing the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1" and 7" very very soon, hence the price drop... also to compete with Ipad 2 price drop..
FYI, the Galaxy Tab 2 series are purely cost down version from the original 10.1 and 7plus...
The Tab 7 Plus is still a superior product from build quality and tech specs compared to Tab 2 series...
Anyway, PEEL remote kinda sucks.. no programmable options... The Sony Tablet S has.. need someone to port the Sony Tablet S remote software to the Tab..

all models have price dropped.. since IPAD2 price drop..
the 10.1" wifi is no longer available.. as the Tab 2 is coming very very soon...

In Europe too
last week i found here info, about price in italy for 380 € and today i buy here in slovakia for 387 €. Yesterday in same shop was 438 €.

I found this tablet at 349€ (p6200 3g+wifi) => and the shop give me also a "50 € voucher" to buy another item !

I still wonder why they drop tab 7 plus price
( since tab 2 is lower spec. )
no model in Thailand come with IR .......

[Q] 7+ UK Stock?

Does anyone know when the SGT 7+ will be widely available in the UK? There only seems to be a trickle of stock at the moment and the Samsung website even suggests there is no stock at all in the UK.
I also cannot find a 32Gb version of this anywhere. Surely there isn't just a 16Gb version?
The lack of stock makes me think this is why the price is currently so high (£349 for 16Gb WiFi only). Or is this a fairly normal price? I'm new to tablets and I would just have expected them to be cheaper than laptops and even netbooks.
Edit: Only Dixons, Currys and PCWorld seem to have stock but they are all the same company. Samsung website actually says they don't have stock so maybe they are just saying in stock to get people to order. I'm thinking that if they do have stock they are keeping the price high because no other retailers have it. That's my hope anyway so that prices will come down.

Negri Tab2 7 & 10 w/3G

looks like Negri has both Tab 2's in black. *for pre-order* Both unlocked with 3G. in case anyone is interested.
$850 get you a 10.1" ICS tabphone!
$650 for 7.0
Also has the all-white tab plus 3G on back-order.
They're usually good about getting their stuff though.

there you go guys.
3G radio specs are pretty limited, 900/2100 only. I still think that after the ICS update, us P6200 owners have the best device.
P_
Agreed. I will probably keep it until the end of the year. Maybe even next year.
850 so 650euro(!!) for an old gen omap4430 tab??
lol
galaxy note 10.1 3G+exynos4 QUAD will be 699euro in june and much better than this Gtab2 10!!
bye
That is pure speculation, rewrew.
Also 700€ is nearly $1300US....

[Q] 32 GB 3G version?

Anyone have any idea if/when this will be available in the UK or Europe?
If there's good reason to think it will be out soon I will hold off purchasing the note 10.1 for now....
Thanks
Can't say about the UK but over here in Oz they're as rare as hens teeth... Only found the 32gb 3g version at JB Hifi... and now its not advertised on their site anymore..... Oh yeah, cost $850Aud too which is really up there in price....

Probably be cheaper buying a 16 gig version then buying a 32 gig card from amazon.

On Thursday I finally got notification that the 32 Gb wiFi version was now available in Holland, so perhaps the 3G version will not be too far behind in Europe/the UK.
I bought a WiFi version from the US a few months ago and even with import costs of €100 it was good value - can you pick up a 3G one from another country ?

Thanks for the responses....There don't seem to me many available for shipping even internationally....there was one on Ebay US a few days ago but that would have set me back about £540 after all the import duties and shipping...
That would be £140 more than I could get it for in the UK with the £50 Samsung rebate.
I don't think I'd want to pay much more than £50 more for the extra 16gb, especially as i plan on sticking a 64gb card in there anyway...
I also have to decide between the grey and the white.....would definitely be going for grey if it weren't for the reports here of differing build quality between the two...

Differing build qualities, really?
I got a 32 gb from amazon uk for around £20 and 64 gig from around £40

Mate, my 32gb 3g grey note 10.1 has no faults.... I bought a 2nd for my brother and his has no faults. I bought a 16gb 3g grey one for a friend and they have no problems with build quality.... Considering the only real difference between the grey and white notes is colour then why would build quality differ?
And trust me, I have the 32gb version with a 64gb sd card. I'm running out of space... What you have you will use or lament the fact you don't have enough. Hindsight is 20/20 and you will regret not getting the larger memory...
Thanks again for the advice
Yeah, I will definitely be getting a 64GB MicroSD card. And I agree with you ultramag69 that will likely regret it if i settle for the 16gb note. However with the current purchase options (no 32GB 3G model available directly in UK) I just don't think I could justify spending £140 on 16GB of storage.

I totally agree that this sounds ridiculous. I'm still sceptical even after reading this thread. It's not exactly a scientific sampling however it does give pause for thought regarding the models available in the UK at least.

On contract means you'll have to sign a contract of 1 or two years with AT&T and the monthly bill will be no less that $60 for that time, after the competion of the contract, the phone will be yours

As you all know the iPod has a load of apps, that's it, that's where apple kicks ass, but I would choose the note 2 over the iPod any day... I'm just sick of the ****ing iPod/iphone anything that begins with the letter I

Buying on-contract is similar to buying the phone with a postpaid connection + EMI here in India (like Reliance used to offer long back when they started - 500 rupees phones). Most of the cost of the phone might be split as pseudo-EMI's in your monthly postpaid bill and you can't cancel the connection for the contract period (usually 2 years). Since you've to buy the on-contract phone with a connection - you won't be able to buy that through bestbuy as that would require you to submit the documents and application for a new connection in US.
Apart from that, most of the on-contract phones can be used as an MID / media player, but given that you've to pay the bill for a connection every month, there is no reason you would want to use it without the connection
Your android alternates for ipod touch are Samsung Galaxy Player models / cheap locked or bad ESN smartphones from ebay (locked phones / bad ESN phones tend to cost lower because its difficult to make them work with phone calls & data, but since you won't be using the calls / data, that's a good option.)
It would be better to buy the iPod touch 5 since it is small and easy to carry. It even has a good camera, siri, etc. Also, it should fit your budget.( if u have a budget) And if u do buy the Note 2, don't buy At&t version; instead buy the unlocked one.

[Q] Good price for this tab?

I can get this for around $260, is that a decent price?
is it a price you're happy with, how does it compare to other devices?
There are lots of countries such as Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, as well as the United States that use $ so depends which one you are in too.
Yeah, which model and which currency? New? Used? If it's a new P6800 model and USD $260 then that is a ****in' excellent price. But, more details are needed.
Sorry, probably should mentioned I'm in the US. This model is the Verizon 4g model.
I paid $225 for a sch-i815 off ebay for a used one with scratches.

Why such a difference between the i815 and P6800? Is it because one is GSM? Also, can the i815 be used as a phone, or is it tablet only?
I bought mine through Verizon for the same price and it was "used" but literally brand new with plastic and not a mark on it. Totally a steal man.

P6800 is universal and can be used internationally across various carriers using their SIM cards. i815 can only be used on Verizon network. So it limits you immensely. Besides you can't use firmwares directly released by Samsung on their website. That limits you further because you are on the mercy of Verizon.
However in the USA, you don't have major carriers (except AT&T) on GSM.
One major problem is: If you buy P6800, there is no warranty from Samsung USA.
!
i think that is goooood price
