Alrighty quick windows question.
I have a new labtop with windows 7. Its 1.3mgz duel core 4gigs ram
I just don't get this. I can only run one program at a time (and its slow) in safe mode its super fast so it must be some windows service slowing the computer but I don't know how to figure out which one.
On a side note if im in folder A and I move a small file to folder B even if there all on C DRIVE it takes awhile to move it Now I remember on my old desktop I had 5 years ago moving a file from folder to folder was instant, so im unsure why it acts like im moving super large files.
Should be easy to move a fille from location to location not sure if its my anti virus slowing things down or what but its frustrating I have run all programs I can think of I have messed with start up to try speed things up.. also I never seem to have adminstrator rights when trying to do things even though my account is adminstrator
so any thoughts? is there a good windows 7 or labtop website that might help me out? I want this dam thing to speed up a bit when im moving files. I don't get why it would take time to move a text file from a folder to the desktop that seems riduclous to me/ unless its because im downloading while I do that...
Like im installing a program now so I can't really do anything else I thought a brand new labtop would be good at multi tasking but its not and again in safe mode its lighting fast... so I think its a service but I can't think of anyway to figure out which one there are tons of services and if I turn wrong one off im screwed. any info be great... if wrong place post sorry thanks
i get that answer a lot
Go to the start button, search battery settings, and you should see balanced, and powersaver, hit the more button and high performance mode should be there, try that and lmk if that helps, if not I'll let u know how to do a fix from the bios
Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G using XDA
Keine Sorge, es gibt keine persönlichen Daten her. Aber du siehst dann das File sowieso.
Bitte dieses Programm mit Administrativen Rechten ausführen. D.h. rechte maustaste auf die *.exe Datei ausführen als Administrator wählen.
Dann startet das Programm und dort steht ein Button. Scan Computer and save a logfile (oder so ähnlich) dieses Logfile stellst du dann bitte hier rein! Einfach das Logfile kopieren und hier ins Forum stellen. Das wars.
So, jetzt warte ich auf deine Antwort bis dann/schönen Abend
//EDIT I am sorry, my brain had not realized that i read your text in english and write my text in german. So the english version:
First: How old is your laptop? When did you last format your system?
When your system is 5 years old and had no format, i would prefer to refresh the system. So to speak, to install windows 7 new.
Secondly: When your system is new, i know how we can change the system how you can get a powerful machine ;-)
But please answer my question 1 first, so i can save time to write a novel, how to speed up your system.
Thirdly: Please download "Hijackthis".
You can get it, when you search at google with the keywords "hijackthis chip".
It is a little program that can give me information about your system. So i can see, if your laptop is overloaded with programs/services. Furthermore i am able to see if you have an trojan or worm on your system, which slows down your pc.
So, now i am waiting for your answer.
Nice evening
Greetings

Download and install malwarebytes... run a scan with it. It should fix any problems you have with viruses or registry errors that are slowing down your computer.
3months old. had a system failier 2 months ago used system restore disks to reinstall windows. labtop never the same it seems...
when first got it was quick fast all time now its not however after taking everything off I could its faster like all special stuff but wtf it was fast when first got it... then after fresh install its been bogged down dunno what changed
Okay, i would prefer you make an format of your system.
Don`t worry it`s easy.
First:
Be sure you have a CD with Windows 7. When you don`t have it, say it to me and i will write you an answer on this problem ;-)
Secondly:
What have you installed on your system. Write it down.
For example: Microsoft Office 2007, 2003, 2010, Vlc, Antivir and so on.
Thirdly:
Make an backup of your data on an external hardware. Musik, Dokuments, pictures.
When you have Microsoft Outlook installed, DON`T forget your emails to backup!!! In Microsoft Outlook click left top on file and there is "Backup/Restore".
There you can backup your emails!
Fourthly:
Put your CD into your laptop and start your boot your system. Boot from your cd. (It is possible when you see your boot logo, for example "DELL", "LENOVO", etc. I don`t mean Windows!! while pressing F10 or F11, F12. It is different on every system. Then there you find a choice:
"Boot your system normally"
"Boot your system from CD"
"Boot your system from USB"
These sentences are also on every machine different, but the sense is the same.
Fiftly:
Follow the windows assistant to install windows 7.
When the assistant is asking you if he should repair windows 7, say no! Make an fresh new install.
Don`t worry. Although it might be difficult to sound, it isn`t and you cannot make something wrong or destroy your laptop!!
Sixthly:
When the assistant is finished, you have a brand new windows 7. Then you click start and enter "windows update". Make windows updates. Install your programs, what you have written at point two and you are finished!
Okay i hope I could help you and I am awaiting your answer ;-)
Wish you happy easter.
well I remember after last fresh install windows was slow. Its been slow sense it first acted up. Its fast in safe mode but when load normal windows it isn't.
I keep getting torn between if its possibly a hardware issue, or software.
I admit there are probaly a lot of running services from stuff being installed then uninstalled however its been slow sense fresh install.
I think I may try uninstalling all the crap see if it speeds up however with 4 gigs ram I would think it could run windows 7 with all the bells and wissles its very frustrating that it can't. I mean its lagging like something bogging system down... I wonder if maybe its the cpus I read that my labtop has slow cpu power common problem .... so dunno... I going think about it I don't care to reinstall everying again though maybe thats what it will take.
Anyone rec. a program that check to tell me if its hardware? If it runs plenty fast in safe mode its software problem? or maybe a service is tripping up windows... dunno maybe its a setting from when it got installed... something got clicked shouldn't have dunno.... I don't want to stress poor thing out have it break for good... figuer formating might stress the MB or HD out if thats the real issue... thoughts?

Some antivirus have the background programs ram occupation info. You should see if your's as that
I suggest to remove any unnecessary programs, to use C Cleaner and avast preboat scheduled scan for viruses
If not successful save your data and format
If you installed from CD, did you go to the pc mfg web site to load your drivers? Check device manager to make sure everything is working right. What kind of labtop I'd it?
Are you sure you did a fresh install or did you repair or just install a new copy of windows? You need to zap the partition and reformat.
Most newer computers have a restore partition that will reinstall your system just like it came from the factory. Did you go that route? It will also install the drivers.
its pain in the ass to reformat the system. I would be mad as heck if I did that and it wasn't any better..
When first got it I remember it being slick and fast. When I had it repaired I remember it being groggy like bogged down, I know the system restore cds (from toshiba) were used to fix it But I have no idea what opiton was used., I know there is a recover partition on it.
So how would I go about doing this? I don't really game on it much so I guess not a huge deall its just anoying how it hangs when I messing around doing couple things once. I dunno.. plus I barley got anything on it now if its slow now im worried once I start counting on it to be dependable its going crap out on me. If its a windows deal I would rather clean install fix problem but if its a mother board issue won't formatting just push it? Plus if I am going try get it fixed under warrenty (which im not sure will cover this) I should look into it now.
I just need know whats really wrong with it I guess.. I mean it works for basic stuff but it hangs some times restarting and it slow to do anything like any programs and it freezes a lot. (but in safe mode) its pretty dang fast and zippy..
maybe I want more from it then it can deliver. dunno I just want to know its not going crap out on me once school starts., Then again maybe thats what back ups for? I dunno funny my phone faster and more dependable then my labtop costs same too haha
What model Toshiba? Google it to find what keys to push during bout to get restore menu. Toshiba will make you go through that before they wool let you send it in for repair.
Please run "HIJACKTHIS" and post the logfile!!
how can I test if its hardware issue or mother board issue with out returning it?
if you can put a list of the processes you have active at the start of the computer i can tell you if there is somtnihg wrong on your pc.
If you would post your model, then find the keystrokes to get to the restore partition, then do a full restore from the partition,(not the cds) if it still acts the same then you have a hardware problem.
Since you are under warranty, i would call them and get a ticket open so you don't have to restore it again when you call for an rma.
Go to start, and type in the search box " msconfig ", click on it. Then go to the startup tab and uncheck everything. Restart it and see if that makes any difference.
Are you kidding me ?
Do you do anything what we say?
Run Hijackthis. So we can see your Software!
For problems with your harddisk (it could be possible) google for "Sea Tools" or "Max Blast"
motherboard problems - i don`t know. I am not able to say if there is a program on the net, that can tell you something about your "ability" of your motherboard.
Try task manager
Take a look in task manager to see what is using the CPU. Just in case you aren't sure how to get task manager up, you can go to it by hitting ctrl+alt+delete and selecting task manager, or by right-clicking your task bar (the bar that is usually at the bottom of your screen that contains the Windows start button) and choosing task manager. Once the task manager is started, choose the processes list and see what is hogging your CPU. To organize by CPU usage, simply click the CPU column header and that will organize the processes by those with heaviest CPU usage first.
If this doesn't give anything useful, you should run a memory diagnostic because maybe the memory in the system has gone bad and you aren't actually using the full 4GB of RAM. To run this, go to Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Memory Diagnostic Tools.
Finally, if this doesn't work, you may want to peruse your BIOS for any abnormal settings. This is broad, I know, but you can usually find standard BIOS settings for your motherboard on the internet. Not to mention, you may need to update your BIOS.

Hey folks,
I've had the O2 Orbit for just over a week now and have been trying various things with it. However, I noticed it took me 1 min and 2 seconds to access the windows directory!
Is this normal? Please post how long it takes you to access the folder...
Thanks!
SG
My Orbit Specs:
WM OS 5.1.342 (Build 15096.3.0.0)
ROM version 1.25.206.2 WWE
25 secs. Only had spb shell running as well.
Wow! That's quick, wonder why mine's so slow? Please all, post your times!
my specs are exactly the same as yours! what build and version of WM5 have you got?
WM5 is extremely slow at accessing the Windows directory using File Explorer. I find its quicker when using something like Total Commander, but even then its not as quick as WM6. Nothing to do with the processor speed, bug (if you like to clall it that) in WM5.
Yeah, I used File Explorer. Hmmm... you make an interesting point.
HPJ - what version of Windows Mobile are you using?
I'm on WM5. It's about as vanilla as they come. Like I said, I am only uing SPB shell....nothing else...the rest is out of the box! (And I might even ditch shell as it seems to run my battery down quicker.)
Oh, I have the storage card fix...that's it.
Yeah, I have the Currupt SD Card fix too...
All I have done is installed TomTom Navigator 6 , iGo-my-way and a couple of games.
This still doesn't explain why there's a vast difference in time to access the windows folder. Would be good to see what others are getting.
One thing I noticed is that my phone is unlocked. I put my Orange sim card in and it works!
Also, I've got an icon put on by O2 that actually lets me close programs down from the Today screen..
SG
markquinton, could you give us your time too?
yeah Ive got the icon from o2 with a load of things on it....
have you timed the opening again?? sure it wasnt just a one off? seems a bit odd, mine always opens before 30 secs
I've tried accessing the folder 4 times, it takes over a minute each time...
SG
o2 Germany released an official Windows Mobile 6 ROM, maybe that will satisfy you.
Just my two cents.
If you look at my common file dialogs you should get a time of 15-18 seconds for a windows directory on a wm2005 device to display. After that its ~7 seconds for a sorting in order of name, size or type if you click on the header. Thats showing all files (ie not hiding dll's etc as many file explores do).
Get it here from my old site http://odeean.veritel.com.au/programming_files/commonDialog.htm
SG - I wouldnt mess with the German WM6 (unless you really know what your doing).
If you've tried all else, and you're still within your 14 days, get o2 to pick it up and send another. And chuck something free in there for messing you about.
It just shouldnt take over 1 min, and you might find other problems if the phone has some core problem....could just be a lemon
Thanks for the adive HPJ.
This is something I did think of. But everything else seems to work ok.
There are a few reason that makes me want to hang on to it though:
I had spent 2 days getting my calender up to date.
I only use Outlook at work, but due to security we cant sync any devices to our computers. Do you know the best way to get my Calendar off the Orbit?
For all the other software I've put on, I've got a back up on my home computer so real problem putting these back on.
The other thing that makes me not want to give it back is that the phone is unlocked. I'm using an Orange sim card in there and have still got my O2 sim in my old phone. Are all the Orbits unlocked or did I just get lucky?
SG

use dotfred's pimbackup for calender (and contacts, and tasks, and sms...) backup.
and spb backup (the trial allows 5 x uses). save both to a storage card and execute on another orbit
(i agree, o2 don't lock their phones, and btw i don't own an orbit but all stock roms take forever to open windows)
i just tested the file explorer vs gsfinder, and the inbuilt file explorer was quicker
I have an Orbit. It takes mine roughly 6 turns of the colour wheel to get into the Windows directory with Resco Explorer. Its set to hide ROM files only; .dlls, .cpls, etc are shown as normal along with file extensions.
Its much faster after a hard reset. Its slows down as more files are placed in there. Sometimes (especially on the Universal) you can get a small reduction in the time by moving all the help files (htm and their relevant gifs/bmps/jpgs) to another folder (you could delete them, but then you would have to reinstall if you break something).
I think its the type of file that gets placed in there. If only software authors would stop loading the directory with squillions of little files, if only MS would set IE to use the SD card as the cache directory by default and if only various other things like ring tones, today plugins, etc could go somewhere else.
Decentralise, etc.
Thanks bbobeckyj for that program, I'll back my phone up tonight. So it's not just my phone that is slow
I understand where you're coming from ward, it's a shame that the device doesn't keep files in tidy places. This is the same for the Storage Card, there are folders created on there which have no files or stuff that never gets used!
Yeah. I keep finding folders called "FilesToBeDeleted". They're always empty.
I am not the type of person that does hacks or uses cooked ROMs, but since I have been told that Win 6.1 is not forthcoming for my Treo 750, can someone please tell me in simple terms how to install it? I am in the US, have AT&T for my provider, and have a Treo 750.
Here is what I have tried:
I already have the 60+ MB cheeimg.nbh file sitting on the root folder of my 2GB Storage Card. I tried many times - hold down the push-to-talk button and then push the reset button. Nothing happens, except for three bright colored bars. Or am I not waiting long enough? I dunno.
I read that the Storage Card is supposed to be reformatted to 32-bit (or something like that) - I don't have a tool for this, and all my apps are installed there. I don't want to lose everything. Or will I anyway? Is there some sort of SD card reformatter?
I have downloaded things like the CheetahUnlocker.exe, the RUUWrapper.exe, the Treo750Radio1[1].54.07.00.rar file, and the Treo750_OS5_2_19199WWE_STD.rar file. I don't know what to do with them.
I don't want to unlock this phone; I am still going to run it on AT&T, I just want the 6.1 OS, that's all. It is getting silly. I was going to just buy another phone, but really, the 750 is fine - it runs great. I just want to try the 6.1 OS. If it is even better than 6.0, then great.
My wife wants me to just junk it and get an iPhone, like she has. I don't want to do that, the 750 is great for me.
Oh, well, guess no help here
Just so you know, I am not trying to trick anybody, and get them in trouble, or anything. Surely, someone has been able to get WinMo 6.1 installed on their AT&T-branded Treo 750.
You just need to search a little harder, but the wiki is where you should start.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Cheetah_Upgrade
Well, here goes...
I copied every single file on my Storage Card to my PC, as a backup, just in case I needed anything. I downloaded the 6.1 cheetah file mentioned here.
I didn't know how to format my Storage Card to Fat32, so I googled 'format storage card windows mobile' and found a program called Flash Format, on CNETX. It has a trial version. I installed it to my device (not the Storage Card, obviously), and it formatted the Storage Card drive to FAT32 in a few seconds. Then I followed the steps shown here.
I rebooted, and guess what happened? It set my OS to Australia's at WM6.0, not 6.1.
[email protected]$%@#$%!!!!
So I started up the old 6.0 updater that I got from Palm, and it said nope, you already have a newer version.
%&*%&*&^!!!
So, I started it back up, and stopped at the first screen. Then I searched my PC for the payloads.xml file, and found it, and the 6.0 CHEEIMG_FW.nbh file, renamed it to CHEEIMG.nbh, stuck it into my Storage Card folder, and started the bootloader.
I rebooted, and guess what happened? I am still at the Australian version.
*#%^&%&!!!
Ok, finally figured it out - whew!
Look, if this happens to you, do this:
1. Launch the Official Palm updater (Treo750_2_25_ATT_EN_DesktopUpdater.exe).
2. When the window pops up, do not click Start. Instead, do a search on your PC for a "payloads.xml" file.
3. Edit that file; change the high version to 2.3
4. Now, click the start button on the updater.
I kinda liked the Australian version, because it had MSN Messenger and some other things that AT&T USA did not have. But it also was missing the AT&T Proxy app. And it seemed to run slower?, I dunno, although it did work fine for me.
Oh, well, I guess I don't want WinMo 6.1 that bad!
I was scared there for a while - this is silly. Other people have WinMo 6.1, but I will never have it for my Treo 750? I guess they are not in the business of supporting old phones, just selling new phones.
I guess I will just stay with the old WinMo 6.0 until this phone eats it. Then I will buy a new phone.
Why are you being so dramatic? Of course you can have 6.1 on your phone ... it's really not all that difficult.
First, you have to run Hard SPL. Instructions and the download are a 'sticky' on the top of this forum. You must do this step. If you don't the OS upgrade won't work.
Then use the SD card method to upgrade your OS to 6.1. Forget editing payload files and the like. It's simple and works.
I know you said you don't want to unlock your phone, but honestly, it makes no difference to your ability to use the Treo on the AT&T network by doing so. In fact, you won't even know your phone is unlocked.
Thank you very much. It works now.
Okay, I didn't know that I needed to unlock the phone (and that unlocking would not affect my AT&T service). Thanks. I thought people only unlocked phones when they were going to sell them for use with another carrier. This is my first unlock.
Steps included:
1. Connect the Treo 750 via ActiveSync to your PC.
2. Run the CheetahUnlocker.exe program.
3. Ignore the stuff that says Hermes, and just click the buttons.
4. (If you didn't do this already), get FlashFormat from CNETX, and install it on your Treo 750, then run it to format your Storage Card to FAT32.
5. Copy the WinMo 6.1 cheeimg.nbh file to your Treo's Storage Card, in the root folder.
6. Hold down the PTT button and then click the reset buton under the Storage Card door.
7. You now have Win Mobile 6.1. Whoo hoo.
Hmmm. Now my Voice Command app is gone
That is wierd. I had Voice Command before, (on my Treo 750) and now it is gone. Anybody ever have this happen?
Voice Command and Remote Desktop were not part of the WM6.1 build as far as I can tell. At least not on the one I'm using (Full version, not Lite).
You can get the CAB files for each of those and install them separately. I did install the Remote Desktop, but don't use VC, so never bothered. I did see that some people were saying that older versions of VC 1.6 were having issues, but it seemed to be hit-and-miss.
Sorry I don't have the links handy, but I'm sure they can be found with Google.

sooo, because i'm a cheap basta*d i'm going to buy a dvd player with gps for my car on ebay and i've noticed a lot of them, or even all of them?, run on windows ce. So here's my question, will any cab run on windows ce? i mean, winmo 5, 6, 6.1 and everything before that ran on windows ce right? so how easy would it be?
Picture this, a 8-16gb sd card, jam it into the card reader and start up S2P (slide to play) for one bad ass cover flowin' music center! obviously other thing would be useful to, and since these bad boys are only like $300 buckaroos it isn't a bad idea, especially for us gadget pr0n guys right?
what about flashing a rom from a SD card (only heard rumors/speculation about that, probably not possible)? or just loading up manila 2d/3d via throttle launcher and getting the think looking pimp? no phone antenna, no problem, just sync it through the bluetooth and make calls (new app required i'm guessing, or at least adapt/beautify some existing cab/exe). get internet sharing to work on it somehow and you're seriously looking at a pretty cool carputer. well, with all i'd want to use one for anyways. Who wants to do more than what a good rom on one of our phones can do while in a car anyways?
I'm not sure if it will run out of the box like that, with nothing more than some cabs on and sd card, or if you have to do something else (file explorer and whatnot), but i figured xda would be the best place to start for the right answers. I've never gone wrong before with you guys, so speak up! let's see what we come up with!
or at least give me a link to a better place if you know of one and i'll get off my soapbox...
anyways, i've got access to a few vogues, a wing/herald, and a touch pro to do testing with, along with the dvd player/win CE unit--in about a week or two that is--so i'm more than happy to put it on the table.
Man i hope you guys are reading this and as pumped as i am.
anyways, pm me with anything, or i'll just keep looking to see if anyone else posts here
amruthwo

does anyone know if this would even work?
This could work.
First of all, you need to look up how to disable OEM's shell (factory "software" of the player) and enable Windows CE interface.
Next you either install Handheld PC apps, or install libraries which allow you to run applications from PocketPC.
Myself I tried it with a cheap GPS. Yeah, WinCE + apps are a major step up from maps only, but it is not anywhere close to even a non-phone PPC. Because of, for example, lack of WiFi. The big advantage is, that I can install any WinCE compatible map instead of outdated OEM maps.
Hope I am right, and this helps
Where did you find information about your GPS? I just got one, model# TID-7626GPS that I'm going to try to mod, but i can't find information about how to get the WinCE.
if you could pass on any links to places i could look it would help a ton. For how do disable the factory OEM and those libraries?
First you need to find out real manufacturer of your device. I googled model name you said but there's nothing
Or, connect that device via ActiveSync (yes, the same) and see if there's a file \Windows\autorun.inf
If it exists, backup it. Then change it so it will load \Windows\explorer.exe
That should unlock WinCE UI.
However, the file may not exist. In this case you have to look for instructions over the web.

THANKS ALOT for this, been looking to update my aged, and slow, yet my favorite phone which is still my main one.
I have couple of questions,
1) I see from the russian site u linked there is a WM 6.1 EN rom for it, what build is it, older than this rose_rom's 20757?
2)Which one is faster, this or WM 6.1 EN? (i am interested in speed rather than the 6.1 homescreens or overbloated dial skins)
3)i downloaded few days ago from a chinese site a file called otto wm6.1ru.abi. is it more or less the same? the translation on that page says they got it from 4pda. also from the screenshots of that site, radio ROM wasnt included, does this or WM 6.1 EN has a radio ROM?
3)What is the writing system on this rose_rom and WM 6.1 EN is it the bit annoying xT9/eT9 like all the 6.1 ROMs out there, or the amazing Palm dropdown autocomplete IME as in the original 6.0?
4)For speed and keeping the same features as the origial 6.0, which one do u recommend?
5)As i understood from chinese to english google translation from that site, to flash this, i need to format an SD card with Fat32, put the .abi file in it, enter bootloader(pressing down+on) and it will autoflash, is this correct?
6)What languages it comes with?
Again Thank you very much for this and your time, and I hope i didnt annoy you with my questions. Althoug i have many HTC Smartphones, this phone is my favorite and the only one i actually use from day to day with my custom mods on it. so i cant just try and flash stuffon without getting info about it.
Thanks.
1.And here and there, Microsoft's emulator v.6.1.4
2.my_rose-Page Pool Size=8Mb.
6.1EN(China)-Page Pool Size=4Mb
3.Отто wm6.1ru.abi=6.1EN(China),included 4pda bootlogo.my_rose included orginal Palm bootlogo
Radio ROM is not included in my_rose.abi.On from Russian WM6(off.)
4.System of writing the standard for Russia, includes English, Russian and Ukrainian input
5.my_rose is quite fast, IMHO does not require additional action to increase the speed
6.Yes, I used Transcend microSD 2Gb/fat32.Ne use SDHS.
7.Only the English, as well as in Microsoft's emulator
Sorry for my English, Google translator

Thank you for your quick answers, its ok i figured its google translator but you give me all the info i need, as long as its faster, has english, and u flash it with fat32 microsSD, it is what i am looking for.
Also i registered last night with 4pda.ru to check the WM 6.1 EN it also turned out to be same build, 20757. (took me 1 hour to register trying to figure out how the security code work, i kept copying/pasting russian characters, it turned out to be XX+XX=)
I decided to go with this Rose ROM, hopefully i will try it this weekend.
Thanks again.

Any luck trying? I'm so tempted to try too, but the only thing holding me back right now is the fact that I can't go back to the original ROM if anything goes wrong.
Or is there a way to revert if you prefer the original palm WM version?
Thanks to caramba_sda, I almost gave up hope on seeing a new WM version on my palm.

IntrudersMissedCallsSmsFix-The substitution of adopted SMS missed calls on the name of the notebook (contact).
tgetfile-system library necessary for certain programs such as Notepad
OK I FLASHED THIS. 1ST IMPRESSION IS EXCELLENT, THE PHONE IS MUCH, AND I MEAN MUCH FASTER THAN STOCK ROM AND LOOKING GOOD. STANDBY AS I USE IT NORMALLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY WITH CALLS, EXCHANGE PUSH AND (FINALLY) SMS-CHAT AND I WILL POST MORE CONCLUSIONS.
Boots in an ONE INSTANT, instead of ONE HOUR, and everything is so responsive, also windows folder is quite small and opens quickly.
Finally the LAG on the stock 6.0 is gone. I removed the clock on top and the battery meter, dont like those. Also i need to install Office and Windows Live and bring back my looks then it will be perfect.
Again Thank you very much caramba for your hard work and reviving that phone again.
EDIT - UPDATE ON STATUS
Activesync/Exchange Push, Emails, Contacts and Calendars works flawlessly and perfect. Still as fast as the 1st boot with all my mails and contacts in it. As well as Text Messaging also perfect. The best part is that the original autocomplete has remained and not replaced by that xT9.
However there are 3 issues now, only the 1st is critical with me.
1) the keyboard map is russian, the normal chars are proper english, all the alternalte chars are in russian (when pressing UPARROW) for example i cant get the upper symbols on the keyboard like ? , ' ; $ " @ / i get instead this Ю Б Э Ж Х Ъ this is very important. although in the registry it is 409 the keyboard layout, and the keyboard mapping/driver is pxa27x_keypad_Us.dll.
UPDATE ON THIS ISSUE(FIXED): Checked every where all the registry entries are correct, i tried replacing the pxa27x_keypad_Us.dll with the stock 6.0 one, keyboard froze and didnt work. Edit: Fixed with new release.
2) IE 6 .... I wish u didnt put that horrible browser in and stayed with IE 5, it is slow, the mouse cursor to move takes time and it corrupts the screen where it moves. anyway to revert to IE5 without flashing back.
UPDATE ON THIS ISSUE(FIXED): Found a registry work around, HKLM\Security\Internet Explorer\MSHTML from 1 to 0. I included a CAB for this. Will downgrade to IE5.
3) The font is a bit jagged, or not as smooth as before, specially bold, either it has been edited/replaced or Cleartype not working proper. I will try to replace Segoe with the latest one i have and check later.
UPDATE ON THIS ISSUE(ACCEPT): Tried the stock font, still the same. since it is not a big deal it is ok.
I've downloaded the *.abi file. But how to flash the device ?
copy it to an empty formatted microSD card, put the card in the phone, switch it off, press the down arrow on the the d-pad, while pressing it turn on the phone, it will load in bootloader and autoflash it, u will see red progress bar followed by green bar till its finished, then it will boot super quick.

Before u flash it could u please copy the included segoe.ttf and segoeb.ttf from the \Windows folder and post them here.
Thanks.
I've got some problems with flashing it... I formatted the storage card (16gb) to fat32, at least, thats what the tool on my smartphone said, en copied the *.abi file on my storage card. I restarted my phone as instructed en the boot manager starts but doesn't do anything! It's just doing nothing with the palm logo on the background and some red text above it (something about the version or somwhat).
Could someone plz help? My phone is a Treo 500v
btw, here are the 2 files u requested. peter4stra was just asking the first q for me because i didn't had an account here...

thanks for the font. I am not an expert at flashing that palm, it did work with me the 1st time i flashed it. I will start at looking at a more reliable microSD card and smaller size, fat32 on a 16gb will cause corruption, go for a 2GB, good brand.
The font is 4 the russian charactars i guess? Hope it works . you're welcome
Brand of my current is Toshiba. Is it possible to make only one partition on it of 2gb?
I just found a 512MB card. currently i'm backing up the data and then i'll format it and try again. I'll keep u posted.

Not sure about partitioning microSD card, never tried it or heard of it being possible.
No the font is not for russian, if u read my comments on the ROM, i am having slight issue with the font display for some reason on stock it was better, I am not sure if it is the font or some cleartype changes but i will try the stock font and i will see, probably it is the same exact font. it could be just me seeing things
Also this ROM have 1 big issue with keyboard mapping of the alternate characters, ther russian and i am trying to get them to be symbols as my hardware keyboard, but no luck all the settings and drivers are correct.
Apart from that it is super, and I mean super FAST.
UPDATE: The fonts didn't make a diffrence. same. could be settings, i will look through that later. anyways this is nothing to be worried about. also not every day i get emails with big bold green in it. only issue is the symbols.
That did it! Used the 512 MB card and flashed it. It booting like a f1 car, and the look and feel is like: AAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWHHHH!!!!!!!! WAAAAAAA!!!!! really cool xD
Thanks for posting this rom!
I don't really have problems with the symbols.. Just press alt and all the symbols just appear as they should be.

I can confirm purchases work. There seems to be an issue with some of the installs as I have had issues getting some of the trials to work. I was able to purchase "Fruit Ninja" and it works correctly, however. I will try to reinstall some of the trial apps that didn't work correctly(e.g. "The Harvest") and see if I get the same result.
I tried that, now it takes forever when I click "buy" or "test", but nothing happens.

How come that you have memory left? I don't have any memory..do you use an sd card?
I've purchased about 15 apps n games with no problems and I've still got over 6gig free space.
If win phone 7 comes with non accessable sd storage and you've set up your HD2 without an sd card, you're gonna have space issues and possibly os issues because it expects to see the sd. It might even say, I've got problems here and return some error codes.

WP7 Rule #1:
Assume your HD2 is a real WP7 thus :
*You shouldn't remove ur sd (Assume it's an internal storage )
*It should be atleast 4GB
