[Q] Lockscreen Try Again in 30 seconds Problem. - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Hi everyone,
I've recently bought my i9003 and playing it. But I've found a problem on my latest stock rom. Once I turn on my phone, it ask me to try again in 30 seconds to unlock. But I haven't even tapped the screen. Anyone have the same problem? Sorry if I asked a same question twice but I can't search that problem on xda. Thank you so much.

It happens when someone fails to unlock the screen for 5 times in a row. Maybe it aaccidentally occurred when it was in your pocket?
Cheers

That's odd then. The lock for 30 seconds is only after someone unsuccessfully unlocked the phone 5 times in a row.

Well I had this problem on my previous phone already(X8) and I thought it's just the problem of it but got the same problem even I bought a new one... Annoying

Well did try any other firmware version first? may be it is a problem of the firmware instead of the phone itself. Uses odin to flash a XX (Russian) version firmware and uses English as the language to test it out.

well by heavy i mean it has some glitches when opening apps and the wireless takes time to connect sometimes an error word located near the small box when you check the wireless from the setting. two days ago i upgraded the firmware from kies directly to XXKP3, pda:XXKPH but when it reached 57% i had to leave the house for an hour and when i returned the internet was down and the upgrade supposedly finished. some changes in the interface like unlocking and calling but the same issues above remained. how can i check if the firmware were probably upgraded and my pervious question how to fix the glitches. i know this is too much to ask my friend.
thank you

That is a custom ROM right?
I think so! Can you suggest me something or maybe a hardware problem? Thanks
Doubt it's hardware. Try another ROM or kernel.

No because I do not have that device, so I cannot intelligently recommend one. Plus everyone likes something different in their custom ROMs. Just find one that looks like it has few bugs in the change-log.
Here is all I could really find with fast searching
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32953254
It doesn't look like that tablet has a lot of development anyways, where did you find the custom ROM you're currently using?

[Q] Help/advice if it is possible. Thanks

Hello. I had my i9003 rooted since 9 months ago and it works perfectly.
Like 3 weeks ago I updated the firmware trough the phone updating tool and the problems started:
-Battery started to last only 3 hours.
So I tried to find a kernel and a rom to solve it.
I installed thefrankestain mod and the bam kernel and it started to turn off suddenly all the time. I freaked out and I try to find "the most stable rom" in forums... finally I found a gingerbread 2.3.6 firmware with recovery and I use it
I have this data:
firmware version
2.36
base
I9003XXLE4
kernel
2.6.35.7-CL1143078 [email protected] 156 #1
compilation number
GINGERBREAD.XWLF2
I calibrated the battery and all that stuff and the phone keeps turning off when I use an app more than 5 minutes!! I hate that.
I don't even know how that data mean (my phone data), I know I am a noob and a loser as I have just watch in the xda video but I will be glad if someone give some thoughts of what is happening to my phone, if it is any solution and
if anyone recomend me any kernel/rom combination that avoid my problem. (links will be helpful as well)
Maybe it's your battery that has gone bad. Is you battery swollen? Can you put it on a flat surface and see if you can rotate is easily?

[Q] Random freezing when screen is turned off

Hi guys,
I've bought my Nexus 5 about 2 months ago and I'm pretty happy with it. So far. Since a few days it freezes randomly. Particularly when the screen is turned off. The effect usually occurs when I turn off the screen and turn it back on right away. Also, when I plug off the charger. Usually, I just have to wait 3 seconds and I can turn it back on. But sometimes I have to wait up to a few minutes until it works again. That usually doesn't happen to often, but I have the feeling it's getting more often.
Any ideas?
Btw: My phone is rooted, but no other modifications where made.
Cheers, Liquid

As far as I'm concerned, no. I rooted the Nexus with a Nexus Rootkit. After the root I found BusyBox Free,Quick boot and SuperUser in the app menu.

I can't help with the problem, but if you're rooted anyway then it might be time to dip your toes into the wonderful world of custom ROMs
I suggest Purity, Elix-R or Cataclysm.. but I expect if you try Purity first you'll stick with it :good:

That's weird to have Quick Boot app after rooting... Are u using any app to manage your lockscreen or notifications?
Does it appear right after rooting?

I started using custom roms, with my XDA Orbit and then later on with my HD2 and I got stuck with Cyanogen. So I'm solemnly awaiting the stable hammerhead version. But since you've mentioned three other roms, I guess I'll just have a look at them for the lulz :cyclops:

Thanks guys for your support on flashing a custom rom
But nevertheless, that still doesnt' explain where those random freezes are coming from. Any idea how I could at least narrow my search for the root cause down?

The logical way would be to reset and install one app at a time, but its a long process.

Could do that or use Greenify and a task manager to see what's running, and to auto kill everything but the essentials with Greenify. Task manager would only be for checking running processes. Grab rom toolbox, it has a task manager and an auto run manager. If I had to guess, it's something that has no business running all the time anyhow.
