Hello,
While I'm waiting for 4.0.4 to be pushed to my devices, I tried some tricks I picked up from the internet.
But now I made a little mistake, instead of only clearing the data of Google Services Framework, I also disabled it, after a few reboots it simply won't start anymore. Maps is giving errors when the phone is booted and the Play Store does not work anymore aswell.
The option to manually search for updates is also gone and the phone won't react on *#*#CHECKIN#*#*
How can I start the process again? I want to use a Factory reset as last resort

TL;DR : Google Service framework won't start on-boot even after a factory reset and after flashing new ROM, and it only starts on installing a new package(app) for a brief of time then closes again.
Hello,
Lately i found that Google Service framework was acting strange, i noticed that i get none GCM notification at all, and that it's service isn't active although Google Play service was active, i've no Services disabled nor any app is disabled or uninstalled.
but i also noticed something more strange, The Google Service Framework ONLY starts and becomes active when i install a new package(app), after that i receive my notification normally, but it closes after some hours again and i lose the notifications.
on rebooting the Google Service Framework won't start or becomes active until i install a new package(app), I've checked the the Receivers and enabled each one even those who were disabled by default.
i decided to do a factory reset, ... nothing worked.
i flashed a new ROM (stock ROM that i used to flash and i used it before alot) and wiped the cache, etc...
Surprisingly the problem was still the SAME !, what is the problem ? the Device is like a brand-new one.
i didn't install a single application except for the GCM tester.
i also that the service "ProxyGtalkService" is active while it was disabled by default in the normal condition.
i don't know what else can i fix to have it work probably.
Any ideas ?
Hi
What device are you using ?
So I was at school and my phone kept popping up that Google Play Services has stopped. It keeps popping up and I cant figure out how to fix it. I tried clearing the Play Services cache and the framework cache but it still keeps doing it, virtually making my phone unusable. Please help.
Do you remember any changes that you made quite recently? Like disabling or uninstalling any system app, for eg. Google XYZ, internet browser, etc.
I got this too, after updating exodus rom
I just installed the Tipsy rom for MM 6.0..and i installed open gapps as well. I cannot get past the setup part of the phone when it first kicks back on after reboot. i am able to sign in on wifi, then system checks for updates, then it asks if i have another device, i say no thanks, then i push next, and i get the "google play services has stopped" message, and i cannot proceed anymore. any suggestions?
Although now old this phone is adequate for my needs. When it started to get extra sluggish I decided it was because of bloat ware that came from Google and Samsung. I replaced the os with the CyanogenMod 11-20141214 (Codina). It worked well and regained its original speed. This resulted in Android 4.4.4 kernel 3.0.101. I still have the CM11 file I used to do the Mod.
Unfortunately when I installed CM 11 I did not realise that I should not remove google play and google services and so I often got error messages, but I could live with them because I do not use the phone much. I only use the phone rarely but use Wechat occasionally.
In the last few weeks the os has deteriorated so that:
I can not install apk's from non google sites as I get a google services error.
Previously installed apps that require updates fail because of a parsing error that prevents their installation.
The Swift keyboard does not popup anymore so I can not type on the phone.
I think that the best thing would be to do a reset. Do you agree? When I did this some long time ago I recall that I needed the google apks to install otherwise I would not get the phone to work as if it was reset back to factory condition.
I also have a lot of apps on the phone that I would like to reinstall once the phone is reset. I would also like to ensure I do not lose the wechat settings and friend's contact details.
Unless of course I can avoid that hassle and correct the phone without a reset, what is the best way for me to go about reseting the phone to factory condition and then repopulating the phone with the current apps plus their settings and data, plus the missing apps from google?
Should I aim to continue to use the CM11 mod, or go for another Mod?
I hope someone will find the time to reply. In the meantime I have solved the back button and the swift keyboard. Both were sorted with the reinstall of the swift keyboard.
I am now hoping that I can install the essential google system apps and avoid having to do a reset. What is the best way to install google services and google play and to thus avoid error messages about them not being available?
I'm using an Samsung XCover 3, which I have rooted (TWRP) recently. I'm using the stock firmware (android ver 5.1.1) on it.
It took my quite a while to get all the apps back with the desired settings after rooting the Phone. Today the Phone really seemed to verry slow, and having some freeze moments once in a while. So I've decited monitoring the system, to see if there were some apps interfering on the background.
Long story short: When I tried to install an app in the play store, the download meter went straight to 100%, but then nothing. The app didn't seemed to get installed, no matter how long I was waiting. So I googled a bit and tried some possible sollutions, but without anny succes.
Things I've tried:
- Clearing cache and data from the Google Play app
- Clearing cache and data from Google Services
- After restart, no progression...
- Deleted the updates from Google Play App
- Deletede updates from Googles Services
- After restart no prgression, and even wasn't able to update Google Services and Google play annymore.
- Resetting app preferences
- After restart no progression...
- Formatting cache and Dalvik in TWRP
- After restart no progression...
- Removed cache and updates from Google app.
- After restart I was able to update Google Services now, but I can't find an option to update Google Play Store.
- After last restart I wasn't able to update or install other apps annymore. So it seems I got back at the starting point here.
Most of the sollutions given above are from google searches, I'm out of ideas now...
I'm hoping that there's somebody who knows how to solve this, I could go back to a factory reset, but I don't want to go through all the hassle of installing and configurating all the apps again.
Thanks in advance!
Hi there guys. i have a problem which i noticed today. i will try to be very specific on what happened etc, so that i may get the best help possible.
I have a xiaomi mi note 10 pro, with miui global rom 11.0.16 running android 9.
i have it rooted (first phone i ever rooted).
i had android auto installed and also android auto enabler (what a great app, got it from xda). alla was working fine more the few months i had my phone.
yesterday i noticed that android auto wouldnt start.
i was getting a message "android auto requires one or more google play services that are not currently available".
This must have happened in the last 3-4 days, because iremember having opened android auto few days ago, and all worked fine.
well, first i tried downgrading android auto, uninstalling, reinstalling it, getting updates from google play and aptoide for google play etc, removing them, deleting cache, deleting settings restarting and all that.
no matter what,i got the same error. one or more google play services is not currently available.
i was really desperate. today, i noticed an app named google services.
i opened it and it says on top "gms installer"
under it, it has 4 names. (google framework, google service, play store, google maps). all have ticks, apart from google framework.
google framework states it is corrupt. i press the button there is to fix it, it starts fixing and it stucks at 94%. doesnt go any further. upon trying to restart, it gets stuck at 0%.
after clearing cache data and restarting phone, it gets again at 94%. i am thinking thatthis framework is the problem. and i cannot do anything to fix this.
searching on the internet, many had this problem with android auto. and many of them had the problem these last few days. any ideas what i could do? at least to install the framework again?
ps. i never uninstalled the framework. or google services, as i have read it is a very bad thing to do.
thank you
