So I just fixed my issue with the phone and texts not working, but I still can't send or receive mms. I have a ns4g on sprint. Stock rooted gwk74, with the kernel Peter Alfonso provided inROM manager.
Have you been able to send/receive MMS earlier?
Do you think your APN settings are correct?
Maybe you can post your APN settings and someone could check if they seem ok.
integrate both your 3g/mms apns into one apn.
and in apn type: default,supl,mms

First off, I am running Melvin's stock rom and the nociq fix posted in the development section.
Everything works flawlessly, I get good data speeds, and I can receive mms, but I am not able to send them. Could either Melvin's rom or the nociq fix have broken this?
I have tried all the APNs I could find in the Skyrocket forum, and with all of them I have the same problem. I'm not currently in an LTE area (Minneapolis, so hopefully soon...) but all of the APN settings I enter give me about the same data speeds and again none of them will recieve mms, however I am able to send them just fine.
Any insight into this would be wonderful! I use mms all the time.

Yes I did, and I just tried it again. Same thing-- using those APN settings, the internet works and sending mms works, but not receiving.
I really don't want to reflash the rom but I am about to...
Hello, I just activated my N5 on ATT. LTE/4G is working well. Calls are fine. However, I cannot send/receive SMS. I've searched the forums for the proper APN settings. I've tried a few. Still no joy. Any ideas on what could be the problem?
TIA!

Can you take it into AT&T or call? Seems like that would be the easiest way to get it fixed. I'm using their GoPhone service and have great LTE and send/receive SMS/MMS through Hangouts.

Really? Can you share your APN settings?

Sure:
APN Name - ATT Phone
APN - phone
Proxy - not set
Port - not set
Username - not set
Password - not set
Server - not set
MMSC - http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy - proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS Port - 80
MCC - 410
Authentication Type - not set
APN type - default,mms,supl,fota
APN Protocol - IPv4
APN Roaming Protocol - IPv4
Bearer - unspecified
MVNO type - none
Hope that helps.
Edited to add that I went into the AT&T store to get the service set up, since I'd never used anything AT&T related before, so this is a brand new SIM on a brand new plan.
Anyone know the correct apn settings needed to get both data and mms working ok the mini running stock att 4.4.2 rom? Ever since I updated it just won't send mms. Any help would be appropriated.
this is what i had before the updat and it worked not no longer
FIELD SETTINGS
NAME STRAIGHT_TALK
APN tfdata
MMSC http://mms-tf.net
MMS PROXY mms3.tracfone.com
MMS PORT 80
MMS_APN tfdata
Straight talk apn settings after KK
I have been having the same issue. Were you ever able to find the correct APN settings to send mms?
As the title states I can no longer send or receive mms on att. The only thing I've done is root the phone. I installed Greenify but have since disabled it to make sure that's not the issue. Also I debloated some stuff but did that way before I rooted and way before the mms issue started. I checked my apn settings and nothing seems out of place. I created a new apn and changed the apn protocol from ipv4/ipv6 to just ipv4 per an older thread I found.
When I reboot the phone, all all of the mms will come through and I'm able to send them as well for just a few minutes and then the problem shows again. It doesn't matter which texting app I use either. Tried stock, Textra and handcent. All unique error messages of course but same issue.
Anyone else? Can't find anything similar.

Did you turn on your data?
Yes, data works fine.
Sent from my LG-H810 using Tapatalk
Are you running AdBlock? If so, it's blocking ads and your MMS pictures on port 80. Switch your APN settings to MMS port 8080, and your MMS should work again. Had the same issue and took me a few hours to figure it out.
My Problem(s)::crying:
SMS messages give an immediate error that they could not be sent. MMS messages say sending for many minutes before finally giving the same error.
Did it ever work?
Yes. I had sent and received SMS messages after flashing. Cannot confirm MMS, becuase I had not used it since flashing my ROM.
What precipitated / brought the problem to the fore?
I was trying to get Sprint voicemail working on my recently flashed phone ([ROM][OFFICIAL][KitKat 4.4.4][moto_msm8960_jbbl] PAC-ROM 4.4.4.RC-2). I tried several apk's for Sprint's Visual Voice. I could not get 5.x or 6.x to work. After following a few dead end threads with those, I installed Google Voice and was trying to use it for my Sprint voicemail. With each of these I uninstalled and rebooted before going on the next try.
I see threads about Google Hangouts causing problems with Sprint SMS /MMS. It is installed, but I am unfamiliar with the App because I have never used it. I think it is only there because Google Voice needs it.
I have used Google Voice on my laptop to call Red Pocket Mobile when I need to troubleshoot my phone. So, before I installed it on my phone I already had it set up in my google account. Not sure how/why that matters, but there is the possibiltiy that some configuration setting in my account is wrong for integrating with my XT897.
Basic Troubleshooting Info:
I can do any of these without a problem on wi-fi or LTE: Google Play Store, Chrome, Firefox, etc. I am also able to make and receive voice calls.
In PAC-ROM:
Settings - Wireless Networks - More... -
Default SMS app is set to Messaging
Voice+:
Setting this to Disabled and rebooting does not fix
Setting this to my Google Voice gmail account does not fix

No, my phone company is Red Pocket Mobile. They are a Sprint MVNO.
Yesterday evening I was out for work. I received an SMS message on my phone. I noticed that my phone was showing 4 bars of signal. I only usually see 1 or 2 at my house. I thought that might be the problem. Unfortunately, I tried sending and got the same errors for SMS and MMS even with 4 bars of signal.
This morning, I installed Network Cell Info Mini in my phone just now using LTE. It shows I have +-100 dBm of signal. Trying to send MMS over the same network still produces the same error.
I also found this thread of similar problems in Sprint's forums.
I would recommend restoring stock, make sure EVERYTHING works that you need to work before flashing any aftermarket ROM.
If it all works on the stock ROM, then you know you have a software configuration issue / limitation.

Sorry it took so long to post a follow-up on this. I finally had time to meticulously do this.
This is what I did that worked:
1. flashed my rooted Jelly Bean stock ROM back on with TWRP
2. after i booted up i updated the PRL then successfully sent and received a txt
3. flashed back my pac-rom
4. after rebooting, successfully sent and received a txt :victory:
