UCLB3 has been released! - Samsung Infuse 4G

According to users on ATT's Samsung forum, UCLB3 is now available via Kies mini. (I haven't tried that myself because I previously installed the leaked UCLB3.)

Anyone know what kernel version comes along with it?

Need to know if it can be rooted as well.

This is what I found.
Now that the Infuse is updated the firmware version is: 2.3.6 with baseband version: I997UCLB3
Kernel 2.6.35.7-I997UCLB3-CL977492
The kernel is different in numbers compared to the UCLB3 leak

Hm, I installed the UCLB3 leak in February, and I'm showing the same kernel version that you report above.

I could be wrong then.

I can confirm.
Edit: I can also confirm that your battery must be fully charged.

Strange. L=2012, B=FEB, 3=3RD WEEK.

I have the same exact versions of the installed leak.
+1 Need to know how it can be rooted! I'd imagine the kernel has to be reflashed - need to know which is the proper one to use.

I also can report that the Kernel is:
Kernel 2.6.35.7-I997UCLB3-CL977492

But I was under the impression we were already using UCLB3 modem since quite some time now. I know this is not a modem but a ROM, but still...

Funny, still have screen lag and the other problem with unlock screen sshowing the previous state it was in before it was locked .. unbelievable

I'll stick with my stock rooted froyo. Lol. For some reason I can never get HDMI to work with the GB releases.

Entropy just released a gb kernel that works with HDMI.

Don't upgrade to this unless you have a solid plan on how to root or install CWM.
None of the methods I've tried are working.
Cannot do Heimdall since I'm a windows desktop. I could install a VM but what a PITA that can be sometimes.

I have heimdall on my windows 7. Is just a Java file

Thanks, I thought it was only Linux. I googled & found the Windows version!

You can also use Odin (ex. Gtg's unbrick)...but yes I used Heimdall today to flash the one click B3 and DD kernel for root and cwm, cake walk...
Also, I unbricked back to froyo from zues to flash the official update; froyo had an immense amount of lag, I flashed official GB and it was surprisingly smooth. I guess I was used ppl's negative opinions of B3

How was qkster one click crappy?
The one click is ment to get the user back to stock or “unbrick“..and or to get a custom rom on the phone....so what you´ve might of said was being on stock was crappy? Qkster like others have put a lot of time and great efforts to share thier work....

Nice, can you provide a link?. And i'm using kj1 which seems somewhat unfinished. I think a November or December release its more realistic. On a plus note there seem to be big changes per release, I don't know what the final one will be like but if they get the bugs out it should make many people happy.

Ah yeah the encryption is a problem. But kj2 is up in development, this user seems to have a connection at Samsung. kj2 is Android 2.3.6! I don't think that has evenmade it to the nexus phones officially! I almost wonder if we might get ics at this rate.

Just flashed with odin, It runs much smoother than the previous update. If you have screen sensitivity issues like I did with the first 2.3 flash you will be happy to know it appears to be equally fast to what it was with stock Froyo.
I've only been running on it for 30 minutes and loving it, only down side is losing the cool live wallpapers that you get with the first Gingerbread update. Anyone know how to get them back?
anyone who flashed this have any issues with screen sensitivity?

[Q] How do i upgrade from Froyo.uckh1 to Catyrom v2.1

kernal version 2.6.32.9
baseband version i997uckk3 upgarded
firmware version 2.2.1
do i need to change kernels or bootloader to do this? been reading for days some say i do and some say i dont would just like a little clarification due to this being my only source of internet if i brick this ill be in trouble. so id like as much info as possible before i jump in head first.
You will first need to root your phone then get 3e recovery, and then clockworkmod(cwm) installed. You will then want to flash GTGs community kernel to get red cwm. The flash GB bootloaders through either Odin or heimdall. Once up and all running, flash catyrom

you don't have to choose infused...use catyrom instead.
or you can also use adam outler's heimdall to get to 2.3, flash the recovery kernel and use red cwm to flash catyrom.

Umm... that's probably because it's meant for froyo bro. If you can still boot into the rom that you were in, add the su fix in the Doctorz rom and then flash it. If not, odin to stock, root FROYO, 3e, gtg community kernel. You know the deal.

If you had really researched it you would have read that SOC won't root the kk3 leak.
The GB roms that you see have been modded or ported.
To root the kk3 leak all you have to do is flash entropy's kernel dated 11/02/11.

I'm sorry, but I'm a total noob with Samsung. I rooted to a particular ROM, but ran into some issues and had to unbrick the phone. Upon doing so, I selected the kk3 leak and then lost root. I used SOC 2.3.3 to try to reroot, but I got stuck at step 7. So I want to try flashing Entropy's kernel as you mentioned. I'm not sure how to do this though. The kernel is in a CWM .zip format, but Odin reads .tar files. Do I unzip the .zip file and then convert to a .tar file? This didn't seem to work when I initially tried it, but perhaps I did something wrong. Any special settings I need to use? Also, do I just need to reboot after I flash it and I will have root? If not, what else must I do?
Sorry again for my lack of understanding. I've been trying to find an answer for hours and have become a little desperate. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Beast kid,
You flashed a froyo kernel over a gb ROM.
What the heck were you trying to do?
If you can't recovery, you have to odin our heimdall back to stock.
I think you might have soft bricked.
Btw gave u a link to samsung kb in your other thread.

Edit..they are already included in the ROM. You should not have to mess with them.

No. You're wifi config is borked.
You can go back to cwm, wipe cache and dalvik. Or data wipe also if the first 2 didn't work.
Or download wifi fix from Market.
Or delete wifi supplicant conf in tbe system/etc/wifi

Actually it depends on what version you use. The Incubus version can be flashed by placing it on your SD card and booting into your custom recovery.
If you do it this way you will not lose root either.
Before you ask the only modification Incubus made was to root & Odex
I have been running the leak since he posted it yesterday morning. I have no issues but as always mileage varies from device to device.
If it really is true that the version in this thread can't be rooted with current methods, then I would stay away from it. You never know when root will be restored so you could be stuck with a locked device for some time.

You kidding? We got the leak this morning. Roms have already been built 12 hours earlier then this thread. Do you think people are really excited about the factory image? People want Roms that they can flash.
