[Q] AsusDayScene.apk - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone gotten this to work on a custom ROM yet?
The apk itself does not contain the wallpapers. It calls for the asus wallpapers already present on your ROM.
I've tried modifying the default launcher of the ROM I am using so that it contains the asus wallpapers in the exact same way as the default launcher of Asus roms but it didn't work.
I am currently looking at the classes.dex converted to jar but I only have a very vague idea of what is going on. All I've done is some light scripting. But I think I can learn to do this.
I am not asking anyone to do this for me, but can someone post some ideas on how to make this app work on non Asus roms?
Here's the apk: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1572174

Stock Rom Live Wallpaper

Excuse me for asking. I recently started to make my own modified rom. I was wondering if it would be possible to have LWP added to a stock rom? The software base is 2.1-update1. I was trying to avoid using a lot of other roms because I don't like certain things on each. Any help? Sorry if i posted in wrong forum.
Just for reference.
After a couple more hours of google I found this:

The 2 Zip Files are what I flashed. And they work great, but are a little slugish.

looking for cyanogen mms.apk

Hey,
I currently have geo's gingerbread on my nexus one, and I want the Mms.apk that's in CM7.
I mainly want to be able to switch to the black background and change the font size. I've looked online and found older mms.apk's but they would just force closed after being installed.
Can anyone help me here and point me in the right direction?
Download a cyanogen rom and extract it

I'm not sure, but I think this is what you are looking for (extracted from a CM rom)
I have extracted and pushed it, but it won't start and not even show in the app launcher. trying to search for it elsewhere.

[Q] Something missing in Clemsyn's ROM?

Hi, first time posting something on xda.
Anyway, I just got my transformer last week and I started trying out a few custom rom's.
I started using Prime rom but I got really bad sod's, so I wanted to try other custom rom's as Revolver or Clemsyn's ROM. However, I'm seeing some problems.
I'm korean and being able to read korean on gmail, gchat, or any other application is pretty important. When i had the stock rom or Prime rom, I was able to see them fine. When i install Clemsyn's ROM or Revolver (which is based on Clemsyn's ROM), i get small boxes where korean letters should appear.
I read that clemsyn removed chinese apks from the rom.. I wonder if that has to do with not being able to read korean? if it is.. is there any way to put'em back in?
I tried Revolver yesterday and it was pretty fast and I liked it a lot, but since I wasn't able to read korean, I went back to Prime 1.5, but just installed clemsyn's kernel. Although, with this set up, I'm able to overclock it and hasn't gotten any sod's....
but still wondering, what is missing?
I'm considering using Clemsyn's ROM and am also a bit concerned about the Chinese apks being removed. If he just removed stuff like alipay and taobao, awesome. But if some asian fonts (or keyboards) have been removed, I would also like to know. I often use Chinese, but have many friends who are Japanese and Korean, so having those fonts is also important.

Whew, thought I was the only one that was concerned about this. I installed Google's Korean Keyboard on Clemsyn's Rom, and keys on the keyboard app was just blank. I am guessing the dev removed the font as well..

Someone else had trouble with Chinese fonts. It may help you find what you need to fix the Korean fonts.
EDIT: It looks like the font files are basic true type font (TTF) files. If you find the missing font files and install them it may fix your problem.

I'm comparing fonts in Clemsyn's Rom and Prime... and I don't really see the difference. Clemsyn's Rom actually have more fonts than Prime Rom.
Maybe I should just go back to the stock.

I'm having the same issue with the latest Revolver 2.0. And the /system/font listing looks about the same as it did with Prime. Is the korean font included in the standard font files? Or maybe I'm looking at the wrong folder.
Ok, here's a quick update. I copied the /system/fonts folder from Prime 1.7 Beta, and it seems to display korean fonts fine. Hope this helps.

[Q] Hammerhead and UOT Kitchen

anybody have any luck with the Hammerhead rom? I've tried making a few battery mods and havehad no luck. I seem to be able to get it done on most other devices. I'm using the framework-rez.apk from the rom.
It keeps throwing up errors in the pickup section and fails to cook, any ideas?
I am fixing to give it a shot.... never tried anything like this so we will see
Well good luck, it's very cool I've used on 3 phones and my xoom on my previous rom. I'm just pulling my hair out with this Hammerhead ROM, can't seem to get any UOT love.
same problem... posted a similar question in the rom thread, haven't had anyone declare success so assume there is something in the framework uot doesn't like
I dont think its compatible with anything higher than gingerbread... I thought about trying it too lol
Sent from my Evo3D
I've used it on other Honeycomb roms, well at least the battery icon.
worked fine on honeycomb 3.2 with the manta ray rom and katana kernel... something changed in either hammerhead or tachi
Anybody made any progress here or have any luck?

nah I just been using the framework from the 2.01 with no issues on my Xoom or UOT kitchen
Most likely the kitchen doesn't support the android 3.2 framework yet.
If you really want to change your battery icons etc, you will need to use the modified apktool that lowtraxx released.
In no way did we intend to break support with UOT kitchen. You will find that the stock 3.2 fw-res won't work with it either.

stock asus apps?

I recently installed TeamEOS nightly rom #9, i came from stock rooted ics, before flashing the EOS rom i backed up my apps using asus app backup tool (which has worked fine in the past, however the EOS rom did not have the stock asus app backup app, so i cannot restore the stock apps and data.
anyways, does anyone have or knows where i can find stock asus apps? more specifically the app backup app?
thanks in advance!
No Asus app can work on AOSP rom as I recently found out myself. Seems they need some proprietary libs that come with asus roms.
That is not true as some do work while others need the lib files or otehr apps. I believe someone put together a package wthin the first ten pages of the eos thread.
Apps I tried:
MyLibrary - does not work
MyNet - does not work
MyCloud - does not work
Supernote - works
Asus Weather - does not work
Asus keyboard - works
AppBackup - does not work
Can't remember the rest, tried a couple of days ago on Team EOS nightly 7.
Actually, Asus Weather does work for me. But it's one of the few that do...
Yeah I'm using ASUS Weather and a live wallpaper, MyWater2.
Polaris and Supernote work also.
Well that sucks, but good to know
What about Widgets? I'm missing the date widget and the prime battery widget bad. I wish we could incorporate those and the Asus sound set on aosp

The attached Asus date widget is working on TeamEOS.
File manager
The stock Asus File Manager is one of the best I have ever used. I wish I could get it back. Anybody have ideas on what framework pieces are necessary to install it? I restored via Titanium backup, but no-go.
Can anyone share the asus file manager apk?
here is the zip created by gnufabio: http://goo-inside.me/apps/gnufabio/Revolver/Revolver4_RemovedApps.zip
All you do is either flash the zip in recovery to get all the apps or using winrar remove certain apps and then flash the zip.
Hope it helps

Thanks mate but the file manager apk is not in it.
I think that's the older one from HC
Try extracting the file manager from any stock ROM based on ASUS.

I have the apk and I can send it to you if you want but it doesn't work on non-Asus ROMs. I took a brief look at it and it seems you will have to make changes to framework.jar of the ROM you are using.
If you extract File manager from stock rom,it will not work in CM9. I hope someone will make the port, because its the best manager since ICS.
Yeah, I just tried doing that and it doesn't work. True, it's the best file manager (for doing simple every day stuff). All the other ones in the market seem to try too hard instead of just being good at one thing.
I would like the ASUS Time widget aka Date widget. Let's see if it works
I'm running Android Revolution 3.4.1 and would greatly appreciate if someone could share the stock Asus App Backup APK. I used it to backup all my app data (saved games, etc) prior to rooting and haven't been able to find it anywhere.
I would also be happy to extract it from a stock blob if someone can give instructions.
Next time, I'll use Titanium Backup
