I recently installed TeamEOS nightly rom #9, i came from stock rooted ics, before flashing the EOS rom i backed up my apps using asus app backup tool (which has worked fine in the past, however the EOS rom did not have the stock asus app backup app, so i cannot restore the stock apps and data.
anyways, does anyone have or knows where i can find stock asus apps? more specifically the app backup app?
thanks in advance!
No Asus app can work on AOSP rom as I recently found out myself. Seems they need some proprietary libs that come with asus roms.
That is not true as some do work while others need the lib files or otehr apps. I believe someone put together a package wthin the first ten pages of the eos thread.
Apps I tried:
MyLibrary - does not work
MyNet - does not work
MyCloud - does not work
Supernote - works
Asus Weather - does not work
Asus keyboard - works
AppBackup - does not work
Can't remember the rest, tried a couple of days ago on Team EOS nightly 7.
Actually, Asus Weather does work for me. But it's one of the few that do...
Yeah I'm using ASUS Weather and a live wallpaper, MyWater2.
Polaris and Supernote work also.
Well that sucks, but good to know
What about Widgets? I'm missing the date widget and the prime battery widget bad. I wish we could incorporate those and the Asus sound set on aosp

The attached Asus date widget is working on TeamEOS.
File manager
The stock Asus File Manager is one of the best I have ever used. I wish I could get it back. Anybody have ideas on what framework pieces are necessary to install it? I restored via Titanium backup, but no-go.
Can anyone share the asus file manager apk?
here is the zip created by gnufabio: http://goo-inside.me/apps/gnufabio/Revolver/Revolver4_RemovedApps.zip
All you do is either flash the zip in recovery to get all the apps or using winrar remove certain apps and then flash the zip.
Hope it helps

Thanks mate but the file manager apk is not in it.
I think that's the older one from HC
Try extracting the file manager from any stock ROM based on ASUS.

I have the apk and I can send it to you if you want but it doesn't work on non-Asus ROMs. I took a brief look at it and it seems you will have to make changes to framework.jar of the ROM you are using.
If you extract File manager from stock rom,it will not work in CM9. I hope someone will make the port, because its the best manager since ICS.
Yeah, I just tried doing that and it doesn't work. True, it's the best file manager (for doing simple every day stuff). All the other ones in the market seem to try too hard instead of just being good at one thing.
I would like the ASUS Time widget aka Date widget. Let's see if it works
I'm running Android Revolution 3.4.1 and would greatly appreciate if someone could share the stock Asus App Backup APK. I used it to backup all my app data (saved games, etc) prior to rooting and haven't been able to find it anywhere.
I would also be happy to extract it from a stock blob if someone can give instructions.
Next time, I'll use Titanium Backup

Flash attached zip in recovery to gain working Netflix. Requires latest version of the Netflix app. Only tested on Honeycomb 3.1 (Prime 1.5). I can't swear this won't cause unforeseen problems....use at your own peril.
Note: The original file is renamed to .bak just in case!
Latest Netflix is 1.3 build 246
APK: http://www.multiupload.com/XTEWL8CLCZ
Technical details:
Stole libnvomx.so from a Xoom 3.1 ROM and pushed to /system/lib/ on my Transformer. Duh.
If you prefer, you can manually place the file using Root Explorer or another file manager.
Like your Netflix with some auto-rotation in the mornings? The color red make you angry? Well, Dblfstr has just the app for you!

**realized this was a stupid question after asking my mistake
YES, it works! AWESOME. You rock bro.
Edit- Oh yeah, I am on Prime 1.6 with clemsyn's latest kernel.
also confirmed working here on Prime 1.5 w/ clemsyn's version 17.
Pop's Ipad2 just lost the last advantage it had over my Transformer, thanks! :

Does anyone notice that the sync is out for the audio?
Nevertheless, working here on stock rooted 8.4.4.5
thanks!
Do I need a different app for Canada? Loads just fine, I can select movies and see my list but when I try to play anything it says I can't use it from my area. Ideas?

I just noticed it doing it on my dell streak 7 (his same patch worked for that too!)
but in all fairness my tablet was syncing data (just factory reset it so it's downloading tons of ****) I thought it was that causing it. I will check on my TF to see if it's out of sync as well
edit: sound is synced fine on my TF.
Not meaning to sound ungrateful, but Microsoft Security Essential keeps blocking this download as a known unsafe file?
Hahaha hell yeah... Unsafe? Who cares? Thanks man!

Just to clarify; the audio was not synced while using "Pure root 8.4.4.5" but is synced using Prime 1.5.
Hi guys,
I just flashed my first custom rom on my tf101 (JB from team EOS, yay) but found most of the cool apps from asus were gone. I was using mylibrary, mynet, and the note app quite often. I was wondering where I can find those apps, and how to install them. I assume once you have the apk its fairly easy, but I just want to be sure.
Thanks

Also, Polaris office? Can anyone post an apk or a CWM flashable zip that works for JB? I'm not able to ask this on the ROM thread as I don;t have enough posts.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi all Just joinned up and also just got myself a Asus infinity TF700T
So far I have charged it done firmware update and rooted it.
I would like to know what is the best / stable rom out at moment. Also overclocking options.
Thanks
A good stock option is CleanROM 2.3,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919851
however if you're looking for an AOSP rom I'd go with the CM10 Nightlies
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957660
There are overclocking options for both courtesy of Clemsyn's overclocked kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1950039
Personally I'm on CM10 and I'm waiting for a modified Clemsyn kernel since I'm also using the Data2SD mod.
Yeh was thinking about CM10. I had CM on my acer a500 and have it on my cellphone and find it nice and easy to use.

Are you unlocked? You need to unlock, then you could fastboot flash either TWRP or CWM recovery. I like TWRP and I'm on CleanROMv2.3 and Clemsyn's OC kernel v22. Performance is fantastic and everything works. The CM ROMs all have something not working 100% yet, from what I can see, but it's really whatever you're more comfortable with. CleanROM is pre-rooted so all you would have to do is get your custom recovery. Please DO NOT USE Rom Manager to install CWM recovery (I would avoid it altogether). Several experienced users have hard bricked (no coming back) their devices that way.
Yeh got it sorted and not unlocked.
Removed SD card and put just the ICS firmware off asus page on it. Tablet is on and jelly bean running I put SD card in and couple of seconds later a popup comes up to do a update / downgrade. So I run it and restarts and now running ICS again. Seen the firmware update popup so did not click it. Then install Root OTA Keeper then update to JB. Now have rooted JB with superuser and checked with root checker.
As long as you are locked you are already on the best rom available to you.
yeh not to worried about updating to custom ROM. just going to install a launcher and cleaning out some of the stock apps.
What launcher would you recommend?
GO Launcher HD for Pad or GO Launcher EX or other?

I think the best is Go Launcher HD for Pad, other may favorate Nova, Apex etc... and Go Launcer EX is a full blown mature launcher for Phone only. I believe soon Go Launcher HD will have the same features as Go Launcher EX.(this one is the best with thousand of plugin and themes).
i would stay @ stock launcher it s the most reliable one or trebuchet launcher
Hi okantomi
Have gone and done what you posted.
TWRP and CleanROMv2.3 and about to do Clemsyn's OC kernel
I am currently running CROMi-X odexed 4.6.4 on a tf700t. I've gone back and forth between the last few versions of CROMi-X (I've tried both odexed and deodexed, as well as WW and Us, every single kernel for CROMi-X, and nearly every combination thereof), Pa and Bb8. PS Touch works perfect on Pa and BB; however, no matter which CROMi-X I try, whenever I try and open up the font selection menu in the text tool, it immediately crashes. Everything else works fine. I've even tried the last 3 versions of PS Touch as well, with no luck.
Does PS Touch do this for anyone else on CROMi-X? Any ideas?
I love this rom, but PS Touch not working is a deal breaker
Thanks.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using XDA Premium HD app
Update: CROMi-X seems to be the only rom with a folder called "AdobeFonts" in the fonts folder (it's in the actual zip) . I disabled all the folders permissions, and PS Touch no longer crashes on the font select menu. It now crashes when you actually press the button to add the text.
Does anyone happen to know what the fonts in the adobefonts folder are for? Cromix is the only rom with that folder included.

Q&A for [APPS] [ASUS Apps] [ CROMBi-kk& ZOMBi-kk] [October 7]

I installed most of choices the 1.9.4 version on my tab running CROMBi-KK R1P2 including the Asus wallpapers, however when I go to select a wallpaper, the only choice that shows are the CM wallpapers. Where can I find the Asus wallpapers I just installed?
Thanks!

Kansasboy, just wanted to say I installed Crombi-KK over my Zombi-X (which I like a bit better) because your version 2 apps work so well in Crombi and seem more developed. The calendar is still busted, of course... (hint hint). Hehehehe.

Using Zombi-X, I only want two of the asus apps (email and weather specifically) and was curious if those alone might actually work with the B9 build or should I just go ahead and wait for 2.1?
Thanks in advance and thanks for making the asus apps available outside their stock rom.

Email will work, weather will not. My internet was don't from the snow last weekend so I was unable to upload, will get 2.1 does next weekend.
Yeah absolutely no complaints here. I know plenty of stuff can get in the way. Actually I'm just glad to hear about the email. I know there's plenty of email apps out there but I've always really enjoyed asus' version. And the weather isn't a big deal at all, i can definitely wait for that one. Thanks for the quick reply.
Please post all problems in the main thread. I do not like xda forcing us to have Q&A threads.

You mean I Need to boot into recovery, do a wipe, reinstall Crombi-KK and then install the ASUS 2.1 apps?

Only off you want to remove Asus apps, unless you know how to remove the apks with a root browser. Asus apps 3.0 is in the works. Stay tuned.

Awesome, thank you very much. I really appreciate your hard work.
I noticed that the Camera app doesn't look like what used to be on my pre-Crombi-KK install. So I'm not sure if the "stock" ASUS tablet had the ASUS camera or the Google Camera.
I did purposely choose ASUS Camera when installing 2.1 Apps. Assuming it's the ASUS camera and not the Google one (how does one tell?), is there a way to revert back to the Google one? I apologize if the camera app is just how things are in Crombi-KK vs. JB 4.2.1 (I think that's what was on before I Crombi'd it).
I just kinda like the "zoom" and ability to switch back and forth between the video recorder/camera vs. what's on the tablet now.
