Sorry for the way I posted the link; new member. *Technically.*
Apparently somebody is offering a reward for Android on the Vita. o.o
I personally don't understand why nobody's done it yet...
It's a relatively inexpensive device, compared to the $500 Android phones that are out of contract, and it's more powerful to boot anyway.
I'd figure developers would love to turn the 3G model into a phone.

I said the same thing.
For one, I don't understand why it doesn't have Android pre-installed since, you know, the Xperia Play does. *-.-* Doesn't Sony realize it would only help them?
and for two, like I already said, I don't understand why the developers haven't even squeaked about it. o_o

Ipad Android Development

Android has been ported over to many Apple Iphones recently and I have yet to see a working build for the Apple Ipad. Are there currently any efforts going on to get Android working on the Ipad?
If u say many u mean devices before the 3GS.... These are many? When u want android why not buy a tablet with android!?

I actually just purchased the new android tablet from Kmart. Are you trying to make a point or attempting to be a douchebag?
AFAIK, Android on the iPhone is still in early stages, there are still some things that don't work.
I guess the people behind the project might take a look at the iPad after they are done with porting android to the iPhone.
Just my 2 cents
BTW, how is that tablet feel?? I read the preview on Engadget, it seems like a good deal for the price you pay.
Actually my grandfather offered to buy me an iPad while he is in Florida, I accepted, for the lulz mostly.
But if I can put android on it, that'd be awesome
Any updates on this? Any guys from XDA looking to start a project? Would be great if this would happen, as then I would not have to choose between iPad 2 or Android Cheers!

Time to 1-star the AR.Drone!

Hey guys,
Parrot cancelled their android app for the AR.Drone after demoing a fully functional app earlier this year. Now you have to have an iphone/ipod touch to use it. We need to give this thing as many 1-star reviews as we can for cancelling the plans!

So the right thing to do is to throw a temper tantrum like a 4 year old and 1-star review their product because they won't be releasing an android app?
Let me ask you a simple question, did you like using their product before you heard about a possible android app? If so, what's changed?
Finally, I still believe my first post says it all; just develop you own app for it and be merry.

Maybe he bought it SOLELY because it supported Android. Obviously he liked the toy itself, but he absolutely would not have purchased without Android support.
With all of the movement towards Android, odd they'd pull out.
It is not that odd, considering that Google failed the implementation of ad-hoc networking in their latest Android release which is the basic prerequisite to connect to the drone. You will not actess a mainstream market if people need to root their phones first and fiddle around in the systems to enable ad-hoc networking with some weird hacking tools.
From a company perspective this was just the only logical step.
Why do we even care? Like am I missing something awesome about this? Its a little floating plane type toy thats $300 and runs off a phone? To be it seems dumb i could go get one from walmart for $30 and just suck it up and use a controller

Samsung hires Steve Kondik aka Cyanogen

http://www.businessinsider.com/samsung-steve-kondik-2011-8
Wow....very interesting. What will this mean for our phones? Only good things I hope!

Leverage is what this hire was about in my opinion.
Android os after all is a linux based os. Open source. Samsung has a significant market share in the world of Android phones and tablets and will work to protect that share.
Just my thoughts...

Given Samsungs previous support of Cyanogen this is probably good news. Since he announced that Cyanogen will remain a side project of his it means we won't see it by default on Samsung phones but it will mean that their phones will probably edge closer to something resembling Cyanogen and be great for those that never switch to community created roms.
With Google buying Motorola, Samsung knows they need to step up their game to compete against Googorola phones in the future, this will be part of that process.

No one could pay me enough to move back to Jersey.
I grew up there - never want to move back.
Speaking with my friend at Samsung he says they are super excited about the level of creatovity and out of the box thinking this will bring to the table. more end user stuff considered rather than plain point a to b successful operation

The past few days have been pretty exciting.
Whatever reasons are being announced, for Samsungs hiring of Mr. Cyanogen, intimidating Google has to be a big one. Especially being that it is only 11 months since Google tried to shut down Cyanogen (http://bit.ly/obp8sD).
Also, everyone is now talking about Amazon's killer Android tablet (http://bit.ly/mUS5O0). I think all rumors but Amazon's Kindle shows they can do tablets, Amazon doesn't have the "just for nerds" label that scares some Android and maybe even iPad users away, and if Amazon sells the tablet for $250, a $50 loss for each tablet they sell, Amazon will become one of the biggest Android players.
Google's purchase of Motorola Mobile has been classified by some as a patent battle but others (http://bit.ly/mUS5O0) think there is more to it.
And Apple and Nokia seem to be joining in the patent battle (http://bit.ly/n2q0Oe).
Leverage may just be your thoughts CD, but I think they're on target. Though I agree with your concept, I'm pretty certain I don't have a clue about the details. The big boys are playing hardball and all I can do is watch.

Football Manager Handheld 2012 Android is here !!

For all you footy manager mad people like me, its coming weds 11th april
http://www.sigames.com/news/14114/Football+Manager+Handheld+makes+Android+debut
i used to spend millions of hours a day on my pc, i dont own one anymore, so now i can do the same on my phone and tablet,
oh short summary, it'll cost 6.99 pounds, run 12 leagues, 2 modes, normal mode and challenge mode, i so cant wait lol
update: it will run on 2 resolutions 480x320 and 800x480, wont work below these, and anything bigger will have a black skin around it, thats just to begin with, eventually more res will be supported.
Isn't it kind of late in the season? I wonder how they will update it. Still, great catch. This could suck many hours from my tablet.
this is truly excellent news for myself, working full time and having a family i no longer have the time to play FM/CM as i used to when i was younger
day 1 purchase i just hope they dont release FM 2013 in 3-6 months time
Im a member on the si games forum, marc vaughan created it for ios, he says it will be like 2001 but hellvof alot faster than pc, so cool

I'm from Altrincham
Why is it dear to your heart?
A fellowtownwoman of yours is a very staunch supporter of the team... And an ex-girlfriend of mine. She used to play Football Manager often as well, so every time I think of that, I remember our story.
Having a change of heart now. Im going to be either southhampton or reading- both teams performing fantastically in the championship.
Firstly reading I've been to their stadium to watch them against Cambridge utd in what is now league one (11 years ago)
Second southhampton have only just been promoted and look likely as over achievers! Both good tho nonetheless.
Lets see! We should have a FM progress/stories thread, what do ppl think?

Cool. Tho I think change the title of the thread to Football Manager =p I was thinking FM radio
Ill check this out when it launches.
Sorry bout that, i forgot not everyone will think of footy manager doh, edit on the way, not long now, soooo cant wait lol

£6.99 - SI really are in love with themselves, aren't they?
Their pathetic stance on the issue of piracy for example (amongst others), means I dislike them to the core.
Their forum is an absolute joke too, run by mini Hitlers that love to brown nose their SI gods.
Can't stand them.
i am actually happy to pay, as for their stance, do you blame them? i def agree on the last part tho, very true, although u dont need to use the si forum, there is fmhvibe aswell, tho im not a member.
Care to enlighten us?
Who me? If so what part?

Why doesn't Google buy a cell phone company?

Ex. Verizon, AT&T...
only thing I can possibly think of is for some reason they'd get into legal trouble because they create the os that most phones in the US run on.

i think it would fall into the place of what happened when goggle bought Motorola, Everyone (Samsung HTC etc..) thought since they were bought by Google that they were the "Favorite" and Samsung started to make android less android, (good example would be the Samsung galaxy notePRO 12.1) in response Google knew they screwed up and sold Motorola to Lenovo. i think this sorta thing would happen and instead of manufacturing android phones, others would try to get like Bada OS and Firefox OS phones.
Personally, I think Google did not screw up when it bought Motorola. What they are really after is Motorola's "Project Ara," that involves the development of Modular Smartphones, which is seen by many as the future of smartphones. All other assets of Motorola did not interest Google and they sold it to Lenovo, but retained only Project Ara.

I don't think they screwed up either, I think they screwed up with selling Motorola though. Honestly Motorola phones where pretty ugly and Google changed them quite a bit. The moto g was heir most successful/most sold phone they have ever had I wish they could have played around with them some more before selling them to lenovo Motorola was having a bad time and Google just gave them a boost I guess, So nice of them.
