pretty cool

If I try this with Merruk's Kernel. Should I flash this first as the Kernel removes the stock recovery? And will it work?
you tell us, bro ...
This is what I do:
I have STOCK DXLA1 and I flash Chobits ROM v1 and v1.2 via stock recovery.
Then I extract system to SD card, flash Merruk's Kernel via ODIN and install the Ext4.zip(This was the instruction in Merruk's Kernel)
I got Superuser error. I try installing busybox 1.19.4 but SU keeps on denying busybox.
because of the compression issue latest merruk gave me su issue , too
Are there ways to fix that?
that is going to be fixed soon, no doubt

reinstall stock kernel...then flash a new rom. we should take note that both merruk and vivek kernel are still underdevelopment stage. its not 100% work. we should understand take care all responsibility if we use them.

enter recovery mode, wipe /data. I hope he has made a backup of his contact since this method will erase all of his data and contact stored in the phone.
GREAT!
the gate crasher ROM has finally been moved
congrats OP

You'll just need to do a wipe data .. just boot in stock recovery then re-install.
NOTE : First boot animation will take some time.. cheers~
Flashed this ROM no problems all looking good, reboot into STOCK recovery and apply the 1.2 update zip in STOCK recovery and reboot, now my touch screen doesn't respond to any touches.
Even when I hold the power button for the shut down menu to come up, it doesn't register my touches on that menu either, so the only way to turn off my phone it pulling the battery.
reflashing the original ROM fixes the touch screen, but updating breaks this.
whats causing this thanks
cool rom.. but swype doesn't work after update.. I have removed it..
fix soon....
awesome rom like i said a very potential rom..i expect alot from it in future updates
flashed both v1 and 1.2 ,,,no problem whatsoever
everything works well and good..no bugs found yet

try flashing v1.2 zip through CWM..... i did it and i didint face any problem
-
I tried flashing through CWM, STOCK using various combinations, but the touch screen doesn't respond on the update..
I tried flashing 1.0 through stock and 1.2 through stock - frozen touch
both through cwm - frozen touch
one through cwm and one through stock - frozen touch..
I don't understand why I'm getting this problem, I've heard of bootloops and things but never frozen touchscreen, I know the screen still works because I can turn it on and off using the power button and holding the powerbutton brings up that phone menu (which I can't touch)..

Two questions that'll help this move forward:
Have you wiped data / factory reset before installing?
Can you pull a logcat?
Doing a backup of my stock rom now, then i'll fire it up and see if I can pull a logcat for you.
---------- Post added at 09:46 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:25 AM ----------
Ok unfortunately the phone boot loops too fast. Literally the Samsung logo pops up for about 1 second then it restarts. adb never picks the device up so I can't pull a logcat. This was after a factory data/cache reset. Once I restored the stock rom logcat worked fine so my adb setup on this machine appears to be correct. I got time to mess with anything this weekend so if you got anything else to try let me know, i'll be able to test it for you.

Bingo! That booted. It did lock up on me when setting up my google account but i'll restart the process and logcat the whole thing for you.
Ok so heres what I got. First logcat in the zip is right after install and flashing k0nane's kernel. Then it hotbooted on me before I could really do anything. Second logcat is after it boots up, I enter my google account info and it then says "Communicating with google servers blah blah." After a minute or so of that it hotboots again. If I try again the same thing will keep happening.
Hope that helps you.
Okay I got a Google services framework error. Easy fix. Thank you very much for the log and help.

Expect great things, folks!
Wow glad the blaze community is coming out the woodwork for you... Seems like I gotta stop being the lurker I normally am.
Ok this time, it appears kernel boots... BUUUUT. Nothing after that. Logcat only shows the following.
- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -
That should help lol, pretty clear error it seems. Screen obviously just goes blank after kernel boot and it the error is dumped. Then the phone does nothing.
downloaded and flashed..the phone doesn't boot at all. just shows the samsung galaxy s boot animation and then black.
is this some generic rom cooked up in some kitchen? or is this a real dev rom?
I have the HTC one s T-mobile USA version and my OTA update fails everytime. I do not have a ROM installed but I am rooted because I wanted to use a wifi hot spot app. the phone restarts and shows failed on the CW recovery screen at the bottom. It states it cannot mount the SD card? anyone else have this issue? Any one know a way to push the update through? This is the 58.31mb optimisation update...Thanks!

You will need the stock recovery for the Ota to work.
I got that too. The update wasn't supposed to fix much. I remember for the Nexus One, developers used to repackage the updates as flashable zips, and I'm surprised that nobody did that.
Ok that makes sense, I have done some searching and can not find where to get the stock recovery, do you know a thread that has one posted? Thanks
What exactly does it fix ? Or where can i find a log or more info on it ??

The 2nd link is the stock recovery.
The OTA update will also fail to install if /system/build.prop has been modified. If so, just restore the original and try again.

Did you delete any of the system apps?
Some have reported they got the update after going back to stock recovery and performing a factory reset of the device.

Yes sir, tried that as well... now with the stock recovery is looks as though its going to install the update (when booting into recovery) but then a exclamation point appears with the device in the background. When i jump back to the option that are listed in the stock recovery it tells me that it was unable to mount the SD card and every option that i select just reboots the device.
I would just try to install a stock debloated ROM from the dev section, they'll be updated to the newest firmware anyway plus you'll get rid of all the boat.

You would have to be on ics since it uses the 3.0.8 kernel. Since bootmenu has the ability to dual boot, you could always try flashing it on second system. If it doesn't work you'll still have your first system to fall back on.

ok now so i was able to get recovery working and restore back to my backup if anyone else that installed this has any problems download whirleys bootmenu from his forum http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720351
and get some something like root explorer or something similar
-Open Root Explorer
-Go to the System folder
-Go to the Bin folder
-Tap the button in the upper right corner to mount RW (This lets you edit files in there)
-Scroll down and find the file called hijack, long press and delete it.
-Scroll down to the file named logwrapper, longpress and delete it.
-Directly underneath that is a file named logwrapper.bin, long press and RENAME it to just logwrapper (so take off the .bin at the end)
-Tap the button in the upper right to mount as RO again
i would still hold off from installing this rom but if any one is having trouble getting bootmenu to come back and work this is the way to do it
I have a couple of questions.
1. How big is this rom/system.
I was wondering about using Google now. It the past i remember miui being pretty small.
2. Who the hell are these guys? He/they found a me865 leak before us, tries to port miui and failed then asked for the mb865 leak in a new thread( and was flamed and called "we todd did" or retarded). Then comes back three weeks later with a working miui.
3. He and [email protected] seem to have access to a Chinese forum/"technicians" (to quote sky) i don't. What and who is it?

I would hold of from flashing this but it seems they posted 2 miui roms the top one is like 200mb that is like double than a regular miui and the bottom one is like 190mb and is a little different from the top
EDIT.... Cleared out due to this post not being needed anymore.
Tip: if /system of this ROM doesn't include bootmenu. Use the system keeper option in Bootmenu BEFORE rebooting. Select install hijack. If it doesn't work. Restore a backup (hopefully you had one) all before rebooting.
Or use method above to install bootmenu again if you really want to use this ROM badly. But if you bootloop your stuck and will have to FXZ. Better safe than sorry.

At least you have a working screen shot
Many new devices do not support fb2png sadly
So, I consider it good
Sudden reboot? Is this a syndrome affecting your phone? Maybe kernel related
I can try to repack around a stock kernel if someone uploads a recent stock recovery.img

- reboot recovery via 3bc and reboot recovery again
- use adb reboot recovery

Problem happens with CWM versions above 5.5.0.4.
Also with twrp above 2.2.1.
Many have tried to fix this but did not succeed i guess.
Stock kernel? The one from stock sammy rom 2.3.6?

Whoops.. Sorry...
Here:
tested . nice
some tips/notes/bugs :
1- a delay ( 2-3 sec sleep ) while reading about menu could be good since it closes log window as soon as printing about finishes ( 0.1 sec or less )
2- reverting to stock background from a soild background not working ( seems that originial background has been removed from /res !)
3- lib/modules/dhd.ko not needed . could free ~400-500 Kb on ramdisk
4- about fb2png , would'nt be better if you use bmp-565 ? it seems a unsupported framebuffer problem , you should use rgbx-8888 and default functions from graphics.c to fix this
5- background png does not have good quality . a more simple one could be better
thanks for you effort
all the best

can u try onscreen navigation a moment??
just want verify either if flashing problem. .
First, thanks for a great rom!! After flashing latest 5/23 version I am very un-happy with the new version of "gallery apk". I was about to just pull the older version out of the 4/23 rom and put it in this version.......but, while researching have found that system apps are handled very differently in LP than KK. Also, after much reading/searching have not found a good guide for doing this. Can someone that knows, provide a step by step for this procedure please. Also sorry this is kinda-sorta OT.

I have same problems with the onscreen navigation buttons
And by the look of it this ROM is dead in the water
Not dead by what I can tell its just running good minus a few bugs, so there is nothing to talk about,
I have the navbar fix so a update will be out soon.

Appreciate your work ,I like your ROM ,I like to point out that the Google Now "OK Google" feature from any screen will not detect any audio when trying to training the app. Can u look in to it as is a feature I do really use a lot I'm sure as many others ,thanx
