Hello there, Mr. Starsky! Stop by IRC some time.
im excited for this rom
Thanks for working on this and for listening! Since you rooted this thing, I've felt neglected...first by tmo and then by those folks enjoying their new modem.
Looking forward to testing. Closer to ics, the better.
Thanks again.

Two questions that'll help this move forward:
Have you wiped data / factory reset before installing?
Can you pull a logcat?
Doing a backup of my stock rom now, then i'll fire it up and see if I can pull a logcat for you.
---------- Post added at 09:46 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:25 AM ----------
Ok unfortunately the phone boot loops too fast. Literally the Samsung logo pops up for about 1 second then it restarts. adb never picks the device up so I can't pull a logcat. This was after a factory data/cache reset. Once I restored the stock rom logcat worked fine so my adb setup on this machine appears to be correct. I got time to mess with anything this weekend so if you got anything else to try let me know, i'll be able to test it for you.

Thank you. I'll rework this then. Try flashing this then k0nanes kernel right afterwards. If that boots then I made a kernel booboo

Bingo! That booted. It did lock up on me when setting up my google account but i'll restart the process and logcat the whole thing for you.
Ok so heres what I got. First logcat in the zip is right after install and flashing k0nane's kernel. Then it hotbooted on me before I could really do anything. Second logcat is after it boots up, I enter my google account info and it then says "Communicating with google servers blah blah." After a minute or so of that it hotboots again. If I try again the same thing will keep happening.
Hope that helps you.
Okay I got a Google services framework error. Easy fix. Thank you very much for the log and help.

Expect great things, folks!
Wow glad the blaze community is coming out the woodwork for you... Seems like I gotta stop being the lurker I normally am.
Ok this time, it appears kernel boots... BUUUUT. Nothing after that. Logcat only shows the following.
- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -
That should help lol, pretty clear error it seems. Screen obviously just goes blank after kernel boot and it the error is dumped. Then the phone does nothing.
downloaded and flashed..the phone doesn't boot at all. just shows the samsung galaxy s boot animation and then black.
is this some generic rom cooked up in some kitchen? or is this a real dev rom?

I don't have a Continuum, so this is untested, but it hopefully works It will give you the option to restart your phone, reboot into recovery, or reboot to download mode. This requires a deodexed system and CWM recovery, and the ROM from Adrynalyne would probably be a good start since that's where I pulled the files from. Your menu that comes up when you press/hold the power button will look similar to this:
{

This would be so cool/useful!
I tried it, but it didn't work :| I am on the deodoxed rom that adry sent out... It just freezes at the boot screen (even though i can hear the boot sounds)
hmphh... i hope we can get this working, that would be sweettt!
Here is the how-to on what needs done. Maybe someone else will have more luck.
ah, okay.. thanks for posting that log... i tried doing it.. got fustrated.. and gave up oh well, haha.. hopefully someone gets it working
Been working on it since yesterday.

how is it coming along for you?
I just made an edit to this to try and get it to work. Seems that I forgot to include some necessary files the first time around So, hopefully this one works. You need to be on the cleaned up ROM from Adryn to test it, but I'd appreciate someone testing it out to see if it works. If it does, I could also create the reboot options for DJ20 as well then.
i can confirm that this one works!!!
thank you so much! i love it!!
I'll try to get one setup for DJ20 then tonight or early next week.
Works for me! Thanks man this is awesome. Im on DL17 rom Adryn put out.
How do we flash a cwm recovery for the Continuum? I only know how via Rom Manager...
Sent from my SCH-I400 using XDA App
What I mean is, we don't have a cwm image listed for the continuum in the list of selectable devices in Rom Manager. Is there one that just hasn't been submitted? Or is there an update.zip we can boot to? Or do I need to figure out Odin?

Look in the Development forum.
Meh..
Something is definitely off with the package... You can't just apply this patch right after applying the DL17 clean.. You need to boot into a fresh DL17 install, go through setting wizard, then reboot and install this..
Even then, there seems to be a couple bugs :| One big one is that i can't change any settings anymore (in any of the Settings menus). Also, the font looks... different in pop up messages and in other places.. I don't necessarily not like it, but that might explain what is going on with the FC's in setup wizard and settings...
EDIT: There is also a weird bug with the volume... When i try changing it, the location of the normal progress bar now has a weird circle graphic that definitely doesn't belong....Booting into Download mode also doesn't work for some reason, but honestly that option isn't important
Maybe this was made from DJ20, and i am on DL17? idk.. I thought it was made from DL17, but i may be mistaken..
If you need any more info, ill be on the IRC all day lol
I really hope we can get this working perfectly, that would be amazing
Thanks again for your time and effort

Update:
FC's fixed, themed, speed tweaks to frameworks, prepped for bootanimations.
It will boot to a black screen, dont worry, its because I removed the QMG files. Once we have a working kernel, it will play the bootanimation I have installed.
So, this is the SGS4G OTA Build that Raver put together + extras.
Has the Bat Mod + CRT On/Off Animations by error666

And chance you would consider including bhundven's KJ6 kernel in the next release?
I think that's his plan as he states in the OP he had prepped it for boot animations once we have a working kernel. At least in a future release, or one could just flash the kernel.

Maybe an answer from Krylon to see what he removed.
The phone has it but its inactive. There are files that have iq in their names in the root of your phone thoae are your culprits. An example would be one under /system/xbin
Great Post Krylon!
disregard please

Almost there. I'm at a stopping point right now, but RaverX3X and I were working on this earlier. with a bootanimation binary he gave me I was able to get bootanimation to work, but it didn't die after android was done booting.
I had to manually kill the pid.

Well, for us that are not ready to use the 2.3.6 GB build, and still want to remove Carrier IQ from our phones, I will write a Guide for all to enjoy and remove from their current ROMs. I am currently testing it, but am having grave errors when I recompile the framework-res.apk (BTW, there is a little more than just editing the apk). I have never had any luck with APK Tool or APK Manger. If there is anyone out there who could possibly help with this, I can finish and post my guide.
***EDIT***
I went ahead and posted my guide even though I haven't perfected the decompile/recompile of the apk. The service is still removed but framework-res.apk still tries to start it. I have no FCs or issues running it as it is.

Signals Bars still not working
I appear to be getting only 1x data and not 3g. I have experienced this problem on the fascinate build also.
Downloading apps from the market seemed to be a problem when on the data network. When I go to download an app, a warning pops up saying the file is too big, i select "start downloading" but it has already canceled the download. This is also an issue on the fascinate build also. I still dont know how to disable the warning.
In the status bar, it says "Roaming Indicator Off" where it should say US Cellular.
Also, when under about phone<status, it says network unknown. This is not a huge problem but just something to fix maybe.
I have experience some miui.home force closes. I get shot back into the app that i was in. Then i rehit the home button and miui.home launches.. it kinda weird but has only happened twice since last night.
As far as that, everything appears to be working fine/ same as the fascinate build.

If I try this with Merruk's Kernel. Should I flash this first as the Kernel removes the stock recovery? And will it work?
you tell us, bro ...
This is what I do:
I have STOCK DXLA1 and I flash Chobits ROM v1 and v1.2 via stock recovery.
Then I extract system to SD card, flash Merruk's Kernel via ODIN and install the Ext4.zip(This was the instruction in Merruk's Kernel)
I got Superuser error. I try installing busybox 1.19.4 but SU keeps on denying busybox.
because of the compression issue latest merruk gave me su issue , too
Are there ways to fix that?

You'll just need to do a wipe data .. just boot in stock recovery then re-install.
NOTE : First boot animation will take some time.. cheers~
Flashed this ROM no problems all looking good, reboot into STOCK recovery and apply the 1.2 update zip in STOCK recovery and reboot, now my touch screen doesn't respond to any touches.
Even when I hold the power button for the shut down menu to come up, it doesn't register my touches on that menu either, so the only way to turn off my phone it pulling the battery.
reflashing the original ROM fixes the touch screen, but updating breaks this.
whats causing this thanks

I tried flashing through CWM, STOCK using various combinations, but the touch screen doesn't respond on the update..
I tried flashing 1.0 through stock and 1.2 through stock - frozen touch
both through cwm - frozen touch
one through cwm and one through stock - frozen touch..
I don't understand why I'm getting this problem, I've heard of bootloops and things but never frozen touchscreen, I know the screen still works because I can turn it on and off using the power button and holding the powerbutton brings up that phone menu (which I can't touch)..

Favorite rom ever. Good to see it here. Ill enjoy a modded stock for a bit then take this bad boy for a spin

Working great for me, thanks a lot! Your LZ kernel is working great as well. No hiccups yet. I'm loving all the sizing features and color options. I'm also glad this switched to SuperSU, as I use dsploit a lot and superuser is not friendly. I was having to reflash SuperSU after each CM10 update.

What SU files do you want us to flash and where do we get them.
Congrats on the release. Look forward to trying it out

since I don't see a q&a, I;ll ask here. I am guessing no wifi calling? I've been so spoilt that I need it now. I need it so bad...
I just flashed your ROM everything seems real snappy and fast but I used CPU spy and the frequencies are strange most of the time its at min or max theres almost no frequencies used in between? Is that a bug in the new kernel or a cm10 bug? Otherwise great ROM so far thanks!
Where do we get the super su files from that is mentioned I'm the flashing instructions?

I didnt need to flash any supersu files? Supersu is installed and i restored all my backups from TB so i know root is working fine without having to flash over anything else but the rom and gapps of course.
Does the camera only save to the internal storage?
@Bradlees wifi calling? No... I might add it later after I get the ui bug fixed (paranoid preferneces)
@DiViNEX CPU spy and the frequencies are strange. Logcat perhaps... Otherwise, I won't be able to track it. Might be the app conflicting with something because the built in cpu monitor looks fine.
@cheddarbob41 su files? Oops... old flashing instructions... I updated OP... Thanks
@mytasteinwomen Does the camera only save to the internal storage? For now, yes... Might change that to external storage later...
