Ok have always, backed up my photos, into Google Picasa, but now reached my 1gig, limit, which means I have to purchase extra, so now, trying to look at other free, reputable online storage sites you use, preferably with loads of free storage. Why not use dropbox to sync your photos?

You know what even I have the same Google Picasa account with 1GB free storage however, after I created Google Plus account when it was launched it shows that I have used only 3% of the storage but it was about 95% before creating G+.
You may give it a try however, I'm not very sure if this helps you too but it is working for me.

Forgot to mention that I have about 10 Locked albums!!
There is SkyDrive with 25GB free of charge, but there is no official Android app (yet) although the mobile web site is pretty decent.
However I don't think there is any way to automatically upload your photos from an Android device to SkyDrive.
If you sign up with Google+, you get virtually UNLIMITED uploads into Google+/Picasa, as long as your photos are under 2048x2048 and videos are under 15 minutes each. If the photos are bigger than 2048x2048, Picasa will resize them automatically. I have literally 80 gigs of photos and videos on my account so far and I still only have a free account. In fact when I checked the amount of space I have used, it only shows 102 MB used out of a total of 1024. The Instant Upload feature is also great since it auto uploads all my photos and videos and puts it in the cloud, available for viewing on my computer almost immediately. Once they're on Google+/Picasa, I can immediately delete it from my phone to clear up space. This is one of the best reasons to be on Google+ if you're not already on it is to get the almost Unlimited storage and Instant Upload feature.

Thanks a lot everyone, I think the winner for me, should therefore be Google + because I prefer everything Google, so Google plus, I go.

Hey guys just putting up a reminder that from November 30 to March 31, 2012 Box and LG are teaming up to offer 50GB of free storage.
I downloaded the Box app, registered, and a prompt popped up telling me I have 50GB of storage now.

Pretty cool.

Since I had not heard of Box, did a web search to see who the company is. The surfed there on my G2x, got the Android App, signed up and got 50GB storage. The signup says 5GB but afterwards tell you 50GB. Have to sign up on your G2X or other LG phone.
I just downloaded the BOX app on the android market registered and received free 50GB on my T-mobile LG G2x. easy as that.
So you searched who it is.... care to tell us what you found??

Okay, so maybe the deebs on the market didn't notice the "save for off-live" button. Nice but needs a desktop client.

Box is not there yet with the features but if enough people start using it and asking for features we'll eventually get there.
I only got 5gb g2x
I got this when the offer first surfaced and set up an account. I don't think I'll be using it much at all though.
-No Windows app/sync
-File Size limited to 100MB
To get sync and upgrade the size limit to 2GB it's a $20/month upgrade. Although I'm constantly reaching my 2GB dropbox limit, it's still just so much easier to use that.
thanks for the tip op, I got the 50GB.
Now that some lucky members are getting their AT&T One X's, it has come out that DropBox is not pre-installed. Could some lucky member verify that the DropBox app available in the Play Store will recognize that it is being ran through an HTC device, and so qualify for the free additional storage promo?
Thanks!

If you have an Android or another phone, you can still use SkyDrive. Just open your phone’s web browser and go to SkyDrive.com. You might need to sign in with your Windows Live ID. Find the file or photo you’d like to view, and tap it.

I started with my existing 2gig account too, but after you go thru a short orientation, you get 25 gigs. You have to do 5 of 7 steps to get the extra capacity. It does recognize that you have an HTC, but there you still have to do the 5 steps. Stuff like install Dropbox on a PC, upload a picture, etc.

I went through this, and it says congratulations you've just earn 23GB! And on the bottom you can now store up to 10.25GB (which is my original storage) on dropbox...
huh.
I guess, in short I still didn't get the 23GB...
Is there a customer service we can call/email or something?
Thanks.
I heard that if you used the cheat to get the extra storage from the hacked dropbox and it was taken away, you are blacklisted from earning extra space
I heard how HOX were all supposed to get 25GB free space from Dropbox but I don't see the app preinstalled. If you download it from the google play store, i don't think you get it either....
Using TI backup, I noticed there is something installed on our phones that relates to Dropbox (see screenshot)...anyone know if this is something we can use?

I just downloaded it and logged in. No email or anything.
Actually, it took 2 days for it to show up on my dropbox. I use it everyday for work so I can see how much storage I got
It just magically changed with no email lol.
Maybe it was because I got mine early? Who knows.
Thanks guys, signed up and then got the email a few mins later. I don't like doing the steps though lol.
Guys,
I know I've got the Rogers OneX and not the AT&T one, so maybe this doesn't apply.
I didn't need to manually install the DropBox app. I don't recall if it showed up when I first booted my phone, but when I was adding my accounts (GMail, Exchange, Facebook, etc,) I added my existing DropBox account. Then I got the 25GB free and the app was present.
Dunno if this helps in the slightest... just my experience on Rogers.

Finally!!!!!!
After 2 weeks and a nasty gram to DB, I get an email today. DB apologized gave me my 23 gigs and stated their system was bogged down, they Sorry
Maybe I spoke too soon cuz it seems to have worked now. I signed in again for the 4-5 time and got an email. I did have to go and do 5 of the 7 steps to get it though.
Have anyone tried after getting these 25gb login to a different account or register a new one? Do they give another 25gb to that account too?
I've tried that, but didn't receive any additional 25gb on different accounts..
I believe it's tracked by IMEI maybe? But then again, I've read a lot of people went into the store and logged into their dropbox on the demos and got the bonus lol...
My preordered One X had a bad screen so I had it replaced. So for my second one, I used my work dropbox and got the bonus 25gb too
Downloaded dropbox to my phone and logged in with my free account thats tied to my gmail account, and i got the free 23gb within seconds.

Had to go through the update 3 times for it to stick. Must be a lot of people doing the same thing.
Thanks for the heads up.
The day I trust AT&T with my data....
But thanks anyway for the link! I'm sure several people will try it out!
Yup. Took me 3 tries too. I think, for obvious reasons, AT&T just doesn't want to give away the space. They're hoping you'll give up and say, "It just doesn't work" but stick with it...3 tries and my locker says 50 Gig. Thanks a bunch.
Worked for my wife and I. Thank you. I guess we were lucky, cuz it stuck after the first try. Now let's hope the locker isn't some crazy battery drainer, or just end up being some buggy, crappy AT&T garbage.

Tried 3 times on the site, but it wouldn't go thru. Worked 1st try on their app.
Probably won't use it because of G+ and I have a 25GB Pogoplug account for life.
Already got the 50GB dropbox storage. Thanks though Maybe sometime in the future when i need more than 50GB cloud storage..lol
Good catch. After creating the locker account, the upgrade process was pretty clear the free upgrade to 50GB is a limited offer, but said nothing about it being free for a limited time. Hopefully that means it's a permanent, free upgrade.
Maybe a place to store another backup of my music files ? It's hard to think of anything I'd actually trust to put on any server related to AT&T 'tho.

Some people don't need a lot of space. I much prefer larger internal storage over SD card any day. Though i need 64 for all my music which is an issue with nexus devices. For many people 16 is enough though. 1 backup, decent amount of apps, little to no music, and all is well. Some people just have different needs. SD storage is slow and limited anyways. I wish it was completely rid of and larger internal storage options were offered for all devices. Google has been trying to get rid of SD card storage for quite a while.

32gb is a good amount of storage on a phone. Need to make backups USB-OTG all the way for that and use cloud storage for allot of things. anything under 32gb for me is not enough.
cloud service is a crap to keep files to which you need access most of the time, I do not want pay for unlimited mobile internet which not every where available and have the same speed.
cloud service can be used just maybe for backup and sync, and of course for the files which you wanna share.
On my phone 16gb internal storage and 32gb micro sdcard and this amount very close to be full. And not going to manage my files just because google want it.
Then a NEXUS device is not for you. Use a phone that does support micro sdcard storage. I just hope, for your sake, that other device manufacturers don't follow suit and get rid of that old technology. :good:

I disagree. Cloud is great..there is no way I'm getting my 500GB music collection on my phone while still using it as a phone, without the cloud. I use Subsonic, Google Music, and Pogoplug Cloud, as well as the usual Drive/Dropbox/Keep solutions for everyday junk. 16 or 32 becomes insiginificant once you move your mind into the cloud, either personal (subsonic,Pogo) or service provider (Google,Dropbox,etc.).

Thats it. I think google push cloud services a bit forward with every single release (Android, ChromeOS) and thats good in my eyes.
More users + more devices = increasing demand for faster mobile internet speed.
Only some mobile operators need to follow - their main purpose is still the same - pull from our pockets as much money as possible.
Just think what happend with CromeOS, great stuff but 70% people around the glob can't use OS for normal operations.
Again problem, slow internet connections. Google was sure in year 2012 world will be more hi-speed covered with optical internet.
I don't know if u know for project FLAG (Fiber-Optic Link Around the Globe). Almost all world countrys are covered with optical
internet the main fu*king problem are our stupid internet providers. They still selling old technology.
Don't believe cloud storage will be a plausible alternative until mobile phone providers stop being money hungry power giants. On at&t its 10 bucks for a single gigabyte of data I believe. At least their 3gb plan is $30. That's insanely expensive if you plan on relying on cloud services to keep your media. I listen to music 2+ hours a day. I would be spending at least $100 on data overcharges a month. There is no way I plan on making a switch to cloud storage for at least the next 3-4 years. Even then I doubt mobile data charges will have gone down, at all. Maybe $7.50 a gigabyte but even that is way too much.
