[RECOVERY] Official ClockworkMod - Galaxy S Plus I9001 Android Development

Hi all,
here's the official ClockWork Mod recovery, built from the Gingerbread branch.
Disclaimer: this piece of software is not for the unexperienced and might bring you in a situation you can't resolve yourself. So don't use it if you fear the potential danger of bricking your device. I am responsible for nothing related to this piece of software and therefore won't help. If you decide to use it anyway you agree to be ultimately responsible for all consequences that may occur. So you have been warned !

may i know what's the difference this and feamod?

It's working, but I'll keep Feamod 1.4 since there is no difference at all except the logo

Sure, from the FeaMod thread:
FeaCore Phoenix includes:
-BFQ I/O scheduler 2 r1
-SIO I/O scheduler
-OC up to 1.8 GHz
-smartassV2 governor (ondemand is default)
-JFS and CIFS support
-tun included
-bootanimation support
-new boot sound
- I8150 GPU librarys
-cleancache

This one is the upstream vanilla clockworkmod: https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_bootable_recovery
I don't apply any patch.

This is vanilla. If you install this _after_ the feamod recovery you'll notice no change because the FeaMod installs the GPU driver and a custom boot, and this recovery do not remove them.

That list is a list of Kernel features, the recovery can't have those tweaks inside,
Feacore Phoenix = Kernel
Feamod = Recovery

Right, my fault. I misunderstood things.
The differences between this and the FeaMod recovery are these:
https://github.com/manveru0/FeaMod-Recovery/commits/gingerbread/
Every manveru0 commit (like replacing sd-ext by sdcard or changing some message) isn't included in the official one. Also, this one has some upstream change that aren't included in the FeaMod recovery because manveru0 left.

Hey, thank you for this. Finally someone is working again on the CWM recovery.
I just want to ask you something about a problem which I encountered during the development of my ROM Crybernation with AROMA-INSTALLER.
Its about the colors in CWM.
The colors on the screen seems to be right, but when I take a sreenshot in CWM with DDMS I get a red picture.
In AROMA there is a blue tint in CWM. But the screenshots have the correct colors. ( See attachments below)
So amarullz the developer of AROMA-INSTALLER said that there is something wrong with the framebuffer.
I'm not that familiar with this but perhaps you have an idea what could be wrong. So you think you can solve this problem?
Also could you delete the additional "No's", like manveru0 did it?

Thank's Man Nice work
I didn't think you would do it so fast

Anyway, Thanks for carrying on CWM for i9001. Nice to see another dev working for our device, Too bad manveru0 left.
Anyway thanks again!

For some reason this doesn't work with ROM Manager yet. I asked some CWM dev, and they said ROM Manager works only if the ClockworkMod is installed using it.
I'll try to play a bit with it.

I suppose "newer" FeaMod backups can still be restored with this "older" version?

It detects my internal sdcard as the external and vice versa

Looking at the CWM code, the /emmc is called "the internal card".
I googled a bit, and the behavior is right.

[MOD] Desire Camera R2 Based on various kernel mods [UPDATE: 5/3]

OK, here's my first real contribution to the Android community... and I owe all credit to the amazing cooks out here...
I take no credit for anything, other than the fact that I kanged Paul's, Pershoot's, Cyangen's, intersectRaven's, Ivan Dimkovic's and Termana's work...
PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE POST BEFORE DOWNLOADING AND FLASHING. I SUGGEST U READ THE POSTS OF THE ORIGINAL KERNEL AUTHORS AS WELL.
This is a mod of the Desire Camera R2 port by Paul.
I just pushed the changes to various kernel mods including the stock CM506 kernel.
This should work on any stock version of CyanogenMod... tested on CM 5.0.5.x & CM 5.0.6... These mods should work with other ROMs as well, but I have not tested any. Try at your own risk.
Instructions:
1. Pop the zip file onto your SD card.
2. Reboot into Amon RAs recovery.
3. Do a nandroid backup [VERY IMPORTANT IN CASE YOU FACE SOME PROBLEMS!].
4. Select "Flash zip from SD" and select this zip.
5. Reboot.
Note:
This will flash a modified Pershoot's OC/UV kernel boot.img and replace the camera app. Flashing the boot.img is necessary since this mod requires a change in init.rc. Flashing another boot.img will cause the Desire camera to FC. If you want to flash another kernel, flash the zImage and push the wlan ko. Please use at your own risk (but, no this will not brick your phone).
Known Issues:
You might encounter FCs if you use NexTheme Goodies add-on.
Update (4/26):
Using Pershoot's UC/OV & UC/OV Xtra kernel mods
Using intersect Raven's AVS kernel mods
Using Ivan Dimkovic's AVS & AVS OC kernel mods
Using Termana's .34rc3 kernel mod
Update (4/27):
Using Pershoot's UC/OV & UC/OV Xtra 33.3 kernel mods - 4/26
Using intersect Raven's AVS 33.3 kernel mods - 4/27
Using Ivan Dimkovic's 800mv AVS 33.2 kernel mods - 4/26
Update (4/29):
Using intersect Raven's 800mv AVS 33.3 kernel mods - 4/29
Using Termana's OC/UV 34rc5 kernel mod - 4/28
Update (5/2):
DIY kit and How-To document added (Desire-Camera-R2-DIY).
Update (5/3):
Using intersect Raven's 800mv & 925mv BFS & CFS AVS 33.3 kernel mods - 5/3
Using Ivan Dimkovic's 800mv & 925mv OC & Non-OC AVS 33.3 kernel mods - 5/2

Btw, thanks Craig I'm so glad that I can use the desire cam again ^^ I miss it so much ~~~
Reflashed the Kernal update and it works now...I had been using CameraZoom, but think I'm going to uninstall it now as I never really used the plugins.
Thanks!
It works Thank You
Um nevermind... I take back what I said about the fact that it's working properly... it actually isn't.
The camera occasionally closes on me. Sometimes it also restarted my phone when I try to open it too.
Why there is a need to install it together with boot image ? Isn't it just a regular system application with additional libraries ?
If this is a case, is it possible to remove the boot image from the package - this way it can be used by anyone who want to run a different kernel and it won't be any need to reflash the kernel after installing this?

Try Wipe Cache and Wipe Dalvik-Cache and Reset Battery stats and then flash this Camera\Kernel mod
Or try separately flash Kernel and then flash Camera\Kernel mod... I was the flashing of a kernel before flash this mod and no doing Wipe

That's what I did ^^;
You should probably mention that by using this, one also overwrites the current kernel.. No good if you use another kernel that the one supplied with this .zip.
Nice work!
Is there a way to change the default names of the pic?
"date_time.jpg" would be nice so they are ordered correctly in gallery..

Actually, this has changes in init.rc (to initialise the htc framework) which can only be changed by flashing the boot image. So no, there's no way to get it working without flashing the boot

[INFO/FAQ] Unofficial Cyanogen Mod 7.1 Cm7.1 Nightly

I have noticed a couple threads popping up about cm7 nightlies. I figured we could use one thread to post all of our finding, tweaks, workarounds, ect.
I'll try and keep on top of this thread and make the OP some what of a FAQ.

This worked great for setting emmc to sdcard... could this zip be updated to also set the external sdcard to sdcard2?
Edit...nevermind, now I see that the file maps the external sdcard back to emmc. I will check it out after I get my sdcard formatted.

It's a Gingerbread thing - Gingerbread uses emmc and sdcard, Froyo used sdcard and sdcard2.
I just want to be sure here...
I flash the ROM then the gapps then the vold.fstab zip?
Also, where do I put my titanium back up license? Usually on the root if my sd card but this whole emmc/sd card has my head spinning.
Thanks.

I don't have a titanium pro license but I do believe it is just an app you install. If it is then you would just install it and it would be place in /data not /sdcard or /emmc

You may have already figured this out, but you would put the license file in the root of the internal sd now that it is being seen as the sdcard. I have this same setup.
Nightly 38 is up. Nothing big added just some bugfixes.

I installed the nightly v38 this morning and discovered that my cifsmanager didn't work. I flashed Clemsyn's GB v9 and now cifsmanager works. I noticed that it replaced Pershoot's kernel but I didn't pay attention to which version that was before I flashed.
Unfortunately, now my USB mount doesn't work. Oh well, I can still boot to CWM for my USB stuff.

Just flashed the zip version of CWM 6.0.1.1.
All working fine as I installed SSrls7 zip and extra icons zip , but like you said the proximity sensor when covered made the screen go black although it came back on as soon as uncovered.
I also previously had Swedish Snow RLS7 with stock kernel.
Original gen1 amold, U.K San Francisco.
All in all quite impressed as this is my first go with CWM 6 and touch based recovery.
Anything else I can do to help.

That was the first version, the one posted originally seems to work fine with gen2 and 3 phones.
I made a new version with the lightsensor turned off and brightness set to 150, this one should work for everyone.

Try the new version, the md5 match when i download it.
I'll remove the links to the earlier files soon, the lightsensor goes berzerk on any version of the phone apart from gen3 and even there it doesn't work properly.
Two things :
1. In the mounts and storage menu, there's no "go back" option. You have to pull the battery and reboot to go back
2. There's no option to create an update.zip like you said there was?
Aside from this, love the wallpaper and the touch recovery

1. Yes there is, you just have to scroll down to see it. Almost all menus are scrollable including the "no - no - no - no - yes - no - no" menus to confirm action.
2. go to backup and restore, the option is named "create image zip" it backs up and makes a flashable .zip file from current setup.

Just look in the clockworkmod github,, it's all in there apart from the touch, you're going to have to work around it and it's not easy.
In short, you can't do that without breaking touch.
Will do some testing on 6.0.1.2, just making a back-up with the stable version. will report back in a bit
---------- Post added at 08:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:07 PM ----------
Backup and restoring works as expected, formats all work, mount as USB works, hardware buttons work, no flickering, seems all good to me

Excellent, can you try to make an image zip and restoring from that too?
If that works for you as well i'm moving it to RC, i'll probably release a version with no-op as sheduler since it seems to be a whole lot faster for people with sd-ext ext3 filesystems.

Main rom will be added into boot menu entry. Now reboot again into boot menu and you will see new menuentry, chose these menu to boot into your primary rom!

Oh, given that a boot.img is actually a kernel I thought it might be something you could implement whilst working on it.

Done and CM11 is booted sucesfully from sdcard By now have only one problem which I have experienced last year on my multiboot for Xperia Go, I have solved them on Xperia Go but unable to find a thread how I got fixed them solved, problem now on Z1C is these seccondary rom runing from sdcard is very slow like was a year ago on Xperia Go, if some one found my post where I have fixed that please give me a link. I don't know if there is something related to the tune2fs parameters since I forgot how I got them fixed. Every idea is welcome!
Maybe this

Yes seems 3.th post related to tune2fs and journal_data_writeback to cache and data giving better performance. Stil noticed some lags, probably because my 8gb old sdcard is so slow Will try to boot from internal storage, maybe it will give better performance or at least maybe an 64gb class 10 sdcard can solve lag problems? What you think guys?

Try FlashFire and/or move to internal storage?
If still no cigar, I'll take a look tomorrow. For now if you'd like to use it you can extract it and in "system" take the file and put it in /system/su.d
If you do not have the folder su.d, create it and give it full permissions "0777" and then also give the script fill permissions inside the su.d folder "0777". Then reboot
Thanks

Can you ensure that it is running on boot please (go to /data and you'll see a log file at the bottom).
Then make sure the tweaks are taking... Go into kernel adiutor and go to the CPU tab (it's an app) and then make sure the governor is set to "interactive" and then select governor tunables on the little governor (second governor tunables button, closer to the bottom) and tell me what the first box says.
Thanks

Not sure if I understood your question fully, hopefully I answered it.
Here are some results with version 1.2 (brightness is just under half) -
I'm still working on making it better
* Those of you on non US qualcomm variants will probably get better than this!
I know, I know... Three posts in a row... Deal with it ;p
Version 1.3 is up! Check out changes in OP!
