but in the tutorial it says better to flash XXKPE before flashing XXKPQ..
so it minz to say although my phone is JPKP5 is it okay to flash KPQ directly without flashing the said KPE as based? so it doesn't matter the firmware itself as long as the version is ok. for example i am in froyo region is middle east and want to upgrade to xxkpq for asian version. so is it alrigth directly flashing to asian version..am i right?:cyclops:

I will explain u. Right now DDLF2 is most updated stock rom. If u are on any GB firmware then u can directly flash DDLF2 rom without any problem. But usually it is recommanded to have a clean flash. Means first flash xxkpe then flash ddlf2 rom to avoid any future problem.

Hi Guys,
I am updating my SGR for the first time, I had some queries, so if some one would answer, I would be really thankful.
Official ICS update is not for my country, so how should I take backup so that I don't lose my warranty.
Also which version of ICS is better, Nordic one or Austria or anyother country?
Also can you please help me with how to update like which software to use to install ICS, like someone was saying odin and others?
Thanks, Your help will be greatly appreciated

Buddy, A Very Warm Welcome to our Forum. For your queries Here is the answers:
1) Official ICS update is not for my country, so how should I take backup so that I don't lose my warranty.
A: ICS is announced to world by Samsung, so flash this wont loose any warranty but yes, rooting may be.
So, If you would flash Official ICS from Sammobile then no need to worry
2) Also can you please help me with how to update like which software to use to install ICS, like someone was saying odin and others?
A: you can install it using ODIN 3.07V - here is the procedure: Click Here for everything you need
3) Also which version of ICS is better, Nordic one or Austria or anyother country?
Approx, all versions are same except bloatwares providing by them. Few might be extra features then flash the latest one.
In the last, We have Q/A thread it doesn't mean every 2nd thread would be asking HOW to or From Where I can flash ICS.
Use Search option in thread. Coz every question you have asked, already been resolved earlier. There need to search only. Lil bit time taken, but good for our forum.
Thanks Kataria and Nilesh, So if I just update the firmware, I wont be losing any warranty.
How should I back up so that i can downgrade to gingerbread (2.3)?

Yes...
mj is right...
there are cases when you downgrade..you tend to stuck on boot loop or on Samsung screen..
so the best way to downgrade is simply restore your cwm backup and then reflash the stock firmware..
Thanks MJ and Vipul
Can someone please provide the link of how to backup using CWN?
Do I need to root to backup using CWN?

Flash CWM first and take backup, Root is not required for it....
Download any version of CWM from the below link and flash it using ODIN.

Hi, What should I add to pda section?
CWM: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?u98qal9rxwwvud0 (or)
ODIN: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?50bkbbtblok3b02
ODIN ie pda section always takes .tar file.
Thnx!
Thanks, Actually It was not moving forward so I disconnected and now phone is not opening up, Should the tar file be the one of ICS nearly about 650 mb for galaxy R

Hello!
Right now i'm using Gnabo ROM v6.5 and i decided to return to stock rom. How can I do this?
Just download the stock android 4.1.2 and flash via Odin (by inserting it to AP section)? I heard that this is more complicated process.
Thanks for help in advance

Hi,
I have a SM-G920F (Android 5.1.1) with this baseband G920FXXU2POGN.
Can I flash one of the ROMs in the Android Development section?
Or do I have to flash back to the older baseband first (if possible) with Odin?
Thanks,
As long as the ROM is for G920F you can flash it.
Mate u can flash it what u want from roms in dev section u are already on latest bl/modem so go & flash & Enjoy mate

Yes, worked like a charm.
I'm trying to flash G920FXXU2POGN_G920FDPX2POGN_G920FXXU2POGN_HOME.tar from G920FXXU2BOG8_G920FOXA2BOG8_G920FXXU2BOGE_HOME.tar but i keep getting error in the last part of Odin flashing. I believe when flashing hidden.img after flashing system.img.
Am i doing something wrong ?
Thank you.
@Dr.No.pt
getting the same, we need a different flash tool to bypass KNOX.....

Hello guys. May i just ask if how do you get the cp,ap,bl,csc file of a specific firmware rather than just the AP itself (.tar.md5)?
Cause i flashed the russian firmware when i flashed MM rom for the first time. can it uses the russian baseband. I need to change it.
Thanks!
