but in the tutorial it says better to flash XXKPE before flashing XXKPQ..
so it minz to say although my phone is JPKP5 is it okay to flash KPQ directly without flashing the said KPE as based? so it doesn't matter the firmware itself as long as the version is ok. for example i am in froyo region is middle east and want to upgrade to xxkpq for asian version. so is it alrigth directly flashing to asian version..am i right?:cyclops:

I will explain u. Right now DDLF2 is most updated stock rom. If u are on any GB firmware then u can directly flash DDLF2 rom without any problem. But usually it is recommanded to have a clean flash. Means first flash xxkpe then flash ddlf2 rom to avoid any future problem.

Uploading right now.
No tweaks except removal of bootloader. The bootloader may be dangerous if there no proper care.

[Q] Update to ICS

Hi Guys,
I am updating my SGR for the first time, I had some queries, so if some one would answer, I would be really thankful.
Official ICS update is not for my country, so how should I take backup so that I don't lose my warranty.
Also which version of ICS is better, Nordic one or Austria or anyother country?
Also can you please help me with how to update like which software to use to install ICS, like someone was saying odin and others?
Thanks, Your help will be greatly appreciated

Buddy, A Very Warm Welcome to our Forum. For your queries Here is the answers:
1) Official ICS update is not for my country, so how should I take backup so that I don't lose my warranty.
A: ICS is announced to world by Samsung, so flash this wont loose any warranty but yes, rooting may be.
So, If you would flash Official ICS from Sammobile then no need to worry
2) Also can you please help me with how to update like which software to use to install ICS, like someone was saying odin and others?
A: you can install it using ODIN 3.07V - here is the procedure: Click Here for everything you need
3) Also which version of ICS is better, Nordic one or Austria or anyother country?
Approx, all versions are same except bloatwares providing by them. Few might be extra features then flash the latest one.
In the last, We have Q/A thread it doesn't mean every 2nd thread would be asking HOW to or From Where I can flash ICS.
Use Search option in thread. Coz every question you have asked, already been resolved earlier. There need to search only. Lil bit time taken, but good for our forum.
Thanks Kataria and Nilesh, So if I just update the firmware, I wont be losing any warranty.
How should I back up so that i can downgrade to gingerbread (2.3)?

Better Take CWM backup before updating to ICS, So if you have problem then you can revert back to GB easily.....

Yes...
mj is right...
there are cases when you downgrade..you tend to stuck on boot loop or on Samsung screen..
so the best way to downgrade is simply restore your cwm backup and then reflash the stock firmware..
Thanks MJ and Vipul

Flash CWM first and take backup, Root is not required for it....
Download any version of CWM from the below link and flash it using ODIN.

Hi, What should I add to pda section?
CWM: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?u98qal9rxwwvud0 (or)
ODIN: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?50bkbbtblok3b02
ODIN ie pda section always takes .tar file.
Thnx!
Thanks, Actually It was not moving forward so I disconnected and now phone is not opening up, Should the tar file be the one of ICS nearly about 650 mb for galaxy R

[i9003] upgraded to wrong country firmware

I have upgraded my galaxy gt i9003 From FROYO to gingerbread, But while upgrading i chose wrong country firmware( i9003JPKP5) instead of I9003ODDLF2_INU. After upgrade incoming calls were blocked,I wasnt getting calls, When any user calls he was getting busy tone.
Later I tried upgrading to ODDLF2 my native country firmware and my phone started to restart every time (Boot Loop)(soft brick i think) .After trying multiple times I wasnt successful. Finally i decided to give my phone to SAMSUNG service center and after couple of days they also said my phone cant be repaired bcoz of overseas version, it needs mother board replacement. Pls help me i m clueless what to do next , Is my phone Ir-repairable ?

My brother is using this mobile from the last 2 years. Now he's facing some issues with the stock os in his mobile, he asked me to update. I never had any samsung mobile, so I dont have any idea how to unlock the bootloader, how to install cwm recovery etc. If the latest 2.3.5 stock rom is good, then I will flash that. The device's firmware version is showing as DDKA5 and ddkb2. In the OP it says XKPQ was the good one to flash, is it possible to flash on my device. Thank u!

This is 2.3.6 but no, I'm not sure how the installation is done, sorry.
However, if you'd like.. try DDLF2. Follow the exact instructions. I hope you know how to flash stock firmwares using Odin? If not, PM me. And then root it.
Once you're done rooting the firmware, flash this via Clockwork Mod recovery. If you don't know how, again, PM me.
Then, flash this. It's got Arabic support and plus other cool mods like swipe to clear notifications and more.
