Sorry, but...
So, what's baseband?
For example, for my phone the Latest SE firmware are:
2.1.1.A.0.6 / 2.1.1.C.0.0
and from that difference, the baseband changes...
So, using Your example may be first xp and second vista?
But where I can read what's are the difference between this two ones?
Is always suggested to change it, anytime a new one release's deployed?
And baseband? How is useful?
Thanks.
Cheers,
M.
Hi
When a rom is based on XXX, does it mean I have to download and install XXX first or is it included in the rom ?
For exemple http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506752
"Based on stock 2.3.6 Dxkt5"
This is the Asian 2.3.6 for Samsung Galaxy Ace.
I'm french and using european 2.3.6. (XWKT7) (not yet, but downloading. 2.3.4 atm)
Can I install the OmegaRom? And how?
Thanks

Difference between link ROM and firmware at Samsung Updates
Hello,
I am trying to revert back from the latest Jelly Bean update 4.1.1 to stock Samsung ICS. I was going to go through the ROM provided via XDA along with ODIN, but then I checked the Samsung Updates website, and the firmware they provide for the phone is much larger then the one you provided.
I am confused about:
1- what is the difference between the ROM and the firmware.
2- if there isn't any difference why is the one at Samsung Updates much larger then the one linked to here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737855&highlight=stock+rom
3- If there is a difference how does one install firmware rather than ROMs.
4- is there a way to disable automatic updates once the ICS firmware or ROM is installed on the phone?
Thank you very much in advance,
-Z

On xda interchangable words firmware is called the rom.

Sam up dates stock Samsung firmware or a stock rom.

Yes your settings .

I'm in Dubai, no update here either...
This is why I MANUALLY installed the rom here in XDA Developers & installed ICS myself. If you wait for Samsung you'll wait forever.
Best to download it yourself & install.

i am in Algeria and i have a Hong Kong galaxy tab 7.7, av got the update on Kies but i won't use it, ics still has some issues, am waiting for a stable version enchalah.
if you want it so bad, look into the development section, you will find how to update your tab to the latest version of ics, which is the Indian.

Thanks
So its better to flash my tab better than waiting ? and i use the Indian firmware ?
will i be able to still use my Tablet as a phone like put my simcard in it and everything ?
yes you can use it just like you did when you were on honeycomb, but!
1 there is issues on ics, read about it before flashing! if you don't mind... well, next >
2 there is a big problem with ics which is the brick after a wipe! read about it, if you're ok >
3 the modem included in the Indian firmware may work or not work correctly in your hometown
good luck

Yes, better to flash your tab rather than wait months for Samsung to release the update for your country...
If using the Indian Firmware gives you Arabic language then go ahead & use it...
You can use your tab just like a phone by inserting your sim into it...
what so called hard brich is also within HC too! the fix for this is available in the forum just search for it > upgrade to ICS the austrian latest rom is working in good order except for wifi.. get wifi extender and connect through it .it's the best solution i've used so far .. actually the official roms are less bugs than the modified ones .
now u said the word " Brick "
im afraid of doing it because i jsut go the device i dont want to brick it X_X!!
i hate HC its slow and laggy X_X
i'll guess i'll just wait for the official release :<
Malaysia
India
Thailand
Philippines
ICS are all out for them
Damn Samsung is SLOW on update s
Iam flashing my device and every thing is ok you can flash it by odin and then flash cwm to wipe data without the bug if you need to wipe
And i think there is no need to wipe your device

[Q] Update to ICS

Hi Guys,
I am updating my SGR for the first time, I had some queries, so if some one would answer, I would be really thankful.
Official ICS update is not for my country, so how should I take backup so that I don't lose my warranty.
Also which version of ICS is better, Nordic one or Austria or anyother country?
Also can you please help me with how to update like which software to use to install ICS, like someone was saying odin and others?
Thanks, Your help will be greatly appreciated

Buddy, A Very Warm Welcome to our Forum. For your queries Here is the answers:
1) Official ICS update is not for my country, so how should I take backup so that I don't lose my warranty.
A: ICS is announced to world by Samsung, so flash this wont loose any warranty but yes, rooting may be.
So, If you would flash Official ICS from Sammobile then no need to worry
2) Also can you please help me with how to update like which software to use to install ICS, like someone was saying odin and others?
A: you can install it using ODIN 3.07V - here is the procedure: Click Here for everything you need
3) Also which version of ICS is better, Nordic one or Austria or anyother country?
Approx, all versions are same except bloatwares providing by them. Few might be extra features then flash the latest one.
In the last, We have Q/A thread it doesn't mean every 2nd thread would be asking HOW to or From Where I can flash ICS.
Use Search option in thread. Coz every question you have asked, already been resolved earlier. There need to search only. Lil bit time taken, but good for our forum.
Thanks Kataria and Nilesh, So if I just update the firmware, I wont be losing any warranty.
How should I back up so that i can downgrade to gingerbread (2.3)?

Yes...
mj is right...
there are cases when you downgrade..you tend to stuck on boot loop or on Samsung screen..
so the best way to downgrade is simply restore your cwm backup and then reflash the stock firmware..
Thanks MJ and Vipul
Can someone please provide the link of how to backup using CWN?

Flash CWM first and take backup, Root is not required for it....
Download any version of CWM from the below link and flash it using ODIN.

CWM: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?u98qal9rxwwvud0 (or)
ODIN: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?50bkbbtblok3b02
ODIN ie pda section always takes .tar file.
Thnx!
Thanks, Actually It was not moving forward so I disconnected and now phone is not opening up, Should the tar file be the one of ICS nearly about 650 mb for galaxy R

I try to flash a different country Firmware(4.2.2) through odin3. but it did't work.I know your phone can do this.....:crying: I just want to know why? Is it because my phone's bootloader is locked?

Baseband:
I9105pzcami1
Andriod vertion:
4.1.2
PLZZ help me and my friends....
(PS:sorry for my bad English)
Have you tried flash cm 11 directly from 4.1 bootloader??,may it works most dev write on their op to use 4.2 bootloader, but none tried and tell us may it works too with 4.1bootloader
Edit#
Or you mayvtry this cm10.1 build from @LuK1337 which stabler and more fluid, say thanks to him

You should only flash "PDA" and not have the "Re-partition" option ticked. For flashing official firmware, follow the guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428753
Also, flashing Note2 firmware on an S2 Plus is probably not a very good idea.
thanks

oh ,I‘m so sorry,I think my poor English makes you misunderstood, the screenshot isn't of mine...I mean my case is just similar to the picture,I'm sure I flashed a s2vep rom..I tried just flash PDA too...I think it is because my phone's bootloader is locked that what makes the failure..:crying:
I have tried many many methods according to the internet....someone said that I should use mobile odin pro app,but this app won't work in s2vep...I almost feel desperate about this ,I think it's time to buy a new phone...
PS:I can successfully flash an offical 4.1.2 rom...
It's impossible...download 4.2 official stock firmware...use the link given by AmoledIsBetter, follow steps, make sure u use the right firmware for ur phone (P version or no P version), and if something goes wrong come here with screenshots from ODIN. If all its OK u can flash CM11 easy...
Never heard of a locked bootloader on a S2 Plus.
Silly question maybe, but are you using the correct Samsung USB drivers for your PC? Did you flash CM 10.1 from the same PC previously?
Which 4.2.2 file are you trying to flash? I know that many have flashed I9105PXXUBNG1 from Germany.
Is your device genuine Samsung?
I think you are still factory locked. (Still locked to a carrier)
Something I read in a thread in past couple of days is that if it's a Chinese handset they can have their own drivers, so search for them, rest of the world drivers may only part work.

Hi,
I have a SM-G920F (Android 5.1.1) with this baseband G920FXXU2POGN.
Can I flash one of the ROMs in the Android Development section?
Or do I have to flash back to the older baseband first (if possible) with Odin?
Thanks,
As long as the ROM is for G920F you can flash it.
