[Q] Volume Button Missing? - HTC Sensation

I just bought an HTC Sensation 4G off ebay, and when I got it I noticed that the volume buttons are missing. The buttons themselves still work - I pressed both with a letter opener and they're fine. I've contacted the seller about this, but is this http://www.parts4repair.com/volume-button-for-htc-sensation-sensation-xe/ the correct piece to replace what's missing? I really don't want to return it, because otherwise the phone is in great shape and works perfectly.

Yeah those look to be what you need. Cheap

The problem I'm seeing is that the seller is based in Hong Kong, and so is every ebay seller for this item.... It's going to take a long time for the part to get here.... what about this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mint-OEM-HTC-Sensation-4G-Door-Back-Cover-With-Power-Volume-Button-Sensation4G-/130622693934?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1e69b8222e#ht_1207wt_1163? I don't really need an entire new back door but if it comes with the part and will get here faster I'll pay $7 more.

Yeah that's a way better buy. US seller with free shipping.

Thanks for the help. Also, what was HTC thinking, making the volume/power buttons part of the back cover rather than the phone itself? It's not surprising that this is a common problem; at least according to Google. It's just bad design.

Yeah I agree. This is the first phone I ever had with almost everything on the back cover.

Can the bottom cover be bought anywhere?

Hi,
I dropped my N1 some time ago; surprisingly enough after bouncing a couple times and sliding through concrete face-down, it still worked and was in top condition, no scratches on the screen. The bottom cover was dented though, with a piece of the black plastic layer showing.
I would like to know, is there any way to get one of those covers, to replace the damaged one? Apparently it's pretty easy to remove them.

Warranty? lol
Sent from my Nexus One using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
I don't think the warranty is going to cover damages caused by dropping the phone. I'm also abroad (writing from Spain) so probably sending it back is not an option.
HTC UK definitely have them, whether they'd ship you one is anyone's guess.

Definitely worth finding out. What would be the best way to contact them? By mail? By phone? Do they have a "replacements" department that I should address to?
Just call 'em I guess, mine was replaced under warrenty by them as it wasn't the best fit from factory.
i would call them if i were you.
i just got off the phone with HTC repair support. my battery cover was stained with ink and it wouldn't come off. jokingly i asked if that was covered by warranty, he said YES!!!
they are shipping me a new one this week, for free!!!
Given that the blotches on the antenna cover seem to be caused by the lovely little neoprene pouch, it's fair that it should be covered I reckon.
Just wanted to said that I called HTC UK this morning and they said I can send my phone for repair but I'll probably get charged since the scratch is my fault. I don't think I'll do that.

WTH happend to my screen???

What's up with my lCD screen? I noticed tis weird deformation on the screen with the protector REMOVED! I don't remember dropping it onto the screen or pushing it in really hard or anything. It looks like water but when I apply pressure, it doesn't spread out. Anyone?
BTW, there's no scratches, dents cracks on the screen. I always used a screen protector and I never leave it in the sun for too long.

Same thing has happened to me:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=796568
Newton ring effect apparently, search the forums for it.
My screen still works etc. just this has appeared on it, same as u, i haven't dropped it or anything.
O2 said they will repair it.
I'm wondering if its happened with the change in temperature here, as thats one cause apparently, but who knows...

Weird! How can I describe it to T-Mobile? I don't want them thinking I damaged the screen because they'll charge me 90 bucks for the replacement. I also have to flash the software back to stock. It's running modified software....
What I said to O2 was that there is a mark underneath the glass of the screen, which is causing a rainbow effect, and online it has been refered to as a Newton Ring.
I also did say that it wasn't dropped or anything as there is no damaged on the external of the phone.
I'm taking mine to O2 next week as I need it for my satnav this weekend!

Purple fur and some bling.
good day. From my Fascinate using the XDA app.

So, do I need a new SCREEN or DIGITIZER or what. Pic included

Hey everyone.
This phone was dropped.
Based on taking apart my HTC Incredible 2 to try and see if i could get it to stop overheating, i am confident I can replace the screen on this one, the wife is quite fond of it.
Please give me some idea of what parts are needed.
1. There are NO VISUAL CRACKS on the device, screen etc.
2. The screen seems pretty responsive but i cant really test every part of it due to the display issues...
thanks in advance, i promise to click the thanks button...

If their are no cracks on the screen then its the LCD. But personally I would get the LCD/digitiser combo where they are already attached together. Much easier than trying to separate them and replace one
This is what it looks like if it'd be both the screen and digitizer
I feel your pain wish I could replace mine xD.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
thanks to both.../
i guess it would be easier to just replace both at once. from what i have seen with taking apart my Incredible 2 you need a hair dryer to take the screen and digitizer apart, so that seems like a hassle.
I appreciate the answers.
You're welcome yeah its definitely not that easy I'd recommend getting the package over jut the LCD. Because you might break the screen when you try and take them apart. So get them together

I have replaced a LCD/digitizer for this phone also. This video shows how I did it. I think it is better to do it this way because in other videos I've seen, they have you disassemble parts of the phone that don't need to be. You may have to put down new adhesive on the back of the LCD. I did. One other thing, the light diffusers for the home, menu, back and search buttons usually don't come with the new LCD/digitizer so you will have to use your old ones. They aren't fun to put in. Good luck!!

HTC Letter fell out

Today the glue filled into the C that is engraved in the back of the phone came out. I'm kinda an HTC fanboy so this left me pretty upset.... My camera lens is also really scratched up. Has anyone dealt with this issue and how was it handled?

Someone else mentioned this happening. HTC offered to fix the phone which meant the owner would be without the device for ~10 days. You may look into seeing if VZW will swap it out.

Slickwraps sells lens protectors, but that's probably a moot point since it's already scratched. However, buying some protection might help prevent further damage.

Black specks on back of silk white

I received my OP6 silk white yesterday and there are a number of small black specks across the back that won't come off- it looks like a bit of dirt or something that's got trapped in the process of making the back or something. Has anyone else faced this issue? Trying to decide whether to get a replacement as even though they're small it drives me mad knowing they're there!

Everyone I've shown it to says I'm being ridiculous as they're probably less than a mm each. I suppose I don't exactly sit around staring at the back of my phone.

Be ridiculous. Its your phone. Own it. My first op6 had a small crack on the top near the notch and everyone said the same thing. But I still got it replaced.

It's basically the same as this. The black speck in that photo to the left of the camera is what I have on mine, but mine is to the right of the camera and another further down.

I would say get jt replaced while you can. But be ready to face the same issue with the replacement if it has that.
