Xatik Group, LLC is conducting some market research on Android applications and games. The results will be posted once the research has been completed so that all developers can benefit from it!
Please help us and the rest of the development community by filling out the survey. It won't take more than 5 minutes.
Feel free to leave any comments or suggestions here too. We will post the results on XDA when we are done for everyone's benefit.
Week 1 Update:
We have gotten 20 responses so far but are still looking for more! Take the survey at the link above to help out.

I have filled it when will the research be finished?
And by the way I play action games/race games, simulation games they do not fit into any named category in your survey in the first question...
Already anwered
I am pretty confused at this question
4. Would you play games where multiplayer involves passing the handset around or involves split screen?

As far as i can understand, this is not the kind of question that you can answer with yes or no. Maybe you should fix the survey a bit

Hi FreebordMAD,
We will be posting the results in a week. We will also keep the survey going until it hits 100 responses (This is the limit on the free survey monkey). We will continue to update the stats each week if we get new results.
Also we updated the selections to include Action and Other.

Hi cerilla,
Josh said he reworded the question/answer for this one to hopefully clear it up!
Thank you everyone for the input, we really appreciate it!
The OP has been updated with a link to the results from the first week.
If you haven't done so already, please help out the development community by taking our Android Market Research survey HERE. The final results will be posted for all to use.

I'd like to introduce everyone to a new website that I have created.
http://gtabfans.com
I have tried to create a website that will encompass as much information about the gTablet as possible. On this website you will find information about the firmwares, an installation guide (more to come soon, this represents a lot of work so far!), the market fix and a wiki with some very topical information.
I was getting a little tired of sifting through ages of forum posts to find out if a specific application would work, so I have created the Application and Game pages on the wiki.
I don't intend for this to take away from the community at xda-developers, I really like the atmosphere that we have created here. As such, there is no forum at gTab Fans. I simply want a nicer way of indexing the data available to us.
I am also looking for help. If you are interested in helping write guides, let me know!
I like it! Maybe it will help with the repetitive questions... Thanks for doing this....

Right now I need help getting people to stop using the app/game thread and start using the wiki. If you want to help fill in some applications that you've tried, that'd be great.
Looks good! I suggest adding section for stock TNT, for those who don't want to go the modded route.
Jim
I added this section yesterday. Good suggestion.
I'm looking for more suggestions, I will be adding TnT Lite and CyanogenMod installation guides. These should be pretty much the same.
Great Site!!
Downloading Dungeon Defenders as we speak. I had no idea about the game till I saw it in the game section.
I registered and added some games and apps that I have used on my gtab. let me know if you need any help as I am a web designer.
Gtab fan site
Great idea
Very helpfull especially for newbies like me.
I have to apolagize I tried to add some games and I think I may have accidentally deleted some info.
I am obviously not a programmer but if there is anything i can help with let me know.
Wyngnut
No worries, that's what wiki history is for
I'll probably code a php or python script that lets users add a game and it just stores it somewhere in a database and then I can add them in batches.
This would give the users who feel comfortable editing the wiki directly that option and the form for people who aren't so comfortable.
Thanks
Yeah I went back and It was corrected so I added games and didn't screw anything up this time. I will keep updating it and checking it. I am curious to see if there are any more unreal engine games like Dungeon Defenders on the horizon.
Wyngnut
We now have a game/application form. Simply fill out the fields and I'll post it to the Wiki after I make sure no one was abusing it.
Thanks! Great site.
Man awesome site....It was just what I personally needed to decide on what firmware to switch too, I just got done flashing my g tab to tnt lite 2.2 then 3.1, but after seeing the write up on Vegan, I had to flash to it and man if anyone is deciding, IMHO Vegan is amazing....so much faster than tnt and has soft tab buttons for the home, back and options button so u no longer have to struggle or mod your tab find them again what a great website and idea. Really has the most common things that will help out newbs like myself, great job and keep up the good work, I would offer to help but being new I don't know how much help I would be, but if I can be any help email me at [email protected]
Thanks for all the positive comments!
Curious but what's wrong w/ the tegratab wiki? http://wiki.tegratab.com/index.php/Main_Page
Seems like you have all the same sections, accessories, roms, apps, etc wouldn't want people to call us 'fragmented' now would ya .
This wiki was created as more of a Games/Apps "database" than anything.. I agree, the tetratab wiki is quite good.
I like the idea of having a quick reference to what can and can't run on the Gtab. I've added a few games that I know work on Vegan B5.
Sorry if it's been asked but is there a way to register to the site. Be nice to avoid using Capatcha (sp?)
This is a promo app that plays Devine's 1st single, "We Fail" , off their first album titled "14 Steps to Stone"
: : : DEVINE : : :
Devine is an American heavy metal / Hard Rock Band blending elements of Rock, Hard Core, Metal, and Hip-Hop. However, this band is unique for more than just their sound but also in their peculiar arrangement. The band not only remains spread out over the United States but for nearly a year, and after a completed recording no one in the band had ever been in the same room!

This app was created in App Inventor because I have no idea what im doing but it does the job of letting people hear them and getting the word out lol
If anyone has a marketplace account and is willing to post this on the market for free then let me know!
Why would you bother to come on the Internet to post if your gonna hate?... {Edit: good to see the hateful post's deleted}
The basic principle of it is pretty great actually; I'd love to have a couple of my songs (per say) featured in a app that can be deleted, instead of having people download my song's & then have it get lost in their folders. They can delete it if they hate it with ease, or have a link in the app to your iTunes/Music page if they like it.
Everyone...
Just because a project here doesn't include you in the scope of people that it might be relevant to, that's no reason to come bashing those who created it or who are interested in it. If it's not for you, just move along....
oh god i'm embarrassed to have ever heard this

Can I just say that if you don't want feedback or opinions, constructive or otherwise, then a forum really isn't the place to be announcing your app.
I thought this forum was a place devs/users could gain feedback and discuss apps, if you aren't prepared to take the good with the bad then why post?

Because this is for people to offer constructive criticisms about the app, not needlessly hateful comments. Saying "this app sucks because i don't like the music" is not helpful in the slightest. We are supposed to be rating the app, not necessarily the music.
By the way, this is a brilliant idea for an app. I think NYGraFFit1 put it best

I was going to offer to throw it on the market for you, but I'm pretty sure you can't with AppInventor apps (I'm not sure, I'll look into it). I know you at least didn't used to be able to, but things may have changed.

That guy seemed to have put his app on the market somehow and he did his in app inventor too, so it is possible?
Hi guys.
A lot of developers that create some apps are having a problem of advertising them and getting feedback from users (me included). So I think we should help each other by installing, testing, rating and reviewing each other's apps. So any one of you who have their app (with small number of downloads) post it here (google play link) and I will try it and publish a rating and a comment on Google Play.
I don't ask you to do the same and I will do it whether you try my application or not. If you do the same I will be very grateful.
Link to my app: Quote Box v1.1
Thank you.
P.S. You'll get your rating and review as soon as I see it here.
I've released my first app on the market called Select Who? It's an alternative to who draws the shortest straw, coin toss, rolling the dice and spin the bottle.
Everybody puts their finger on the screen and the app will then select one of these at random.
I apologise ahead of time about the adverts I know they are a bit intrusive, I'm trying to think of an alternative.
I would love to get some honest feedback from you about it and any improvements I can make.
Select Who?
I think this thread is a great idea.
I actually run an Android YouTube channel and blog site.
Although i might not be interested in every app idea that may come to this thread, i am more than willing to look at every app and possibly do a great review on it on my channel and site.
In fact i have developers email me all the time to review their apps.
Mostly because it has increased download numbers and a few have reported up to 40% increases in sales the day i post my reviews =)
But i am pretty particular about the app's that i review for my viewers. So don't be offended if i don't review your app =)
You can either email me at [email protected], send me a PM here on XDA or PM me on YouTube.
Good luck to all the dev's =)

Hey, I tried your app.
This is what I wrote: "It's very good idea but It only works for two finger for me. Fix that and I will give 5 stars."
Also maybe to work a little bit on a layout to attract more people, but if you fix "the fingers thing" I will give you 5 stars. Only two fingers recognized on my HTC Desire.
Cheers.

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately this is due to the desire not having true multitouch and only support dual-touch multitouch. I will work on the layout. And left you a review for you app as well

hey folks,
I started a new blog dedicated to Android gaming news and reviews. I know what you're probably thinking, yet another gaming blog. Even so, I would love for you guys to just take a peak. It's called The Android Arcade. I know there have been folks trying to start up a blog but fail to make it through their first month but my team and I are seeing this to the end. I have staffed the site with great writers and we publish articles at least twice in a day (more as folks start discovering us).
We have also created a dedicated game section where you can quickly see which games are worth your time. Think of it as a curation of the noteworthy games. The list is scarce at the moment but we'll be adding a lot more soon. The game section could be found at:
http://games.theandroidarcade.com
So I hope you guys stop by and check us out. If you have any suggestions or games you'd like us to cover, please let u know. A phone/tablet app will be released in the next couple months
Cheers!
I've seen your posts on /r/Gaming every now and then. Keep it up, man! I check every one of your posts! My username on Reddit is Noontoker17.
Not very professional, I know.
I appreciate the support. We like the /r/androidgaming subreddit to be sure to check us out there too!
Yeah, that's what I meant. /r/AndroidGaming. Whoops.
Looks a lot more professional than Droid Gamers
Hey, I've got a few games up on the Play Store. Two of them are in my sig. Any chance of them getting coverage on your new blog?
Be sure to hit the contact us button on the site to submit games. Thanks!!

Looks good - you might want to consider doing percentages and recommendations. Works really well the way they do it on theregister.co.uk and when the stick a "recommended" sticker you take note - especially if you're covering a large number of games.
Always good to have some more decent reviews!

Hello there, good people of XDA!
I'm not really sure if this is best suited here or in "Off-topic", but since it is phone-related, I figured I'd give it a go here.
It's a short survey about how you use your smartphone, and any help would be greatly appreciated. It's completely anonymous, as all I ask for is your age and gender.
For anyone wondering, it's for an contextual analysis about people and their smartphone usage, and it will be used as reference for my exam in consumer sociology.
Thank you for any help, and give me a head ups if it is better suited for another board.
Link for survey:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BY2Q33Y
EDIT:
I've, shamelessly, added another more in-depth survey, where you have to type in quite a few of the answers. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to complete, and would be of great help for me. The first few questions are pretty similar, but the last few are, as I said, a bit more in-depth. There's no need to take them both, and you can chose for yourself which one you want to give a go. I'm happy either way.

Just took it. One problem though is that question 7 implies that everyone is in school, so I don't know how you will differentiate between people who use their phones in school who chose 1 and people who are not in school who chose 1 for that reason.

Yeah, I guess I could have done that part differently. Actually, this go for a few of the questions. But people can just chose "1", for the things that don't apply for them, and I'll take it into account when analyzing the answers.
I can only have 10 questions before i have to start paying for the service, so i had to make the survey a bit more compact than what would be optimal. I could have used Google docs or something else for the survey, but i feel surveymonkey is pretty easy to use when analyzing the answers compared to many other services.
Anyways, thanks for helping out guys! I still need more answers, so keep'em coming! :good:
