Hi @ all from Italy! Sorry for my bad english and for this post here...but i have 0 messages and i can't post in Development Section.
I have HTC ChaCha italian TIM 1.57.903.3 brand. I have S-OFF, root access, and CMW Recovery.
QUESTION: if i want unbrand it and install ota 1.54.401.2 from this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1361595
I must:
- uninstall CMW Recovery and install stock recovery
- install fresh ota 1.33.401.1 unbrand
- install fresh ota 1.54.401.2 unbrand
all right? passages 1 and 2 must be do in sequence or i can do passage 1 OR passage 2?
other question: if i have some problems can i return to my original ota 1.57.903.3 tim brand? How? Where can i find it? Is possibile that i see this ota on htcdev.com site with ruu file?
Thanks for your help and your development work!
If you are S-OFF and you have CWM you can just flash a new ROM without any other steps. Simply put the .zip on the SD then select install update from SD and then select choose .zip from SD card.
Remember to wipe data/cache/dalvik-cache before, especially when switching between ROMs.
Also, to return to your previous ROM you'll need a nandroid backup from CWM.
Hi, thanks for your reply! Other idea:
Can i use the fresh cwm 1.54.401.2 backup of this thread (last link of post...)?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1361595
I restore this backup and i have a fresh and clean 1.54.401.2 image...right? Without SU and root enable...right?
And for backup my actually italian tim brand version i make a backup from cwm recovery yes...
Good idea?

Hi everyone, first I want to appologise in advance for my noob question,
I have a LG E-900 (optimus 7) from Vodafone Italy, yestarday I flash a Original ROM but unbranded (the one from europe found here on the LG Optimus 7 section), the thing is after I flash this ROM I can't manage to get the Mango update anymore, when I try to update to 7712 everything goes well, it downloads the update but just wont install....
Now my question is: I have a full backup from my original ROM (the one that was on the phone when I buy it), is it safe to restore that backup keeping in mind that now the phone has a different ROM?
Thanks in advance.
Normally if you restore a backup it overwrites the ROM completly if you made the backup right.
And another Question about restoring a backup:
If I made made my phone HSPL and flashed a custom rom
do I have to OSPL the phone to restore a backup i made of my original ROM?

I have the same question... If I have DFT RTM MANGO with HSPL or RSPL, Can I restore my backup of orginal firmware?
you can try restore the worst thing that could happen is it would be unable to restore in the event that happens u need to flash original rom... when having hspl u can flash stock roms as they do include ospl(which will flash and remove hspl) but u cannot flash mozart 4.xx or any ruu mango roms while having rspl/hspl or it will ruin phone !
Hi. I rooted my phone with this tool: http://www.unlockroot.com/
I wiped my current android and tried to install a rom (not matter what rom i try, it's stock on the HTC logo when booting)
A nandroid/cwm backup might be able to fix the problem (I'm not sure) but i don't got one, and it would be very appreciated if someone could take a backup and upload it
Do you mean you need to flash back some stock ROM you had on the phone before wiping the data?
What about to flash (via CWM) some of the pre-rooted stock ROMs available here:

Try to run an RUU and then put you costum roms on you´re device again
I prefer this RUU "RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.1_Radio_20.28b.30.0805U_38.03.02.11_M_release_177977_signed".
I've got to sell my Sensation XE. I've done S-OFF, perm root, 4ext recovery, firmware update to install ICS by Android Revolution HD. Now I would like to delete perm root and install a stock rom, so the person that buy my phone can do OTA update without provlems. How can I achieve this? Thank you

stock recovery image file needed
Hi, needing a bit of help here to restore stock recovery on my Sensation so I can catch OTA ICS update from Three uk. Phone is rooted with revolutionary custom recovery. I need a copy of image file for my software version: 1.45.771.5 so I can use Android Recovery Manager.
All help greatly appreciated!!!!
Any stock recovery should do the job, it doesn't matter whether it's from a 3 ROM or not.
Can your not stick the OTA .zip on your SD card and flash it via the custom recovery, though? I've done that via CWM on a couple of other phones.
Thanks for the reply Rusty, unfortunately had no luck using both methods you suggest, must be doing something wrong
Hi!
I have CWM 6.0.3.1, and I want to upgrade it to the last one, 6.0.4.8.
Actually I have unlocked phone, with S-oFF and HBOOT 2.15.00.
I have read a lot of guide and I installed RomManager from http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager, and a file called recovery-clockwork-touch.img.
I've installed the APK, and it says I can upgrade my CMW. But when I do it, it's going to upgrade the normal version, and if I try to set on touch version it ask me to buy it.
But I've already downloaded it. How can I install this .img file?
Do I have to install the .img file from the old version of CWM?
There's no guide on CWM website... :-/
Solved.
I've installed Flashify... a couple of tap and my CWM is updated!
Hi!
I would like to know if it is possible to restore the 4.4.4 kit kat backup on a 5.1. lollipop system. So basically i would like to update to 5.1 but then I may want to revert back to 4.4.4 with the back up of recovery's 4.4.4 (which is stored on a memory card) Is it possible? Is there a root out for 5.1 yet? please help me if you can.
EDIT:
Here is the solution how to root and install recovery on .368 firmware:
http://techbeasts.com/2015/09/18/ro...ria-z1-compact-android-511-146a0368-firmware/
This is how you create your own FTF firmware with XperiFirm and FlashTool:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/08/1...re-files-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool-guide/
This is how you make a pre rooted, flashable zip:

I hope everything is clear now. I followed the steps above and it is working fine.

you can update to 5.1 but use a prerooted firmware with recovery included, don t flash official cause you will not be able to root it and install recovery.
i reverted between kit kat and lollipop many times myself,no prob.
as long as you have a recovery installed i don t thing you will have a problem.
of course make a back up,in case you want back.
now i noticed you post in the wrong section, should be moved in questions and answers

that´s wrong - you can root LP FW with that TOOL from our genius dev @munjeni.
You only had to unlock the bootloader.
Do I need a custom recovery for flashing the new 5.1.1 firmware? I mean do I need the specific XZ Dual Recovery or can I use the recovery which was installed automatically after rooting?

you say that you made a backup of 4.4.4,right?
you entered recovery so you did it either with TWRP or CWM.TWRP and CWM are both recoveries.
you can flash pre rooted firmware and restore backups with both of them,i just prefer better and suggest TWRP.
remember that if you want to restore your back up you need to do it with the same recovery you made it,i think that TWRP cant restore backups made with CWM and vice-versa.
anyway, you can easily find what backup you have if you find the folders named TWRP and CLOCKWORK or CWM in your external or internal storage, back up files is about 4gb size.
how to install now:
1.reboot your phone and when your led light blink press volume down key to enter TWRP recovery.if it gets you in CWM reboot again and when led blink press volume up,so you enter TWRP recovery.
2.now you are in TWRP you press WIPE on the top right box.then drug the slider at the bottom SWIPE TO FACTORY RESET
3.press back button annd shoose install
4.find your prerooted zip,on the top centre under SELECT ZIP TO INSTALL,is STORAGE internal or external sd card
5.install zip:good:
PS:make a fresh backup before you start
Thank you so much. Finally someone explained it normally.
Can someone give me a link where I can find pre rooted 5.1 Rom as a zip file for my Z1 compact? It would also be important to be central europe, unbranded or telekom. Thank you in advance!
You can do one yourself.
I don't have URLs till hands but those are easy to find on forum.
