[Q] Automatic date and time - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Updated to leaked ICS and loving it, only issue I have is the auto date and time isn't working. I have it checked and it will work for about 1-2 hours then it completely messes up and isn't even close to being accurate, so I manually set the clock and my texts will use random times. Like I sent my wife a txt at 9:49am and then when she replied it said she replied at 9am not 10am. It is weird and annoying but not a huge issue. Just really curious if anyone else was having this problem.
I haven't done any factory resets at all since flashing it and wanted to post and ask about it before I did as I do have everything set up now lol.
Thanks

I had the same issue... for some reason though, it disappeared after the first day of using ICS.

known issue. Current fix is to disable it lol.

Make sure your time zone is for where you live, I ran into this today. I fixed it 12 hours ago and still working properly with auto update on

I had this issue a few times. Factory data reset and reflashing didn't help at all. I even used the super wipe script through cwm recovery. I actually called att about it and soon after it started working fine. Course I told them it was gingerbread... Said they reset my phone to the tower or something along those lines.
But my issue was I couldn't check to see how much data I used through the att app cause it thought the date was off. But when I enabled auto time/date/ time zone it would show some crazy time. Like you said really annoying.....

Had same issue on my sisters phone. We just reset to factory about 4 times after that problem didn't resume. Hope that helps.

I had this xame thing as well. To fix I disable automatic update of time and then ensure I was on cell data then access any web related app. Once done I turned auto back on amd boon the time updated. The key is to make a connection to att.

what worked for me was to uncheck the auto time zone, choose it manually, and then check it back to auto... never got changed again.
ps: darn... this captcha-type verification on every post made from newbie accounts is really challenging me . 3rd time trying to post this, let's hope I nail it this time!

Your method works... as a side note newb accounts have that? That sux. I vaguely recall a post timer too, which is a pain. Senior members rock!!

I can confirm that this method worked for me on AT&T, though I also rebooted in the middle. I never got auto update to work while I was roaming out of the country last week.

[Q] WiFi calling on EaglesBlood - seems to be stuck...?

I just fresh flashed to EaglesBlood
WiFi calling seems to be stuck. It says "enabling" but it's stuck on this forever.
I did a reset (just in case) - didn't fix it
any thoughts?
Thanks!!!
Wifi calling is notoriously bad. It will work fine for some and barely ever work for others. My completely stock 2.3.3 had the same problem time and time again, as does my phone in its current setup. I believe the problem is external.

Thank you. That's so odd, during the night (did you notice XDA was down for maintenance?) i switched to Weapon ROM and the WiFi issue persists. Yet my wife's phone, the Vibrant, stock rom of course, does the WiFi thing every time and right on the money. Damn it LG!
I think I remember reading that it was having trouble switching DNS servers when needed or something along those lines. I found plenty of feedback on these forums if you want to do a quick search and see if you can dig anything up.
(Yeah, I noticed the forums went down for a bit. I was in the middle of something at the time and really needed links!)

Problem with time being incorrect

Anyone else having this? The time on my phone is reading incorrect by about 10 mins. I am using the stock clock widget and under settings it is set to use network determined time or somethingike that.
Any ideas?

Try selecting your city and country, i it desnt work you should probably just do a factory reset.
or just set the time manually...why HR just for that ffs?
I'm using ClockSync from the Play Store.

I have got the same problem. Over the day the time gets an offset of around 3 seconds. After I had it on the charger over night (and ONLY if it was on the charger) the time of the phone is over 10 minutes behind the real time. I already disabled using the network time etc. but nothing helped. I don't think that this is a hardware failure.
I've got the same problem. Last night even my manually set time changed. Really strange.
Sent from my HTC One S using XDA
same problem here - seems to be related to charging over night, going to test.
any apps that have recently been updated that have permission to change time?
have tried rolling back google movies, will see if that helps.
also i would be interested to know if everyone is o2 (i am) - might be a problem with one of the o2 bloatware apps?
what seems to have sorted mine (for the time being) is just restarting the phone, very odd but seems ok at the moment

Network time also gives me an instant offset of ~10 min
I will try the manual setting, and see how that goes.
Might give a try at ClockSync, mentioned above.
Same problem here. I can adjust the clock, but whether I use the network time or not, after a few hours to a few days it's lagging behind by about 10 minutes. It's quite annoying.

Thanks, I'll try that.
Automatic sync with that app needs root, I don't plan on rooting just yet - will probably make use of the warranty replacement because of the arc oxidation issue. Maybe the clock will work in the replacement.
no progress for me here, what an annoying bug.
reboot sets the time correct again but that's no fix!
following these steps it looks to me like a network time issue:
1. wake up with the clock 12mins slow
2. go into time settings and untick network time
3. set the correct time
4. retick network time and the clock jumps back to being wrong again
would really appreciate if anyone's got a clue on a fix
I've contacted HTC, they escalated it, I'll will forward their answer once I get it.

Hi all! Also had this bug, until checked all boxes in Date&Time settings. Try to make all automatic. For me it solved problem.

this is really strange - been staying at my girlfriends for a couple of weeks and not had this problem. so unless it a location problem (10mins walk), the only difference is ive been using a different charger overnight (htc vs kindle)
determined to figure this out
HTC told me that the update should help. For my part, it works now, although already before the update.

[Q] network time issues, Rogers

I just got my HTC One XL on Rogers netwrok, upgraded from my old SGS2. I have had a cpl little bugs that I worked out, but this one is irritating me, and I can find no answer for it.
I set my phone to network time, yet in the morning, it is off by about 15 min early. I thought maybe it was a network issue, so I just went to manual time settings, but this morning, I noticed it was again 15 min off. Checked my setting, still on manual, flipped to network, and the time stayed the same, changed to back to manual and reset to proper time, time shows as it is supposed to. Back to network, time flips to the 15 min early, and back to manual for proper time.
This was at 930 this morning, or 915 as my phone says.....now before I called Rogers at 1130 this morning, I again flipped it to network time, and the time is bang on....much like I found it yesterday.
I also checked my setting on my SGS2, and my wifes BB 9900, both set to Rogers network time, both showing the right time, yet my device if 15 min off
I don't know why, it is really annoying, and potentially detrimental since I use my phone for my alarm, but now can't trust it to make me on time.....and even more annoying, since the bloody manual time setting didn't even stick, it to changed to the wrong time.
I spoke with Rogers, they didn't have a clue, but recommended a master reset. Well, I had some wifi issues before that were corrected with the master reset, while the time issues I noticed both before, and after the reset, so it apparently did nothing for me there...besides, until I root this device, I don't really want to go resetting anymore, too much of a pain in the a$$ to put it all back together again
Please help, it is really annoying.
I just noticed this too except mine has been delayed 3-5mins. However, it seems to correct it itself somehow but it repeats the delay once in awhile.
I had a thread on here for same thing. However it seemed to randomly stop.
For me it would happen even when manaly setting time.

I had the same issue with att model. After I did a factory reset it fixed the issue.

try flash with ruu?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
I woke up this morning and didn't hear my alarm go off...the phone was 20mins behind. What's going on here? It has to some sort of bug that causing the time to "freeze". In fact, the alarm didn't go off at all because it jumped to the correct time a few minutes after I turned on the phone!
WOW! I'm so glad I saw this thread, i thought i was going CRAZY.
Ive missed my train in the AM 3 times now because of this issue.. I've tried Automatic and Manual time setting, and it seems like the phone is always off 7 minutes when I wake up...
Last night i set the time manually after checking it by searching "time" in google..
when i woke up this AM, i again searched for time in google, and the phone time was off by 7 minutes, AGAIN.
I've since set it to automatic, but i know this won't solve the problem..
BTW, this is on AT&T so the problem is not limited to Rogers..
nobody else out there having these issues?
have done 8 factory resets, rooted and unrooted, plus reflashed the stock ruu once as well......still no difference........getting really annoyed with this.
Time issue on AT&T with HTC OneXL
I have spoke with AT&T about this and they said I was the first to bring this to their attention. They did some network troubleshooting and after about an hour on the phone with tech support...they determined it was my phone. Funny cause I told him that to begin with! They said that a OTA was coming sometime between today (6/2) the end of next week and to try a master reset in the mean time. He said the OTA was an update to fix the wifi issue...but maybe it will also fix my time issue. He said if it didn't...I could claim insurance!....what!!!!!...A brand new phone that cant keep time and I am the one spending money to fix this!....LOL...Anyways, If the OTA doesnt fix it...I am taking it back for a full refund and a restoration of my upgrade. ...just my 2 cents

[Q] Legend 2 ICS Edition GPS Problem for Infuse

Hey guys, so I just finished up changing my infuse over to Legend 2 ICS edition and I've been playing with it for about a week and I'm having a rather large issue. Whenever I leave the gps ability enabled so that my apps can find where I am the phone has a tendency to dump battery life like there is no tomorrow but worse than that it stops sending and accepting text messages randomly while the rest of the phone continues to operate. There are no warning signs so that I know this is happening and I have to reboot the phone to get it to work again. If I leave the gps feature off this is not an issue however, this is rather useful to have running so that my apps all work. Any idea how to fix this problem?? Thanks for your time.
I've been running legend 2 for almost a couple weeks and legend before that, my gps was buggy at first-it wouldn't lock on to my location. I did a complete wipe and reinstall, then let the phone boot up and let it settle for a while before I did anything else. Haven't had any problems since

use clean wipe, I run that a few times just before I flash a rom now, haven't had any problems since I started using that.
Thanks a bunch I'll try that out and get back to you on if it works or not in the next couple of days.
Thanks
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, work had me pretty tied up for a while. Thanks for the help everything seems to be working fine for the most part now. I need to reboot every once and a while due to overheating but I think thats just the fact that the phone is adjusting to the new ROM. Thanks again for the help.

Hmmm, the phone shouldn't be overheating at all, do you do any tibu system restores? I've had an app cause an overheating problem before. One thing I've learned is when you do allot of flashing, checking out different roms or themes, its good to just do an odin or hemdall flash back to stock that has repartitioning.
It gives you a fresh start.
TiBu
I have done TiBu on the phone however I did have to flash it back to stock with odin partway through flashing this rom the second time because I bricked the phone, I'm still at a loss because I need to restart the phone usually once a day because it stops accepting and sending text messages without warning while everything else still works. It's kinda weird, I've been chalking it up to the fact that its a new rom and the phone needed to get used to it but it doesn't seem that way anymore.

Still having issues
Ok so I'm still having an over heating issue and my phone refuses to send or recieve texts for periods of time. I'm going to delete a couple of apps to see if they're causing the problem. If that doesn't work any chance that I'm having a hardware issue with the phone, it wouldn't be the first time I've had issues this would be my 5th replacement due to hardware issues in the phone.

No connection other than wifi, need help

Ok so first a little back ground... I have an at&t skyrocket, rooted and unlocked running gb on the t-mobile network. I have also flashed the blaze radio and it was working great. All of a sudden last night I have no Internet unless I am on wifi. I have good signal strength, batt is charged, tried several areas, wife's stock blaze phone is working perfectly so it's not the network. I noticed yesterday I started having issues after a spam email was open while I was trying to delete it. After that I had several missed texts, mms not working. I down loaded 2 anti viruses and neither came up with anything. I don't want to wipe the phone unless it's my last option, is there anyway to tell if my internet connection is being blocked? Maybe that spam email has hijacked my connection? When I check the widget I have for network, it's green and shows Tmobile 4g, is there anyway to tell if I do have network connectivity and it's just blocked?

You might want to take a look at your APN settings and make sure nothing malicious has messed around with them.
Mine quit working one time and I bout pulled my hair out trying to figure out what was going on. As it turns out, something had changed my APN to use a proxy server. Once I removed that one setting from the APN it started working again.

You can always try an "in place" flash of the ROM that your are currently running. Simply flash it with only cache and dalvik cache wipes and see if that clears up the problem. If you have heavily modified your setup you will lose the mods, but that should fix the problem. I don't really think that the spam email you received, has anything to do with the problem you are experiencing. I am not a big believer in coincidence but this is an exception. I think it was just the luck of the draw that it started acting up after you received the spam email. I could be wrong, but in either case the in place flash should clear up the problem.
