Sleep mode - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I have bluetooth in my car and I stream pandora from my phone while im driving. I have juice defender installed and I disable it cause the phone is plugged in. Every time the phone goes into sleep mode, I loose the bluetooth connection and juice defender turns back on. Is there a way to have the phone stay out of sleep mode and stay active while its plugged in? Ive tried looking for that feature but I cant seem to find it. Any help would be great.

screen on while charging, also try freezing juice defender in titaniu rebooting trying again. JD has been known to be very problematic

Screen Display Program Needed

I tried search on a few sites (mostly broke links) for a small app that will turn off the display of my phone but have the device and everything still running. If I let the screen go off automatically it disconnects my wifi and programs that are currently running. I would like to have this as a program so I can enable it only when its needed.
Use S2U2, and set it to display off, instead of power off, if you wan't to keep wifi on.
S2U2 doesn't have a display off only feature atleast not in version 1.00. The coloset then was blank screen which doesn't help since it leaves the screen on still.
Not sure of anything else, except psShutXP, either way your going to drain your battry. Keeping the phone on with wifi prob isn't going to work very well, make sure you keep a few spare charged batteries, an AC charger, and car charger.

Yeah I know but working on a project here. Even with wifi constantly going it still gives me over 4 hrs of continous use. So with the display off I may be able to stretch it to close to 6hrs.
Ok, use psShutXP (it's a great little addition if you don't already have it installed), it replicates the XP shut down prompt, it also creates a link to only turn off the display in your start menu directory.
You can find it here, it's also skinnable:

Airplane mode vs Juice Defender

So I still get about 2%-5% battery drain an hour with Juice Defender when I'm not even touching my phone. My understanding is that it shuts of your data and radio when the screen shuts off, and then reenables it when you "wake up" and turn on your phone screen again. This is unacceptable. This get's worse when I browse the internet and I lose 10-20% an hour doing this activity. I have to recharge almost 3 times in a day at coffee shops inorder for my phone not to die by the time I commute home on the bus.
I have noticed that this phone could be practical like the last generation of smartphones from 2007-2009 which browse the web, play games and videos, make calls and text and still hold a charge for 2-3 days, if there was a way to enable airplane mode but at the same time recieve calls.
I have auto airplane mode installed and it enables airplane mode when my screen shuts off, and then disables it when my screen turns on. Although I can't recieve calls my battery does not drain at all when I airplane mode is enabled.
So my questions are, what's the difference between Juice Defender and Airplane mode? What Data and radio does both turn off, since Juice defender still "bleeds" battery energy when the phone is not even touched, while airplane mode doesn't. And is there a way to auto enable airplane mode when it sleeps, yet still recieve incoming calls?
Airplane mode shuts down all modem and radio functions, which blocks calls, data, texts and wifi.. Everything.
Juice defender only blocks of data connectivity, disabling syncing, and all edge/3g/4g.
I'm not sure how much juice defender truly helps, but I definitely would use it instead of airplane mode where I lose every single call and text.
Sent from my G2x running Bionix 2 with the power of Trinity.
How do you get 3-5% battery drain per hour on Juice Defender?
I get 1% drain in 6 hours with phone on standby which means I can still get phone calls and text.
There are 3 versions of Juice Defender (free, plus, ultimate). I am using the ultimate edition with the profile set to "Extreme" and all my apps configured in the "Configure apps" section. In the Extreme setting, my wifi and data is stopped when Juice Defender is enabled. I just disable Juice Defender when I need wifi or data.
Juice Defender doesn't work by itself after you just download the app. You have to go in and configure the settings.
I also use Advance Task Manager widget (JuiceDefender already unchecked from kill list of the application). before I turn off the screen of my phone.

[Q] Power Saving Mode question

Have a Rogers SGS2 LTE. I have power saving mode enabled in the settings. It comes on at 30%, and shuts of wifi and bluetooth if not connected, dims the screen and reduces the screen time-out to 15 seconds.
My question is this. Last night it went on at about 9 pm which was fine, and power lasted til I went to bed. In the morning after charging, the time-out is still at 15% and the bluetooth is still off. Does the power-saving mode not change the settings back to the original once the power is over the threshold, in my case 30%?
Secondly, if I'm using a product like Juice Defender, should I be disabling the built-in power-saving mode and letting JD do it's work.
Thanks
Harry
i just got a Skyrocket and also noticed the green mode doesnt undo itself upon charging, on 2.3.6. Annoying! i changed my setting to 10%
Ideally you should only have one app managing low power conditions. Avoids any chance of conflict. If you're going to stick with juice defender, use it by itself.
Keep in mind sometimes settings get messed up. Once or twice over a long span isn't too bad. Something messing up more than that likely has an app forcing undesirable settings.

turning wifi automatically off

I have tried a few auto turn off apps on my transformer while screen is off but WIFI still stays on. These Apps work well on My Samsung galaxy.
Another thing I noticed is that everytime I set the WIFI disconnect policy to turn off wifi when screen is off. The setting goes back to "never". Not sure how it gets reset, and maybe thats why these apps do not work.
Any ideas?
revolver parts wit revolver rom, the revolver parts app let you turn of wifi automatic
I am on stock rom for now, until I read thru all of the forum and get comfortable with switching rom. I am rooted atleast and have CWM installed.
So is there any other app?
Auto airplane mode from the market. It turned off for me.
Try with Tasker
will try auto airplane mode but I need something that turns off wifi when screen goes off.
Also, afraid to buy tasker before I know it works.

Auto Airplane Mode will turn WiFi off when screen shut off.
I use it, work great. The one I use for some reason is not in the market any more
but there are others.
TRIED auto airplane and did not work.
I think the issue is that something always changes the setting to never turn wifi off . Instead of what I keep on setting it to disable wifi when screen is off.
Is there a app that is changing the wifi policy settings>?
green power app fixed my problem. found this out in another thread.
I'm using tasker with a profile to turn airplane mode on 5 minutes after display goes down. It doesn't sleep if there are certain apps which require internet connection (tunein radio for example) and turns off airplane mode for 1 minute every 30 minutes.
I'd never used tasker before, i own an Android phone too, but i found it simply amazing!
Seems like you have an app that wants to keep wifi on. If I were you, I'd try to get to the bottom of this and figure out which app is causing this issue to occur. In fact, the culprit sounds fishy.

[Q] [REQUEST] Advice on permanently turning off WiFi

Hi guys, i noticed an irritating problem with my One S after a few days of usage. My WiFi turns on at random, and remains on when my phone is in sleep mode. This occurs when I have 3G on. I have turned off using WiFi in sleep mode.
Anything else I can do? I feel like this takes a toll on my battery life.
I wouldn't worry too much about wifi if you just got the phone.
While its connected it shouldn't use up the battery. Afaik
It's the searching that uses battery.
yeah my wifi is on 24/7 i dont experience any drain through it..
you could put a toggle widget on one of your screens to turn it on / off.
it shouldnt be switching itself on it you manually turned it off
But it does exactly that! It turns itself on even after I have manually toggled it off. irritating as it searches for open networks even if I have data on. How do I resolve this hmmm
Maybe Tasker would help?
