Here is a .tar file for Odin that will allow you to upgrade your phone to Android 2.2.1 Froyo! It will break your root, but you can always one click root after.
FULL GUIDE AND INSTRUCTIONS HERE
Essentials:
1. Odin in PDA slot
2. Flash away!
Download Odin TAR:

I'm using victory_8G_100528.pit
You don't need the pit with the tar file.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
This is a full Odin .tar -- no pit file needed.
Question: I had DK17 with Quantum ROM 1.5...I just flashed the .tar in Odin. No PIT file. I also unchecked F.Reset Time (I think thats what it said). I flashed correctly, right? I have 100% stock DK28 now, correct.
Also, is this the official Froyo build?
Everything seems to be working correctly. Rotation is still a tad slow though. Lock screen lag is 100% gone.

I'm less annoyed now I guess since people have already posted rooted versions etc. As long as the stuff gets to the users, in the end I'm happy. I'm giving up on getting a response from the mod, I think - this here is turning into a good thread so let's go with it.

Sorry guys, didn't seen any other thread with the .tar (because it was deleted I guess). Got mine from a source and posted it. Didn't know anyone else posted it. This one is a little different anyway, because it doesn't require the victory .pit to work.
OP can you please remind the users that they will BREAK ROOT and recovery if they flash this.... They will also not be able to install Themes........
Thank you

Hello. Just wanna share this solution to anyone who might have the same difficulty in getting a decent internet signal on their i9003.
I live about 10km away from the city where i am & the signal here is weaker. I noticed that my wife's phone which is on froyo is always better when it comes to getting a decent, stable signal & sharing it via mobile AP. Im on KPQ and my signal really sucks. Email is important to me so its been such a hassle.
I was about ready to flash froyo croms. I was looking into DarkGenMod by Namaless thread and noticed that he included a download for modems of both froyo and gingerbread. He also added that kb3 modem is the best. So i tried flashing this moden alone without flashing the whole firmware via mobile odin and gave it a try. Now i get the slightest bit of 3g signal here so much better than before- even when its raining. And its much more stable. Im on KPQ firmware with KB3 modem. Sweet. Its been 3days now. No issues so far.
Namaless's thread is found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1230263
I searched the threads for issues like this before posting by using the search area of the xda app and found no matches. If i've insulted anyone through this post please ask the mods to delete it. I just want to share this experience. Sorry also if it has been discussed before..
Big thanks to Mr. Namaless.

Thanks for sharing.
Always, you can extract the modem.bin from the .tar (you open it with a winzip, winrar, or 7zip program) and flash it by ODIN in PHONE (no PIT please, because is just one file).
Thanks dude. Didn't know that. Didnt know either that one could apply other modems of diffrnt firmwares safely.
I wonder what else i can do with what you just taught me. Hmmmn..

Okay so here is the problem I am having. I think its time to update my OS but not 100% sure on how to do so. I am still running google talk version 1.3 (I have tried to update to newer version). I have tried to update to a newer version of google talk but have had problems doing so. When I go to the playstore google talk is not even one of the apps listed. However when I go to my settings > manage applications > it seems that this is a app that was pre installed on my device. My friend said that I have to update my OS to get the newer version.
Here is some info on my phone, hope this helps...
Hardware Version: I500.04
Model Number: SCH-I500
Firmware Version: 2.3.5
Baseband Version: S:i500.04 V.EH03
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7
Build Number: SCH-I500.EH03
When I go to system updates > check new > I have no new software system updates.
When I go to system updates > status > Last known update was performed December 8th 2011// update was for Android 2.3
Please if anyone can help me out i'd greatly appreciate it!

How do think we flashed JB?And what about the file name, I doesn't even matter.. the PIT file for leaked JB is again,
