Got into my usual workflow in Titanium Backup, and guess I did something I shouldn't have on my Xoom... let it integrate all updated system apps to the ROM.
The 4 listed were Maps, Cordy, DunDef, and MyApps
I don't seem to have any issues with the first 3, but when in the Market, and hitting "My apps" I get force close of My Apps (process com.android.vending)
I have tried clearing cache & data on Market, Market Feedback Agent, Market Updater & My Apps... no help.
Is there any way to get/reinstall the original MyApps with out full a re-flash?
SOLVED: For a non destructive (ie no wipe) fix to my issue...
- First I flashed a root preped HRI66 system.img from roebeet http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995785 following his instructions.
- Second I re-flashed Tiamat kernal and modules http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=978013
- Third I re-cleared cache for Market and MyApps
- DONE. Working fine again.

Yeah. 17.9 gb free
I can install new apps from the market, but get weird notifications during download and after install. I would need to go DL something to find the exact messages.. but something like..
"1#% download"
"app already purchased or is still being processed"
"application failed"
Though the apps (a couple free ones) installed and ran fine.
rooted? 3g or wifi?
3g
v3.0.1 - Tiamat v1.3 Kernal - Rooted
do you have your sdcard?
I would just reflash. that would be the only way. if you have working sdcard i would back up all the apps to it
No way to just push that one piece eh? damn.
I figured out a non-destructive way to solve this. I am adding that info to OP in case it will help someone.
all you should have needed to do was simply uninstall the update to My Apps.that's what I did and it fixed the problem

I was unable to do that, the button was grayed out. That was the first thing I looked to do when it happened.
After the Android 2.3.5/Sense 3 update I have Google Maps at v 5.8. Market tells me there is an update, but when I select the update it just sits saying "loading" for ever. Any ideas? Thanks.
The new market is ALWAYS telling me there's an update for an app that's already up to date. Its a bug. Check the version on the market, and compare it to the version you have installed. Chances are they will match.
To stop the false update notification, go to market in manage applications, and hit 'clear data'. That should do it.
Its this bug (amongst others) Withe new market that keeps me flashing the old one back.

They are different
I'm on Maps 5.8. Market says 5.11 is available. It just never seems to find it!
Fair enough. This Web site provides several mirrors to download the apk from directly...

Sorted
Thanks for the link, but not needed. Update worked through Market this morning so maybe the Market server was having problems yesterday whereas I was suspecting the update to Android 2.3.5.

I've found clearing market cache in applications sometimes works with this prob or going into recovery and wiping cache partition should work as well
Thank you to Hashcode for Jelly Bean for the Kindle Fire!
I installed the 7/13 version today and it rocks. It's like having a brand new tablet!
I'm able to install apps through Google Play, except for some of the key Amazon apps like Kindle, MP3 player, and Appstore. I get "Unknown error code during application install: -24" error. The Amazon Mobile app for shopping installed fine. I enabled "Allow installation from unknown sources" and tried installing directly from Amazon's web site, but I got a similar and vague error that the app failed to install.
I flashed the latest Gapps with TWRP. The version of Google Play on my device is 3.7.13.
How can I install these Amazon apps successfully? I have my .mp3 music and Kindle books that I would like to access on this device. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
I am having the same issue. I cannot install the kindle app.
It's probably because amazon hasn't updated their apps yet. I'm sure they're checking the build version and seeing 16 instead of 15 in your build.prop files. I don't have a Fire or a device with JellyBean, but that's my two cents

Update: Thanks for your replies. Reverend Kyle was able to install these apps with no problem. I did a factory reset through TWRP and then was able to install these apps! I lost all the apps I installed and customizations that I made over the weekend, but no big deal to me. I can just reinstall those. But having the Kindle etc. apps was a definite need. Initially I had cleared the various cache areas after installing JB/Gapps, but I didn't do a factory reset. Now everything is working!
Thanks to Reverend Kyle for his JB installation video. That's what led me to do the factory reset.
As a newbie, I can't post his link in this reply until I have 10 posts. Just Google him if you want to see the videos.

Thanks, that worked for me as well!
I don't want to install this if the Kindle app doesn't work. Is this true, or was it solved by a factory reset (which I do before I install ROMs anyway).

Google Search app not working
I was able to successfully install the latest ROM available from Hashcode (07-13) and latest Gapps on my kindle fire. It is working very well except google search app fails to work and also the battery doesn't show charging sign when connected to electric point, though actually it charges. How can these be fixed?
Thanks.

All ROMs whether ICS or JB; have this bug if they use Hashcode's 3.0 kernel.
I had problems with the hashcode ROM, I switched to the Project Jandycane ROM and its been pretty good so far. Just flashed version 1.6 today.
AOSP JELLY BEAN 4.1.2_r1
I installed AOSP JELLY BEAN 4.1.2_r1 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765288 and found several defects.
1) sound. if set sound volume to off, an non-stop system error occurs. (fixed by this way: manufacture reset in TWRP)
2) usb. PC and KF can't detect usb connection. The battery charge is. UMS says "please plug usb cable", but cable is already pluged.
I tried it on the 3 PCs. Only one PC+KF connected, but file transfer speed is very low ~200KBps. Plus KF hangs from the begining ~2 minutes of file transfering. Hard reboot helps only. I tried everything ways to solve that problem what i found in the internet (think so =) (wipe cache(both), install androis SDK manager, drivers from Kindle_Fire_Utility_v0.9.6 and so on...).
first PC: win7/i5 3570K/asrock extr4 z77 - usb doesn't work
second PC - notebook samsung RV513-S02: win7/E-450/AMD A50M - usb doesn't work
third: win7/i5-2500/H77 - usb works but very slow (~200KBps)
if anyone has any ideas... please answer here, or email, or skype.
I'd really like to get JB on my KF, please keep updated as to your progress. Thanks

CyanogenMod Version 10-20120916-UNOFFICIAL-tf101 (now 10-20121013-UNOFFICIAL-tf101)
Problem
com.google.process.gapps stops working
What I have done so far:
Cleared cache
Cleared davlik cache
Removed Gmail account and re-added
Disabled ALL sync options
What I did to get here:
Installed TWRP (replaced Clockwork Recovery)
Installed CM10
Installed GooManager (for gapps)
Restored ALL apps I had/wanted back from the Play store
This problem occured immediately after I finished installing all apps. I dont know what one app might have caused this. I am trying to avoid a factory reset, but it seems this may not be avoidable at this current step. My question is, what else is there I can do short of a factory reset?
EDIT 1: just found out the GAPPS i am using is for 4.1.2. Would this cause the issue since i am on Android 4.1.1?
EDIT 2: Re-flashed the GAPPS from GooManager and it seems to be working better. I will update after testing it throughout my 24 hour duty.
EDIT 3: I let it go to "sleep" and when i woke it up, the process failed again.
EDIT 4: Used another version of GAPPS for Tegra. Now trebuchet crashes after going to sleep. Seems the GAPPS is the cause of the problem. Is there a stable version for my device and CM10? The latest crashes the com.process.google.gapps and the later crashes trebuchet
.
EDIT 5: After a night of troubleshooting, I found out i was using version B3 instead of V6 of CM10. Thus the Android version of 4.1.1 instead of 4.1.2. I just flashed V6 to my tablet and now I am testing the device for compatibility with the first version of GAPPS that i had installed earlier. I will post results after my tests.
EDIT 6: So far so good, everything seems to be running normally. I have not had any problems for the last five hours. I hope this fixed my problem
EDIT 7: So after waking up to my tablet sleeping, i woke it and the process failed again. Is there a compadible GAPPS zip out there somewhere?
EDIT 8: Ok, so I decided to do a factory wipe, install CM10 V6 fresh. Then install google apps filename "gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip" Seems that the google apps keeps failing. I even unchecked all the sync options and didn't put my account in until after i installed the google apps. At this time there are NO apps installed other than the default CM and GAPPS. I am officially stumped. HELP PLEASE!
EDIT 9: I did a factory wipe, no re-install of CM10 or GAPPS, just a standard wipe followed by clearing both caches. Upon reboot it wanted my credentials for google. Seems to be working ok, meaning it GAPPS is not crashing at this current moment. However, it has dropped WiFi on me while it went to sleep and came back. I told it to not turn WiFi off when it sleeps, but alas, it seems to be broken. Also, it lockes up randomly, and the only way to recover is to hold the power button to turn it off and then reboot. Thoughts?
EDIT 10: Changed to the nightlys from CM and updated to the most recent GAPPS. Everything is working great. Minus some of the things that have already been mentioned. My lock screen disappears ever so often. Also, I have noticed that when not charging, the tablet will shut down at 49% when sleeping. I don't know if that is a feature of the CM10, but it is annoying. I have yet to have any random lock ups, but some of my apps won't work anymore. I have noticed that some apps will work one moment, the next it will have a video failure, but the sound will continue and the process will continue. Just the video display will be stuck on one image. For example, Jetpack Joyride does this. Also, Song Pop Free will not work, among some other apps. So, I guess I have to wait for a Jelly Bean update for some of these apps.
I've had a similar issue with gapps, usual provoked by accessing gmail or maps however I did have the same issue with the stock rom.

I appreciate the info, was this with ICS or Jelly Bean? I am assuming with your stock you mean ICS. Am I missing something about GAPPS? Is there a better compatible build for this?

Hi Guys
I have just installed 4.4.4 home made Wingray omni version 20141 130-1704-+0100
system boots up okay but I get, a constant Google Account Manager, and lots of Google error messages etc etc....
Is there any higher stable 5.x.x versions I can install that Gapps works without nagging messages every 10 secs or so ?
Thanks in advance
I also have the same problem with my Motorola Xoom MZ604, that did not happen before. I have installed all possible rooms, but the same message appears to me continuously and I have no way to solve it. Is there anyone who has the solution ?.
Thank you.
same problem here :S tested all the roms
stock 4.2.2 bigpart 4.4.4
everyone starts giving google processes erros :S
i thought it was just my problem could it be some google update ?
since doesnt happen if i dont choose to update the apps
It's the Google Play Services. Download the 10.0.84 version of the APK, install it and it should work fine.
Only problem is that I cannot stop it from updating to latest version. Some say that disableing auto updates in Play Store stops it from updating, for me it doesn't work.
hi guys, i tried to download new gapps from open gapps ARM>Android 4.4>any version and flash again through TWRP ROM and gapps but before that wipe system, cache, dalvik and data.
it also does nor work
Hey guys,
I'm in the same boat. I thought there must have been an issue with an update, I was on CyanogenMod KitKat so, after wiping caches/updates/data I decided to go for a Marshmallow ROM (LineageOS). Same issue, only now it causes the setup wizard to take forever as Google Play Services keeps crashing while checking connectivity. I then jumped to a Lollipop ROM and had the same issue.
So, 3 ROMS, 3 broken Google Play Services. Do you think there will be an update to Gapps which will correct this? Or will I have to find an older version of Gapps to get functionality back? I did try removing the updated before I wiped and started again to no avail but perhaps I missed an app?

Same here.
I read a few threads where some created files to stop GPS being updated and updating the correct Google play services APK but it still kept crashing.
If anyone finds a way please post up - the xoom was handed to our young bloke and he is missing it heaps.
If not - then time to bin a perfectly good tab and get a new one - as per googles plans

as far as I understand the problem... yes. But I am no dev so I couldn't say for 100% sure.
If you are going where I think you are - going back to the last of the stock rom versions, it might be a good idea.
I am going to try one or two more before doing that myself

this week my son lost his galaxy tab . so i ordered a new charger for my xoom this week and its stock we have not used it in over a year , and we have the same issue almost all apps crash .
Same issue with Xoom Stingray (4G) running stock Jelly Bean. Hadn't used it for over a year after Chrome stopped working in 2015 after some Google security update. Decided to get it out of storage to try to flash KitKat on it to see if that helped and after I updated the stock Jelly Bean, none of the Google apps worked any more - this includes Gmail, Hangouts, Drive, Maps, etc. Note that during the mass update, I kept getting a popup to update Google Play services. Once I updated Play services, that's when the Xoom started acting up. At this point I can get Pandora to run but the system is slower than hell and keeps crashing any of these Google apps when I go to start them. What a bummer, I have a few HD docks which sounded so good for playing my music. Plus I used it as my portable "beater" as I wasn't worried about it getting a little dirty. Drats on Google for killing my precious Xoom. I still marvel at it's capabilities 7 years after it was designed.
Motorola Xoom 10.1" Wifi MZ604 Crashing
Hi I had the very same problems with crashing, after putting on a later Jelly Bean, so I went back to a total stock ROM, as it had
when it left Motorola, then let it update its self back up to 4.1.2 is the latest you get from Google with all Apps working fine
this is what I did, you this link for a guide, http://*ndroidforums.com/threads/return-your-xoom-to-stock.653230/
apologies to Admin, if I have broken any forum rules ?

Solved
hi,
i have 2 motorola xoom, wingray and everest. 2 xoom didn't work at he same time.
i solved this problem for the moment.
The problem is in services of google, launcher, Maps 9.45 and play store.
You need a ROM with ROOT.
GAPPS "before 01/01/2017"
https://github.com/opengapps/arm/releases/download/20161230/open_gapps-arm-4.4-nano-20161230.zip
Titanium Backup and Maps APK.
I flashed EOS ROM and the OPENGAPPS NANO in the EVEREST.
Don't turn on wifi. After install, install titanium backup and go to > Menu > Market > Delete links market.
Menu > Market > Market Doctor.
Select all except:
Services of google play
Play Store
Google services framework
When finish, go to copy/Restore > select launcher3, push and separate from the market.
Install Maps 9.46.
Well done! Xoom runs with all services and ok!:laugh:
Dear sinver44:
What version of Titanium Backup are you using. My version 6.0.1-389 doesn't seem to have the same settings as you described. Thanks
Hi yoshkapundrick,
My version of titanium is 7.6!
It does not work for me
I cannot delete the three google applications with titanium, because I deselect them and when I go back to the menu they appear as selected again. What can I do?
Thank you.
able to get working
Even without root, if you unupdate hangouts & maps and then undo autoupdate in the google play store. Then everything seems to work fine.
