So I downloaded the ICS leak and installed and then promptly rooted it.
I got Google Wallet to download and install(and I know the NFC works because when I had it on, the phone was reading my NFC mini BofA credit card).
What I want is to load my info into Google Wallet and get it working. Anyone figure this out yet?
We need physical secure elements (either a sim card or sd card), that supports this, neither of which we currently have. Once we get these, google wallet will function. Search feature is ur friend bud
The Galaxy Nexus has secure element built into the hardware. For us to get it they'd have to issue new sim cards with the secure element included.
Somehow I'm thinking it would take AT&T forever to do this, if it ever happens. Oh hell, it's not gonna happen...

Anyone else have a PayPal Here card reader? I tried to get it to work to no avail, the app isn't available for the Rezound so I called PayPal and spoke with a rep. After their trouble shooting he finally gave up and shipped out another reader. Same issue, it says card reader ready but doesn't actually work. I finally got the bright idea to use it on my girlfriends Nexus, works perfectly fine, so it is in fact the phone/software. Now, before we all get into an uproar, I had tried it before I went the root method, and I have tried it on both CleamROM DE/SE. I think it may be a conflict with Beats, however, I did disable it to no avail also. Anyone have any other input?
I now have 2 card readers and no phone that can use it, lol. Luckily the app allows you to "scan" or manually enter the card info.
Paypal Here
I also have a Paypal here reader that does not work. I sent an email to Paypal developer about it a couple weeks back and they said that the HTC One X is not one of the supported phones for their app yet. They also said that Google Play is allowing some phones to download it that are not compatible.
probably just a matter of adding some key codes to the keylayout files

Is this something you are able to do? If so, what do you need to do it? It's not a big deal, just more convenient to swipe the card. I can send out one of the readers as my girlfriends account just got approved and hers is in the mail. No reason for us to have 3 card readers when only 1 phone can use it, lol.
SD Card issue?

I'm having the same issue on Galaxy Nexus with AOKP. some responses on the PayPal forum from PayPal staff suggest that the issue is that their app requires a physical SD card to write settings to. I responded that I hoped this wasn't the case because so many manufacturers are moving away from physical SD cards and that plenty of apps handle this issue easily by writing to the virtual SD card... but received no reply as of yet?
Can anyone confirm or at least suggest if the SD card may in fact be issue. If so, i guess I won't be using "PayPal Here" because I'll probably be replacing my Galaxy Nexus with the Nexus 4.
1) this thread is nearly a year old
2) you are in the hox forums not the n4 forums

What does paypal reply about this issue?
I have not contacted them yet about this
this solved it for me.
I got my card reader working by lowering the volume by two clicks of the volume button. After i plugged it in and got the warning. I am using the s5.
Did you finally get this working? I am having similar problems. The PayPal phone support says if it works with 1 device it should with all unless it is the phone/tablets problem.
I have the latest os firmware for the reader 7.01 too.
Tried with Galaxy s4, Galaxy Note 5 Ipad 3 , Generic KitKat4.4.2 tablet.
Appreciate any help

So I know there is almost no way to recover it as security programs need a data connection..
Either way, not too worried about that.
I just bought the darn thing 3 weeks ago, box is sitting in front of me..
I put a facelock/lock on it, It was rooted and running EOS 2.0
What is making me sick to my stomach, is the fact someone else will be able to use it
Makes me sick..
Can they sign in with google and basically use it? Is there a way I can say xxxx model xoom was stolen and it locks the device or something?
So sad

I've heard that you can install a security app from the online Play Store you may be able to disable your Xoom remotely. I'm really sorry that it's been stolen.
only way a security app would work, would be if it had a network..
My xoom was locked, so someone would of had to format it to get it to come up and by then, any app would be erased anyway
Just sucks that these companies cannot some how incipient a unique ID for each tablet.
**** THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The app in the play store is called plan B and can be installed and used remotely. Good luck!

The best way for you to prevent someone from charging your google account is to go to google online, on another computer and change your login password. If they try to purchase an app the old password will no longer work.
Sorry to hear about this. But the is ways to own him/her like big ach said with Plan B but I also found an app called Lost Phone which you just install from Google Play site and then sign into your Google Account via the website and you can set off alarms, wipe and stuff. Try it out.
sadly all these tricks are based on the fact that they got passed my facelock and security pin.
without those, they cannot get in, there for they will have to format/reset the entire xoom to factory settings..
which means no google account anymore

just go to the site via a computer login and install apps remotely then use them to locate, wipe, or what ever else they can do, I know some that do actually give you GPS location

I did that.. but I had my xoom set for wifi while awake only.
Its not a network verizon xoom, wifi only
I did do those apps though, nothing came back
Jeez is it me or no one actually read what the guy is trying to say? You can't install an app if you don't have data connection! He bluntly says it everywhere! So your only option is to move on, since the stealer could get some one to flash a new ROM or just by relocking/unlocking the bootloader it would reset everything! Well don't think he would do that though. But factory reset will also work. Sorry for your lost buddy!
Why would they force this piece of junk on us?
First, you separate the actual cards and loyalty cards. So now I have to have two apps(Android Pay and Wallet), instead of one(Wallet). I understand Google had to make some changes at banks behest, but this could have been handled in the back end.
Second, if you have a rooted phone, you can't install it while it is rooted. Simone work around, but unneeded when Wallet worked just fine.
Third, why MUST my phone have a lock on it to use Android Pay? Wallet worked just fine with asking me for a PIN when I used it. Totally not needed.
This is a classic example of fixing something that ain't broke. They have made the payment app intolerable for me, and I will be deinstalling Wallet and if possible Android Pay, or minimum disabling it. It is a terrible app at this point, and its restrictions are deal breakers for me, and IMO render the pointless to the point of being total crap.
I can use my credit debit card just like any other normal person.
I agree
Went to use wallet today for a gift cad and didn't like my phone anymore Galaxy S4 with android incompatible. Get real! Maybe gyft is the better app.
Woth samsung pay accepting more and more banks and me finally using it, im trying to eliminate my wallet from my back pocket. The big hindrances, my drivers liscense and my business cards/insirance card, really any card thats not for money purposes. So does anyone know of a good secure app that will let me store my misc cards on? I was using CamCards but after reading reviews on its security, i deleted it and am on the hint for a new app. Thanks
Hey all.
I use Samsung pay quite a bit, and I went to set it up on my AT&T S8 Plus, and when you open the app, you click continue, and a spinning ring just comes up, and nothing ever happens. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the app. I've turned on all permissions for the app and all permissions for the Samsung Pay Framework. My device is not encrypted, I dont know anything else to try or do. Is anyone else having this issue?
I just set mine up after reading this post. No issues. I am on AT&T

well that's frustrating. were you on wifi? did you use the new sim card that came with your phone or your old one? idk if that has anything to do with it, but i always just take my sim card out of my old one and put it in the new one.
Thanks!

On wifi. My old phone does not have sim cards that fit this one. I used what came with the box. I had to register it by phone before they turned the phone to active.
I'm on AT&T as well and had no issues setting up.
Can you just put a cricket sim card in or setup with the att sim card first?
Still not sure what's going on here, but I used the SIM card that came in the box and it's still not working. It just spins once you click "start" -- I uninstalled it and downloaded the latest version from apk-mirror and when i ran it, it played a little video but then an error came up saying samsung pay isn't available when using a sim card from another country. please insert a sim card from korea......i mean wtf mate. I bought the phone from AT&T directly, so not sure what the deal is there. Anyone have any ideas for anything I can try?

I had the same problem at first. I tried restarting the app, rebooting the phone, clearing the app's cache & data, reinstalling the app, and wiping the system cache. I tried it on WiFi and on mobile data. None of that seemed to help. Then I left it alone for a couple of hours and the next time I tried, it just worked.
I have no idea what was causing the problem. I don't know if any of my efforts had a delayed result, or if the efforts were irrelevant and the problem just fixed itself. But either way, it's fine now.
Another failure, different

It still does not work on my S8+. It may have something to do with last OS update... ? All I know is, I used it for about a year with occasional odd failures, but it was reliable on my S7.
Now, it does not work at all. I called Samsung and the rep kept me on the phone for a long time, gathering details...
