froyo 3d gallary portd for android 2.1

hi guys.i am new to xda.but I brought an gift to all the people who are using android 2.1 aka eclair.if you like the gallary in froyo there is a perfect way to use it on eclair.i ported the 3d gallary in froyo to eclair.but theres a main point to remember it works only if ur mobile supports multi touch otherwise it will be just like 3d gallary on 2.1.

doesn't work... tried to install and got message "application not installed". I'm using HTC Hero.

This gallery is not from Froyo, it is a dump from Nexus One ROM...
btw: run on Desire

it runs on my htc hero (cronos droid 1.7) though the Gallery3d icon isnt showing.

why didn't it worked on ur device.

THis version of Gallery3D ROCKS! the only thing I personally would like fixed is the Gallery Icon itself. If that can be fixed, this will be the perfect Gallery 3D

I removed my other version, this is the only one I need, is there any way you could do an alternate version with the correct icon? I use ADW Launcher and with it I can have Icons without labels on my home screens, so the visual image is clutch.

Working on my acer liquid, only issue is that it keeps saying "loading" "loading albums and photos" even though every image and album has already been loaded.

hey guys despite of some bugs I hope all of u liked my app.i noticed that the open home,a home etc., home replacements which changes the icons of apps had recognized my froyo gallary app as the main app and changed the icon of my app.
so if you don't like the icon of my app then you should have open home a home etc .

alright then I will just have to try and figure out how to fix it myself, since it's the only thing that's out of place, I wouldn't even mind if say you inverted the gallery pic, but whatever that icon is, it's not a photo / graphics icon at all and that's what really annoys me.

Gallery3D Froyo Port
Ok people, since I personally didn't like the non descript icon for this version of Gallery3D I went about changing it, and for anyone who already has a version of Gallery, I went ahead and inverted the Icon for this one. I think it looks kind of cool, I hope you enjoy this little mod and please thank the original op, who made this possible. Camera does work with this one too. Just push it to /system/app.

Well, it won't install on my Galaxy S . My system partition is write protected, still searching for a way to change the permissions.
Quite new in the android scene, just got my Galaxy S a few days ago . It's rooted and i've installed a new firmware, but i can't wait to get my hands on froyo. Very nice gallery, if it would only install...

works on milestone 2.1. does anybody know what should happen, when you hit the camerabutton in the upper right corner, because the 3d gallery gets a fc just like the 2.1 ...?

[REQUEST]A themed stock messaging app?

There are plenty of themes for the messaging widget, making it more transparent or changing the colors of the buttons to access it, but the inside of the app itself is still white and uninteresting.
So, can someone please theme one? Or, if it's been done, send me to where I can find a themed stock messaging app? Maybe a black background and green text? or hell a black background and many options as to the color of the text. Just something that isn't that drab white. It doesn't go with any rom I've flashed.
If anyone can do it, thank you!!!

I think this is why people use the alternative messaging apps. Theming in handcent and Chomp SMS is built in.

1. The widget is full screen, transparent and simple. Hancent you consistently have to click on the little picture, then menu, then "all threads"...it's annoying. Also, in most themed sense roms, the widget is themed but not the app itself. So in myn's rom, everything is dark and transparent...but when you open the app, it's boring and white. It's like you're only trying to make the home screens look better and nothing else. Also, you can't theme the widgets from chomp or handcent, so unless your theme happens to look like their widgets, it looks out of place and you're boned anyway.
2. Handcent and Chomp have ads. Ads are annoying and make the product look cheap. I even paid for chompsms ads to go away and they came back. I left a strongly worded e-mail...and review...and i tell people not to get it.
3. the stock app is faster and takes up less space than the 3rd party ones and can't be uninstalled. You HAVE to have it, so why can't someone spend some time and make an app you HAVE to have look a little better?
4. Gmail, menus, the drawer launcher, the drawer itself and various other stock programs are themed all the way through, why not the messaging app too?
I would ask for the stock sense mail app too but I don't use it enough to really care. The messaging app I use 200 times a day minimum.

I love the look of the stock messaaging app in CM6 and would like to have the same thing on a sense rom. Im sure its possible some how.

devs, there's a call for a modded messaging app (not just the widget!).
Who is brave enough to heed the call? CM already has one but it's aosp, we need a sense one.

I've always wanted this also. I didn't think it was possible since no one has a themed mms.apk in their rom, so I never posted about it. I did use the cm6 version of AOSP but for some reason mms never worked. Hopefully some of the great developers on xda can get this done for us.

1) With LauncherPro plus you can have a messaging widget that displays messages from what ever messaging program you use. Its great, I love it!
2) I've never tried ChompSMS because I love Handcent and I've never once seen an advertisement except for an ad for one of their own services within the settings menu. Such a tiny infraction is something I cannot fault them for given how long I've been using their otherwise ad free app.
3) You're right on this one but its really not a concern. On my old MyTouch 3G, I worried about it, absolutely. However, given that Froyo offers the ability to install apps to the SDcard there is absolutely no reason to worry about space. Its just silly. Its akin to being worried about fitting a six pack of beer in a Suburban.
4) No clue, so I'm not going to address it.

This is a very good attempt. Hopefully you can get it to work on sense 3.5 roms. I use gtalk alot and would love to have this. Yes the message list stays empty

Yes it is empty, and does not display any new messages. It also said my launcher api was too old.

It seems that it is, for whatever reason, using an old api and therefore the launcher is not supported by lots of scrolling widgets.

Hmm, that is interesting. I have never had any trouble with any of my other scrolling widgets.

but it marks away contacts as offline contacts
and it would be good if it had some button to clear open contacts, because it still shows open chats

the apps works great with golauncherex, but is it possible to write messages directly on homescreen? that would be really a plus for this widget.

[Q] AOSP Camera for Droid Charge

Just a quick question, not sure if this is the correct place to post this. I noticed that all the ROM's with the exception of 1 all have the TW Camera app as the default camera program. I then saw that the new Eclipse ROM came out and it has the AOSP camera.
Is there a way to extract the AOSP camera app and install that into a different ROM? Not sure how the whole framework thing works. etc... thanks!

First, why would anyone want to use the AOSP Camera app? Not saying it doesn't get the job done, but compared to the stock TW Camera app, it's not very nice looking, and the last time I used it, it wasn't nearly as functional. That aside, you should just be able to replace the APK as I don't think there should be anything that will affect functionality missing, but I can't say that for certain as you may run into issues.

Isn't there a camera firmware apk? Or is this in all phones and it's just what the actual camera app uses to communicate with hardware?

Thanks Innuts. I was just curious. Maybe its just me but when I take pics in portrait mode the buttons don't rotate to portrait mode like AOSP. Also I noticed sometimes if you take a picture in portrait it doesn't rotate the image, so it looks sideways. I noticed this when taking a picture then sharing it to social website. I was just going to test both out for fun

Wouldn't an AOSP camera allow for enhanced or modded Camera apks? I know we already have some slightly modded camera apks. One thing I think would be cool is some sort of adjustment to take shots at different exposure levels automatically.
Another thing that would just be insanely cool is the ability to pull out the RAW data. Is this possible with AOSP camera, or would a camera firmware rewrite be necessary? I would be completely blown away with RAW.

I personally like the tw camera, so I pulled the camera apk and camera firmware apk from tweakstock and put them into eclipse. while I was at it I also pulled the clockpackage apk, calculator apk and the calender apk from mnml and put in eclipse a well. As you can see I like the tw apps, but I love the speed of eclipse.Don't know what the difference is but the phone opens instantly on eclipse which is something I haven't been able to get any other ROM to do. So I think I will stay with eclipse with the tw apps for now until something better comes along. Sorry to hijack the thread, just wanted to put in my two cents.

Wallpaper

So what happened to the wallpaper option?? I re-flashed my charge with the office froyo build. This then updated to gingerbread and then the new radios unlock screen. And now when I go pick a new wallpaper, I don't get the multi option anymore. Just a single cut out and it looks like utter .
I really hate this phone.

Samsung changed the Gallery app in the FP1 update. Not sure why they did it, but it was a common complaint after the update. If you're rooted and have the old Gallery app, you can replace it and reboot. You can also download an alternative gallery app from the Market, like Gallery ICS.
The Tweaked ROM also contains the old Gallery as an option.
