[BUG] DamageControl 2.06 - HTC Widgets

Anyone have a fix to get the new HTC widgets to install correctly on the new dc rom? when i install them from the market i get an error saying its incompatible or something like that. is there a fix? i searched the 2.06 thread with no luck.

they are already in the rom?? sometimes you have to go into Settings > Manage Apps > HTC Sense > Clear Data for them to show correctly

I think the OP is referring to the downloadable HTC widgets such as battery widget, etc. These will not install from the Market nor do they show up when clicking to download from the widget list to add to home. I too, would like to know a work around to install (not a different widget on the Market) because I really miss the HTC battery widget.

Oh, shoot my bad.
For some reason, the Download new HTC widgets button worked on my v2.0 rom. It showed the downloadable ones and worked on the HS

I think the widget isn't installing because it isn't an official ROM, but that is just a guess.

Could be part of the problem. However, it did install on the Eris based 2.1 roms which had very different frameworks than the Sprint based 2.1 roms. I believe that is the real problem. The Eris roms were more like the Sprint 1.5 roms framework wise.

Just wondering if anyone's found a fix for this? I miss my battery widget lol

still waiting for this myself. hopefully it will work with the release keys

froyo 3d gallary portd for android 2.1

hi guys.i am new to xda.but I brought an gift to all the people who are using android 2.1 aka eclair.if you like the gallary in froyo there is a perfect way to use it on eclair.i ported the 3d gallary in froyo to eclair.but theres a main point to remember it works only if ur mobile supports multi touch otherwise it will be just like 3d gallary on 2.1.

doesn't work... tried to install and got message "application not installed". I'm using HTC Hero.

This gallery is not from Froyo, it is a dump from Nexus One ROM...
btw: run on Desire

it runs on my htc hero (cronos droid 1.7) though the Gallery3d icon isnt showing.

THis version of Gallery3D ROCKS! the only thing I personally would like fixed is the Gallery Icon itself. If that can be fixed, this will be the perfect Gallery 3D

I removed my other version, this is the only one I need, is there any way you could do an alternate version with the correct icon? I use ADW Launcher and with it I can have Icons without labels on my home screens, so the visual image is clutch.

Working on my acer liquid, only issue is that it keeps saying "loading" "loading albums and photos" even though every image and album has already been loaded.

hey guys despite of some bugs I hope all of u liked my app.i noticed that the open home,a home etc., home replacements which changes the icons of apps had recognized my froyo gallary app as the main app and changed the icon of my app.
so if you don't like the icon of my app then you should have open home a home etc .

alright then I will just have to try and figure out how to fix it myself, since it's the only thing that's out of place, I wouldn't even mind if say you inverted the gallery pic, but whatever that icon is, it's not a photo / graphics icon at all and that's what really annoys me.

Gallery3D Froyo Port
Ok people, since I personally didn't like the non descript icon for this version of Gallery3D I went about changing it, and for anyone who already has a version of Gallery, I went ahead and inverted the Icon for this one. I think it looks kind of cool, I hope you enjoy this little mod and please thank the original op, who made this possible. Camera does work with this one too. Just push it to /system/app.

Quite new in the android scene, just got my Galaxy S a few days ago . It's rooted and i've installed a new firmware, but i can't wait to get my hands on froyo. Very nice gallery, if it would only install...

works on milestone 2.1. does anybody know what should happen, when you hit the camerabutton in the upper right corner, because the 3d gallery gets a fc just like the 2.1 ...?

[Q] Sense UI for Captivate?

Hey everybody, I have tried to search around and I have found no luck, but does anyone know if they have ported the sense ui and can you load it on the captivate? maybe a dumb question i dunno but i figured i would give it a try.

Not yet. Mostly everyone has been working on the gps issues and lag fixes.

just use Launcher Pro and then find a .apk file for fancy widget (a copy of the clock), it's not sense, but its much snappier than the stock captivate launcher and it has some HTC like widgets in the paid version, I find it very functional ^_^

Ive tried several different launchers including launcher pro but i found that i like adw launcher the best. You can download a sense theme for it from the market. I previously had samset 1.5 & 1.8 installed which includes the clock widget. After i synced to app brain i was able to reinstall it after i flashed a different rom. This is pretty much my ui of choice. It has been running great, plus you can enable horizontal swipe in the app drawer via adw settings which i find to work more smoothly. Hope that might have helped some for the time being.

Thank You! I too have been looking for a version of sense for the Captivate. This does a good job of pulling off the over all look and feel!

Another vote for the paid version of Fancy Widget. Very customizable and can be made to look just like Sense.

Sense UI isn't just a skin or launcher like TouchWiz. It actually replaces a lot of stuff in the ROM and has its own framework. You can't just "add" it to a ROM. It IS the ROM. I don't think you'll have it running on Galaxy S phone anytime soon.

Not working:
1.camera
2.phone service
3.HTC usb menu (can be fixed with a script made by dexter, and smali to some jar's)
4.Turning of the device
5.HTC's hibernate mode
6.Lockscreen( pressing power to bring the phone from standby will not get a lockscreen after like 5min, plug the device to usb cable and it should bring the lockscreen up)
7.Other things i might have forgotten.

I have been trying it out most of today. It is pretty good looking but thats about it. I find it to me too big and cluttered of a UI.
I much prefer MIUI over this. But then again, I am a sucker for simplicity.

I didnt like the miui launcher. Missing an app drawer there. Things got messy quite quickly...
for me, on the dell launcher, the recent apps widget is a huuuge win!

I installed this on my HD2 running Bluetopia 0.6.1 and ruined my process.com.htc.launcher.

Hmm. Its okay. Still buggy I think, landscape wont work on MDJ's kernel. The launcher could still use some work though dell!
EDIT: Apparently, the DPI needs to be @ 160. Landscape should work then. <3

This looks really cool, alas I noticed a difference in speed on the miui build. Great concept though. I'm using MIUI w/ launcher pro plus on it so I could keep the speed and the app drawer. I can't wait for Dell to make this thing faster!

On the whole, this is fugly. The music widget, on the other hand, is pretty awesome. Anyone know a way to use this with Launcher Pro?

Is anyone else getting a force close from the Email widget? That is the only Dell Stage widget that causes Dell Stage launcher to force closes when I tap to add an account. I tried running fix_permissions but it didn't help.
The Facebook Social widget won't sign in either. It keeps coming back with a message saying the account couldn't be verfied.

email is not shown, says to add account, i have 2 and none of them is shown.
twitter is ok here, facebook not sign in.

does this work with sense andriod releases??

Errr... if Email and facebook widgets aren't working, everything isn't working fine....
Btw, same thing here. Those two widgets don't work.

Installed on my JDMS android build and it seems to work okay, twitter logs in and basic mail sems fine.
cant use our exchange 2010 as the default exchange support in froyo doesnt support the extra security requirements we have. Ho hum.
Two things though, cant make it show up on my Mdeejay Sense build at all (home switcher doesnt see it), and I cant make it go landscape on JDMS.

Cheers for the link. I gave it a try but it seems very cumbersome and inflexible in comparison to ADW Launcher.

ICS style Lock Screen

Basically it just shows you how you can get an ICS styled Lock Screen for the Sensation! It's great and has been running really well. The article says:

1. Install app, then theme and use app to select the theme. The app will walk you through some steps to show you how to use it, but..
2. Select the Magic Lockscreen as your Home Launcher default. Then the app will ask you which launcher you want to use as your main launcher.

I use the Rosie/Sense, and I noticed that doing this the way that the app tells you kept making Sense reset every time I hit the home hey. To fix this, I use Home Switcher (free on marker) and selected "Set as default" for Rosie/Sense launcher which fooled the Magic Lockscreen into staying active when I love my phone, and fixed the issue with Sense. It actually runs very smoothly for me.
Not sure what it's like if you use another launcher if that may have problems with resetting so often either, in which case, try Home Switcher and choose set as default for your launcher.

Working on Energy Oct 22, but it's noticeably laggy. The built-in ICS lockscreen that certain ROMs like Bulletproof have is much smoother.

I would use the ICS lockscreen if it was FAST and had sharper resolution. It looks neat, but just cannot stand a laggy unlock. Is this what everyone is finding, or should I try reinstalling it?

i am using the milocker for a not-root HTC sensation 4G, and is looking awesome...the only thing that i am nitpicking is that there's very little english translation, but well some you win some you lose...

This is the way to go, closest one I've seen and more options than you'll ever need.

Here's what it looked like on my evolution, the first is a stockish look, the second is with simi clock widget. It's a paid app, but well worth the cash.
