Visual voice - Samsung Infuse 4G

Has anyone successfully ported att visual voicemail to a gingerbread or above Rom on infuse. Tried Google voice used 500 anytime minutes in 10 days.

I use YouMail, check it out,I don't appear to have any issue with it "using" my minutes... But I do have like 15,000 rollover minutes so I stopped caring a long time ago lol.

Haven't ever used AT&T's visual voicemail app. I always use Google Voice. What do you mean by Google Voice using minutes? Google Voice doesn't use any minutes when used for voicemail.

Everytime a voice mail is forwarded to google voice its causes 1 minute of anytime minutes to be burned 4 most people would not be a problem on 100 phone calls a month my wife however recieves between a hundred and two hundred phone calls a day with for job

The best part was when we were trying to figure out the magic number it was not my wife's google voice number but more of a generic google voice number as soon as we remove google voice her anytime minutes stop flying off the shelf I have the sky rockets in the visual voicemail works fine I have tried to install it on her infuse but it says it is incompatible best I can figure is that maybe it will work with a gingerbread rom my wife is against root she will be on board if I know I can get her visual voicemail without running out of minutes

I am not sure how true this is. I got a couple of vmails in the last few days on gvoice, and I don't have any minutes showing up as used.

GOOGLE VOICE... And done.
They even send you emails. Awesome, because sometimes I forget to install the app. And can get voicemails on tablet too. It's sweet.

Did you read my POST? I had google voice. I agree works great. Love it.
Problem is that everytime it forwards to google voice. It trips one minute
of my anytime (land line) minutes.
My wife gets 100's of calls a day. I can't use a call forwarding visual voice mail.
That is why I asked if anyone had successfuly used att voice mail app on a gingerbread rom. I am hoping that is the reason I can't install on her stock phone.
I have the app from my sky rocket running 2.3.5(6) and ICS 4.03 Leak

First of all, stay cool. People are only trying to help. Sometimes they might miss to read the sentence well.
You can't set up AT&T visual voice mail on your phone. I got the note that has vvm enabled on it. I put the SIM in with the AT&T cust care followed by a person from tech dept for over 45 mins with no use. It refused to work. And yes, it needs to be enabled on the network by AT&T rep, not just on phone.
For Note and Skyrocket, they enable it when you upgrade or change the phone to that. And though it was enabled on Note, it just refused to get set up on my Infuse..
Second, my wife and I use GV a lot. And unless its calls, vmails never used any of our anytime minutes.

Thanks. And I apollagize. Check your bill. The call forward uses anytime minutes. One per missed call. Not noticeable for most. And we even missed it 1st month. But then her work got crazy and so did her phone and surprise 600 anytime minutes in 5 days.
Again thanks for detailed response.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA

Kawy is correct, I have YouMail and checked my bill last night... Sure enough there are logs for call forwards at a rate of one minute. Not a big deal for me, I have thousands of roll over minutes (15K+) and a 2100 minute a month plan. I own a business and receive several dozen calls a day, I don't miss many though, but I can see how if you miss a few hundred a month how that can be a rip off.
I saw a file on the htc vivid forum that enables att visual voice mail on all GB and ics roms... Maybe you want to check that out.

Did she go to an AT&T store to do the switch, or did she switch her self? Sounds like there may be an issue with her account. I would have her call AT&T either way.

i don't see how that sounds anything like a problem with the account??

sounds like it happens often, but she is busy at work and a lot of texts to contractors (so the reply time would be pretty quick)

Just asked my 14 yr old daughter and she said hers never show up out of order. I don't text too much so I had to defer to her.
If the timestamps are correct and they are out of order that is strange. You could try gosms or handcent as I believe they simply order them as they occur.
apr. that....kids ought have an idea better then us id guess.
seems like they text a lot. my last phone i had text blocked....lol...

I have the same problem with my inspire 4g. like when I check my account balance from my bank. The text I get back from my bank is before the one I sent to my bank. It only happens when the texts are in the same minute. It also happens while testing my wife a lot.
ie
Bank 9:06am: Checking Balance: 2,000,000
Me 9:06am: Balance

Get the app in the market called SMS Time Fix, install it, run it and put a check in the box for Active and under it set the Adjustment Method to USE PHONE TIME. Works great for me! There is the occasional message that comes in out of order but for 99%, the time is correct. When you restart the phone, just go in and make sure the check in the box is for active and make sure your app killer or task manager doesn't shut it off.

Need help with voice mail (new to android) ATT inspire 4g

I'm came from the iphone 4, I would like to set up my voice mail like that... I dont even know how to set up any voice mail on my inspire running CM7... any help would be great, right now I set it up with google voice, but would love to do it through AT&T...
also any good phone locating services or apps, any one could point me to... I have had this phone for 3-4 days and I have already bought about $80 in apps! and donating... I hope the android world grows... I want to see some good high quality apps, and I am willing to pay and donate for them...

Two good locating phone apps:
1. Lookout mobile
2. Remote security
I think At&t has voicemail similar to the iPhone but you have to pay each month. Give them a call and see what they say.

I stick with google voice. It is far superior to even the iPhone visual voicemail.

ATT does have a VM similar to Google Voice. I tried it for a month. Not only did it cost me an additonal $3.99/month, but their voice-to-text notifications via SMS and Email did not work as well as Google's voice-to-text. So I discontinued that and went with Google Voice. Setting it up could not have been simpler as all I had to so was to go into my settings and choose Google Voice instead of the default option of the carrier's voice mail.
I've personally been using YouMail for the past year and a half. Extra features like voice to text cost extra. But simple visual voicemail is free. And I love the smart greetings for people to. Its been working great. That and its cross platform which is a plus for me.

Just curious, what is it about AT&T's voicemail that you prefer over Google Voice?

[Q] Sprint VVM or Gvoice for CM7 that works??

I've tried several things. and Gvoice doesnt seem to find my phone number. it keeps failing on the step to where it txts a message to gvoice to activate it.
Try YouMail plus

You mean she didn't say "who's that nice girl answering your phone ? " lol

That's probally the main reason why I use YouMail... And for me at least I rarely ever have any problems getting notifications... But another reason why I use it is that Google voice tells me that my device can't be configured. YouMail does it with one button push... So idk, lol... Plus i like the nifty caller ID thing and stuff
Sent from my PG06100 using xda premium
i have to agree it is nifty. BUT one issue i have and idk if its youmail or if its CM7 or if its the Cyclonic rom im using. but it becoming annoying is when i receive a call no matter what if they are in my contacts or not. it says would like to accept this call press 1 now.
Hmm... That's interesting... I'm gonna play around and see if i can duplicate that.. Ill edit in a bit
One quick question. Do you get the rotary answer call thing or does it just say press one to answer?
I'm still a noob at a lot of this, I'm just trying to help, if someone more knowledgeable knows, lol, they're probally better off helping... Ill still look around though, I'm trying to learn everything
Edit: well it isn't CM7 I can't even find a setting to make that happen.. And YouMail can't take calls... I'm gonna check out Cyclonic but idk, if it really is that annoying you could also do a fresh install of the rom, wipe everything, would only take maybe 10 minutes

It has to do with the provisioning or some such wording. Try to dial one these numbers, I can't remember which is the newest that will fix your issues: *282678861049 or *282679540127 listen for the stutter and then try a test call. Sorry I can't remember I'm old! LOL

yeah that second number is for sprint it tells sprint to forward your voicemail to youmail that why you get the dial 1 msg. Man been a while since i had these probs, but if you go to the youmailsupport and search there are issue fixes . Sorry to be longwinded and disregard if you don't wanna use it.
Ahh, i think i understand, i misunderstood... OK, dial 1 for voicemail... From the YouMail app hit menu-help-forward to YouMail... Maybe that will work?

Sprint MMS Issues?

Hi. Just wondering if anyone has had any MMS Issues since buying this phone. I've had several people ask me if I ever got the pictures they sent, and I just never got them. This happened on both stock and custom roms. Weird thing is, this morning I had my wife send me a test MMS and it worked. But later in the day, I didn't receive one again.
Thoughts?

I'll be tentatively getting my N5 on Monday (knock on wood), so if everything goes according to plan I'll test MMS right away and let you know.
I get them but I'm not always notified that a new message exists. Seems to be group MMS messages I'm not receiving notifications for. This is probably more of a Hangouts issue than a Sprint issue tho.
The problem is more unicorns exist in the world than sprint cell towers

I'm on sprint and up until like 3 hours ago, my MMS was working great... But now for some reason, I can't send any but can still receive them no problem. It's pretty irritating. I haven't changed anything yet they just stopped working. Using textra (and have been since I got the phone two weeks ago)

Turn data on to receive mms. And I hope this thread will stop you from asking 100+ times in less than 24hrs in the same rom thread about same issue. Thanks.

I've had really bad issues for the past two days... it hasn't been great to begin with. I'm convinced it's network issues, but it happens at work and at home.
Cleveland, OH FWIW...
If you're using Hangout, try 8SMS. It's a free app, a KitKat modified version of the CM messaging app. One cool feature (which Sprint supports) is that'll send MMS via Wi-Fi. They also have a thread in Android Apps here in XDA.

I'd consider it, but my MMS are back to working. That wi-fi MMS thing sounds awesome though... it's just- I've been waiting for SMS/MMS in hangouts for so long, I don't want to cheat on it!

Verizon Visual VM

Does anyone else get prompted to accept/decline visual voice mail EVERY single time you get a voice-mail? How many times must I decline?? I don't want to pay for this thing and I've never had it forced in my face so many times with other Verizon phones.
Oh, it asks me after I check my voicemail and delete whatever I had in there, too. Ridiculous.
Download Google Voice, set it up. This was you avoid Verizon voicemail completely, get the same features, and its free.
I honestly don't even care about the features (I've used GV before). I just need this prompt to not be coming up twice every single time I get a VM. Did you hit "accept"? I always hit reject (since I don't want to use it).
Don't know. I use Verizon VVM multiple times a day and it never prompts me.
Did you maybe freeze/debloat something?

Premium visual voice mail is the only paid part..... You can get basic visual for free. And actually it's supposed to be used on all smartphones now. Cuts down on the calls on the cell site.
Personally I use google voice because I don't run out of space and get texts sent to me transcribed but I have been doing that for ten years about.
For people who don't want to go through the setup of gv visual is offered free for basic.
Easier to check anyway don't know why you wouldn't want it xD
