Hi folks,
This thread is based on this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=927861 but it is convenient to us continue on this one.
Shortly, this is a porting of a Sense 2.2 ROM to our Huawei U8150 IDEOS but, so far, it has still bugs that we can't fix (and by me I mean the Italian community of myppc.it that has brought this ROM to a functional state, thanks to the men quoted in the Credits Box).
The ROM run perfectly and very smooth on our little device, but this is the situation...
-SDcard(fix by MORFES)
-Sound(fix by Lucky76)
-Wi-Fi
-Bluetooth
-Camera(Fix by Lucky76)
-Brightness(fix by Lucky76)
-Sim card(PartialFix by Lucky76)
-Accelerometer(fix by Lucky76)
As you can see, there are still the SIM/WiFi/Bluetooth BUG that make this ROM useless.
This ROM has full Sense Experience and it will be very nice to have it on our IDEOS...here it is a video!! (thanks IDEOS_GUY)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFfQigQZo90
Now, the download links: (You have to flash this rom with the ultrajack recovery, it does not work with Clockwork mod one, I know how to fix this "bug" but I don't think it's useful until the rom il fully working!)
FULL BUG ROM (the original one)
Rom with all working, but wifi, bluetooth and SIM*
*The SIM CARD works after 15min with the device in standby, but you will not get calls ans you will not be able to send or receive any sms or calls, so it's nearly working...
For other download links, please heads over to the myppc.it topic
Please, there is any dev that can help us?
Let us know in this thread or on the myppc one.
Really, thank You!!

Actually it isn't much different than the htc tattoo and the htc wildfire. But yes, I really want to fix it. Unfortunately I do not know how to develop. I don't understand why no one wants to develop on it!
By the way, can you put the credits in English? I did the translation for you.

Exactly. The world needs more ROMs. Just because our device is small and not widely used doesn't mean it isn't. We don't even have a dedicated forum for god's sake! I asked the XDA owner/manager guy Mike and he said there is no mod or manager for this device. You know if people wanted to I could be the mod or whatever they want. I have good leader ship skills (according to my parents). Anyways I'll bet there are more professionals at this than me. Which takes me to the point. Fix the god darn ROM!
Yes i agree with you but when this ROM should be fixed after 1 light year if no devs want to fix this why they are wasting time on making useless ROMS instead to fix this legendary HTC SENSE ROM. and the world only need powerful ROMS not more roms.

Totally. They spend all their time on *pointless* ROMs for devices that aren't gonna be here in a couple of months. This is by far the best budget phone. Free on contract. Only $100 UNLOCKED. That blows my mind. It's awesome. Some dev work on a good ROM, or don't work at all. And I know some fool is gonna come up to this thread and say "why don't YOU try porting it?" They obviously don't know how hard porting is. FYI i'm making a port of HTC Sense 3.0 Tablet Edition for the Nook Color. And I've been on this since maybe March. To lazy people: read this post as "SOMEONE FIX THIS GOD DANG ROM!
I am afraid this will never be fixed. Sorry. Someone that was interested WOULD have seen this post now. No one is interested. Repeating things like "Fix this god damn rom" won't help, they actually make the situation worse.

Why not? Just because they haven't seen it yet...
Oh one more thing. Put "[calling android devs]" or something like that in the title.
I'm pretty frustrated right now actually... I can't believe it...
me too would like to have this rom fixed, but don't know if it will happen
I know. It's so annoying that all these devs are putting their work to not-that-great ROMs.
*Ahem* HTC Sense Source released. Maybe we could port JUST sense over, not the whole OS:

HTC Tatto Download: http://dl4.htc.com/RomCode/Source_and_Binaries/click-656120.tar.gz
Those links redirect me to the HTC home page without downloading anything. Why?
Hmm... weird. Just go here:

Anyone can help? Come on guys, we beg you!!
Anyway i've added a video in the first post, see it!
The video that ideos guy posted is nice and to the point, but the quality is terrible (sorry but it's true). I'm planning to film a video about this ROM using my iPhone 4 camera. (Yes, I installed ultrajack recovery and this Sense ROM to try it out)
Hi.
Apologies if this has been asked before but I've searched for a specific answer to my problem and can't seem to find the exact answer I'm looking for.
I've had my HD2 for around 18 months and still love it, great phone. Last year I had CHT installed, one of the early versions. At some point it started to crash and cause problems etc. so I uninstalled it and forgot about it really. Anyway, I recently installed it again and after several installs and uninstalls I got version 1.7.1.2 to run with no problems. It just seems to be the most stable on my phone. I'm happy with that, it suits my needs fine. All I'm really interested in is the additional pages and quick links on the home page and the smaller clock which also displays my appointments, missed calls, weather, text etc. I'm obviously running the same version of editor side by side and I did have to update my .NET framework to 3.5 (I think).
However, there is one thing I'm missing, where has the switches gone that used to be on the original version I had. The little black and white ones for switching the Wi-Fi on, or rebooting the phone. I did find these very useful but either I'm doing something wrong or they're not on the version I have. Which seems a little strange as I'd have thought this would have been a step backwards. Or, do I have to install an additional file to have these as well? If so, could someone kindly point me to an idiots guide on how to get them please. I'm no techie but I can manage simple instructions, lol.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards.
Darren.
The first switches and notifications in CHT came with version 1.8.0. Look here for the changelog.
Aaaaahhh, now that I wasn't aware of.
Many thanks for answering my question, much appreciated.
Darren.

Hi all....apologies for the late reply but I've been away working. Many thanks for your input, I'm now successfully running the latest version with no problems at all, runs brilliantly and no issues of the battery draining etc. It really does take this phone to a whole new level, absolutely fantastic!
I was due to upgrade just after Christmas but I doubt I will now. The HTC HD2 with this mod and a couple of others little tweeks still takes some beating in my eyes. It was streets ahead when it first came out and can still give a lot the newer phones a run for their money.
Thanks again to all concerned, very much appreciated.

Hi everyone.
I am peekaypee from San Diego and like very much my stock 2.3.3 LG G2X except for one thing: The camera!
I never had Froyo, but heard from others that it was far superior to the stock Gingerbread camera app I am using. I have tried all the camera apps from the Market and none of them correct my biggest complaint: Poor pic quality in lowlight. I can't hardly see the picture. I have seen other people use their stock android camera and it will shoot pics much brighter not using the flash too. I have adjusted the exposure to plus 3 and it looks a tiny bit lighter, but then darkens after shot. Overall it's still super dark.
Am I being realistic to think the LG stock camera app or something else modded will work better?
Any help from experienced users is greatly appreciated.
Again, thanks for all you do as I find all the posts interesting and informative.
Sincerely peekaypee in SD.

You're saying you want a better than 8MP camera?
The camera wasn't much better on Froyo, just the interface was nicer.
Give uCam a try.

LG G2X 2.3.3 stock wants to root and get Great Camera. Is it possible?
Thanks for your replys back to my question about the g2x stock camera being
Hey spyvie, does this LGv3.0 camera app take decent pics in lowlight? That is my biggest problem with the stock one.
Also, Is that rom hard to load? I guess I would need to root first but am willing to give it a try. Is there some real simple, straightforward steps to rooting and installing your recommended rom and the LG camera app?
Thanks a million to all of you!
Sincerely peekaypee in San Diego
which is the best light, fast and smoothest rom available for htc chacha. stability and battery concerned.
I hate to blow my own trumpet but I'd recommend this one
^^what that guy said
I'll toot his horn too. I'm a new member of this forum, and just started using this guy's rom. Nice, fast, and free of a lot of pre-installed clutter. Also, easy to install.

Thanks, glad you're enjoying the ROM
Just a couple of questions, so I hope you see this because I haven't posted ten times yet...
#1 no American or Canadian English setting (on initial setup, and under language settings)
#2 where's the Beats Audio?
Still love it, though. Noticeable difference in speed without background apps, and much better internal storage. Also, mildly improved battery life.

It's based on the stock EU ROM, so no, there's no American or Canadian English. I could add them but it'd add to the size of the system or no real reason. I'm sure you can live with the Queen's English
The Beats Audio doesn't show up anywhere in the UI, it just works its magic in the background. I even notice a difference when I use it with my cheap £20 eBay headphones so I know it's working
If you've seen other ROMs with the Beats Audio showing up as a setting on the UI, that's probably because they have the Music app from ROMs of newer phones. I might see if I can get that ported to my ROM now, come to think of it. Thanks for that idea
P.S. to further improve battery life, go to your sound settings and turn off all the sensor based stuff if you haven't already, that makes quite a difference!
Hmmm...haven't noticed a difference with my 20 buck Panasonics, or in my car, though that's with an FM transmitter (a good one, though).
I guess I'll live with the Queen's English, though the patriotic side of me cringes, eh?...
Weird, maybe it depends on the music you listen to. Stuff with heavy bass sounds better at least
God save our gracious Queeeeen
I just tried to stick the /system/apps folder from a Sensation XE onto my ChaCha... The ChaCha didn't like it too much. I'll experiment more later, see what I can get working. Looking around the XE ROM, there's certainly stuff here which shows whether or not Beats is working in the actual UI, so I might add some of that in if it plays nice with the ChaCha.
Cool! Thanks for all your work. Is it possible to move these posts to your thread in the development forum, so others can see what's going on?

That's something else I'm looking into. I know it can be done, others have done it, I've just got to edit the right files in my ROM so it goes to Tinfoil.
I promise I'll start posting there once I cross this ten post threshold. I understand why they do it, and it clearly has an effect on the quality of the posts, but it's still annoying .
light weight rom
here is the finest rom with good set of apps... i have been using it for months now.... there is only one issue that it doesn't shutdown the phone... seems like there is some problem with the shutdown process... but it doesnt hurt because it's nothing that we usually use....

To confirm, I am going to try and implement a fix to the dialler bug this week when I continue work on my ROM. My first priority is Aroma at the moment but it's on my list of things to do.

Glad to hear that. Ur ROM was my 1st ROM i installed after Root this device.
Original ROM is good for user who have less experience in Android or someone love Sense UI of HTC. CM7 is only good for Tech guys.
Stock ROM feel on CM7?
I have been using Chacha for almost half year now, and I like it to core. Have tried almost all ROMs so far. CWM's backup/restore functionality is pure bliss. At times when your hands are itchy, go ahead, mess up your system, do all your experiments. When done, just restore and you are back to your normal mood! Excellent!!
About the ROMs, I try them a lot, but finally do settle down to ROMs based on stock, as my daily ROMS. These are ROMS which I try my own with some experimental versions, or ones available here like from Hexgore . The reason is, there are quite a bunch of apps on Stock ROMS which are perfectly tuned for Chacha's small screen, and hence I find them more efficient than other alternative apps. Here are apps I find too good and difficult to part from.
Mail App
Dialer App
Messages App
I agree that there would be a lot better apps (like K9 for mail). But the easy of bigger icons, easy to tap organization of icons, just make be feel to stay with this mail app.
Now, coming to point, Will it be possible to get these apps work in non-Stock environment. Similar to Gapps package, if we can get to package these apps, it will be great.
I myself, will try these experiments one by one, and report my observations. But just would like to know if there are any like-minded people like me. Please comment. Thanks.
Hi all,
after almost getting rid of my Sensation, finaly got round to taking the leap to get a JB rom, to extend the life of the handset. Everything has gone well, and I've installed Albinomans ROM fine. I have noticed one thing so wanted to ask any JB based rom users a question.
In the stock JB camera app the pictures are in 4:3 format (which is fine, and I know there is a flashable zip, but bear with me). I prefer this aspect ratio for pictures, however, when taking a picture, the whole screen is taken up, which is effectively a 16:9 screen, so its hard to frame pictures correctly.
Basically, if you have a JB rom, when taking a picture, is the whole screen taken up? And then when you look at the picture taken it the gallery, is there more above and below what you saw then you took the photo.
I'm interested to know if this is the behaviour of a JB camera in general or maybe something to do with the ROM I have. I dont have enough posts to ask a specific queestion in the DEV thread, but I would appreciate any feedback.
If there is no way round it then I will have to just settle for using camera ICS from the market so I can see what I want to take
Thanks in advance

Hi, ive been using this mod for a while now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901917 . Just flash it and then make sure you are opening the right camera app (There will be 2 now!) . The correct one has the option to choose 16:9. However if force closes first time but dont worry it only happens once!

Thanks for the reply. I have come across that mod in my searches before posting, and its the flashable zip that I mention in my opening post. I'm less concerned about 16:9 and more concerned that 4:3 is shown properly - tbh both would be nice.
Seeing as you have it installed, can you tell me if the non 16:9 modes correctly show the right aspect ratio? If so, it should have a border on the sides, like the ICS camera, then go back to full screen when you chose the 16:9 option.
Are we able to remove that flashed version if its not what is wanted? From what you say it won't replace the original but would probably like to get rid of it if its not suitable.
Thanks for replying, would appreciate the info I mention above.
Cheers
