CHT switches question?? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hi.
Apologies if this has been asked before but I've searched for a specific answer to my problem and can't seem to find the exact answer I'm looking for.
I've had my HD2 for around 18 months and still love it, great phone. Last year I had CHT installed, one of the early versions. At some point it started to crash and cause problems etc. so I uninstalled it and forgot about it really. Anyway, I recently installed it again and after several installs and uninstalls I got version 1.7.1.2 to run with no problems. It just seems to be the most stable on my phone. I'm happy with that, it suits my needs fine. All I'm really interested in is the additional pages and quick links on the home page and the smaller clock which also displays my appointments, missed calls, weather, text etc. I'm obviously running the same version of editor side by side and I did have to update my .NET framework to 3.5 (I think).
However, there is one thing I'm missing, where has the switches gone that used to be on the original version I had. The little black and white ones for switching the Wi-Fi on, or rebooting the phone. I did find these very useful but either I'm doing something wrong or they're not on the version I have. Which seems a little strange as I'd have thought this would have been a step backwards. Or, do I have to install an additional file to have these as well? If so, could someone kindly point me to an idiots guide on how to get them please. I'm no techie but I can manage simple instructions, lol.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards.
Darren.

The first switches and notifications in CHT came with version 1.8.0. Look here for the changelog.

Aaaaahhh, now that I wasn't aware of.
Many thanks for answering my question, much appreciated.
Darren.

Hi all....apologies for the late reply but I've been away working. Many thanks for your input, I'm now successfully running the latest version with no problems at all, runs brilliantly and no issues of the battery draining etc. It really does take this phone to a whole new level, absolutely fantastic!
I was due to upgrade just after Christmas but I doubt I will now. The HTC HD2 with this mod and a couple of others little tweeks still takes some beating in my eyes. It was streets ahead when it first came out and can still give a lot the newer phones a run for their money.
Thanks again to all concerned, very much appreciated.

Future New HTC Raphael User

Hi!
I'm looking to get a Touch Pro as soon as my Orange contract is up (couple of weeks) - I see a lot of people saying that as soon as they got it, once they put in a decent ROM it all worked great.. question then is - I see lots of roms, but I can't see any "numpty" description of what each offers and why i'd want to use it?
Am I missing something really obvious ?
Thanks!
Matt.

Yes I think you do. Raphael has plenty of memory and stock rom is good enough with TF3D (which most of us agree that is very good and finger friendly). So needed changes are only for tweeking TF3D or remove some "un-usefull" applications.
There is no competitive phone out there to get something from.
With my Artemis I flashed meschle 's rom to have goodies from Touch, Iphone etc. With Raphael there is no need for this. I 'm satisfied with it "out of the box".
Maybe later when something new shows up.
Maybe Xperia UI. Are you listening xda experts?
My opinion.

got my fuze. Now what?

to my fellow posters,
phew, after a long time waiting, and searching; the fuze has arrived. Its a nice phone, sleek; i just wish i had the original HTC TouchFLo instead of att crap. Build quality feels a little cheap, thank god for the insurance, a relief for us whom bought a tilt when they launched with no insurance. Though i hear the deductible is steep. Had a quick time at the at&t store, when it finally got to my turn. Joseph was nice and informative. I was not given free car charger and/or case like some lucky users, though i did take a swing at it.
So its here now, so what to do now guys? What are recommended roms, and programs etc? I want this phone to do everything lol
really would like :
touch pro EURO touchflo interface(if possible)
nice browsern and all that good stuff. Lets all come together and gasp in Fuze joy! Thanks guys!

hey asad:
bro you are asking questions that are really based on individual taste. What rom is recommended could differ heavily from one user to another .. imo monx aka hung tuah's roms are pretty good. I have tried his kaiser roms they are good.
as far as changing touchflo interface you can just flash a different rom that has the euro version or wait for someone to use a att build and incorporate the euro touchpro interface etc...
I would recommend looking around and searching for various cabs. The sky is the limit !!!

I am hungry, can you please tell me what I would like to eat?
No really, that is up to you! But if you ask me, try the RomeOS 1.40 I think it works best for now!
Also maybe you should consider changing the radio for better performance!
Good luck!

this is so simple its unbelievable you didnt look this up before buying your fuze
go to the diamond forum and get tf3d configurator you can put so many themes on
Got mine today also!
I put my tilt on sale last night just in case the Fuze was out, and bought my Fuze today also. the rom is slow and sluggish I need a rom fast. The phone is cool though, a little smaller than I thought, but cool.

In my experience of trying them out over the past couple of weeks, most of them dont work on the Fuze in landscape mode. Hopefully that will change now that there are so many Fuzes out there!
I know Nisse has a couple that work on the Fuze so he is a good place to start. (I've been running his HTC Black theme since he released it and i like it a LOT better than the stock AT&T theme...)

In the Phone's settings, System Tab, Disable AGPS, go to External GPS, set the GPS program port to COM0.
Start up WLM, and your GPS will work perfectly
im using 02 blue that one is working so far but of course landscape is boring gray
and what must i do to make gps work with google maps it doesnt seem to find a satellite?
and im using romeos now

So What's Coming Next?

Ok here comes an innocent question, more for curiosity than anything else.
We've had Manilla and the good ole standby of HTC Home, but I'm curious as to what's coming around the corner. I have to admit that I am finally getting tired of my super ROM, and I guess I could try another Manilla ROM. But here is my hope... Is there anything coming down the pipe that is going to be new and edgy? I'm hoping so, but if not, I'll just try another ROM.
I've got my fire-retardant PJ's on and am awaiting the on-slaught of comments saying that I don't appreciate our chefs. I really do, I just am ready to change the wallpaper.

I'll jump in the barrel with ya. I love every ROM I have ever flashed but I agree - whats next? Android? Where does WM go from here.....
You guys tried either TF3D or Throttlelauncher? Both of these interfaces are pretty cool and getting better all the time...aside from that, hopefully the next new thing will be Windows Mobile 7 (crosses fingers that it will run on the kaiser)...

Yeah.....WM7 another year away maybe.....Wish I could get an HD in the US - that would give me hours of play!
Hopefully Android or windows mobile 7.
Something that would make the kaiser actually a good phone =]
Actually from what I read and if I understand correctly, WM 6.5 is first by summer of this yr than WM 7 in 2010. Also WM 6.5 is supposed to have a revamped homescreen for touchscreen devices like how 6.1 revamped it for smartphones. At least that is from what I last read unless things have changed...
im hoping for a video driver but it seems unlikely. There isn't much talk on it anymore.....
I personally would love to see a full working version of TF3D with landscape and the power issue fixed.
Can someone tell me the difference between throttle launcher and tf3d? They kind of look the same to me...

I've got a New HTC Touch Pro 2 - What now?

Guy's,
I made the plunge, well, I didn't think i would get it, but won a htc off ebay! Should be delivered in 3 or so days, so long as the bloody postal strike doesn't hold it up!!!!!
Ok, What do I do now? Advice and suggestions would be welcomed.
It's going to be a standard out of the box handset. with WM 6.1 pro.
What mods/upgrading/software should I have? Should i use spb 3.5?
Can't wait to get my hands on it.
cheers.
Hi,
All your questions & mod tips are here, but you'll need to do some catch-up reading: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=479
Enjoy your new PPC!
First read the Wiki and then just spend a couple of weeks with it and exploring the TP II forum. We don't know how you will use your phone or what you expect from it so we can't recommend anything at this point. Only you know what you want the phone to do.
So educate yourself, determine what you want and then everyone here will be happy to help you get there
No probs, will do.
Expect loads of questions from me in the next few weeks.
It arrived today! I wasn't expecting it until maybe Thursday but what an awesome phone! Been playing around with it for most of the day.
Sorry guy's, I have to ask, what would you recommend I install as upgrades? What do you think I should mod it with?
I'm also going to do a bit of reading, but would love your thoughts.
Cheers.
I would first recommend upgrading to WM 6.5. Then install TouchFLO as a UI and install the Microsoft Marketplace. There are tons of apps there to customize your phone how you like! Also check out the programs here on XDA. Just look around and you will find things that fit your interests. For example, you may come across a tool that enables your phone to schedule text messages (handy if you want your girl to think you're so sweet by sending her a good morning message first thing in the morning lol works like a charm). Also, Google Maps is an excellent GPS program, but Windows Live Local has better turn by turn directions. I would recommend one or both of those.
^Very good recommendations above...WM6.5 is a must then you can customize from there...
Excellent, cheers guys.
More stuff like this please.
Also, I'm going to be using the phone for business. Is there a software program to read email better than the standard email view on the phone?
What business apps would you recommed?
I've also been advised to flash it with the latest HTC radio and NRG Photon Rom? Someone also said to use SPB 3.5?
Where do I get these programs from?
I think i've got touch flo on it, does this sound right TouchFLO 3D 2.1.38163.1?
bump anyone?

If you don´t like Manila 2.1 de select it and then you can install spb, personally I prefer touch flo than spb but that is matter of tastes.
Good luck,
Cheers for that.
Also, Is there another updated version of manilla and how do I tell which version I have? I've seen people have been talking about manila 2.5? What are your thoughts?

Quick live wallpapers+sticking?

First off am I the only one that wishes the original opengl would stick? Performance was alot better for that one (especially for the nexus wallpaper). Is getting the performance of the original live wallpaper we had and the sticking of the new patch possible? Right now that is the only problem stopping my phone from being the sex.
EDIT: Problem seems to happen when another widget is updated. Its not perfectly smooth, but not bad, but when a widget updates it really slows down the wallpaper to a noticeable halt. I doubt im the first to notice this, but for anyone else that really wants nexus wallpaper, having less widgets on your main page seems to help.
I moved the news+weather widget you see below to another page and it seems to jitter less.
I agree. Losing the performance from the new OpenGL isn't worth having LWP's. They might have a fix for this when Toast's Awesome Sauce ROM is complete.

Ive wanted them ever since i saw them and i think its pretty awesome
that we can run them @ all on a phone that has half the horsepower

them i dont really exp all this slowdown everyone is crying about now

but no sense in being anything other than greatful for what we have atm

Maybe you could try to solve the issue for us rather than wasting your time

Yeah I disagree with "there is no point in having them if it is slower".......the patch works pretty dam well with most wallpapers its just the peski nexus being alittle to slow to be usable for me. MagnusRagnarok my OP was not an attack on you at all. I am extremely thankful for what you have done, and hope you have not taken my post that way. I am just trying to see if more people feel the same way as me. For me getting the nexus one wallpaper running alittle bit better would get me closer to completing my phone.
Ill bump since I edited my first post. Hopefully someone finds it helpful.

Hey guys, I know a lot of us have been dying to get the nexus wallpaper working without having to do the opengl fix to make wallpapers stick, seeing as it made the wallpaper ran really choppy. I found a way to get it to stick, run smooth, and not have to change the opengl. I used the update zip posted by emerica6541 and it stuck right on and have ran smooth ever since. Granted he did modify the wallpaper so the lights are smaller, but I think it looks better that way on our heroes due to the smaller screen. It has survived multiple reboots, and over 30 mins of sleep time. I am running darch's legend rom though, so I'm not sure if this will work for damage's or flipz's roms, but its worth a shot.

This is the point of the thread, not to shoot down other's hard work but to improve on it....I think thats what xda is about.

Just a note though, when you first set the wallpaper, your phone will freeze for a min, then it'll take you to the bootscreen. Once it reloads, you should be good to go.

Oh no, i am running the new openGL. I will try the old one thanks! Should have read your original post better.
One thing that is weird is that the LWP stick with the old openGL if its plugged into the computer. Does the phone not sleep if its plugged into a computer?
