Check the phone info in setting you might already have the rom and radio installed when you rooted it.

If you want something that looks stock but is optimized under the hood, check out rum runner.

There is no best rom as each rom runs differently on each device. I would be careful before you do something that voids the warrenty on a phone that is not yours.

Use this. It's the best stock ROM we have. Super quick, super awesome. Debloated and tweaked for performance.
is this the official ota, or just a leak before ota happend? latest but rooted? just want to get my answers before my phone gets here and because i dont like all that much tweaking of a rom or adding stuff to it just like i noticed with the xboarder link he added that host file adblock, can that just be uninstalled and be back to normal?

or you can try faux's rom and kernel it works well.

There is no adblock. It's an optional add on. It is the official OTA. He just slimmed it down and made it faster. No UI tweaks, or graphical tweaks of any kind
Yeah I was using xboarders tweeked version and it was great Super stable and great battery life no real issues. The completly stock one is good to but the tweek is better. It was my favorite till I installed eaglesblood 1.0.8 that is the best ROM ever made great everything it has a few issues but they are not specific to that ROM no one has figured out A2DP yet to my knowledge. I'm sure they will soon though. I think everyone should use eaglesblood.
Here. This is the OTA 2.3.3 update. It is rooted but that's pretty much it. Still has all the T-Mobile blaotware, etc. Flash it via clockworkmod recovery.

Yea this is the same as the OTA from July/August, its just already rooted. Its not the leaked version from back in April or May or whenever that was. Right now this is the easiest (maybe the only?) way to have rooted 2.3.3 stock rom. You have to use nvflash (check development section for easy-to-use nvflash tool) to flash clockworkmod recovery and then you can boot into recovery and flash this zip.
And note that this zip will not touch your baseband.
Here's a link to the nvflash recovery flasher

perfect, everything i am gonna need.. thank you again

Check about phone in the settings when you get it, if your baseband is the march one then you need to run the lg update tool to get the new one.
No other way to get it, and it's a huge improvement.

If you flash a rooted room via clockwork it'll be fine. The official update can't be rooted but nothing can stop you from installing a completely new, rooted rom.

If he's getting it new Friday won't it already have the latest baseband anyway?

What do I need to change?

I sold my wife's evo shift on Craig's list and need to deliver it tomorrow. What do I need to change so the phone can be updated? Do I need to 100% unroot it, or just a change the rom back to factory? He likes that its rooted but its his first rooted phone.
Thanks

No you do not have to Unroot the phone. Just flash a new Rom on the device, any STABLE Rom will do. If the SD Card is going with the device your going to have to Reformat the SD Card. That way you don't accidently give away private information. That's it .

I'm prett sure you have to be on a sense based rom for sprint to be able to activate...
Sent from my PG06100
What Rom is most stable is a matter of opinion. I'm a Sense Guy so I'm going to suggest MikShifted G v2.0. Definately not stock, but close to it. With a ton of extras, Stable and Fast. You can try x99's GB Rom, very close to Stock Sense. Supreme Sense v9.1 which is full of Eye Candy, Stable, and Quick. If you want the latest Sense release for the Shift that is dead stock, only Rooted. I believe sparksco has one.

Good for Enterprise on 11/15 JB Leak?

Hey guys-
I use Good for Enterprise on my gs3, currently running stock ICS. I want to flash the new stock rooted JB leak (11/15 kernel) but since Good is not officially supported on JB with this device, my supervisor is telling me not to do it since it could cause the app to not work right. I am rooted with an unlocked bootloader just itching to flash this...
Getting new PINs for the app are not an issue, since I am one of the Good admins in my company.
Anyone know if it is ok for me to do this? I think he is being ridiculous about this, considering we know it has gs3 support and JB support. Sprint has has JB for weeks already!
Doesn't this app check for root? The company I work for uses Good and a buddy had a S3 rooted (Sprint) and the admins said he couldn't use it because he was rooted. If you put on a stock not rooted image then I would think it would work unless JB gives it problems.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Try it. Make sure you do a nandroid backup first. If you run into a problem you can just revert back to what you were using before you flashed and pick up like you never wiped all data apps and info are restored.

I have been rooted for a few months now, and have not come across an issue... I have read that it checks for root also, but maybe the way my company configured it, it doesn't matter?
I am the guy in my office that configures the PINs and i can see device status for everything, and mine seems normal.
Go ahead and give it a try if your comfortable doing it like the above post has, make a nandroid and go at it!

I don't really know what this means but if it means a future employer of mine doesn't notice I'm rooted, thanks for asking this question.

Your employer can choose whether to allow Good on a rooted device. Mine allows it, and Good works fine on my GS3 with the first JB release.. Except for the "secure browser".. Apparently that does not support JB yet.

[Q] Best ROM for running two apps max?

I have a retired S3 that is no longer on service with Verizon. It's stock rooted at the moment.
I'm simply looking for the best replacement ROM to run the essentials only, the phone will be running Torque Pro, that's about it..
Any recommendations?
Quick search and read. Will help you answer your own question.
My suggestion is stock rom.
Just be careful with vzw s3..you will brick if you try to root it if it's already on 4.3....actually you can root it, I think, but you'd be limited to touch wiz roms only. There are extensive threads on the subject and you should really check them out before doing anything.

I'd stay with stock but you can always debloat if you choose to
From my S3 on Wicked 4.3
I don't like bloated stock. I'm going to go with one of the clean, debloated ROMs

You can easily debloat stock also. The easier way is probably a rom with it already done. I've had to do it even on custom roms

Just purchased LG G3 White

Hey community! I am currently and sadly a GS4 user with AT&T. Have had to deal with safestrap which im thankful for, never a full unlock. Just purchased a G3 off swappa. Definitely looking forward to having full control over my device without restrictions.
Read around and rooting is obviously easy. Custom recovery is what im going to be looking into next. Whats your current rom if running custom? If your still on stock, why?
Cheers

Hello and welcome! I think you'll find the G3 to be a great device, especially now that there is development for it. I am running my Candy5 ROM. It's based on CM12 with some goodies added. Give it a shot once you get TWRP flashed. You won't regret it :good:

Awesome. I did check that one out. And is already downloaded. I will be playing around with that one and of of course cm12.
Thanks
I'm still using cloudy ROM from the international thread. It is based off of the international stock kit Kat build. Everything works perfectly.

I was exactly like you except still had my s4 on mf3 firmware (which I passed down to my gramps): I got my g3 a lil after black Friday and love it. I'm running on pa 4.4.4 still since the battery life is phenomenal and basically no bugs. I do plan on going onto cm12 in the near future I think since its gone 'official' a few days ago. Btw I rooted mine with purpledrake

I'm a little confused. Wasn't the whole bumping thing website removed? Can development still happen if roms and kernels can't be bumped?

[Apologies for the piggyback]
I just got an LG G3 a couple of days ago and still using my first Note (i717) as a tablet. I cannot believe how smooth and fast this thing is, originally I was going to get the Note 4 but I'd rather spend $1.09 than $249.99+tax. So here I am an LG G3 member and it's good to be back on the forums with a fresh device.
Until At&T stop acting like a little-baby-b***h and locking their devices, you can try the available tools and tricks to get by.

I also just got this phone and all I can say is wow. I had a S5 for a little white but I must say I honestly think this phone blows Samsung's flagship out of the water in all ways. Best phone I had to date.
