is anyone going to port this to our skyrocket? well i know we have a released for our phone but it has alot of problems will this release fix the problem?http://www.cyanogenmod.com/blog/cyanogenmod-7-2-0-rc1-is-upon-us
Simply put... nope
We don't even have a fully working kernel yet.
no. The day we get a decent enough cm7 kernel is the day MIUI and cm7 start to work

I think the biggest hurdle right now is compiling an AOSP kernel for this phone. Since all we've got to work with is Froyo for the time being, any MIUI port would be considerably dated.

Thanks. So basically we're waiting for a GB ota kernel source code update from Samsung. Then compile aosp. Then the roms like cm and miui can boot.

exactly or waiting for someone like krylon to get a leak for us!
To port MIUI, we need a 2.6.35.x kernel, which would require either a GB release/leak or Sammy to release the kernel source for 2.6.35 for our phone. I'm currently working on porting the 2.6.35 kernel to get CM7 working, but it's taking much longer than anticipated, given the amount of stuff that they added to our phone.
Is their a way to port this to our devices?

Optimus 2x is supported....
ICS source has not been released yet and there are no ICS drivers for the P990 or P999. There is no way they can have anything resembling a stable rom.
Whitehawx has already ported it. The source was just released today as well for ICS.

That is not ICS, but rather gingerbread using ics framework for battery management and profiling.. nothing else. Please read before discouraging our devs. Jboxer.. i am using latest ril, and i do get better coverage. Dont get radio crash after losing service.

Only problem with MIUI is Wi-Fi calling doesn't work
Other than that I loved it, visually it's hands down the top ROM.
There is now a MIUI open source!!!!

I know this is great news! But what does that mean for us exactly?

Is the hardest part of getting MIUI to work is getting our kernel go work with it?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Don't worry, we have devs working on kernel. Hypothetically, once the CM7 kernel works, MIUI shouldn't be a problem.
Whooooooooooooo!!!! Falls Out

Yep it's true, I posted about this a week ago....
I have been working with MiuiAnderson to figure out why the build process is not working for the sgs4g. I can build it for the i9000 with no problems...
You won't need a different kernel with this. It ports MIUI to your custom rom.
I will post another update when he gets back to me..
yeah... its been out for while i think... hopefully this will make it for a MIUI ROM on this phone too with official support and stuff
If there is anything I can do to help like test out Rome or something I will be glad to help I myself see me having this device for 2 years.

i knew cm 7 nightly and rc3 work with baseband 2012 march, but miui how to put in cm information make miui work with baseband 2012 march
I think you can if you follow whitehawkx's guide to porting miui using the cm7 nightly... just a theory.
Pretty sure that's possible. The guide is on rootzwiki

It is not just simple as it looks... all you copying from cm nightly is ketnel and wifi drivers with few other modules.. audio crap isin framwork

I have already tried and it doesn't work. But looks like miui.us supports our phone now and dropped the o2x. If they update to the lasted cm it may be supported

Pass me a link to the MIUI you want to use and I could give it a try. Is it GB based or ICS?
Thanks to Rafase282 I can get miui to work just need a popular rom to mod. I have a stock miui.us rom uploaded to my Google drive account pm for link I'll post a rom when I read the rules and make sure I can and what I need to do so I don't get in trouble.

Since there is a port already then I dont need to do it myself =]
I'm trying miui v4 on my Nexus one. A bit slow, i dont know if its the phone or lack of HW but im liking it. I might try to port it once I get a stable release of LewaOS.
I read that Cyanogenmod 9's official stable build has been released, Now with my Infuse could I just go to Cyanogenmod.com and d/L the stable build for the Galaxy S and flash it with no problems? ...Or does it need to be specifically ported to the Infuse for it to work?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Cm9 went stable for the official devices, and our Infuse is not one of them.
A Galaxy S Rom will not work, it must be built specifically for the Infuse.
Entropy's CM9 is very near to "stable" status, he just has to finish some details and then he may decide to declare it official.

Ah okay very cool, thanks bud.

I've been using the unofficial CM9 port for about ten days. (look in the development forum)
I haven't had any random freezes or problems. Everything seems to work except for the few things noted in the thread.
The only problem I did have was trying to back up with ROM manager. Don't do that. backup in recovery. I got stuck in a boot loop and had to re-flash. That was my error not the ROMs
