Port miui rom

Has anybody thought about porting a miui rom to the epic ? I saw one running on evo and its really nice

I think once a true aosp rom comes along an miui rom shouldn't be too far behind. I have high hopes that if/when google goes to a galaxy series device for their dev phone a lot more interesting things should come our way. Unfortunaltely cdma devices kinda get stuck on the back burner; unless they are made by htc that is

Yeah,he said it himself just look in Epic's theming section "where is bubby323?" thread,he cookin up three roms aosp 2.2,miui and another rom I forgot wat it was.

Is anyone going to make a MIUI ROM out of the newly released CM7 ALPHA? If not I will start work tonight.

I generally know what I am doing but just didn't want to stress myself out if someone else was already on releasing a new MIUI BUILD.

I would like to see a new and better MIUI build

as of now no one is using cm7 for miui. and u start, it WILL be stable. cuz cm7 is pretty HARD STABLE. goodluck with dev. and thanks muchos!

lol ill work on building the miui from latest cm7 or my new v1.0.1 one build which is based from cm7 alpha this weekend

I have made progress on the camera on MIUI!! I have a messed up image on the camera preview screen the pictures i take come out messed up...BUT AT LEAST THE CAMERA IS TAKING PICTURES NOW!!

With my luck at soon as i begin to upload, Trip will have released his update with camera working..O WELL...BEER AND DEVing TONIGHT IT IS!!

its gonna be cm7 alpha based with my edits at least for my miui version

MIUI
Alpha 1
MIUI is one of the most popular Android ROMs across all devices, and here it is, (almost) completely ready for the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket!
Issues
Mobile Network may or may not work. I believe you have to be unlocked.
Camera DOES NOT yet work
In-call audio does not work. One workaround may be to leave the GPS on and reboot. However, as I am not unlocked, I cannot test this.
Wifi sometimes gives an error. Looks like you're going to have to flash Da_G's CM7 kernel without any tweaks to fix that.
Let me know if there are any other issues! Other than that, this ROM could be a daily driver.

This is my first ROM, so I may need a little help dealing with all the problems that may arise. You are free to download this, modify it as you want, and repost it as your own. Just give credit where needed.

XAviierG - This ROM is based off of all of XAviierG's hard work. I merely made small edits to make it work with the i727.
Da_G - This ROM's kernel is based off of Da_G's CM7 kernel.
SolteRR - SolteRR was able to fix the problem with the internal SD not being mounted by the ROM.

No, it's Gingerbread based. We can't have an ICS based MIUI rom until we have a stable ICS rom.

Data didn't work, wifi and APNs wouldn't stick, some scrolling animation issues. Otherwise, looks awesome to see MI727R.

oops! i always just read it as "ian"droidos

Looking good, you may want to add scrolling graphic errors to issues/things you need to fix. Seems to glitch out whenever I move too quickly between homescreens. But seriously great job, I love MIUI, great to see it on my skyrocket.

Also consider that the International sgs2 uses the Exynos421x processor, where as the sgs4g uses the intrepid-hummingbird S5PC110 processor. Totally different.
7TimesCursed just gave me a tip that will help me move forward with CM7. (something I was hung up on)
CM9 is also still under development. A port would mean a buggy phone.
An ICS port would indeed be better.
After CM7 port is done, I still have plans to rebase our phone specific kernel stuff to the samsung aosp kernel. That my help us port to the 3.0.1 kernel that ICS uses. This is still a ways off, and hopefully by then CM9 will stabilize.

Wouldn't we all. We have a nice AOSP/AOKP/CM9 Kernel. So porting if from the Sensation wouldn't be so hard. I'm currently looking into porting it. But It would be my 1st attemp at porting.

I'm aiming for April 26th as a Birthday Release.

Ok so far I have the latest MIUI v4 like 50% done. Has every issue the Open sensation CM9 port has. As I used that as the base for now. I just really want MIUI v4. My own CM9 port will be in works after I get MIUI v4. Then I'll be actively be deving on MIUI and CM9. So Wifi is eh, Bluetooth is a no. Then finally Video Camera is a no. As long as the CM9 Kernel has those issue, so will it. I have this whole month off from the world. So I can spend a lot of time making this Stable, Fast, and EPIC.

Why when I try to use the "set perm" CMD it won't work. I have the Rom booting, just no MIUI SU. Just regular. Then you can't backup apps, or set themes. It tells me something about the environment not being found. Is there a folder the System folder need to be in for the "set perm" to work?

Fail. Long story short, I Cut and Paste. Not copied and paste. Had to format my SD and lost it XO All I need help with no is signing it, my Update Zip signer wont sign it right any more.

to get su...DL the latest Su and simply apply it to your rom...use the kitchen to sign

Lol, it will forever remain a mystery how I got the Rom to boot. But I should have it uploaded today mabey? Thinking of calling ACC MIUI v4.

I keep on getting very random results. I'm still working on it. Today I might get an alpha out. I'm trying this out on two Doubleshots, and it only boots on one. They're both S-off. Same Radio, and everything. :T I've learned a lot today.

I had a booting version, but it wouldn't go past lockscreen. Now I can't get it too boot :T Using those newer Dev toold take a lot of getting used to. When I'd slim down Roms it was so much easier.

I'm having an in law help me learn some Linux and Java now. He's going to help me get a stable CM9, and MAYBE! Make a better CM9/AOKP/AOSP kernel. One that could potentially get camcorder working. But I wouldn't have that done till like Aug.

tell your inlaw i love him or her (no homo if him) and good luck. BTW Ive ported 2.5 roms and I havent touched linux/ubuntu (involving rom development) but your going to need it if you want to write a kernel
