Ive had my Otterbox Commuter case for about 1 year and a couple of months; ever since I got my G2. Well today I was removing the case to clean my G2 and the top part of the case near the power button just broke off.
So is the case still in warranty? Ive been hearing mixed views that Otterbox has a lifetime warranty and others saying its only 1 year now. So whats the deal?
Shoot them an email and ask, their customer service is pretty good. All I had to do was say it broke, send them a picture of the case, and my return address. Got the replacement in about a week.
Good customer service, only problem is that they no longer make the case so getting a replacement may be a problem

You were right. They were willing to replace the case under warranty but they didn't have any in stock since it was discontinued. So Im out of luck.
Well at very least they will give you a voucher up to the value of the commuter, either hold onto it until you get a new phone or score some points by getting a quality case for that special person in your life

Well, I wanted a case for my N1... and found the Amzer-Rubberized-Black-Snap-On-Crystal-Hard-Case... it looked good and so I ordered it from the amzer website... hxxp://amzer.com/Amzer-Rubberized-Black-Snap-On-Crystal-Hard-Case-P86573.htm
my biggest mistake... recd. it 16 days after I placed the order... after constantly nagging their customer support... and the product is miserable... poor quality... does not snap together properly (very tight fit... too tight!!!)... the inside is very rough...
should I get a replacement... well, I'm thinking not... I'll land up wasting more time and money... and get one more unit which will be just as bad...
My advice... stay away from this... get something decent even if you have to pay more... something which is good quality and fits properly!
Amzer and Fommy.com are joke retailers in my opinion. I ordered a case from them, a hard case, which in the pictures on their site showed that it covered the front bottom portion of the phone completely around the trackball. It looked great in the pic as it showed it protected every exposed area of the phone except the screen and trackball. They charged $17 + 5 shipping which I though was a bit high for a hard case but since it covered the whole phone I thought it was worth it. After waiting 2 weeks for delivery what I got was totally different than what was pictured. It's a hard case that covers only the outer front edge of the phone like a crystal case. Not worth more than five dollars on eBay. I went back on there site and noticed that the small image of the case still looks like what i thought I was ordering but if you hover your mouse over the image a larger image appears that is totally different than the smaller. This image was changed after the day I ordered at some point. I talked to a CSR (Fommy.com) and they had no idea what i was talking about and said they would need to look into it and get back to me, that was a week ago. I e mailed Amzer about it and they never responded back (Partner site). The customer service rep did say i could ship it back at my expense. WTF. Theives and con-artists. Do yourself a favor and don't deal with them. Pass it along.
Terrible product...don't even deal with them again!
I just got a similar product from bargaincell via amazon and it does not fit. Granted, I only paid $6 (including shipping) I expected the case to at least fit. It looks like a bad mold. The cover for the face of the N1 does not totally match cover for the back of the device. Four of the five snap on clasp(I hope thats the right term) on the inside of the top cover match the bottom cover. It just one thats out of place therefore its keep the the top cover from snapping completely shut. Bargaincell's invoice states they have a no-hassle return policy.....I will find out if it holds true on Monday.
Well, I decided to contact Amzer regarding the crappy case... got an e-mail back from them after 2 days... they told me to mail it back to them along with a $5 re-shipping fee... WTF!!! I pay to send it to them and I pay the shipping fee for the new one as well... absolute rip-off!!!
STAY AWAY FROM AMZER AND IT'S PRODUCTS!!!!!
I got stinged by them too. They even had the guts to charge me a 15% restocking fee, and I had to call them up 2 weeks later to get my refund because they "forgot" about it...
Amzer and Fommy, avoid like the plaque.
ordered this on friday and got today .. nice case over all better than other cheap cases on ebay. am sick of ebay sellers for cheap cases of no use. finally this is better than other cases that I saw
Ok I have a question about ZAGG products that someone may be able to help me out with. I bought my Note 4 around Black Friday which was before the time they released the new and updated "zagg glass with fixed dimensions" so I opted to do the life time warranty and get my replacement to see how it works. I got the replacement in the mail and I applied it and everything. I was wondering has anyone ever sent this back and can shine some light on how do they want it shipped back? Also... under some difficulties my phone's network popped on itself so I had to get a replacement device itself now! and NEED ANOTHER replacement! before the original one is even sent back! Is it possible for me to order yet another replacement and send both back as long as they fall in the 60 day window of each replacement? *sighs* big thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer.
You can definitely order another replacement Glass from Zagg as long as you ship and return have Zagg receive the '2' defective screen protectors before 60 days from your last warranty request. Zagg does provide prepaid labels for Warranty Replacements (that's what you are paying up front when going through the initial phase of the process).
I wouldn't recommend Glass as the halo is something not fully resolved by Zagg; you would want a Zagg associate to install the protector for you for best results.
Otherwise I would stick to Zagg's HDX. I'll be posting pictures soon.

So I dropped my phone with the case on it and it hit the ground on a weird angle, because right above the spen holder in the corner it dented and cracked the glass. When I took the case off it was cracked from the bottom going towards the middle of the phone but closer to the edge.
So do I need to contact Otterbox, or sprint insurance? Or will nothing happen and I need to replace the back myself? I had sprint insurance since 2011 but never used it. So im not sure how it works, same with the Otterbox policy.
Sadly Otterbox does not cover the phone as well. I had the similar fate happen to my phone a few weeks ago. Sprint (asuron insurance) responds very fast at sending you a new (for me i got a brand new in oem box) phone. I got mine the next day as I made the claim before 10am CST. These phones are a bit much to replace on the insurance scale going at $200 for the deductible though it's better than paying full price for the thing.

Thanks. So do i send my old phone back once the new 1 comes in?
I guess its time to search for a better case. Sucks because I liked OB products.
No.... you pay the deductible and they fedex it out to you. They give you a package to send in the old phone within 10 days. Easy peasy
Yep as otamctech said, you submit the claim and they send the new phone with a return package. It's so that in-case your broken phone is possibly operational you can still use it till the new one arrives.
I have a 1/8" hairline scratch in the lower left quadrant. I'm going into a Verizon store on the 11th to exchange it. Some quality control Samsung has.
I know that it sucks for you but you have to think that even if 10,000 phones have a scratch that is a very small percentage compared to what is made. Nothing is perfect. Good luck with your exchange, hopefully the next one is okay
Good luck.. They will probably say you scratched it after taking it out of the box, and that it's not a warranty issue. The fact is these phones will show some age as they get used, what you're describing doesn't sound like a big deal.

I've already called my local store and customer service and both assured me that there'd be no issues within 14 days, but thanks for your opinion!
Should be ok if it isn't obvious damage was caused after removal. It will be considered a DOA device (defective on arrival).
If you go to a store they will push back since you ordered it online but they CAN do it. I worked for VZW up until Jan 2015 and would get customers calling in all the time saying the store told them they couldn't. They can, and it is easier since you don't have any out of pocket expense. If you call in, they have to bill you for the new phone and you get a refund when they receive the DOA device. Make the store do it! Also, since DOA no restocking fee.
Got a new phone today!

I just picked up a new edge to day and mine is scratched on both lower back corners. I was cleaning it up to install my scratch guard for the back and noticed them. Looks like I'm off to Verizon tomorrow for a phone and Zagg replacement. The real bummer is they did such a nice job installing the screen protector. Definitely inspect your phone before you leave the store if you have the option to do so.

Yup, this is what they told me. The store was even nice and noted my account that the device is scratched so I can't return it But on a good note I contacted customer service they are sending me a new Zagg screen protector and credited my account $50.00. It still ticks me off that the store basically called me a liar and said phones don't scratch them selves. I suppose it could have been scratched when they installed the screen protector but either way I didn't do it. From now on I'm inspecting my phone before I leave the store or just deal with them online because they always take care of me when I deal with them on the phone.

Kind of expensive at $90, but it's the same that iPhones pay I suppose. I guess it's one way to get that IP68 rating. I'll definitely be ordering one
What I'd really like is a waterproof case with an integrated extended battery, ala iPhone 6S Plus Lifeproof case: http://www.lifeproof.com/en-us/ipho...or-iphone-6-plus-6s-plus/lppw-apl-iphp15.html
EDIT: Might have jumped the gun. Looks like it's signing up notification when available right now, but at least we know that they'll be for sale soon.
I plan to get one of these cases when they come available. I have never had a life proof case before but I want the water protection. Has anyone used one before?

I used one on my s5. The first one, the charging door fell off. Luckily, I kept the box and email with the confirmation number. It made filling the replacement claim very easy. They shipped it quickly.
The second case had the same thing happen. I gave up at that point.
While it was working, it worked wonderfully. The warranty was also handled well.
My girlfriend had one on her iPhone 5 or something I think and it survived her abuse really well.

Good to know. Not going to stop me from getting one, just going to make sure to keep the box and receipt.

That's all I meant by it. They're great. Just keep the necessary goods, and you'll be all set.
Expensive, but totally worth it. Getting one for Pixel too.
